I rating PlaytestCloud and the this app platform. I’ve done several playtest for this company and on my iPad Pro it’s always an issue with connecting the microphone with the playtest. I use to always have no issue with the microphone on my Samsung S20 but for some reason after I made a effort to complete the last few playtest with recording my voice and playing….they said that my microphone was low or they couldn’t hear me. Therefore, I wasn’t wasting anymore of my time and energy to play a game for 30 minutes to an hour only for them to come back and say we can’t pay you because we didn’t hear you. I’m under the impression that they said that with the last two playtest I did for them on order for them to make an excuse not to pay me. So, to the developers of PlaytestCloud and playtest, you wasted my time which I could’ve been doing something else for someone else that would’ve actually paid me for my time. If I could give 0 stars I would! Your company don’t deserve to test games because you really don’t want to pay your users.

So I did the 5 min. qualifying test and actually did 7 min. My game first offered me as a child or play as parent. I chose as parent it asked for my email which I gave.. but then it asked for my credit card info wanting me to sign up! So still recording I went back and to play as a child. It them asked for my parents email! What was going on I couldn’t tell ya. I was very verbal through this complete experience. After submitting this they sent a reply saying it’s wasn’t good enough and wanted it done again .. LOL I left them a worded email and threw them to junk mail! Scam beware! Negative stars -

Applied to be a tester. They sent me link to test me first. I followed instructions to the letter and app simply wouldn't load to either of my ios devices. Then I would quit out and get an email saying they received the test video apparently. So I did one watching it clock for 5 mins cause thats the minimum and then I get a rejection as if I failed the test! This is such a sham and a waste of time. Unless it works on your device just don’t. Uhhh

Accepted beta test for a game, downloaded beta from TestFlight. Played for over an hour, now nothing shows in PlaytestCloud . Went back to email for the survey link and now it says that the test is filled up already. Thanks for wasting my time.

Update - Decided to try PlaytestCloud again. It continues to waste my time. Recorded 30 mins of gameplay yesterday with minor issues. Recorded another 30 minutes tonight only for it to get deleted because I pulled out my headphones prematurely. I am fuming.

I just spent about 20 minutes trying to complete the tester qualifications. However, PlaytestCloud is so poorly developed that it continued to crash more than five times during the time that I was working in it. I can’t imagine the game testing portion will run any more smoothly, that is, if you ever actually even get to that point. Unfortunately, this was a total waste of my time. I recommend if you are looking to make a little extra money on the side by testing games, look elsewhere.

Made about $6 over a year of having PlaytestCloud. I have a 1-1 interview scheduled that will make me $60 but the interviewers thought it wise to schedule it at 2AMEST so I will probably be canceling for my family’s sake. Been told multiple times that I have “microphone issues” after a playtest when I know my voice is clear, and therefore not been given compensation for my time (usually around 30 minutes to navigate the surveys before actually playtesting, for which you get $2 compensation. That’s $4 an hour. Don’t waste your time.

I have been paid out in the past and have done multiple test with success but your most recent update destroyed the apps usability. I did a play test that went smoothly, I did the mic test, then I went to check if I can do the survey and PlaytestCloud just refuses to load. I got to the survey through my email and finished it. The next day the play test is denied for the first time saying “my mic cut out” which is weird. I don’t understand why can’t we preview the sound before sending it in I would play for a longer period in order to make sure it works. Whats more frustrating is now I can’t even open PlaytestCloud to look at new play tests, it stays on a loading screen. I got an email to do a play test today and I still can’t get PlaytestCloud to open. No matter what WiFi I’m on it’s not working.

I followed the assignment of recording and talking through the play through of the game I was testing at the beginning. Later I get an email stating that I wasn’t chosen to play test anymore games. I find it quite absurd as I was talking through the game I was playing. Wouldn’t recommend trying this to anyone thinking they’ll make anything with this. I’ve been a gamer for decades and I know a thing about what to look out for with quality titles. Their loss.

I signed up while ago but never finished the sign up process. I get multiple emails a week asking if I’m still interested so tonight I decided to finish the process. I took the 5 minute test and a few hours later received an email back saying that I wasn’t accepted. First of all, they have you test Tetris. There wasn’t anything revolutionary or new about a game that I’ve played for the last 25 years, so there wasn’t much to comment on. And the second thing is that I thought the test was just to try out and test their app to make sure I was familiar with it before the actual testing began. Waste of time!

