Not worth the money

I paid for a whole year thinking that ThriftAI would help with identifying items I sell. I work with estates, I shop on antique stores, thrift store and anywhere vintage items can be found. It says it will work to give you the value and show you samples of sales for that item. But man, It’s unreal how often it gives no help. I can hardly ever get ThriftAI to load up the example sites or images that are supposedly like the one I took a picture of, it just sits there saying it’s loading. And when it does load in a rare moment, the items shown have nothing to do with the item I have given them. Furthermore, It gives a value of an item that is not even in my own country’s currency. Then sometimes it’s in my currency. It’s wildly inconsistent. And frequently the value ThriftAI gives, is so far off base when I compare it to other apps or sales that share actual comparatives or the ones I locate online myself.

I had such high hopes for ThriftAI. But at the end of two months of use - it’s just garbage. It adds nothing to help me with my work load. Every single time they do an update I have such hope again. But it doesn’t fix the issues.

I don’t recommend ThriftAI. At all. I wish it was better. I truly do.

Refused to issue refund on accidental purchase of yearly plan

ThriftAI was downloaded for the trial period but wasn’t at all what i was hoping for and i have better results using google lens than i do with ThriftAI. I deleted ThriftAI but it appears I did remix it from all devices or something because i was charged for a yearly subscription! Apple is refusing to refund and the developer Glenn told me that only
Apple can handle
Refunds and his hands are tied. Im a single mom and thats money was for my rent payment so it put me in a really bad spot. Hoping others dont have this issue because it makes me Leary of trying any of these apps after i assumed it was not
Going to charge me for a year of service which i deactivated immediately
So cant even use if i wanted to

do not

I went to see ThriftAI and wanted to try it out. I did not need it ever in life. I thought it was something completely different so I've removed it. I did not know that you have to go into the subscriptions, even though it was a free one and completely remove the subscription even though you're in a free trial they still will charge you the 40 bucks if you do not cancel the subscription properly and they will fight you for your money, even though you erased it the day you had it

Professional beggars

You create an app, lure people into it by all the survey questions you ask, collect that data for market analysis but never show what your platform is really like- whether it’s user friendly, whether you actually provide valuable feedback on the items or not, whether you do comparative analysis and allow to post on other platform or for selling, or do you have a selling platform where you take a percentage commission to run your platform? Immediately after the survey ends you start begging for money even without showing your product! So the user does all the hard work of investing their time and energy and money to travel to places, scan using ThriftAI just to find what? I could do the research myself manually by clicking the pic and checking on eBay and spend less money. Why should I pay you for doing nothing? What are you, a digital Ponzi schemer? Stupid concept.

Very inflexible

My brother died and I asked for a refund of the 1 year charge. I was unfortunately at his deathbed while this was being charged because I didn’t respond. He died of pancreatic cancer after a 2 year battle. When I noticed I was charged I requested twice if I could have it reversed. They said no. That’s their right, but it’s not a good way to treat your customers. If anyone doubts my story I’ll give you my brother’s obit. Can’t believe people can be so selfish over money. I guess I should these days. ThriftAI is mediocre at best. Lots of things missing and room for improvement. Unfortunately I’m not even interested at this point.

Fake reviews, fake app

ThriftAI does the new age thing where they make you tap through 20+ screens at the start with BS questions then start asking for personal info, asking to track you in other apps and inevitably try to sign you up for a subscription INSTANTLY without even trying ThriftAI . You CAN NOT try it without spending money and if you manage to reject the “offer” it locks you to a “special” offer. ThriftAI is an AI scam like all the rest. Just use google images and do your research yall, it takes literally seconds.

They hide bad reviews and pay ai bots for thousands, nobody is using this.

Slow, Frustrating, and Not Worth the Hassle

I had high hopes for ThriftAI, but the experience was disappointing from the start. The setup failed the first time and just froze in “thinking mode.” After restarting, I finally got through setup, but it was painfully slow. I signed up for the free trial to give it a fair shot, but the first item I tried to scan an item it took forever only to fail at identifying it. When I tried again with a different item, ThriftAI forced me to go through the setup process all over again. Same slow results, same failure to identify.

I canceled my subscription immediately—there’s no way this could be useful in a real-world setting scanning items for resale. Honestly, Google search and ChatGPT give faster, more accurate results without all the frustration.

Not free

I downloaded ThriftAI because I seen an ad on TikTok about it and it seems really legit, but it was not when you first opened ThriftAI . You have to answer a whole bunch of questions and then it won’t let you take any pictures or do anything on the actual app until you do a free trial?
I tried many times to click out of the free trial and not buy it, but it literally will not let you off that page and you cannot use ThriftAI unless you do that.

