UNest: Investing for Your Kids Reviews

U-nest is our first and excellent experience of investing money through an app. Great source to save money for my kids education. The growth and the ability to withdraw the money all tax-free for qualified education expenses mean that every dollar I contribute can multiply faster and cover a greater portion of my kids education expenses. Very easy and quick! Love being able to see the amount my child will have by the time she’s in college. Finding room in our budget for college savings can be difficult, so with U-nest savings plan that is not requiring a significant minimum investment, we can save 25 dollars per month until we are able to save more. We will definitely be using UNest from now on since it’s so convenient for us and all family members!

Im having issue with UNest and tried to contact them, they do not answer your call it goes automatically to robot and they response to your email don't know when... frustrating. Seems like you are pouring your money into sand like the water!
Also very poor security on app, I got robbed I think, Ive been investing from past July but my account shows only a month amount which is of this month only.. where is all my money go? Also don't show statements, tax documents and other options in UNest . Be careful

I signed up for UNest a while ago. I’ve had to contact customer service for multiple deposits. Even though they claim to be automatic, they aren’t processed until I contact customer service. This makes me scared about the withdrawal process. I’m currently seeking other options. The gifting option seemed awesome but when j reached out about it before COVID, I was told “hopefully within the next two weeks” they’d launch the gifting feature. Seems like overall, this company is slow at getting things done. That’s not how I want my money invested in my child’s future. I want it done at a certain time. While UNest simplifies things, I think more customization and say over my own child’s account would benefit my child’s future better.

I have been waiting for UNest! It's even better than I imagined. The ease of access and visibility is great. My favorite feature is the Learn function. I'm big on lists and love the email course concept. And having coaching right at your fingertips is even better. I haven't had any issues using UNest so far. I will say there are functions that aren't available in UNest vs. The mobile site/desktop site, but I can see why. Highly recommend UNest and of course

I opened UNest and started setting up my account. I got to a certain point and had some questions and wanted to do more research before I finished setting up the account. They charged me a $3 account fee even though I never completed the account setup. Now I can’t delete any of my info without completing account setup, which I don’t want to do. Have tried contacting company at two different email addresses listed on their webpage as contacts for support. So far no response on one and a delivery failure on the other stating invalid email address, which I clicked on directly fro the site.

Update: to this app regarding your response. I emailed your support team before I made this review and have never gotten a response.

Set UNest up to buy stocks for my kids, added 7 kids and an automatic investment and it works like a charm. I read other reviews about clunky app and unauthorized activity and was nervous but I am over a month into it and have not seen a single issue. My brother started using UNest two weeks aho and same thing. He added his four kids and has not had a single issue to speak of. Great app, the custodial account setup feature is the best! this app has been paramount in investing in my child’s future. As a new parent, I was looking for ways to secure my child’s future financial security.

I’ve had to reach out to the client support team a few times and they have been nothing but helpful! I do want to highlight that it takes a bit of waiting to get to someone, as they work typical business hours and are a small team. Nonetheless, I feel really great about my choice to start a this app account!

So far I like UNest . I'm investing in my kids using loved lol I'm not sure who came up with the name 😂. It makes sense for every parents with kids should invest in their kids future buying stocks for your kids is big. I'm a big investor I also use webull, Robin Hood, Charles Schwab investments account for my investment. After reviewing the review it seemed like a lot of people have issue withdrawing their money if they have to and that's very concerning on my behalf. The respond is too simple

I heard about this through my sister who set up this for her daughter. I then did so for my two sons. Unfortunately, the gifting option is not working. I set this up on November 22 and the gifting was supposed to take one to two business days to activate. It is still not working. I sent an email last week with this information to this app. I have heard nothing. Today, December 6, it is still not active. Not sure what the purpose of UNest is if you are looking to have family and friends give towards your child’s education versus purchasing toys or buying items on in app games for the holidays. Maybe you should just ask for Venmo instead! Very disappointing.

An app that finally provides a solution to college savings. U-Nest makes it extremely easy to signup for a 529 account and easily connected to my bank so I can make my monthly contributions. I was also able to make separate accounts for my kids and the U-Nest calculator helped me calculate the exact amount I need to save each month. I now have peace of mind when it comes to saving for my kids college. Thank you U-Nest for creating UNest!

I signed up for this app because they claim to find the best college savings program for your kids. My hope was they will give me options to choose from. But they automatically signed me up for one of their programs and started withdrawing money from my account immediately. I wasn’t even given the option of choosing when the money should be withdrawn. I emailed them and requested a cancellation which they said they will. And I received a refund for that transaction. However they continued trying to withdraw money from my account even after I requested a cancellation. Had to put a stop payment with my bank to prevent them from withdrawing from my account. Be careful before you sign up.

