Can’t play w/o internet

Love the game I have it on steam so I immediately purchased the entire game, problem that I have is that even if you buy it you can’t play it offline bc it needs to authenticate every time I open it. Does not feel like I bought the game if I am restricted from playing it when I want.

Great

I haven’t had much time to play the mobile version, but I’ve played the pc version, and it’s one of my top 10 favorites.

The Perfect Mobile Game

Mobile gaming has needed this forever

By

A Beautiful Waste Of Time

Exactly what I was looking for. Very fun very addictive. Keep it up. Thank you.

By

Gonna be amazing

This is one of my favorite games on steam and I’m exited to play it mobile!

By

I love you Shapez IO

This is the best video game I have ever played
Again thank you for this amazing game ;) !!!!!!

By

Doesn’t translate to mobile

The game feels very choppy, if you have the opportunity I would highly suggest getting this game on steam instead of paying 4.49 here for the full game.

By

Looked really cool

Not many factory games but this one is pretty good

By

120hz support please

The game is great but please have a toggle like a “battery save/performance mode” to support ProMotion displays. 60hz is very jarring

By

Autism approved

I have autism and this game is epic

Worst tutorial ever

I downloaded the game just to find that the tutorial did not tell me how to play the game. Very disappointing.

By

Game crashed and erased the factory

I had really been enjoying this game despite the occasional bugs I was encountering (the rotators would sometimes turn a half piece into a full piece instead of rotating).

However, today I opened up the game and it crashed and then when I was finally able to get Shapez to open it had erased my entire factory. All of my achievements and levels stayed but all of the time I had put into making my factory was lost. Very disappointed but hopefully the developers can fix the problems because Shapez was really fun when it worked.

By

AWESOME

I used to play this when I was younger in 2019, and I was so sad that I couldn’t get the full version. Now that I can get it on mobile and pay for it easily on my phone, I can finally play the entire game!

By

Phenomenal game

I’ll have to admit, it is much, much more than I expected. I’m really loving how satisfying this game is. I’ve been looking for a decent mobile factory game, and here it is.

Great work!!

By

Fun enjoyable until controls enrage you.

Played on iPad, fun! Played on iPhone 8, runs fine but the controls can get frustrating, especially trying to scroll or zoom in build mode.

By

Pre-ordered and still have to pay for full game

Otherwise, I’ve really been enjoying it.

By

So good

There is a powerful feeling when you get a full conveyor belt more addicting than actual addictive substances.

By

Fun, but missing features and bugs

I love this game, and you should play it if you like factorio, satisfactory, etc.

There are some bugs when placing conveyor belts among other things, nothing game breaking just a bit frustrating.

Also you have to buy the full version to make blueprints (copy paste parts of your factory), and I wish there was an undo function.

Overall great game!

By

Whacky controls

The core gameplay that makes the game so great is here, but the controls can be very frustrating sometimes.

By

Apple Pencil not working

The games looks great. It’s kind of frustrating that the Apple Pencil only seems to work randomly throughout the game, and only like 25% of the time.

By

Lost everything but progress

Err… was having fun, then all placeables disappeared on a save at lvl 17. Why continue playing if there’s a mystery chance everything except progress gets randomly wiped away?

By

AMAZZZZZING

I love this game. So refreshing to have a factory game with a simple design. It challenges you while being very relaxing. LOVE IT.

By

A good mobile port of this game

(Note for devs: The multi-place tool does not work on belts. It closes the tool after you press the check mark, even if it was locked.)

This game looks and controls very well on mobile. It's a bit slow in the beginning, because accessing the deleting tool or placing things is slower, but it is just as good as the full game.

I previously complained about needing to pay for it again and not being able to place multiple, but asking $5 for the mobile port after putting so much work into it is more than reasonable, and I found the tool to place multiple of the same building.

By

Best of it’s Genre

If you’re a fan of procedural “factory layout sim” genre games… games like Satisfactory, Factorio, or even Minecraft to an extent, (and you have a PC) then you’ve probably already played Shapes or at very least heard of it.
Shapes is the purest, most distilled version of this type of game, and executed exceptionally well.
I have lost many hours with the PC version, and have been looking forward to enjoying this iOS version.
I’d you’re at all into logic, process or organizational styles of games, you will definitely enjoy Shapes. Very satisfying.

