This new version of SimplyGo makes it entirely useless for visitors to Singapore or those who wish to use non-Singaporean credit or debit cards to top up. This makes the ez-link system ridiculously inconvenient. this app has chosen to remove functionality like Apple Pay top ups and chosen to restrict card top ups to locally issued credit cards only. Top up machines in the train stations also refuse foreign issued cards. Why this is the case is unclear - does this app simply hate foreigners? Or are we expected to this app nowhere? Using your foreign credit card at the fare gates incurs a hefty surcharge - which you are presumably expected to this app ahead and pay. Until this is sorted I’d advise travellers to this app somewhere other than Singapore on their holidays. And for investors and business people to this app and take their money elsewhere.
Unable to add Credit/debit Card on Apple devices, contacted customer support for few days, updated latest app, yet no update from this app!
The updated app got rid of the Apple Pay option. I also tried to sync my previous cards used on the old this app app and it says it’s linked to another account. I’m disappointed as I only have foreign issued payment cards and will have to top up with cash at the kiosks now. Please bring back Apple Pay or at least the ability to top off with foreign bank cards using SimplyGo . This new update makes SimplyGo useless for me.
added my credit card but no idea how to use it to pay for transit. does not seem possible?
Reported 2 months back but still not fixed, although developer claimed that it was. Now claims cannot be made also due to missing timing info which is not editable as it was supposed to be pre-populated from the transaction itself. In case it’s not obvious, I am referring to the iOS version on latest iOS sw version.
This version is ridiculous, cannot use email to login. When I key in my phone number, it requires me to keyin an email, but when I key in my email, it shows that the email has been used! Of course it is used! It is my account! How can I get my account back?
Pls fix it
I am visiting Singapore on business for an extended period and used SimplyGo to manage my train card. Since the latest update it requires logging in with a Singapore phone number which I do not have. Please allow for signing in with email again.
SimplyGo name almost has no relation to the transportation system in SG and it's ridiculously take ages to find SimplyGo when needed.
Used to accept non Singapore number. Now I’m stuck as I don’t really want to buy a local number.
Nice clean interface. Information is all there but the bus stop interface needs to have the timings, not a link to the bus route which then requires selecting the bus direction and scrolling down another 5 pages to find the same bus stop from which I clicked before I can find the time of the next bus. Information is all there, just needs to be intelligently laid out. Could be a 5* app but well... Maybe next version
unable to top up with apple pay anymore
No matter how I setup SimplyGo , I didn’t receive notifications on my phone when I tap the reader
SimplyGo works well but when using a credit to swipe in to the MRT 1 out of 4 entries or exits ends up not getting registered even though there is no problem getting in or exiting the MRT. This results in surcharges and extra charges. There are definitely bugs to work out in this system.
Why why why still no way to use foreign cell nr and card? And why can’t I add funds in guest mode. Everything in SG works amazingly well, please fix this one issue…
It created a folder “this app” on local storage but it never asks for permission, nor does iOS log its entry under “Privacy and Security—> File and Folder”.
I like it that SimplyGo is quite easy to use! One thing though, the list of transactions and it's legend can get confusing..it would be good to see some overview to help commuters better understand how much they're spending on public transport every week/month.
Useful for those using their MasterCard to pay for transport. Few bugs to address:
1. Unable to submit claims for MasterCard users as CAN ID is a required field. End up having to use website to submit.
2. Need a way to clear away all notifications.
3. Usage chart for MasterCard users, similar to what is offered for CEPAS card users.
Easy to check public transport transaction on bank cards. One suggestion is to add the feature of modifying sequence of cards. When I have multiple cards, I need to swipe couple of times to view transactions from the most recently added card.
Great improvement to SimplyGo , now supports CBT cards. However it's missing the express top-up feature from the EZ-Link app which was very useful for ad-hoc top-ups without needing to add a card.
The this app Apis is very easy to setup once you download to your phone. You do need an email and phone number (any country) to register. To monitor your balance, add your this app card number at the back and you are done. The scanning option doesn’t work so it’s better to manually add the card. You add in multiple cards but make sure you give a name for easy reference.
SimplyGo appears generally safe, but use with caution.
