NRI banking made hassle sum

After taking over from Citi it’s almost impossible to login in app. Now they have started asking to send sms to India number for mobile banking activation (even though it was active earlier on axis app before). So now you can’t access your account since your bank associated number is non-India number which doesn’t have ability to send international SMS to India numbers. How are such customers with no international SMS capability to send SMS to India numbers. Unnecessarily complicated process when one could provide ability to enable it on website (if user can access their accounts online on laptop they can easily take request to activate mobile banking on websites instead of all this SMS business which again makes one doubt of phishing/hacking by user sending sms to some unknown number) And other thing AxisBank requires disabling wifi and eating up your cellular data. No other banking apps require users going through all these hassles.
What’s the use of over burdensome security if it’s going to drive genuine customers business away since UX it’s so bad that customers can’t use AxisBank ? Security process that works for India environment doesn’t mean it will work in other countries and should be same globally.

Bank doesn’t care about NRI

AxisBank requires sending a text message to an Indian number via your registered foreign phone number, every time you log in. It’s impossible when your foreign provider doesn’t support international text on your plan. Moreover when you are traveling to India, you cannot use it either because your international carrier will be offline or on international roaming.
Called the bank support but all you hear is bank policy. This bank needs to start looking for smart solutions and stop being dumb.

Crappiest user experience

Trying to login and use AxisBank and user/onboarding experience couldn’t be more worse.
Sms to activate service never reach axis bank. Sent atleast 10 different times.
App keeps giving error session invalid even though no session started.
After it gives error that activation sms not received, i get option to login using username/password. First otp to validate won’t come unless 2-3 attempts are made. And finally i enter usrname password i get technical difficulty error and i am back to square 1.

In this current setup, it is virtually impossible to use AxisBank.
Support staff is blah at best. Reached out to my RM a week back asking for help and all i heard crickets.

Hope axis bank get their act together soon and this experience becomes bit better.

Axis Mobile - Open App Development Team doesn’t understand NRI accounts

I got AxisBank on July 15th since Axis bank shutdown the mediocre Citi Mobile App. The first thing that “Open” does is to send SMS message to Indian numbers to validate my US number. I don’t have the international SMS service. So nothing happens and I cannot use AxisBank . The mobile app is so poorly designed that it doesn’t provide alternative ways of validating US numbers. So currently I cannot use this GREAT mobile app. I thought Citi mobile app was bad. Now I think it’s 100 times better than Open!

App supposed to be user friendly and have customer support

I’m trying to login to my account since it moved from citi to axis. When I try to login it’s asking me to turn off WiFi (how good the design is, almost everyone nowadays uses WiFi to access everything). It’s trying to link my mobile to account which I already had linked to citi but not getting otp. It’s asking me to send a msg to some numbers but there’s literally no response. Not sure what’s the purpose. I started to doubt we are in digital era. In the name of security basic user friendly functions are not working. Website is timing out in minutes and while trying to login again, getting some weird errors. It’s taking too much time to make even a single transaction of menu selection. Worst app.

Frustrating and Unusable Mobile Banking App - Worst of all apps that I ever used

I have never been more disappointed with a mobile banking app. For NRI customers, you cannot even get past the initial registration or login screen. This group SMS based process is utterly broken and is not working at all. It's a prime example of how someone with no understanding of real-world functionality can create a completely ineffective process design.

I hope developers know about this flaw and fix the login/registration functionality so it can work for NRI users also, otherwise AxisBank is entirely useless.

Terrible experience registering from the US.

I was a Citibank customer that has been migrated to Axis. Internet banking registration and login works fine, but I have not been able to register via the Open App. I use AT&T on my iPhone 13. I send the sms message which times out every single time. I have 3 bars on signal strength, which should be more than sufficient. This has been a terrible experience so far. I miss the CitiBank online App that actually worked. Oh, and don’t bother trying to chat online with support, no one responds. What a joke. I’m switching to a different bank the next time I’m in India.

Useless App

NRI account. Cannot register. First AxisBank forced me to turn off WiFi. Why???? Been using apps from multiple banks and never had to turn off WiFi. Since there was no choice I dienes WiFi off. Then it sends a group MMS to several numbers. Have tried 6 times using my registered number and nothing happens. Absolutely nothing. The timer runs for 20s and the I get a “session expired” message and back to Home Screen. There is no reply to the group MMS. I try again and the same cycle repeats. Have tried 6 times and nothing. Now that the Citi app is decommissioned and this piece of junk app is not working, I’m dead in the water. Just as I feared when Citi sold to Axis. Nothing working. As expected. Ugh. Time to day bye bye to Axis bank.

Worst customer service

I’m trying to close a travel card and get the balance amount. Initially they said that there is no balance at all and after frustrating one month they confirmed that there is indeed balance in my card. It’s more than 3 weeks and the refund process is still not completed. Worst customer service I ever encountered in a private bank. Waste of time. I visited their branches 6 times and made to run from pillar to post.

Worst banking app and worst customer service

This is THE worst banking app, and banking service in general. I can a list a number of reasons and here’s a few,

1. The mobile banking app has a session time out every few minutes. What is the point of giving customers the option to update something as simply as your communication address when uploading a copy of your proof documents takes about a minute each. After every session timeout all the work that you did vanishes

2. Customer service regarding mobile application will pretty much dry your brain give you the frustration like none other. I called the corporate office who connected me to a customer service rep who in turn got me to another god knows who. And eventually that person has no clue who to resolve it and just apologizes

Unable to block my debit card from the mobile app.

