Missing the point

A video tutorial maybe? But this is not body doubling. Who ever made these videos is kind of missing the point of body doubling. The videos are short, with the steps described rather than acted out for a lot of them. These videos are SHORT, like 15 seconds. You cannot watch these videos while doing the tasks at all.

I started with room clean, their room is spotless, only like 2 cups and a small piece of trash. So naturally it takes her 20 seconds to pick up all trash. This is completely unrealistic for 90% of ND individuals. The whole point of the word ‘doubling’ implies we are doing the same thing at the same time. This is just a paid video of someone saying ‘pick up your trash’ and then you having to do it on your own. Don’t bother.

App froze

I just wanted to let you know that dubbii froze on the second screen and I was not able to actually see anything beyond the intial video explaining what dubbii does.
I phone 14.

Want to use it

I want to use it, but I can’t get past the choosing one for free part. Yes I do have autism sprinkled in with my ADHD. I can’t decide which one to pick for free. I feel like it’s a lifetime commitment. What if I pick the wrong one and I don’t like dubbii ? I’ve downloaded dubbii twice now once when it first came out and once today. And I get all the way to the screen where you have to choose one. And I can’t choose one. I love you two and I hope one day there’s an intro or a video during which you can sample a 2-3 different activities. I’m stuck between dishwasher and organizing the wardrobe. But I also need paperwork but can’t imagine how it only lasts for 5 min when I have a mountain of paperwork. Maybe you would consider brief snippets of the activities in a YT video? Not giving away the product but helping us understand better what it is. Just trying to think of ideas to help people like me that can’t commit. 🤦‍♀️

A suggestion

I have Audhd and I absolutely love this concept! You’re amazing for making this a possibility.
One of the ways I feel this could be improved upon is adding another option for sound, specifically “chatter”. It’s hard for me too look at people and when I’m busy the visual aspect of seeing you do the task while nice doesn’t motivate me. I would love to hear speaking, and it doesn’t even have to be about anything specific, rambling on about what you’re doing; the weather; or some fun fact about sharks would be great! Thank You and keep being awesome!

Love the Concept, need Larger Screen Capabilities

I’ve just opened dubbii (after having downloaded it a month ago and then forgetting I had it) and so far I love the concept and 90% of the execution. But where there’s a huge disconnect for me is that when I, say, call a friend to body double they’ll usually talk to me while I complete a task, and so while my brain is occupied in listening and trying to answer a conversation my body is able to take care of tasks. I get this isn’t practical for dubbii , but then I miss out on the other part of body doubling which is having someone in the room with you. The body doubling screen is so brilliant, but so small — I find myself needing to hold my phone to trick my brain, but then I just end up doom scrolling. An app for a smart TV might be too big of an ask, but a way to “cast” or “stream” the body doubling footage to my TV would be so helpful because as Rox works, I can work. Anyways — I really recommend anyone to just try dubbii out once, my problems might not be the same as yours, and the concept is so, so cool. Thank you!

There for me.

dubbii is a great addition to the scaffolding I’ve built in my life to help me navigate the challenges of ADHD. I’m so glad to have it. I couldn’t get my yearly subscription fast enough! Thank you for making this app. It started helping me right away.

Wish I wasn’t broke lol

Just tried dubbii for the first free video and it seems so lovely, useful, and genuinely helped me!! I understand needing to make it paid but I unfortunately don’t think I’ll have the funds for another subscription any time soon 😭 if y’all ever have some free content on there or maybe a pay once feature I would love to know! I can tell there’s been a lot of love put into it ♥️

Thank you so much!!!

I have been recently diagnosed at age 42 with ADHD and I am a woman. Getting through my chores with kids over the years has been a struggle. I am so thankful for dubbii as this has let me off the struggle bus. This morning was the first time I actually had an accomplished morning!!! Will be continuing and hoping this will break my ADHD paralysis. So happy to have found dubbii :)

Thank you!

I struggle so much with housework and hygiene routines. It’s all just chaos in those departments. Last night, with the help of this app and the recently added “nighttime routine” task, I washed my face for the first time in… a long time. Weeks maybe? Thank you so much for dubbii. I didn’t know how magical body doubling could be! Highly recommend.

Love

I love dubbii so much and it’s so helpful to have someone walk you through the task. My mom used to do it but being in my 30’s now that’s not really an option 😆. Just showed this to my kids and they are also excited to give it a try.

