New Look and Feel is Inefficient

The new this app app is designed to make ordering an extremely inefficient affair, compared to the prior version. Gone are the “Past Orders” section and the tappable tiles under each category. Gone is the ability to quickly see the available menu items under each category. You now have to scroll through multiple items to find what you want. You’ve introduced unnecessary taps in the ordering process. All these extra user actions indicate that you aim to grow the amount of time it takes for a customer to complete a transaction in CHOPT , compared to the prior version. This is a poor decision, because now customers will no longer be able to place orders in less than 30 seconds. How many customers will you lose? How many app users will you annoy? How many fewer orders will you now need to only fill? I can’t believe this app decided to allow app-based orders to be become more inefficient—who is going to use your app now? Ordering on your website will now be faster.

Wanna get really really frustrated?

CHOPT is a nightmare! If you order the same thing every time, it stores it for a while and then randomly erases it. If you try to correct a typo in the notes, it erases the whole note. The worst is that it automatically sends the order to what it considers the closest location (which is not even the case since it keeps trying to send my lunch order to a location five miles away even though I'm now within a mile of my usual location.) You can't change the location within the order so you have to start again once you realize it's put in the wrong location. And even though I'm practically at the location where I want to pick up my salad, it doesn't even show that location in the pull down menu!! I've now deleted CHOPT and am going to reload it in the hopes that that will break this vicious cycle. I've never written an online review before but I was driven by frustration to write this one -- this is a horrible app!!!! I wish I could give it zero stars.

This app is complicated..why?

CHOPT is complicated and it shouldn’t be. As I stand here 25 minutes into my wait for my curbside order I start to notice CHOPT lacks past orders tab. Also I would at least whether it’s real or fake have something I can check to see how much time is left before my orders done that’s not present. Then there’s this menu button filled with a whole bunch of things the last thing in 2020 that we need is just more tabs and more random things in front of us keep it simple I want to order food see myOld food and get some updates on my delivery or pick up is done everything else can go to the wind and the wayside come on you’re better than this. And what’s going on with the login why don’t chopped have its own account database why must I login with my Grubhub password and that’s the only only only way you can order online can’t even order as a guest you guys are ridiculous!

Daily CHOPT eater

I've used CHOPT for a very long time, and have been satisfied with it! Recent updates removed the "special requests" box where I could request spinach/Kale instead of romaine...why the deletion? I eat this app for lunch every day, this makes it impossible to customize my salad in a way that has worked for the better part of a year. Can we have that feature added back in? Using the "pickup instructions" box does not work for these types of requests as the line workers build the salad and THEN consult the pickup instructions box. Thanks in advance

The new app is literally unstable

It’s really confusing to find things to order on the redesigned app. Having to click sideways in a section to move one item over is unintuitive and clunky, compared to the old app where I could see everything in a category on one screen. Choosing between a salad and a wrap was also unintuitive. After I finally figured out how to order a Mexican Caesar wrap, I was hit with an error message that was obscured on the screen so I couldn’t even read it to figure out what was wrong.

This is the first time I’ve ever felt compelled to review an app on CHOPT Store, and its definitely a 1-star review, since I literally couldn’t order from Chop’t and had to go with Just Salad instead. I used to love ordering through the old Chop’t app but with the redesign it’s confusing and literally impossible for me to place an order, so now I have to go elsewhere :(

Love chopt!!!!

Not only do I love the salads, I especially love ordering through CHOPT , it is so easy to order and you get a $10 credit applied for every $100 spent, automatically applied. Ive never had any issues with my order when I go to pick up. I will also add that the Greenwhich, CT location is on top of their pick up orders, literally always there for me waiting!! It so awesome, especially for how busy of a location it is. much appreciated! Please add a location in Stamford, CT! :)

Great Food, Horrible App

After searching CHOPT for about ten minutes to find how much longer my order for pickup would take so I could leave work at a decent time, I’ve realized there is not an option to check that. The menu sidebar to CHOPT is confusing and very hard to navigate. Social media information for the restaurant is pushed to the top, while your profile information, including how you pay, is down rather far. Sadly with no option to view past orders other than where they were purchased, lack of fluidity within CHOPT all around, and overall error messages, I’m leaning more and more towards other restaurant options every time I order. The hassle just isn’t worth it.

Why can't I just order my food?

I love this app's restaurant, but their website and CHOPT are awful. I couldn't get to the menu easily from my phone and they recommended CHOPT to me. I installed it and it asked me to add a CC which is fair considering I'm about to order ahead of time. BUT it takes you to a page that gives you two options, get billed monthly OR have it auto charge your CC $25/month. I just want to see the menu and order, I'm not looking for a weird subscription and there's no option to bypass it. CHOPT was so sketchy I immediately uninstalled it. Unless they fix it so that you can order without hassle and fear that they're charging you falsely...do not install CHOPT!