Very helpful tool to manage your money, can manage all your accounts easily from one app, can set up budgets which is really helpful and start investing of you're new to it they have tools to manage it and teach you what to do. It's a good app super useful they have a debit card you can opt for also. Good return on your savings as well, make money while its sitting there doing nothing.

I like how easy it was and watch the progress of my Daughters account. I tried the rewards link and purchased a few things and have yet to see the rewards hit the account. I reached out and customer service assured me they have it on their records and will be posting to my account soon. It’s been 90 days now and have yet to see any rewards. I am waiting to purchase anything else until I see that it actually works. They said it should take 30-60 days. Only downside to UNest so far.

Out of the thousands of apps I’ve downloaded over the years, I’ve maybe left two reviews. This being one of them. Stay clear of UNest. I wanted to try it out. Seemed like a decent idea. When I only got to a couple hundred dollars in, I decided that it really wasn’t worth the fee to Invest and was essentially losing money for using UNest . So I requested a withdrawal and was just going to stick the money in another account I use. I requested this withdrawal over a month ago. There’s no reason, in this age, that it should be taking this long. None. Everything’s
Instant now. They are stealing your money. Don’t use UNest.

I had heard about this app from a friend a while ago, and she loved it. But I already had a 529 set up. Now it’s possible to roll over my existing 529 plan into this app and take advantage of the huge cost savings (and other great features) of UNest . Looks like I can save literally thousands of dollars! That money should be going to my daughter’s education, not some some financial advisor. Thank you, this app!

I was looking for such an app for a long time, but most of them are too vulnerable, or taxes can’t allow me to use them without losing too much. But this one, being easy and safe enough to use can be perfect at this time, cause above all of this, it’s free and useful in its concept. I use this for a month and I can say that it really helps my son to save some money and to use them more properly.

I love UNest, it's incredibly easy to use, keeps track of your spending and keeps you up to date on your spending goals. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to save money, or even just want to track their spending more efficiently. You can also set up spending challenges for yourself. I downloaded this app because I wanted a fast and inexpensive way to set up a college savings plan for my daughter. Not only was I able to set up a plan in under 5 minutes, but I was also able to easily calculate what I needed to save monthly to achieve my goals. After 6
months with no issues I am now recommending them to my friends and family.

On top of UNest being high quality and well easy to navigate, their customer service is the best I’ve come across in a long time.

Fast, professional, and they fixed my problems so quick. They never made me feel like it was my fault (even though it was my stupid mistake) and just seemed happy to help me out.

I’ll at least give them 2 stars for ease of download and set up of account. I wanted to take advantage of the $10 bonus they offer for funding same day and when it got to the routing number, it didn’t recognize my credit union. I tried multiple times and then went to the help section... expecting a live chat... I submitted my issue and then received a response that I had to wait 24 hours for a response. No live help. This is how some apps lose customers.

For me saving money for my kids future education may be very difficult sometimes so I was looking for app that can help me with it. Out of everything that I have tried it is the most convenient option. The design is easy to work in and thus I don’t spend a lot of time while using it. It helps me so much and I don’t have to do a lot of useless job. Furthermore, the U-Nest is very reliable and I shouldn’t worry about my personal data.

The greatest app that provides me with all the important information, progress and statistics I need to will be able in future to pay for the education as I see all in one app.
I am glad that finally, I have found intuitively and easy to use application that has a very big amount of embedded functions to calculate what I need more :)

Usually I used notes to calculate how much money I needed to save for my family needs, but then decided to try this application and was really surprised by the result! I started to work harder trying to get the necessary amount of money as soon as possible! Very practical and convenient Application that shows you a long-term planning.

I wish UNest was around when I was a kid. Maybe my parents would do a better job saving for my own education. Now I have over $100K in student debt, but trying to make small contributions each month hoping that over the next 10 years they will grow into something big. Would hate my kids have to borrow - student loans s**k!

Recently, I began to think about ways to save for education expenses for kids in the future. Since, despite the rising cost of tuition, I consider a college degree to be one of the major achievements. I looked through several options and decided to try U-Nest, mainly because the money grows tax-free. I am sure that it will work.

I decided to choose UNest for the college savings because it is absolutely paperless. I simply had neither the time nor the desire to go to a certain bank, stand in line, fill out a bunch of documents and so on. But, on the other hand, all this simplicity doesn’t look very convincing. I can only hope for the best.

I was looking for a turnkey, innovative, solution to begin saving for our new born’s college education. I’ve experienced error after error just trying to get through the onboarding experience. I’m in banking, and financial technology, myself and found this proposition to be highly interesting on paper. It’s too bad the technology and general onboarding user experience are not functioning. After multiple tries, unreturned message to customer support and even an app update...I guess it’s back to the standard providers. Best of luck fixing this!

I have three kids and setting college saving plan for all of them only took me about 15 minutes. I meant to start saving for years, but everything seemed very complex and required hours of my time. And time is precious when you have three kids. Five stars!
