Dolphin Mobile Browser Reviews

This is my favorite browser by far. Been using it for a few years now but after the latest update it's nearly impossible to use. Keeps crashing once in a while (not a big issue) but the biggest issue is that it keeps resetting to factory settings all the time, even though i have a this app account to sync my bookmarks and everything else. Please get this fixed, i miss my this app and don't like Chrome at all.

*Update: they kinda fixed it, I don't lose my bookmarks anymore but it still resets to factory settings, changing my favorites, adding bookmarks and changing the browser to Yahoo. I'm about to delete this browser even tho i love it. Please fix it

The one and only reason I downloaded Dolphin was the ability to listen to videos in the background... The developers considered that as a Bug. The most recent update’s sole purpose was to eliminated that function. Why? How was having the option to listen to videos in the background a bug and a detriment to Dolphin ? It was honestly Dolphin one good function. Background video play was the reason I searching for that function and found and download Dolphin in the first place... Otherwise, I really don’t see what the point of Dolphin is??
Will be deleting it.

I just updated from iOS 11 to 12. Dolphin crashes instantly when changing tabs. I’m guessing since it’s been a year since an update and there’s now a Pro version, Dolphin has been abandoned. Too bad. This was a great browser.
This is a very poor way to keep customers interested in your products.
I just read the reviews on the Pro version. All say it crashes on opening a second tab same as Dolphin. Both haven’t been updated in a year or more. Only the incognito version has been updated recently and the reviews aren’t very good.
I hope I can get my bookmarks from older iPhones.

I’ve been using this app for years to listen to videos in the background while I worked. Unfortunately the developers decided to go against what most of the user base needed Dolphin for and removed that function. what a waste. this app is a terrible browser for virtually everything else, buggy and not user friendly. I was ok with the bugs and never complained because the background playback was worth it. Developers, give me a response if you ever reinstate the background playback, for now im uninstalling.

Please add scroll up and down arrows on the webpage. The gesture cannot precisely control the fine movement. Plus, please improve Ad Blocking function. A lot of browsers have added manual "Ad Blocking" function.

Bookmark “sync” feature disappears. Please add it back!

Can’t open a new tab in background. Please add this feature back

Every time I open Dolphin it immediately makes my searches yahoo again even though I constantly set it to google. I used Dolphin for a long time, even through the crashing phases when you tried to open another tab. However, this is a last straw to me. There’s no reason I should be stuck with a yahoo search engine. If anything, the default should be google.

I have been using Dolphin for over 8 years off an on. I stopped using it about 4 years ago, but I have always had it installed. I used it a day ago and I remember why I stopped using it.

Dolphin shuts down when you open new tabs. When you alternate between tabs, Dolphin also shuts down randomly. The actual speed of the browser is slow. Very frustrating using this browser and There is one word for this out dated and forgotten by the developers app: TRASH.

If you’re using an older version and haven’t updated IOS, you should be okay. Otherwise it can no longer play background music due to the “bug” fix, and by bug I mean if you’re on IOS 14 it just crashes on launch so they had to get rid of that feature. I’ve had Dolphin for maybe 3 years so it’s sad to see it go, but it’s only use was to play background music and that’s gone so I’ll be leaving too. Thanks for everything.

Unfortunately as of IOS 14.2, there are a lot of frustrating bugs and the developer’s inbox is full so you can’t report any issues.

You can’t hold your finger on a link to open it in a new tab anymore, it just opens it in Safari. Totally kills the multi-tab functionality.
Dark mode in IOS makes the menus unreadable, such as your search suggestions when you type in the URL bar.
Frustratingly, Dolphin CONSTANTLY resets your default search engine to Yahoo.

There’s more but those have to be the biggest headaches. Sadly going to have to look elsewhere it seems. I’ve used this app for many years but it looks like it’s not keeping up with the times.

After years of using this app as my main “non-Safari” browser on my iPhone devices through the years, it’s time to hang it up for this app.

For a couple years now, I cannot create a new window without causing a crash. This is especially frustrating since I always surf in Private mode and existing windows are lost.

Couple that issue with lack of Evernote support - aka Evernote is listed as an export option but always fails - and I am done with this app.

