Don’t go for this solution as it keeps giving issues.
The readers will go offline randomly and the support will say there is network issue, whereas you will be able to see them online in app and on web.

We installed this system in our office 2 ‘months back and we are getting constant issues. I will never recommend it to any one. They are still in development phase, so you will become a test bed for them.

Needs improvements

Kisi requires internet connectivity to unlock doors. This makes no sense. Another lock provider I use can unlock doors from your phone without internet access.

There are times where the internet is intermittent or my phone has trouble connecting and the this app app just doesn’t work.

Additionally, Kisi used to trigger doors as I walked up to them and now will not even open a door if I place the phone directly next to it.

Really worthless

I pay for all these amenities at my apartment that I can’t even access because this stupid app doesn’t work. Every time I try to open a door, it says Kisi needs access to Bluetooth. When I open the apps settings there is no option to allow Bluetooth permission. In my Bluetooth setting Kisi is not there and has not requested permission. Please fix Kisi before I go all Karen asking you to compensate me for not being able to use the stuff I pay for. This is ridiculous. And yes, I have updated Kisi with the most recent update and yes my phone also has the most recent update.

Terrible for business owners.

The hardware is very expensive and mediocre at best. The system shuts down randomly about once a week for no apparent reason. The customer service is absolutely worthless. When we called customer service to address our system malfunction every question was answered with “I don’t know” and eventually the representative just suggested that we hire an electrician to come out and fix their faulty system. We managed to get to a manager eventually who was equally clueless. Absolutely would not recommend this system to anyone who owns a business.

Works inconsistently. Greedy for permissions.

I’m a member at a coworking space that uses this app at its one solitary entry door. When this app works, it’s nice, but far too frequently it fails. Sometimes I’m standing at the door but Kisi tells me I’m not close enough. Sometimes Kisi says the door has unlocked, and the reader pad light turns green, but the door latch remains locked. When I’m in a hurry, I just use the keypad instead. The watch app always just bails when I launch it, saying I’m not signed in (I am), so that promising add-on is totally useless to me.

I have reinstalled multiple times. I have Kisi enabled for Bluetooth and for precise location while open. I will not grant background location permission because it should not be necessary; Kisi endlessly prompts me that “some required permissions are missing”. My boundaries around this permission cannot be that unusual. I don’t think this app intends to do evil things with my data, but I don’t know how seriously they take the risk of a data breach.

What is this app?

Had to download Kisi to go in a door but didn’t end up using it. 2 weeks later I’m cleaning up my apps and i’m asking myself what is this this app app. It asked for my email address when i went into Kisi but didn’t say what Kisi was for. I had to go back here to Kisi store to see that it was a door app. Maybe put some more context in the user interface what Kisi does.

Disappeared on Apple Watch

I placed Kisi on my Apple Watch to open the gym door. It was working fine till recently when it disappeared from my Apple Watch. It will not reload on any Apple Watch space. I erase Kisi and reinstalled and still the same thing. It’s OK on my phone but I preferred it on my Apple Watch. It was easier.

Horrible update

It was working great! Until you sent this update. Now I need one more tap to start the unlocking process: select my place. I have only one! And instead of holding, now I’m required to swipe! It’s definitely harder with one hand using the phone.

Update Jul 17, 2018
Congrats you get two stars back for reducing one tap of selecting places. Now I’ll just complain about the difficult swiping.

Neat solution when it works

I’ve been using this a few years in an office building. It works most of the time and using the pads is slow. There are a few pads that don’t respond to the first tap (or the second, or third…). Honestly I have favorited the doors I use most and unlock them via Kisi . Usually the touch pad brings up Apple Pay but won’t unlock the door. Tap again. And Again. And open the freakin app. The main office pad blinks red for error and then immediately green on the lock.
It works less reliably on my new iPhone 15 pro than it did on the iPhone 8. I’ve tried enabling location on always, Bluetooth, cell data, background updates. Nothing has helped. And it’s faster to use Kisi than it is to tap the pads. I just wish the Favorite screen was the default. Each time I open Kisi I’m at home base and have to click My Office and then open my building (and there’s only 1 choice ). Just keep Kisi on Favorites. It would be even neater if I could sort them in the order that I travel through the building. There are several pairs for double doors.

No key necessary!!!

Although I fear for a day that the power is out, I sure do enjoy the benefits of opening my office without fumbling around for the keys. I have been using this app for over a month and can’t think of anything to complain about or give a consumer warning on. All good thoughts and feelings towards this app.

Version 27.1 crashes. 27.2 works.

The latest version crashes for me and my colleagues. Got locked out of my office. Make sure you always have your physical this app fob. Wait til the next version to update. Otherwise awesome when it works.

Update: 27.2 released and seems to work.

Unable to sign up

Super weird installation process. HAve to use the website to sign up. After clicking the confirmation email I tried to log in but it said my password token was inaccurate but then doesn’t show any rules for the token.

Apple Watch and phone versions work well!

Support pages helped fix problem after new app version kept crashing… just reinstall.

The watch version works well for me, probably the watch app that I use most on my own watch.

You get what you pay for

This is by far the best solution out there. It is not cheap, but the reliability, speed of communication over multiple networks, and locations is just stunning.

Better Gym Security System

Once my local gym implemented this system, the traffic died down a lot which in turn provides a safer environment for cars and a much more peaceful workout!

Awesome technology. Say goodbye to security cards

Anywhere management of any location. Excellent technology, far cheaper than the standard card and badge reader security system. The this app team has definitely worked out those early bugs and transformed the UI into a seamless, easy to use system for both administrators and day-to-day end users. Highly recommend!

Great

The apps great; my new employer uses it. I have a suggestion - implement a widget!! This would make it a lot easier rather than having to open Kisi itself for users using this every day for work like myself.

Camano Island Huddle

Such a great find! Quiet, well appointed, easy access, easy to find. I visit family on Camano from Atlanta several times a year and have always struggled to find an appropriate place to work. The in-laws house, the local breakfast spots and coffee shops, even the library all have been tried without success. Huddle has made all the difference It’s perfect for a laptop and cell phone toting traveler looking for a place to get some quality work done! Affordable too! A real blessing!

Good stuff

Works every time though not sure about the permissions. Either way better than I originally thought.

Forget your keys

Awesome solution. I have a keyless entry system for my building as well as the office. Completely eliminates my need for keys now and is one less thing I have to keep track of. Easy to use is a huge plus. Would definitely recommend this app for all users.
