My mom and I decided together we would buy this card for myself, so I wouldn’t have to use cash anymore. The money at first transferred in great, and the games were fun aswell, but the biggest problem was the fact that I could not use the card at all. I had $206 dollars on that card, and couldn’t use a dime. After this, me and my mom attempted to transfer the money out; however this did not work. You literally cannot get your money out of the card, unless we contact support, AND YOU CANT USE THE CARD ON AN ATM. When we tried to put the card on venmo, it said that the information we put was invalid, even though it was clearly correct. (We had also activated the card days before this.) When my mom was trying to take out the $200 dollars, she by mistake added $200 more. Our family doesn’t have a lot of money and we cannot afford this. Now there is $400 dollars stuck in a account in which the money cant be transferred out of, or used. Modak caused more problems than anything else, and I highly do not recommend.

I opened this account for my 12 year old son. 1) you cannot link to ur child's Apple pay. My son is too young per Apple. 2) sent a $50 deposit - which was supposed to be instant. It's been approx 5 hours, and my money isn't there. It was taken from my account, but shows $0 balance. 3) customer service has been terrible. I have had to type in my name, address, phone number, SS several times. Every move I make on Modak asks for it. 4) And....I can't even get my account closed!! They want me to login to my google account to close. Nightmare from start to finish, and $50 lost in seconds.

If I could rate this company 0/5, I would. I applied for this card for my son and was denied verification. Upon contacting customer service (which specifically says to do so on the website if you have an issue with verification), I was told basically “thanks for trying but you don’t meet our standards of security.” When I asked specifically why I was denied, they don’t know and won’t ever know. When I asked when I could reapply, I was told that I can never reapply. Trust me I tried- it basically shuts down both your email and your phone number from ever being attempted to be used again.. My only assumption would be that I was denied because my maiden name is on my drivers license instead of my married name and I didn’t realize it until after the fact. Extremely, extremely frustrating for me - an upstanding salaried citizen with excellent credit score-and my 9 year old son, who is beyond disappointed and I have no way to explain this to him.

We don’t pay our kids for chores so only wanted to use this for allowances. Even though I’ve never added a chore, I’ve had them show up on the kid account twice. I’m assuming that if the kid marked the chore was completed it would automatically transfer money to their account, with all the fees, but I’ve caught it before that’s happened. I opened a ticket the first time this happened a month ago and they said they would investigate. I never heard back and it just happened again. This kind of bug is unacceptable in a financial app and not addressing it just makes it worse.

Edit: I figured out the kids were adding their own chores. So, I know what happened. But I’m left wondering why they let kids add their own chores?

Modak is nice for children who want to start early and save money for their future or understand the perks of a debit card along with finance. Also for parents who want to make sure their children are spending responsibly, but for those over the age of 16 it becomes very difficult to use freely.

You can’t take money out, transfer money from other apps onto the card, as well as use some cards in certain stores. Something about minor authorization. Just some disclaimers beforehand, it shouldn’t fray you away from buying.

Overall it’s a great spending card.

I think this app is a great app to teach your children not only how to handle money but also teach them responsibility saving and even to teach them financial vocabulary this app offers fun games for children to earn MBX this MBX can be traded out of actual money 100 MBX=$1 you can even set allowance chores and more you should definitely get this app I only have one little thing it’s confusing to do and it takes some time to set up but after the fun begins get this app today and teach your children responsibility and how to handle handle money today !!

I have a suggestion : So I usually lose my card and I try to find it but it’s like long gone so I got an idea, what about you put a tracker on the card so you know where it is? my mother made me a account as a bank for me and I had over $500 dollars in my savings account and only 7 dollars in my checking account when I was charged for $25 my account was locked and everytime I try to transfer my money out it says error customer support is no help this is a absolute scam can’t even use at atm and you cannot send other people money you can only receive

I am a middle school student and am absolutely enjoying this app! First of all, it’s really fun! Secondly, it’s really easy to deposit and withdraw money. Thirdly, it’s secure. Finally, it’s a really unique way to let your child have responsibility while also being able to access the account and track the spendings on the account as a parent. I love this app so much and hope that everyone at least gives it a try.

Modak is great for your kids. This will really help them what they should get and what is not like OK to get because you’re basically like saving a lot of stuff and Modak has been really helping me so much and I can’t believe that Modak is so real because I just really love Modak and I would be using this every single day so families if you’re listening, please get Modak like this is just so amazing.

I love using my this app maker's card because it teaches me how to use money wisely. With my weekly allowance of $5, I can decide whether to spend a bit on snacks and save the rest. This way, I learn about budgeting and saving.

I think this app is a fun way to earn extra money and manage it also. Especially for teens. I am a teen myself and my mom recently told me to download it. It’s a great app so far. She gives me chores to do and a allowance each time I do them. Modak also provides a good way to make extra besides from your parent. Like completing little task for MBX and exchange it for money. Overall I’m loving Modak to far and I will definitely keep using it!

Modak seems really useful, it gives me all sort of advice on finances, and it keeps me proactive, it has goals it wants me to complete for something called mbx which is in app currency which you can cash out for actual money. Something I love is when your parent gives you money they also receive some, and it is super friendly and super understanding, it’s easy to get around Modak and how to use it, something I feel like that needs a fix( I don’t know if it’s because I just had Modak open in the background or it’s an actual bug) my mother gave me a dollar to try out the feature, I received the money really quick within 5 minutes but I didn’t get the notification.

I made over $2000 over a handful of months when the discord server was up as it used to be. Although that amount would take longer the way Modak is structured now; you can definitely still make money on this app. If you’re a younger teen that can’t get a job this is a great way to get a little bit of spending money a month. You could probably make $1 per day which is $30 by the end of the month. I really appreciate this app and all they’ve done for us over the last year. Great company.

Not only do they teach your kid how to manage money. It is also free. No fees included. If you have greenlight, just know that greenlight is awesome. However, it is not free. It was also complicated from my experience. If you get this app Makers, it will definitely be worth your time. They make your child’s card with all of their info on it like name, account number, and everything that a usual debit card has. You or your child can set up their own pin for the card. But anyways, this app Makers is great. I really recommend that you try it. Have a good day!!

My dad decided to make me a debit account. He looked every where in till he found this app. He made an account for me. Modak has no fees and you can get sent a card! And also there’s a thing called mbx you can win up to 4 to 8 mbx on the daily. The more mbx you get you can get REAL MONEY. But here’s the catch. It can take you around 2 months to get. And another is that 100 mbx is one dollar. ONE DOLLAR! and it can take you around 2 months to get. And you can have savings. THIS IS A MESSAGE FOR this app!!! I have Modak for about a month now and it has actually been a life changer for me and it’s not about the money that they supposedly give you. It’s about what I do with that money.