Accidentally i lost my wallet and try to block my card from AxisBank it just giving ok when i clicked on submit to block then i called the customer care to reissue new card and he told me that your card is still not blocked and i told him to block it and issue me a new card and after i got call and a person founded my wallet and i got the wallet back.

It is very dangerous security perspective when we depend up on AxisBank in this kind of situation.

Frustrating setup

Unfriendly app ..!! Being in IT for 25 years that line would be my single line assessment for AxisBank. However I understand that it was perhaps not designed for NRI banking - saying that I have been trying to log into AxisBank for about 2 weeks, for some reason I cannot pass through credentials screen, mind you the same credentials work fine when logging through browser, and where do I start with their customer service lines..! Feels like it has to be renamed as “no service to customers”.
HORRIBLE..!! Beginning to regret banking with them.

Time to fix bugs

I'm impressed with the new home screen layout and the trip down memory lane. The low balance alert feature is particularly useful for staying on top of expenses. Hats off to the designers and product team for introducing such innovative designs and functionalities. However, there seem to be numerous bugs, starting from the login process where sometimes a double login is required after updating AxisBank . Additionally, low balance alerts persist even with a healthy balance of 50k, and feedback prompts appear repeatedly after submitting. It's puzzling how the QA manager greenlights such a buggy app. It may be time for Axis to consider revamping the development and QA teams to uphold quality standards. Hopefully, this feedback prompts appropriate action from Axis.

Worst app ever used

I don’t understand on every transfer we do you need feedback. Wanted to understand from you what changes you do on every transfer (does 1 transfer goes through air, other goes to water and other transfer goes through ground so you ask for feedback). Make sure you fire product manager you added this requirement. Idiot don’t understand that axis bank is not the only back who allow mobile money transfer this is very old technology so no need to ask feedback. This my feedback to your asked feedback.

Junk

The Axis bank mobile app is a piece of junk as their net banking. Using the apps made me think that whoever developed AxisBank didn’t think through all the use cases. For instance, I changed my phone (not a number), so I reinstalled AxisBank , and now if I try to log in, AxisBank asks for the password, a good security measure; however, AxisBank wants to send an SMS to some Indian mobile number to finish the registration. I’m NRI; I don’t have a facility to send international SMS. Why do you need an SMS to be sent to some unknown number? That’s not acceptable. The purpose of the mobile app is to serve the customer seamlessly, but I reckon Axis Bank's mobile app has a distinguished strategy that's giving an awful customer experience.

I would give 0 rating if possible

The user experience with AxisBank , customer service and the procedure, verifying protocol everything is designed make you regret having an account with this bank.

I live in the states but AxisBank requires me to have access to Indian SIM card to which it can send message to. How does it make sense ?

I clicked on the customer service option in AxisBank which lead me to a chat session. I was trying to add the screenshots of the error messages but the chat session doesn’t let me. The UI is so pathetic .. it needs the users to upload the doc in PDF format alone.

So as a mobile app user, I need to screenshot the error , convert it into pdf and upload it to the chat session. If I don’t do this soon, the session will expire.

Who developed AxisBank and the protocol? Do they not use AxisBank themselves?

The only thing I could say on a positive note is that I could reach the customer service agent without much wait time.

Never Change Your SIM Card if you are in a foreign country!

I am in another country and not in India for vacation so I had switched my SIM Cards because I was going to stay in another country for 4-5 months. However, when I had inserted my another country’s SIM Card and then put my original Indian SIM Card. The Axis Bank seemed to log me out and not even log me in! I kept on getting overdue payments and started getting charge interests on it! I was receiving SMS Texts and even I could call on roaming but Axis Bank was the only one which did not work!

It's an OK app with all features

AxisBank in general is good with all the features. But there's yet no face ID support! Face ID is built into devices for quite sometime now. That's one major feature lacking. AxisBank layout is not very friendly. I have to go to the main screen to go to other screens. There's no quicker way to shift between menus.

In general it is a basic bank app you can invest transfer etc but with more touches. One touch would be great.

Some features does not appear to work

Got an an email with instructions to update Visa details but did not find anything the way it was described. Need some improvements and correlate instructions.

Suggestion

It so easy user friendly and in just a click you transfer money but my suggestion is please allow operation of saving account along with Current account. Both have different customer ID. If you can link other bank account why not different account from same bank

Used to be nice

Application used to be good. But now it’s hardly usable, because the latest update is causing issue with selecting a different source account when transferring funds.

Near perfect

One of the best banking App out there.

Progressive changes over the last few years has ensured the experience is ever seamless and smooth for the customer. Very secure with instant notifications and alerts to keep you informed at every step. Love it. I am sure there is more to come, but for me this has everything I need.

Always when I used Axis mobile was little uncomfortable but that proves it is very secure. Even though once logged it is really smooth with all operations and really effective

I like this application & banking with Axis Bank. Its more easy for used. One of the fastest banking i seen. I like really to much. Thanks for the Creation specially for Developer. Thanks to the Bank for approved this software. After giving the review name its has ask me my name 5 times. I dont know why???

Great App

AxisBank is great. I have been using it and never encountered any problem. It has a time out feature which I think is good too for security reasons when you leave your phone around and forget to log off. I am sure there is always scope for improvement but as of now. AxisBank works great for all kinds of transactions.
Suggestion: Cheque Deposit using AxisBank would be great and will cut down the hassle of going to a bank and depositing. It will be paperless and probably more secure.