Chopping the goods

Huge fan of this app but CHOPT has got to go - I rated it a 2 because it gets the job done, but they are constantly having issues. Some days it doesn't work and now they don't let you leave additional comments or special instructions so I have to call. Doesn't that defeat the purpose? Oh and they are only supposed to charge me on the 15th of every month but I've had multiple charges the past 3 months. Keep it simple!

Works well, simple to use

I downloaded CHOPT and got setup in minutes. Very clear instructions in setup and ordering, had no technical issues and plenty of options to select from. Arrived at the store and went straight to the register and they handed me my salads — no complaints!

It does seem many reviews here are older, and it seems the latest version of CHOPT fixed many of the basic issues people had flagged.

Needs

CHOPT is good but definitely has room for improvement. The curbside feature is this tiny option when you go to pay but it’s so easily missed. Why not allow the option upfront when you go order.
Also I know you allow for customers to buy just your dressing but it’s not featured on your app

Constructive criticism

I’ve heard this place is good to eat at. I’ve never left a review on an app before, but felt like I wanted to in this case. Take this how you want this app. I was pumped to order food for my wife and I so I called and asked to place an order and they directed me to download CHOPT which i felt was bad customer service, but I did because I was hungry.

I then got to the add payment method screen before I ordered my food which I thought was weird, but did anyways because... I was hungry. Then I went to the next screen where it wants to group bill? Or preload? I turned CHOPT off, deleted it and decided to order Meza. It’s hard to lose a hungry customer. Such a weird experience.

New update is awful

Like others have said, gone is the recently ordered features, which makes things super inefficient for regular customers.

Also annoying is the inability to replace items. Instead of swapping tomatoes for egg whites, you can only delete tomatoes and add the egg whites at additional cost. Don't think I'll be using CHOPT until this is addressed.

Buggy app

App will not allow me to add anything to my order if I choose from past order. Also, cannot add a new credit card. Finally, I created a new order with two of the same items - but I customized one. However, when I go to review my order my customized items do not display. I selected the first salad in the list and it was non-custom. Second salad also non-custom. Delete first salad to start over and now the remaining salad is the custom one. VERY frustrating as I repeated the order 3x and same thing happened. App really needs work.

Please improve UI and order history bug

Overall I like CHOPT and the offering. But please fix the UI to be more intuitive (for example the Chop’t logo as a button really doesn’t make sense) and fix the order history bug. It remembers my order sometimes so I can reorder the same item but after a week or so the order history seems to get cleared making it impossible to reorder. With a customer craft order most of the time this gets really frustrating.

Just want to take this opportunity to warmly say thanks to all the staff members employed at the 56/6 this app location for the model of excellent Hospitality service that should serve as an example to all. They always welcome me warmly and are very attentive to my needs. They make sure that everything from the food they prepare to the service they provide has met my expectations. Thanks again 56/6.

LOVE YOU GUYS

I’ve switched my place of employment and dwelling in the past year, but no matter where I go, the Blakney location is the place to beat for the other places in Charlotte. They have the most friendly faces that don’t hesitate to greet and accommodate as soon as I enter. The salads are just plain ol’ satisfying to this salad lover. I love trying the new salads that come thru as well. Haven’t met a salad I don’t like yet.

An Excellent Culinary Experience

I started using Charlottesville’s this app almost immediately upon their opening more than a year ago. The quality and variety of their salad offerings, combined with attention to detail and unparalleled customer service, produces an excellent culinary experience.

For anyone seeking a great lunch or dinner that is also very healthy, this is the place to go!!

Need more payment options!

This review is just for payment, I haven’t used CHOPT to order. I don’t like the LevelUp concept of charging on the 13th/15th of the month like it’s a credit card. Another LevelUp app that implements this is their Doughnut Plant app. It should give me the option to add money to CHOPT when needed (like Starbucks) or deduct the cost of my meal from my debit card right then and there through Apple Pay or something equivalent. Who is to say that I’ll have the total amount in my account on the 15th? I know I’d have it on the day I go because that’s why I go! Not effective for me at all.

Overcharged for Cobb salad

I ordered a Cobb salad and the default was to have the chicken and bacon that comes in the salad unselected. Those two same items were in fact selected in “extras” adding an additional $5 charge for two items that should come on the salad anyway. Since I had a level up credit I did not notice this error until I went to reorder the same salad at a later date. App is useful, just make sure to check there aren’t additional items added to your meal by default. Pretty disappointed.

Salads are great but...

I was confused about CHOPT initially. The $150 limit monthly billing is a little credit account. You can order like normal and at the end of the month pay your bill. If it exceeds or reaches $150 within one month, you will be at that time. You can opt to pay as you go, but you’ll have to call LevelUp to have them set that up for you manually. And for the first month, you’ll be charged as you order to ensure that the card can be trusted to pay up. Sort of like a month long credit check. This is to save companies on credit processing fees. It’s less expensive to make one $150 charge than fifteen $10 charges. I dig it.

Tiny salad (truly small) $14.28 plus tax $15.23. I need to now go somewhere else to eat. Never again stay away from this ripoff place.
