redBus Bus Ticket Booking App Reviews

It’s an good operating system and easy to book buses, but when it comes to the actual buses it’s pretty awful. I’ve been left by two buses now and as a foreigner it is very stressful, specially when you’re relying on an app. They tell you a location and it’s really another one, or it’s a different than bus than it says (which according to immigration officer is illegal) very poor communication and perhaps it’s the buses themselves but when you have only redBusBusTicketBookingApp to trust, it’s very disappointing. I think it might be better to over pay at one of those your agencies than risking maybe getting picked up maybe not. I had some easy buses, no problem but it’s the ones that never showed up that make me never want to use this system again. Very unfortunate and extremely irritable. Plus I only got one of the no-shows refunded. I know it’s India, but cmon. Maybe if you are risking it, only use the high rated bus drivers and try to call them at numbers they provide. This still won’t guarantee them showing up.

It is really frustrating to not able to change or cancel the tickets if booking is made by a mistake. Atleast the seat can be given to someone else but more importantly even with primo I was not able to cancel the ticket for ticket booked for 5 minutes before. It would be good to give some buffer for ticket to be changed/cancellable if there are any mistakes whole booking

Typo: “Singin” instead of “Sign In” on homepage

Payment: Amex not accepted but the error message does not tell you this. It’s only when you switch to the website to pay that you are told this.

Processing: Handshake gets dropped so even though payment has been taken, the bus seats don’t get purchased. Had to call up customer service to resolve this.

I got cheated by redbus team. They promised a vehicle which will fit my 6 checkin bags but rather they sent a small vehicle which was not adequate. I have to pay double the fare to book another vehicle to accommodate my travel. Redbus team has put my kids in jeopardy. I would not recommend redbus anyday. Please be ready for mayhem and getting cheated before booking redbus.

If I explicitly set the origin and destination for search, why does redBusBusTicketBookingApp prioritize the showing boarding points which are not the origin? If I search Borivili to Pune, why does redBusBusTicketBookingApp show Dadar or Thane Pune buses before Borivili?

The payment failed 4 times with Mastercard. No clarity on why it failed or what should a user do after the failure. After 4 attempts with no clear error message, I gave up on using redBusBusTicketBookingApp . Then it gives me notification that “am I ready with payment?“ Oh the audacity!

I’ve uninstalled and moved on with my life.

Very hard to reach customer care. Have to go through 10 different automated messages to get to customer care. Even after reaching customer care they are absolutely useless and doesn't help much. Much better to book directly on bus provider websites then going through this mess. Do not trust redBusBusTicketBookingApp or red bus customer care. Stay away

The biggest thing is that you can’t open the ticket after you’ve booked it. It’s there in the My Bookings tab, but then they always “fail to load”. The emails from redBus are also always jumbled and hard to read, missing important information such as the address of the bus terminal (crucial when a city has more than one station with similar names) and seat numbers (something we needed to prove/provide to the bus company in order to get the seats we paid for).
It’s also nearly impossible to book on redBusBusTicketBookingApp due to bad design. I always had to use the webpage on my phone anyway to do anything with redBus.
Lastly, they should stop selling tickets with really poor bus companies. There are so many more providers than listed on redBus—and many with better service, routes, and prices than offered on their site/app. If you can’t book a route with more than 3 stars with them, just buy it in person at the bus terminal.

I booked a bus from Hyderabad mehedipatnam to Bhadrachalam The bus was scheduled at 3:15AM for departure but the bus arrived almost 2 hrs late from scheduled time that is 5:00AM and on top of it the driver stopped 2 kms away from the actual location i had to take a auto again

I book a ticket but I want to cancel because they called me and said that my seat is no longer available. But my friend booked after me, she still got the seat? I asked that can I get a full refund because its not my fault, they said yes. But then I got 25k refund for a 150k ticket. I called them a lot and they promise to refund me but its been
2 weeks, they only refund for me 100k more.
Its ok, just 25k for charity. But this was a bad experience

I find redbus as a company that is interested only in making money but not to make sure customers get the money’s worth . I booked a ticket via redbus on SRM transport in a volvo multi axle bus for 840/ ticket. 4 hours prior to the travel SRM called me saying the bus is canceled due to breakdown and they shifted me to a sleeper bus on 760/ticket. Neither did SRM bother to refund the difference nor redbus works . Every time I call redbus to complain regarding this my call goes on waiting for 20minutes and gets disconnected.

Pathetic to see such companies thriving in our country.

Nice to have a RedBus app to book bus tickets. Other options we do have but this one is my preferred one because of discounts receiving. Redbus is not providing as much as discount or close to it as they were providing earlier, but compare to other competitors it’s good

Please fix redBusBusTicketBookingApp not adding passes to the wallet app. It’s continuously giving error that, An error occurred while downloading the pass, please try again. Please do fix that.

The call center options make it just impossible to speak to a person to resolve an non standard issues.
redBusBusTicketBookingApp over the years has become very sophisticated yet functional efficient n intuitive. Great going on that especially from your early days of listing unnecessary payment currency :)

Booking details should appear before credit card details to confirm correctness of booking. My credit is not given in next bookings