This is a scam for free survey answers. Unlike others who pay for your time to answer surveys, PlaytestCloud asks you to take lots of surveys but doesn’t pay for your time. I thought it was to collect info to set you up to play games but the games never come. It’s just constant surveys so they’re harvesting the info for free. There are plenty of others that will pay for survey info so don’t bother with this.

Update reply to developer: Really? “of course they’re not paid” that’s interesting because all others pay for screeners even if it’s only a few cents. It’s still expecting free labor and that’s gross. Compensate people for their time and info.

I never write reviews but this is actually the worst thing I have ever seen. It makes you do all this stuff with games on their websites, then when I finally get on it just says “wrong app channel” no matter what I do it just says that and I can’t do anything about it. This just wasted 1 hour of my life that I could’ve been using to do anything else, plus I probably wouldn’t even make any money off of this because off how bad of a strategy they use. Talk while playing? If I got to type there would be much better review on the games. Do not get this it’s a waste of time and most likely stealing your data

Not sure if it’s just that popular or if there are any actual playtest. I signed up for about a month now, everything went well in terms of their “first” play test, had no issues with microphone as others described, but I’ve checked my email and nothing. I was told that based of my initial play test I would be on their list and be sent emails on other play tests and received notice of one, POSSIBLE, play test and asked to update my preferences, after which I received no notice on whether I was selected, or not, and have not received anything else from them. Sign up if you feel like it, but don’t expect to be flooded with play test like the images on here show you will mostly see a message that says “We’ll let you know by email as soon as we have a playtest for you.”

App asks for my email to log in. I put in the email associated with my account and PlaytestCloud sends a verification email. I open the email and verify which sends me to PlaytestCloud again but once I’m there the screen freezes and I can’t do anything. It doesn’t refresh and I can’t manual refresh it. I close PlaytestCloud then open it again just to have to do everything all over again with the same result. Needs a fix ASAP. Can’t test games if I can’t get in.

I had used PlaytestCloud for a test and I failed cause of headphones and the recording was stuck saying it needed 5 to 10 min recordings. If you can, fix this problems cause if this is the only way to record gameplay, make a program for pc that can do this and maybe a little bit better.

Well I downloaded this and got to the point I was gonna do the pre-test as you will but when I went to click it told me I was using the wrong app channel and to click the link to download the correct app channel. Well when I click the link it takes me to PlaytestCloud Store link that lets me know I have downloaded the correct app channel. So I am now stuck before I even start! Dope! Could use some developer help 🤷‍♂️

I signd up for this app about a week ago and honestly the pictures make it seem like there will be a ton of playtests, this isn't really the case. I get flooded with emails pretty much every other day that make it seem like a playtest is there, but it's just a survey.

However this is out of their control so I can't fault them. What I can say is that playtesting is incredibly straightforward and for me paid well. I got one playtest after about a month or so and got paid in under 24 hours fairly. $13 for one hour I can't complain.

PlaytestCloud looks nice, the instructions are simple, and my mic was pretty bad but as long as I spoke at a decent volume I was fine.

I recommend changing the titles of your survey emails though as they are very misleading.

I really like PlaytestCloud, they pay you relatively fast, relatively easy gui, but the microphone recording is really bad. My microphone always sounds fine in the testing sound section, but the moment I record for 10 seconds it automatically says ‘microphone not recorded’. It was like this on the first one I submitted, but it was not nearly as disruptive as this time around.

It’s a great app, some companies are very particular about who they want testing so that’s everyone’s main problem but I’ve had next to no issues on getting play test. The support is great and I recommend PlaytestCloud to anyone who wants a chance to make a little money doing what they love

I’ve been using the this app website for a few years now but just got prompted to download PlaytestCloud today. PlaytestCloud was easy to install and use, everything worked for me the same as it does on the website. I used my plug-in headphones with my phone and did the playtest without issues! I’ve made a good bit of money over time. They pay out via PayPal and it’s a very legit service! I’ve always enjoyed testing with this company and recommend it for anyone needing some extra funds here and there.

I’ve started using Playtest early November 2023. So far I’ve received two test for different games and everything has been pretty smooth. This is a great way to play games you’d enjoy and also get paid. Remember to turn on your microphone!