Initially good but then new features cost way more to add to the “premium”

Initially good but then new features cost way more to add to the “premium” I paid a year for. I feel like new features should be included in the premium plan like most plans do for premium purchases instead of always offering new things that are extra money all the time. It’s very slow now to load as well and feels like a waste to have paid now. Use google lens more than using this now.

No Free Version No Can Do plus it's Broke

Was able to do the one item scan during the tutorial and that's it. Will not connect to my eBay in-app. Emailed support haven't seen any response. Declined the paid membership, then a second offer pops up for a whopping $10 discount but you can't skip it or close it. Pay or it can't be used. Been out of work almost a year I Ann indigent and need ThriftAI to make money. If you had monthly plans we wouldn't be having this review. It's of no use to me.

Not there yet

Great idea and I wish it worked well enough to use. When you take a picture there’s no submit pic button so you have to keep taking pictures until it decides you have one good enough I would rather send whatever photos I want to it. Also, default is clothing and you have to change it every time if you are shooting something besides clothing. I will keep an eye on ThriftAI and if they fix these things I will subscribe for sure.

Not that great

First off it was supposed to be a 7 day free trial and they pulled the whole year out of my account. 2nd Ive sent them to emails asking for my money back with no response. So far this is not a good app or company that runs it. Respond to your subscription users. Also the price and item look up is not all that great google does a better job. It’s also hard to connect to eBay to put your items on there. I just want my money back.

Does pick up brands

It’s fairly nice but I’ve had clear labels with names on the bags along with RN. Numbers, App says it’s a different brand or it says it’s a genetic brand. I’ve had Cole Haan, Dooney and Swissthe Army all came back as generic brand with a very low value. Not correct I bought them at Macys full retail. My not keep slim going to test a few more items I’m positive on and decide. Oh and Waterford Crystal came back as “common household” as the manufacture , they were purchased at the Waterford factory in Germany.

Great idea, just not there yet

Two big issues - firstly it’s SLOW. Far too slow to be used when out and about, time is money when sourcing. I was using google lens before this and it’s basically instant, although doesn’t always know exactly what it is - ThriftAI does seem to be pretty accurate which is good. My other issue is it uses LISTED items to determine value. Sell through rate and the actual sold price is what’s important when sourcing, and that’s what I was really hoping for. Websites exist that show sold items only when determining true value, so I know that data has to be able to get for an app

good app, some flaws

really super cool concept—helped me identify the brand of this specific dress i have been looking all over the internet for years. works great. only problem is, it doesn’t tell me where it got its information from (databases, websites, etc) and therefore puts me at a dead end. especially if the brand is incredibly rare like the dress i was trying to find. i do believe that the information it provides is true. however it’s a bit frustrating because it prevents me from digging deeper and expanding my search, given the information the ai bases its analysis on doesn’t give any detail as to where i can find the piece. other than that, super cool idea. bonus points for better identification than google lens. definitely recommend

Saves me steps and time

I have been using ThriftAI for 1 month and I love it. ThriftAI is easy to use and saves me steps when I am out sourcing. You take 3 pictures for clothing items, 2 pictures for other items. It will pull up suggested thrift value, original retail price, and comps from resale sites. It does tend to comp on the lower end, which I think, is a good thing. It also pulls up whether the item is common or uncommon. It’s accurate and saves me minutes of time per item when comping, and those minutes add up! I didn’t give it 5 stars because I would like to see something with the sell through rate on ThriftAI .

Time Saver

So I ran across an ad for this today and immediately downloaded it. I started scanning things in my “death pile” and wow! Each item showed the correct brand and I love all the details. I’m very picky about getting information correct when listing, and I think this might just be the thing I need to get me listing more often. So far, I’m loving it. Sure there are minor things I’d add, but overall as it is now, I give 5/5. Thank you!

Want to be a BOSS!!!!!!

I think this is a real good platform to learn what things are worth and maybe help get you out there to sale some stuff to clear things out of your life that are weighing you down and help your family with getting some of them bills paid so your life is better so thank you A I

Always on point

ThriftAI never let me down. I bring it with me everywhere. That way I could check the stuff even when I'm not at the store comes through in the clutch and I recommend ThriftAI to anybody.

Thrift AI is stupidly good!

Thrift AI is stupidly good—in the best way. Clean setup, fast results, and it actually does what it says without a 3-week learning curve or 47 tutorial videos. It saves time, cuts out busywork, and feels like having a smart assistant that doesn’t complain or take coffee breaks.

What really stands out is how practical it is. No fluff, no hype—just tools that work and keep getting better. If you’re trying to move faster, work smarter, or just hate wasting time (who doesn’t), Thrift AI is a no-brainer.

Highly recommend. Your future self will thank you. 😎