It’s a game changer!

dubbii is so incredibly helpful! I use it when I catch myself putting something off and it’s the perfect motivator to get started. I particularly like the autoplay option - it brings my focus back if I get side-tracked with a “task multiplier”

So grateful for this app

Single mom, ADHD, working fulltime, trying to keep my house in “good enough” order — dubbii is a godsend! They are so sweet and cheerful. I always follow along with Rox because she’s my ADHD gal, and it makes cleaning everything a million times more doable. And fun! (Also a bit less lonely since I am the only adult in my house.) Highly recommend for anyone who could use some focus and encouragement for cleaning their house — even would be great for neurotypical folks who want to use neurodiverse life hacks. Would give 8 million stars if I could!

Lifesaver

I never, ever get around to writing reviews (cuz ADHD) but I just had to take the time to write one for this app. Rox and Rich have made the most perfect app for me. Even something so simple like the first step of the Morning Routine, where you sit up and take some deep breaths and let in/turn on the light, has gotten me out of bed when I’m in hibernation mode and can’t seem to do anything (even if I’m using it at 7 pm when I’ve been lying around doing nothing and it’s definitely not morning anymore). It’s like having a couple of great, supportive friends who really get me and are always available because they are teenie tiny and live in my phone. Thank you so much for making dubbii!!!

Excited to use, but not accessible for this blind person.

Why am I giving this a five star review when it’s impossible for me to use? Because I believe in dubbii and the people who are developing it. I know that about 10% of people in the United States where I live are blind and I don’t know what the percentage of people with ADHD is, but I’ve got both. I was able to download dubbii and choose clean the kitchen as my free task, but when I go to try and do the task, I click on who to follow and then it just never seems to let me do it I don’t hear like start task. I think the button to do that might not be labeled so that voiceover will let me know what it is. I’m looking forward to being able to use dubbii and to follow along with you guys :-)

Amazing and validating

This feels like an app genuinely designed to help people, and I rarely see those. The price is relatively affordable, and egads, it helps me so much. You can expect to be spoken to with respect, understanding, humor, and encouragement. Seeing a real home, not the immaculate, styled home of an influencer, and working through the chore together was low key life changing for me. I started with cleaning the bathroom and that baby is cleaner than it has been in AGES now, and I feel so good about it. It is easy for me to say, “okay, you just did the one room. Now power clean the whole house. You really should.” But eff that. In the words of Rox, better done than perfect. If you don’t have it in you to do everything, do SOMETHING. You’ll feel better for it. Thank you for dubbii.

Genuinely makes a difference!

Downloaded dubbii on impulse and honestly, I’ve gotten multiple made beds, days with appropriate meds, clean rooms, and more out of the subscription.

Something I love is learning other people’s routines for a task, which adds to the dopamine because often the suggestions are really good, and I learn something to make a whole mandatory part of my life better in the future. Like just the reminder to breathe and wash my face after waking up before scurrying off into my day improved my morning a lot.

Thanks y’all. This is a good one.

And if you’re on the fence, try it! :)

Shower Buddy

I cannot express how grateful I am for dubbii. For anyone who suffers from executive disfunction, this has been saving my life and sanity. When I saw they had made videos for showering I broke down in tears. Due to CSA the shower is triggering for me. These videos have been the most comforting and effective in years.

this app has removed so much stress and guilt from my mind. Thank you for such a wonderful app.

This actually works. You will feel successful

I wasn’t sure when this first came out. Body doubling with somebody else in my place works great but someone on my phone I wasn’t so sure. But it turns out Rox and Rich literally break cleaning or any task into bite-size pieces so that you can actually do it. Even if you’re just sitting there watching for a little bit, you’ll get motivated to get up and start doing it. ADHD paralysis is in full force. This is a way to break through it. Even if I don’t use dubbii every day I definitely do use it for cleaning and I’m incredibly grateful and I recommend dubbii to other ADHD’ers all the time. I wish some of the cleaning ones were longer than they are but they are getting better with new content and making them longer, which is great because we need that. This is phenomenal and I can’t thank you all enough.

Life saver

This has been the first time I have actually remembered to use dubbii and omg it helped so much. As hard as it is for me to get things done just cause I just can never seem to it was so much easier feeling like someone was there with you helping you with the task so instead of it feeling like a chore and unmanageable it made the task more fun. I’m someone with a learning disability, ADD, and I’m on the autism spectrum. Before dubbii it was like I knew what I had to do but I’d almost avoid it just cause it was so much work to do the task. After dubbii I just find what I need to do and then the this app takes me through step by step of how to do it correctly and efficiently. I still can’t believe what I have accomplished in such a short amount of time. Something that usually takes me sometimes days has only taken me a few minutes. For once in my life as crazy as it seems I feel such a sense of achievement. I would recommend dubbii to anyone that struggles.