By

Very fun but some annoying bugs

The game is so much fun and is a very good adaptation of a factory game for mobile devices. There are a couple of very annoying bugs though.
1. When copy pasting blueprints, orientation of belts is not always preserved, and sometimes it is actually impossible to get belts to split the way that you would like without building the components in a specific order.
2. Chainable extractors unlock but then you can’t use them.
3. Once you purchase the full game, you can’t play offline as it thinks that you haven’t unlocked it. This is a perfect game to play on an airplane except for this.

By

Relaxing Factory Builder

Loving Mindustry and Factorio, but wish there was more time to focus on the building, and less combat pressure? Then this game is for you! Puzzle your way through increasingly complex production set-ups, unlock new automation parts, upgrade existing assets through delivery, and try to set up a factory that’s reconfigurable to handle whatever the next ask is. This game has all of the factory building fun without any of the combat pressure!

By

Worth it

This game is amazing, and the mobile port is better than expected. $4.99 is well worth it for the full version. Quick question though, do you plan on making the Puzzle DLC on mobile too? If you do make the Puzzle DLC, will you add more non-community generated puzzles? I understand that this game is not your main priority but it would be pretty cool. 5 stars regardless.

By

Good game but..

I bought this game originally on pc, it’s an amazing game that’s very relaxing, BUT I thought my $10 purchase of the “full” game would allow me to play it here once I found out it was coming to mobile, but I cannot sign in to use my “full” game that I purchased but instead I have to spend another $5 to play the game I bought. 😕

By

Fun with glitches

This is one of my favorite games, but their are some glitches. The one that’s been annoying me the most is a glitch with the stackers. This glitch over stacks some of my Shapes. For example if I’m using one stacker I sometimes end up with a shape with 2-4 layers, if I reload the game it sometimes fixes it, if this could get fixed it would be amazing.
Thank you for reading

By

Great game but some improvements

I love this game on pc and am excited for this app 2 and also was excited for Shapez. I think it’s pretty great overall but I wish it was more compatible with an Apple Pencil. I just think the game would run much better if I could use my pencil to make paths and move the screen seamlessly. Hopefully in the future they can update it to work better!

By

Extremely clunky controls - seems unfinished

I love this app but this is missing a ton of QOL features that make it not fun to play. I would definitely wait for it to be improved some more, and I’m disappointed I paid for the full version.
- Laggy on iPhone 14 Pro Max, needed to limit the FPS to 30 manually
- Can’t have more than 1 conveyor belt feed to a different belt seemingly
- Can’t place more than 1 machine at a time, lock mode doesn’t let you place and confirm multiple machines at a time
- Can’t “draw” items on screen in place mode
All of these things make building and transporting more tedious as I find myself fighting the UI more than anything.
This game feels unfinished, I wish it had more time before it came out. In the meantime I would recommend playing other similar games better suited for mobile.

By

Online Requirement

I would purchase the full unlock option if it did not require online access. This seems like a good game for travel where internet access might be limited.

Looking forward to such an update!

5 Star Game, But

Got this on my computer years ago and it’s still great, I’ve been waiting for a mobile port for a while but I have a couple of recommendations, 1 Add JS mod Support from pc, and Let us Use PC saves to continue our saves. And try to let us use 60hz and 120hz. Thanks Playdigious for the Port

Best Mobile Factory Game

I’ve always loved this game on pc but when I heard it was coming to mobile I couldn’t wait to play. It plays so well on the iPad and is already a favorite game on my mobile devices! Can’t wait to play the second game!

By

Great game with a few bugs

I love the concept and it is generally well executed.

I have hit a few bugs, specifically:

* The cutters don’t behave properly, most of the time if you chain them, they don’t actually cut, and only one output will flow. This makes it very hard to get quarter pieces! Sometimes they start working if you leave to the main menu and come back.

* Maybe I’m not using them correctly, but if I try to use a blueprint, it creates the copy, but then trying to move it, it disappears without being placed, but your blueprint tokens are spent!