It’s a pretty good app, letting me listen to music in the background and even turning off ads, but when I try to open a new tab, it crashes. It seems like this is a problems that’s been around for a little bit, but I still plan to use Dolphin , but I hope you fix the bug soon :)

Dolphin worked amazing until I updated my iPhone to iOS 14. It used to let me play the music from videos in the background and ran really smoothly. Now when I try to open Dolphin it just immediately crashes. I have restarted and reset my phone, and even deleted Dolphin and redownloaded but alas, Dolphin still crashes upon opening. I really enjoyed Dolphin and would love it if it would become compatible with iOS 14.

This update fixed iOS 14 crashes but also deleted the one feature that made this browser useful. Every other browser is way better at web browsing. This is the playing video in the background browser. I’m not sure why they would call it a “bug” and patch it but I suspect Google had something to do with it. Oh well it was good while it lasted

This is a great browser that loads pages fairly quickly. It also has the added bonus of being able to open pages using voice commands or customizable gestures.

So from what I understand there is a new version (or separate one) on Dolphin Store which is the one I was sent to when I clicked to review Dolphin from within Dolphin . I like the old one so, so much. Gestures, having the screen off for videos. Love it!

theres been a recent bug that causes Dolphin to crash when a new tab is opened. I like the option to keep videos open in the background, but being able to browse multiple tabs is a given with any browser. Hopefully this bug is fixed soon.

Please update to compatibility for iOS 14!!!! It’s the only way I can listen to YT music playlists while doing other things on my phone pleeeeeaaaassseee I beg of you I don’t want this great workaround to go awayyyyy 😫 😫

Thanks for latest update. App is working again and the old multi tab crash was fixed as well. Working great now!

I personally like Dolphin a lot, since it has a nice UI and has a lot of personalization involved. However, Dolphin crashes A LOT. I use this every day, and it’s crashed EVERY DAY. I also use Bluetooth headphones, and whenever it crashes, it disconnects my headphones for some odd reason. Please fix this so I can continue using Dolphin. Thanks.

I updated my phone and when I tried to used this app Browser, it said it wasn’t in Dolphin store anymore, so I went to look, and this was here instead.
Idk why you guys got rid of the old one cause it worked fine, now I don’t have my bookmarks or anything anymore.

I don’t like the new video player, I rather be able to fast forward instead of skipping 15 seconds entirely, can you fix that?)

Dolphin has so much wasted potential. The gesture shortcuts is an amazing feature I’ve yet to find on another browsers. All around loved the convenience & functionality. So much so I was going to make the switch from Safari to it. Downloaded on both my iPhone/iPad, made & linked accounts. So after doing all that you can imagine my frustration when ten minutes into using it began crashing it. Obviously had to delete it... & instead of using this app I’m now using the Aloha app. Prob should get this fixed ASAP cause the long it takes the more users you’ll lose to the competition.

Especially in organizing/maintaining bookmarks across devices but it needs an update badly at this point. Some sites are not coming up properly as they did in the past and I wind up having to use a different browser on those occasions.

I’ve been using this browser for who knows how long. After updating the iOS to the latest, Dolphin has become something almost worthless. The problem is mainly switching or opening new tabs crashes Dolphin . Based on the recent reviews, this has been going on for months.

The silver lining if it can be considered as one is that its still works if you only use one tab and one tab only.

About a month ago I started using an iPhone again for the first time since 2015. I loved this app on my old iPhone 4 and I still like it on my iPad. However it would seem they just gave up on it lately. You can’t open a new tab without the browser crashing. Legit every single time I try to open one it crashes. I’m done with this.

Every time I have 10 or more tabs open bam, Dolphin crashes. And if I happen to be in private mode then everything that was open is gone and there is no way in getting it back. Why can’t Dolphin be like safari and keep them in the background until I wish to close the tabs. It’s not security because safari is pretty dam safe. Very very very annoying please fix.

For about a year I’ve used this app as my primary iOS browser, primarily for its ad and autoplay blocking prowess. But it’s been very good at serving all the other general browsing needs I have as well. Strongly recommended.

I like to use this browser, it’s fast and doesn’t take to long with loading off the internet; but everytime I try to add or change a tab or change it, it crashes.

Getting worse by the day. I've never seen a browser crash so much and I'll only have 1 or 2 tabs open. Why does this app keep changing the version of browser that's available in Dolphin store?

This has unfortunately become the worst browser as it crashes so bad and way too often. Until they can get it together, I'm going to another browser.

Get it together. I had this version and then it was removed from Dolphin store and this app x was available, so I loaded that. Now that one is gone and this one is back. Make up your mind!

Now they've switched it to this app again. If they're available in Dolphin store, why can't they roll out regular updates?