Love it!

dubbii is helping me get so spiffy and organized. I love the breakdown of steps and it gets me over my task paralysis. If it takes me a lot longer to do a step then I switch over to the body doubling and then come back to the steps. I also use the long ones like the room of doom or the study one when I have a big job that most people wouldn’t have. It is really great working alongside such nice people.

So helpful! (W/ or w/ out ADHD)

When I cleaned my apartment I would get so overwhelmed and sidetracked and then never finish it all and feel so defeated. Having all of the steps broken out really helps me focus. Reiterating what one of the other reviewers said, this makes me feel like I’m entitled to celebrate small wins and don’t need to do it all in one day. Also appreciate that the creators are real people who are genuine in their desire to help others and not just a start-up looking for a niche market.

My 6 yo loves it!

Thank you so much for creating this. I am a single mom with ADHD with an ADHD son who I have known for awhile needs a body double. But truth is, I just can’t always do it and stay sane. So this morning I handed him the morning routine and said he could get ready this way and to meet me downstairs when he is ready for school. Not only did he do literally it all, but wanted to watch all the videos he could and can’t wait to clean his room when he gets home! You two are the best!

Validation: showers are exhausting

I thought I was the only one that hated showers but took them as often as I could force my self. Sure, taking out the trash and room of doom is awesome and I have definitely used those videos. But the one that I keep coming back to is the shower. When I heard Rox say ‘so much effort showering’ (for the first time), I thought ‘I’m not the only one!

Other things I like:
There are two styles of doubling. I tend towards Rox, because she has ADHD and reminds us of things that I seem to always forget (get the towel and put on deodorant). Rich is also great.
I love that I feel like they are having conversations with me as they go along. (Except in the shower, that’s quiet).
I love the celebration at the end and the badges.

Also, as a plug for their content, they explain things so well. I feel like Rox explains it the way I’m thinking, then Rich explains it how I would like to but can’t articulate it to non-ADHDers. And I thank you! This late diagnosis adhd mom with her adhd son loves you all the way from the US in South Carolina!

Thank you for taking a chance and opening up!!!

Thank you.

This has helped me start a nightly routine!! I haven’t flossed in MONTHS and yet just having my favorite ADHD YouTubers doing it with me made me feel like I could. Some people may say there isn’t enough tasks for the cost but maybe this isn’t meant for those people. For those of us who struggle to get the basics consistently, I want to say thank you for using what used to cause you shame to help us get over our own shame as well. I am feeling so much better about taking care of myself and I look forward to doing some of these tasks because I know I have friends to help me. Please don’t ever forget that you both are helping so many of us.

Thank you!!!

Thank you for making an app that isn’t trying to take advantage of my ADHD! I can’t wait until I have the extra money for a subscription (which is totally affordable at $29.99 for the year btw it’s just the holiday season so I have to wait). I was wondering if in the future you might include something to help breakdown larger, less specific tasks? Or just have a random body double for whatever we might need it for? I’m talking like reorganizing the closet in the hall or tackling the (very scary) basement/attic storage. Or cooking dinner or exercising. Because some tasks are harder for you to break down for us or they’re unique to a person but it would still be helpful to not have to do them alone. Like you could offer words of encouragement or take breaks with us and still help us stay motivated? Also any tips for making a routine/schedule? Breaking down how to make a monthly calendar? Just a few ideas! I hope it’s helpful! And I REALLY look forward to the self-care update! I’m so excited to sign up as soon as I can! Thank you!

Simple, Effective and Gives Me Hope

I lose track so easily and to have people by your side helping you truly makes a difference. Thanks for dubbii!

What my 39 yo Executive ADHD brain DESP NEEDED!

Love love love! This garbage now takes me 30 min instead of 3 hours and my God does a clean home feel good. Have only tried one bedroom cleaning but I’m less overwhelmed and much happier.

Love it!

Love, love love love love it! What could be better than cleaning with Rox? Serious cleaning motivation for the seriously unmotivated.

Genius!!!