By

Best Game Ever

I’ve played many of hours on Steam and instantly bought the full game for my phone. Can’t wait to take this game everywhere I go now. Keeping a close eye on the second one coming out 😋

By

Shapez Enthusiast

Just browsing though app store when I seen this, I’m excited that it being released on mobile. I hope its just as good or better then the Pc version!

I will add more feedback and requests as the updates come out.

Side Note:
I understand its newly released so bugs are to be expected. I have a couple of requests if possible. Refund your purchase prompt and the building editor’s drag select is janky.

By

Too many bugs and not as fun

As much as I love and adore this game the mobile version is simply too buggy and not as fun as if I were to play it on my PC. It takes a lot longer to place and delete things, belts connect when I don’t want them to, and its simply easier to just use a computer. Its a waste of $4 just buy it on pc.

By

Most creative factory-style game I've ever seen

Every factory piece is free to place once unlocked. You never need to worry about running out of funds for more machines or conveyor belts, so you can focus on optimizing your output. There's no limit to how shapes can be assembled (unlike other games where only certain blueprints can be made). I don't know if I would exactly call this a sandbox, but it feels almost as freeing, with just enough goals and limitations (the limiting factors being how fast different machines run and how far away some resources are) to keep it engaging.

By

Amazing game, small bug

Amazing game, you can lose yourself for hours coming up with new designs.
I noticed when I build a compact blueprint and copy it, the conveyor belt connection will often shift to something different than the original connection. Not sure if anyone else noticed but kind of annoying.

By

Game stopped loading on my ipad

The minute I saw this game was on Shapez store, I jumped on it because I was addicted to the desktop version. There were some glitches (like the sorters changing size or the game not recognizing I switched to a new tool) but not enough to make the game inoperable. But I made it to level 13 and turned the game off for a little bit. I came back and I can’t re-enter my save, the loading circle just spins endlessly :(

By

100% recommended… when they fix the saves.

Bought the game, made it to level 14, then my save corrupted? Amazing concept that was executed perfectly. Only problem is the world saves will randomly not load… ever again. On top of other small bugs. Periodically updated so hopefully it’ll be fixed soon. Still gonna continue playing and it’s definitely worth trying the demo.

By

Why is the auto save worthless?

This is a fun game and I enjoy playing it. But when it crashes - yes it crashes - I lose hours of creativity because the auto save is useless and doesn’t actually save the game every two minutes like I have instructed it to. Why!!!!!!!

By

I love this game!

This is the best assembly line puzzle game I’ve ever played. It provides endless hours of entertainment and although there is some waiting required, there is always something to do or optimize while you wait.

By

Fun

I’ve been playing this game since the free demo when my computer broke I was devastated that all my progress was lost when I found out there was a mobile version I was extremely excited to play this app again. After a while I beat the first few levels and then the game was over. I was disappointed that unlike the demo after you finished the upgrades to the hub the game ended and locked you out of your save file. As I know the game and love it it was an easy purchase but new players such as myself to the mobile version will probably delete it. It would be great if you (the developers) could allow the factory to continue the factory without any further upgrades allowing the player to explore the game further while keeping the player behind a pay wall and further inclining the player to pay for the upgrade

Five star game done in by broken save/continue bug

The touch controls are awesome once you get used to them. The design of the original game is awesome. Despite game-breaking save/continue bug, I have played significant hours enjoying this game… up to the point that I feel I am kidding myself that “This run it will be different.” Then I load up to continue my progress and all my progress is gone! Will gladly update to a 5-star review when this game-breaking bug is fixed.

I have tried to overcome the autosave/continue bug by painstakingly manually naming a game file, being sure to explicitly exit to the main menu, then immediately reloading the named save to ensure it is there before leaving a lengthy session only to return the next day to load the named game to find all my progress is gone. I give up. Will keep an eye out for an update but am done for now. 😥

Great game if you know what to do

Love this game, known it for a long time and was thrilled that they came out with a mobile version. Was so confused on the later levels and realized that most people may need a tutorial to get past level 16-21, and the game also has plenty of bugs, the most annoying of which is— the game won’t save. My auto save interval is 1 min, saves every ten. If I try to exit to the title screen 50 percent of the time it won’t save OR go to the title screen, and I have to lose 10 minutes of progress (friggin autosave) because I have to force-quit Shapez . Would give five stars if there weren’t really annoying bugs.

