I tried Flownote again and it’s still broken. Yes, you can start the meeting recording but as soon as your device screen falls asleep, everything stops and you lose all your meeting notes. I should just use memo record on my iPhone and not even even bother with this and then send it through ChatGPT. Especially for the price they charge you every week.

Flownote does what it says, mostly. The onboarding makes it seem like it has a lot more features than it actually does. It will record audio and then process that audio into a transcript and a summary. That’s all.

Given that, the pricing seems pretty steep. I know that processing like this costs money, especially for small companies with small user bases, but $7/week or $200/year seems pretty high for what you’re getting. Hopefully the price will come down or they will add a lot more useful features, otherwise I’m not sure I’ll stay a user for very long.

That said, the summary is good and the transcript is accurate. What it does, it does well.

Wishlist:
- Edit the transcript (and reflect those changes in the summary)
- Edit the summary
- Name speakers
- Combine speakers that were actually the same person
- Web or desktop versions

I’m excited to see the benefit of Flownote! Unfortunately, I wasn’t aware that I’d need to keep Flownote screen on & continuously woken up because when my meeting was over and I opened Flownote , the recording had stopped and wasn’t saved and lost all of the footage. :/

I used this app to get a transcript and summary from a DIY craft video I listened to on my laptop because there were instructions and resources I wanted to save and reference later in print form. So accurate and detailed! Flownote is ridiculously easy and intuitive to use. A great tool!

Wow. Flownote is seriously a huge time saver and stress reliever. It allows me to stay engaged during design sessions without worrying about having to write down notes. The transcription and summary are spot on every single time. Thanks for making this

The Transcription was able to differentiate “boing” (the sound) from the virtually identically pronounced “Boeing” (the company), which was a intentional play on words by the speaker. That is difficult for even a human listener! The Summary was able to accurately and concisely capture the context of a lengthy conversation.

Up until this point I have been struggling to write down note and participate in meetings at the same time. No longer the case as this app does it for me!

Easily helps me take notes for long and complex topics and distills it down to notes I can work with

Highly recommend trying it out and paying for a sub. Speaker recommendation is super valuable