Just subscribed to dubbii and will be screaming from the rooftops how friggen GENIUS it is! The break in between videos so you don’t find yourself down a rabbit hole of just watching someone else clean is so smart and helpful. Both Rich & Rox are a delight to listen to. Easy to use & follow along with, idk genius is truly the only word I can think of to describe it.

Game changer!!

I downloaded this morning and proceeded to start 2 loads, fold 3 loads, of laundry that had languished on my floor for at least 3 weeks and put away 2
My dopamine has run out now so I am laying on my bed writing this review
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Pure ADHD Love!

Absolutely love this couple and have followed them for a long time, so I was excited to see they developed an app to help everyone on the ADHD struggle bus! I just downloaded dubbii , but I’m excited to get started after watching the one free video. Hoping this will help me not avoid cleaning house since Rox and Rich will be talking me through it.

I need more

I wish there was more than just housework on dubbii . I really need body doubling for my work day. My adhd is affecting my job now. I used to share an office and when my mate was working so was I. Now no office mate and I am STRUGGLING!

Holding back tears of relief!

Thank you guys SO MUCH for making dubbii!

Changing the sheets was the free chore I chose. I followed Rox as she broke it all down step by step. I felt my relief increase each step through because I stayed on task and did not have to make the “simple” (super difficult for me) decisions. I also felt less and less shame and isolation with each comment Rox made about it being hard, difficult, or down right life sucking!

Love it

I’m so glad they has come out with dubbii and I love the option of breaking down each step or just playing the video with music, so I have someone doing it along with me!

Thank you!!

I’ve tried out one task so far, and am hooked. I love how it breaks down the steps, with different styles (Rox, your version helped me feel seen), as well as a follow along video with music. And the celebrate step at the end is so appreciated! Self-compassion can be as hard as executive dysfunction. Thank you!

Thank you so much

I have only started using it last night, and I needed this so much. I was able to clean the kitchen in 20 minutes, which usually takes me 2-3 hours. GAME CHANGER

This app takes the stress out of self-care

dubbii takes tasks that are overly stressful for people with ADHD, breaks them down into easy steps, and then has a video of someone to follow along. It sounds silly, but I have showered every morning for the past week, and that hasn’t happened in at least five years.

Fantastic and judgment-free

Made by people who clearly understand ADHD. The step-by-step breakdowns and encouragement make you want to keep going. It seems like the creators and continually adding more tasks which is great. My only other suggestion is to add more song options; I LOVE the electro swing song, but could always do with more. Thank you Rox and Rich!!

Finally Successful

I can’t speak highly enough about dubbii! My first video was for cleaning the bathroom, and the step by step breakdown was invaluable in helping me get through what had previously been an overwhelming task. The commentary was encouraging and supportive and even little things like hearing about how great the bathroom was starting to smell as it got clean helped me to keep going when I started feeling discouraged. I am so so grateful and excited to keep using these videos! The relief and sense of accomplishment I feel from completing this task that I had been avoiding was a direct result of the thoughtfulness they’ve given to creating a shame free, accessible space where I can be myself. Thank you!!

Love it!

I’ve struggled with adhd paralysis about house work for years. But your app has help me so much. I did the laundry, unloaded, and loaded the dishwasher, all in the same day without feeling tired! Love it sooo much! <3

You made emotional lol

I started your book ADHDed through the first few chapters admittedly and need to finish the rest. I have Struggled for many years and have worked so hard to try to control everything and be the emotional martyr for people. I appreciate the sincere honesty, and it truly does make you feel like your not alone and really helps the healing process to begin. I am looking forward to the rest off the book and app. Have a very merry Christmas!!🎄🎄

Love this App

dubbii has helped me so much. I use it for self care and cleaning. I don’t understand why it works but it does. So thankful for Rox and Rich.

Didn’t think I needed till i did!

I am one of the blessed few who grew up with parents who tried to support me in every way. So I grew up with amazing coping skills. I used dubbii once and I just didn’t need it until I did… today. Was the first horrific day I’ve had in years. I wanted so badly to get up and go to work but I could not get my body to move. I opened dubbii praying that had one as simple as just trying to get out of bed. I used the body double and cried cause suddenly I could. I got up, I followed along and my whole day shifted. I need humble myself and say if I had used dubbii sooner I would have saved myself a lot of suffering. It’s ok to need help and it’s ok to lean on support rather than always trying to cope on your own. Today it took 1 spoon to get up and get ready. It usually cost me 4. Thank you.
