Video fast fwd,rewind and playback gets messed up

I’ve had Kode for quite awhile now. It’s a good app but the bugs in it annoy me and just continue to happen. Written customer service three times and have never heard back. When playing video, the fast fwd, rewind and pause just stop working. You have to swipe to the next or previous video and then swipe back to the original video and then they work. It is soooooo annoying. This latest update at the end of July 2020 started 2 more issues. When you close a window, it automatically pulls up the previous window instead of giving you the option of what window you want watch next or if you even want to I wish they would address these issues because I’m a paying customer who is thinking about canceling my membership because I’m about done with Kode. I’m tired of being annoyed

Seriously not ok.

As others have said, privacy thing pops up for two seconds and app closes! I get glitches but now Kode just doesn’t work! What was saved is lost. I question whether developers are reading the comments and reviews? It seems that updates don’t address the customer comments or concerns. That’s ok if it’s a “free” experiment but when I pay for something I at least expect it to work as it did before; If not better! In this case, now it doesn’t work at all. I have, as have others, asked for certain thing. Fine, not in the cards but to be updated and stop working entirely? I guess it’s time to find a better option. I liked it initially, easy to use, easy to transfer but there is really no reason to utilize Kode! Basic features that work disappear and now it simply won’t load correctly. As the ability to access files and transfer was removed long ago, I have now lost what I was transferring one by one...

Developers are not honest

The promise of removing adds and forced advertising after purchasing product is a lie. Most adds are removed but the adds for this developer remain. NOT COOL and is dishonest business practice. Additionally, I am being forced to review their VPN service. I AM NOT INTERESTED as I already have my own VPN service but I cannot clear the warning message. Again, NOT COOL and is a dishonest business practice. Last and most important is that the developer has taken a drink of Google’s kool-aid. What I mean is that I am unable to select a different browser. I am forced to use GOOGLE. I have to wonder how much money Google is paying you to FORCE DIRECT your customers. It really does matter how good your product is, and I am not sure based on the reviews, you have lost my trust. Your deception is simply NOT COOL and is an extremely dishonest business practice. Anyone reading this review should reconsider purchasing.

Video controls are BROKEN!

This was a great app until a recent update that totally broke proper functionality of video controls. Fast-forwarding or dragging on the timeline used to be easy and straightforward. Those controls now compete for a brightness and volume overlay that NO ONE NEEDS and it makes it nearly impossible to control video playback correctly. There are buttons that are supposed to advance or rewind content by 10 seconds but they rarely work because focus always goes to those useless brightness and volume sliders. Had I not already put so much video in the vault when Kode worked, I would’ve uninstalled it by now. Hoping the developer fixes this major mission-critical issue very soon.

New update is better

I do like the new update to Kode . I did have it downloaded previously and had not used it for some time. After updating it I like how the new interface is easier to navigate. However I’d like to be able to have my phone locked when I’m away and be able to continue with my download. Also would look forward in the future to the possibility of being able to have whatever downloaded available across devices. Other than that I d say Kode is great and has provided a great experience with little issues. I’d recommend to friends.

It’s good enough

I would appreciate if there was an obvious way to download music though.

Original review: I haven’t had any of the issues others have been having, (for the few that were downloading entire movies, check your available storage as that could probably be the issue) The longest video to download I would recommend is 30-40 minutes max. Though it has slowed down for me slightly, I’m able to have multiple tabs. Though I don’t use multiple tabs that often.

I take it back...

At first I didn’t like the update. I started experiencing problems with the downloading feature. But now I can download with no problem and tbh I think the new interface is so much easier and better to use. I want y’all to fix some things, like the small glitches that happen every time my phone is locked and I’m downloading a video or when I start a download. Overall it’s not that bad. I’m just thankful for the people behind the development of Kode. Keep it up. 💯

Subscription self-terminated

Won't display any webpage, just gives a blank page with an ad banner at the bottom to upgrade to Premium, but then it gives a message indicating the AppleID account will be charged for the upgrade and hangs indefinitely. There is a link to Restore previous purchase, which gives a message that the subscription expired on a few days ago, which is when the problem started. I don't know why the subscription ended, it was on an auto renew basis for a while. But since it will not renew, Kode is useless. BTW, I'm still on iOS 14.x so it's not an iOS 15 issue… I suspect this is an abandoned or hijacked app. If true, user beware of data theft or surveillance!

Continually Re-Downloading Videos

Bug - Randomly, it has videos re-downloading that have already been downloaded at least once, if not 2-3 times. No idea what causes it to happen, but it’s extremely annoying when all the videos are 2-5GB. And it’s not all of the videos, just a random few. Today there were 15 videos that are 40-50 gigs in total. Very irritating. I always watch them once they finish to verify they work, so not sure why Kode randomly thinks the files aren’t there or need to be re-downloaded. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Lost my premium.

I bought Premium for Secure Browser a year ago. Ever since the transition to this app it’s been bugging me by telling me to log in and today it kicked me off and is telling me to buy premium again. This never counted as a subscription when I bought it. Did this change?

Update: They are working on fixing it but have not yet, I still get constant adds from the browser not just the sites I visit. I have no access to he Touch ID (unless that has been removed.

Front Page Just Disappeared!

Was enjoying this app for the last few months. It was my backup browser. Now, this morning, the front page disappeared replaced by an ad for this app along the bottom edge of the page. Confusing and disappointing.

Now (Nov 5th) I have the same problem. On opening this app this evening, I have a blank home screen with a this app ad running along the bottom. I can't tell any way to get past this and go on to the real homepage. Frustrating.
I'm beginning to think I shouldn't use this app, though I do like it when it is running properly.
I don't know what to do.