Great concept with too many game breaking bugs

Love the game at its core, but I cannot look past the horrible bugs. My first world (lvl14) got corrupted so I had to start all over, probably due to the game shutting down in the background with a proper save.
Every time you copy paste factories that have tight conveyors, they always get mixed up on which way to go or even if they should be pasted at all. This is fine, just means I have to do more work.
Now I’m on lvl 18 and it’s asking for a 3 layer object. I stack the first two layers without any issue, but when I go to stack the next layer on top, it puts it on the bottom. I thought I made a mistake and switched up the conveyors. Same shape. So, apparently for this, it doesn’t matter what orientation or inputs I use, I cannot get the mission item.
Restarting Shapez did not fix this.

Honestly, if you love factory games, you’ll like this one, but you’ll get mad when it decides to break down on you.

great game, weak port

this app is a fantastic game, but this port leaves a lot to be desired.

my save apparently got corrupted after idk how many hours in. at a certain point the game would chew through my battery at like 2% per minute. the interface is buggy — you can click on pinned shapes and map pins even if they aren’t displayed, sometimes you’ll place things and they don’t actually get placed even though it looks like they do, copy/paste is a bear (scrolling/navigating in general) and once in a while a paste will bug out and you won’t be able to paste without restarting the game. restarting the game takes about five minutes, especially once your factory gets bigger. sometimes splitters don’t connect to tunnels; sometimes they do, but only one tunnel at a time. about 50% of the time when you switch apps, the game will need to reload, which is a huge hassle if you’re trying to copy a balancer.

that said, it’s hard to find good games on Shapez store, especially in this genre. it’s not so bad that i won’t start a new save, but it feels like the port was not tested enough. it’s still a good time sink, but the long loading time makes it impossible to just pick up and throw down some conveyors in between life.

i don’t necessarily regret the $5 purchase, but i probably wouldn’t spend it knowing what i know now.

iphone 12, latest ios.

Great Game - But glitching

Love the game and want to play it as much as possible. But what's keeping this a 5 star review is that the game keeps glitching out on me around Level 14. I'll have pieces I try to delete that are visually still on scree. Seems to happen most with the color extraction. Eventually a glitch will happen that corrupts that save game and I can't get back in if I close out. Not sure if it's the iPhone 12 or iOS 17? But it's frustrating having to restart at the very beginning every time.

Plans to improve framerate?

I was super excited to see this game come to mobile considering how successful it has been on other platforms. However, I was disappointed to see the game locked at 30 fps. Compared to the 120 hz refresh rate of iPhones, Shapez’s framerate is immediately noticeable. That being said, I understand this iteration is early in development and more changes are in the works. Are there any plans to address this framerate in the near future, or is this a low-priority concern?

By

Yawn

Mildly interesting concept, but oh my gosh…….talk about grind. You have to wait while your factories S L O W L Y produce the gadgets while the number of gadgets required to fulfill the level objective grows exponentially! I went from, “huh, this is crazy, why should I have to watch while my layout makes 30 more of these?” To “ What? I have to make 70?” To “140?” To “ Forget it! I’m not waiting while this produces 360 of the same things!” (And that was by level 6 - how many do they expect you to make on level 90?). Yes, I know you could lay out several production lines to produce more of the same thing, and if that’s what you call fun, this game might be for you. For me, once I’ve solved the puzzle, I am not going to do it 10 times over simply so I can still wait the amount of time it takes to make the 30 on the first level. No Thanks, deleted.

Blueprints are broken

This game is a fun and addicting concept, building off of Factorio, Mindustry, and Builderment. However using blueprints is extremely buggy: belts get really messed up if you rotate, and sometimes you can’t stamp at all. You have to force-quit Shapez and endure the long boot time again. Sometimes selections get stuck and won’t go away. I would think they’d have these kind of issues worked out when they are at the stage of charging money for the game. Other than that it is a fun and addicting game.

