I don’t know if it is the bank or APGFCU , but it constantly takes my money. Let me explain.
When you are living paycheck to paycheck, as I am, every dollar is accounted for. That being said I do not add up every penny I spend as I’m spending it a lot of times I will just open APGFCU and see how much I have in my checking account, and I’ll purchase whatever it is that I might be getting a coffee whatever. But yet apg continuously charges me overdraft fee. I will look at the amount of money I have in the bank in my checking account and then I will purchase something for that amount or close to it. Just to turn around and find out that there was something else pending so they hit me with overdraft fee and they do this constantly!! You’re telling me in 2024 with the technology that there is today that if you don’t have that amount of money in there, they can’t decline it? cash app does it why can’t a real bank or a credit union?

I like to do the math in the notes on my phone when spending money. I’ll even round it to be safe.. yet when I go into APGFCU , more money is missing. Something is always off with this bank. And to add to this, there’s almost always an issue. Like the system being down, or APGFCU not working and at the most inconvenient times. Lastly, the cherry on top- they always flag your card for fraud for thee dumbest reasons. You could be getting gas or groceries at a normal price and in your local area. Most banks flag when someone is purchasing Prada items across the country.

Do better.

I do not like APGFCU at all. It is not intuitive. I find myself going to the web browser to pay bills and use the old system, because I can’t figure out how to update recurring bills and know they are updated. The last time I tried to update one in APGFCU , I double paid.

Finding mobile check deposit is not easy. Paying my visa bill is not easy.

I bounce between APGFCU and web browser every time I do my online banking trying to figure out where the features are that I need, and which works in which set up. It’s a nightmare.

I only log into my account to pay my bills. Kept getting an error trying to login on the old app only to find out the hard way there’s a new app. Wish the old app had some notification it no longer functions. Don’t believe I received any emails or anything that there was a new app I needed to install anyways. I also can’t figure out how to do external transfers like how I did in the old app which is inconvenient perhaps it’s hidden but I guess it is no longer a supported feature.

The dollar amount you see in your account (especially checking) is not the correct amount. Example you have $1000 in your account you purchase something for $100. Then you go on your app and check your account and it still says $1000 available. Until the next business day then it updates . Doesn’t give you real time dollar amount in your account. Not very and have to add everything up yourself

APGFCU is ok but it’s not very intuitive. For example, you can “transfer” money between all accounts except your Visa account. To transfer money to your Visa account you have to go to “pay loan”. To select an online statement, you have to select your account (which you’re already in your account) then select search (which is redundant) then select your statement. Once you’re done viewing that particular statement, you have to go through the same convoluted process again to view another statement. Also, I should be able to view a statement from the account I’m already in, i.e. if I’m in my Visa account, there should be a button on that page to say, “View Online Statement”. Not very user friendly.

I liked the old app better, when they switched those of us who had external accounts attached to the old one had to reattach. They transferred all our information but that for some reason. It’s a little more navigating compared to the other one. If I’m being honest APGFCU compared to the old this app app just looks cheap and tacky… it’s not sleek or modern. It looks like an old desktop image. Overall, it gets the job done I guess.

I do not like the bill pay. When a person is enrolled on ebill, they do not have an option to see what is due and pay when they want to pay, instead of it being an automatic payment. It is times that the bill may already be paid and it will be paid twice or it is a discrepancy with the bill and this app has paid the bill and the person doesn’t even know the amount. A person should always be able to see the ebill and pay at their own discretion.

APGFCU is in different shades of grey which makes it more difficult to see. I still haven’t figured out how to see the Ebill statements.
It’s nice that APGFCU and online version are the same but I have same problem with both.
Once the initial updates are made to this platform to address these issues I would request developers to stop making changes to the look and feel of the interface. Once we learn it we don’t want to have to learn another platform or constant tweaks.

Some features (like transaction classification and name) cannot be edited in APGFCU . (You get a big grey screen). It’s also very difficult to navigate between accounts as there is a drag and drop feature available to move accounts to a preferred display order. The problem is it’s hypersensitive so if you’re simply scrolling down the page you can move an account location without knowing it. Needs some major improvement.

No notices posted in old app letting folks know that app was no defunct, called this app and got a snarky answer saying they had been training for the new app for months and they had it posted on their website. Took me hours to get in to the new app and get all of my bill Pay set back up and I work on computer systems for a job. Poor job transitioning to APGFCU which has a fundamentally different UI/UX which could be a problem for folks. The splash page error for the old app just says “we’re having trouble validating your account credentials” instead of saying something to the effect of “we have a new app, please download the new app”

Overall APGFCU is user friendly and intuitive.

My only real issue is the transfer of funds from say checking to make a random credit card payment. It used to be simple, now not so much. If you have three accounts, checking savings and credit card why are they not all easily linked like they used to be?

I think APGFCU is great. Very user-friendly and easy to navigate. The only thing I would change is the ability to move the individual account tiles. If you touch an account while you were scrolling, it will try to rearrange your account order. it can get frustrating. Other than that APGFCU is good.

Navigation of APGFCU is a bit harder then the last apg app. I had a hard time figuring out how to pay my Visa that is connected to my account because I usually I just transferred the money straight over. Now, I have to go to the menu, find ‘Loan Payments’ & there I can transfer to my Visa. It will take some time to get used to the difference.

So much better than the last app! Especially being able to view shared accounts. I gave it a four because I really love the layout if the virtual
Wallet from a competitor and wish we had something like that in APGFCU . Simple Savings and spending overview.

This newest app gives the user a lot of control and ways to identify and track your financial transactions. One thing I see lacking is an ability to go back and forward on transaction pages from the top. As of now, you have to scroll all the way down to either go back or forward another page.

Got the best rates, approved quickly . Had a bunch of new customer questions and the customer service reps were amazing and very pleasant to speak with. They went above and beyond to get my answers, plus actually followed up with me to see if Everything I asked about got handled. By far, the best customer service!

Super happy with the in depth balances, alerts you can customize, and the financial charts and organizing. I literally left Wells Fargo for 20 years to be with APG just because how awesome the online banking is. The people and the high yield accounts also are a huge benefit. Thank you so much, do not change anything. It’s perfect!! Best bank by far all around!!

The only thing that drives me crazy is the new way to make visa payments. I know it’s essentially a loan but it’s difficult to think of it that way when no other bank that I bank with does. It was so much more convenient to just transfer from one account to another.

I’ve had a few banks in my lifetime but this app is the best ! No hidden fees. Great service inside and drive thru . Courteous pleasant employees in every dept. I never had a problem that they didn’t solve immediately. I bank online as well and it’s an amazing easy service . Their loan services are quick and easy too. If your shopping for a reliable bank it would behoove you to consider this app.