By

Great idea, but…

When I downloaded this game I instantly realized that it was very laggy, about 20fps, on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I somewhat got used to it. Second, it is terribly annoying when I am panning in build mode, as it automatically pans to my first built node after only like a second, making it pretty difficult to move around for me. Third, I had no option to review how to mix colors when I got to stage 9. I accidentally instantly exited out of the tutorial screen when reaching stage 9. It would be nice if I could go back and see it. Finally, and most annoyingly, I can’t load back into my game. The menu screen only has two options: Continue, and tutorial. When I tap continue, it does nothing. There are no saved games under these two buttons. I would have, frustratingly, started a new game, but I see no option to. I’m not sure if some of these problems are only native to me because there are so many positive reviews and ratings. For a $7 mobile game I shouldn’t be having this many complications. $7 wasted unless this is fixed

A very good phone game.

I loved the pc version, and I’m having a lot of fun playing through again on mobile. It’s a really good fit for a phone game, you can always kill time by expanding/optimizing some process and it’s pretty easy to parse what’s going on when you put it down in the middle of something and come back later.

My one complaint is that the ui is a little fiddly. It’s really effortless to do complex tasks on the pc version, and just a bit fussy to do on the touchscreen- especially running long conveyors. I don’t know if I can really fault the game for it though, it’s naturally a more limiting interface and it’s certain perfectly usable.

All in all, I’m happy to see this game on mobile and it’s definitely worth the asking price.

By

Can’t get into it due to choppy performance.

These Unity games are not optimized for iOS, every time I use the controls I just wish I was playing on a pc for which this was clearly optimized. The refresh rate feels like it’s either capped or forced by low frame rate to 20 hz. I know it’s easy to develop with Unity, but it’s not just plug and play, the developers need to work on real optimization before it delivers a similar experience.

While this is exactly the type of game I would sink some good time into, it’s pretty out of the question buying the full version for me, knowing that I would just be disappointed in the choppiness that occurs even without any significant load.

By

Fun until it isn’t

The game play itself is challenging, addictive, and fun. But it is extremely, and fatally, buggy. Bad enough that you have to destroy and then rebuild tunnels to restore flow after random process flow failures; worse that you have to close and reopen the game frequently to continue play; worst is having saved file corrupted (happens during Edit mode), so even after a full app restart the corruption reappears and makes continuation impossible. I’ve given up waiting for an update to resolve this … don’t waste your money unless you’re seeking intense frustration. If it ever were to work reliably I would give it 5 stars, but as it is now 2 stars is generous.

By

Simple and devilishly clever

That sounds counterintuitive but tbh is game is a great example of what you can do with a beautifully simple idea. It’s a really interesting game and you’ve got freedom to figure out your factory as you want. It’s 100% strategy and planning and fixing where you went wrong. It’s a really great phone game.

The controls can be a bit clunky at first but you get used to them. That’s really my only criticism. Well worth the $5, or however much it was.

By

LOVE this game, but Constantly Crashing

I absolutely LOVE this game. There is something so relaxing and addictive about this game. However, it crashes a lot in the upper levels. By around level 20 it becomes basically unplayable. I’ve played the computer version of this game and it is so much better. I’m hoping the iPad version will get better over time.

By

Won’t load (IPhone SE) [update {2}]

I have always loved this game, always interesting,(a bit grindy but still fun) and I got a phone recently and decided why not get this app on mobile? Downloaded it, (I have restrictions on my phone, (In-app purchases are not allowed) but the in app purchases are not allowed screen pops up twice, I say ok to both of them but then when those are gone, I wait 5 minutes, but it still doesn’t load… Sorry for the one star review, I think the game is great, I just can’t play it! Sorry for the bad review earlier, it works fine now idk why :/

Wish the full version costed less if not any money

By

Great game but a few bugs

Love the game played it on pc and was excited when I saw it on here! It is great but there are a few annoying things such as trying to layout belts can be hard to get just one belt to make a tight turn and not go the wrong direction. The other thing is when you use tunnels even tho they are the same speed as the belts they will slow down the capacity of the belts which can make It tricky to keep efficiency without having any belts overlap. Love the game tho!