Was great, now crashes - Update

Using Kode on my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6s with the last version of iOS 10. It works fine on the iPhone, but it crashes almost immediately on the iPad. It crashes before I can use the PIN Pad or Touch ID. All of my downloads are lost unless this fixed. I will update this review if it is fixed.

I just installed the latest update. Kode works great again. I think Kode delivers on what it promises. I am happy with it.

This application has Two main problems.

1- we cannot transfer downloaded files like videos and musics directly to pc or labtop through computer iTunes unlike some other browsers like ahola that can do this.

2- there is no way to export bookmarks from this browser to some where else ,some other browser like safari or even sync with icloud or like one drive or something like this. I mean there is no possibilty to do a sort of backup from our bookmarks created in this browser.

GREAT... but Needs Tweaking

Kode is way better than the previous one I used. I can download videos from almost any website of any duration! However, some of the videos I download are not of the best quality. Either the visuality or audio are sub-par no matter how long or short the video is. While this isn’t a huge issue, it should maybe get looked into. Other than that, Kode is amazing!

Update has broke app

The new update that was released a little over a week ago has made Kode nearly unusable on my IPad. I normally do not write reviews but his new update has really made things frustrating considering that I have paid for the premium version of Kode . I can no longer have more than one tab open at a time and Kode freezes constantly which makes me force-close Kode . I would give Kode 4-5 stars if it weren’t for this most recent update. I really hope it gets fixed sometime here in the near future.

Meh

It seems to work ok. It’s just slower than molasses and gets my device like really hot. They asked me to give 5 stars as it already gave itself 4 when it popped up on my screen during use. Ok this app, I’ll bite and give ya 5. Lets see if it puts me in good standing with them to where hopefully they can show ME some love by updating soon and get whatever bugs out pronto! Until then I think I can occupy myself with this for a few....

Works great

First off I would like to say, no I am not a robot or paid by this app to say this lol. I’ve been using Kode for about 3 months now and I absolutely love it! I did spring for the premium version and let me tell you it’s worth every penny. The browsing is great, very user friendly, and what puts it over the top is the ability to save vids and pics directly from a site or app. Highly highly recommend this app 👍🏻

I love this app but…..

this app is a very good app. I love all the space to download files. Occasionally a file will disappear, no big deal. I should have paid for the no advertising, but I didn’t. Now an advertiser called Safariaid has hijacked Kode . Completely useless. I hope to eventually get back into Kode , but if I can’t then I recommend the premium version of Video Saver.

ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT PLAY MEDIA FILES

It started with my previous iPad. Videos played but imported videos only played upon import. Restart app, only black screen, tried every file type and package, play fine with any other app on iPad, even from files location. Apple replaced my iPad (when .I dropped it), after restoring and importing the very same videos previously installed I get playable upon import but after restart or even minimizing Kode , I get a black screen with no scrubbing timeline. Nothing happens, the files are there, even the preview icons show, they just won’t play! Marcg 2022 review!

UPDATE CHANGES DOWNLOADS

Since the latest update sent out today, This update makes it so your downloads are constantly paused until you pause and unpause them over and over until they are done downloading!

(Update) It turns out this is only true if you have the downloads section OPEN. When it is exited, it will download in the background, you just cant see it progress as it downlods anymore. Still Very Annoying! Please fix this!

Awesome Update

I’ve reviewed this browser before and have given it good reviews and a few bad ones over the last year. I use this browser often so I’m pretty critical of it. The update today fixed some of my major complaints. Thank you for letting me hide the annoying news feed great work! I will say that support has always been fast to respond to me and have been helpful even if it was just to let me know that an update was in the works and I would need to wait. This browser works as described and is worth the premium upgrade.

Having audio playback issues when video download is completed.

Overall it’s a great app, I think its just been with some recent update, I’ve started having trouble with audio not outputting through my speaker or headphones when I finish downloading files. Maybe if this gets fixed, I’ll re-write this review. Anyways that’s my only issue as of now.

Help, Help Help

You recently updated Kode and now it does not work. The page that shows all the files is locked one look, by Date reversed. No other look is available or clickable. It looks like it could be really great but you cannot show in any other look but Date in reverse. No more size, or by name. It’s almost unusable. Please fix this.

I have an IPad Pro, the newest one.

- Import page can be merged with files page in the form of an import button
- Be able to close all tabs including the only tab
- Be able to turn off “ding” sound when a video is done downloading. Still sings when notification sounds turned off
- Fake key-code that opens up an empty app

Pretty good

I mostly like the new interface, the old one was a bit touchy, which I didn’t like, so thank you. However, I don’t like that fact that now my downloaded video don’t have their names on them. Which the old interface did do, if the developers of Kode can please have that feature back that would be great.

Very Good Product

I couldn’t ask for a better and more honest product. When some products say “FREE” they mean maybe 1 to 3 days and whatever you download is all theirs unless you join. Well that’s not the case here”FREE” means “FREE” and everything is yours. This is a great please. It’s easy to use and just awesome.

Great app. One of a kind.

Only app I have found yet that download my videos without hassle. I would recommend Kode to anybody who has an eye device and is having trouble downloading videos. I haven’t donated yet but I plan on as soon as I am able to. Thanks again developers very clear

Latest update completely crashes.

Great app until last update. Now app won't open- crashes every time. iOS 10.3.3 on IPad Pro.

Provides very smooth play of videos in full screen mode. Web browser function allows playing videos without downloading to discover if one wants to download the video. Downloads happen fast, the thumbnail display is great. Ability to put vids in folders provides for ease of organization. App is able to export vids so they can be used by other programs.

Ur the worst experience ever when u called us the sell the app u describe it like we will have the most beautiful experience but in fact u just have few locations with a low discounts and not even a large variety of places in advance for others apps they have a plenty of places with low price of membership so I would gives u all over it 0 /5 and I don't advice no one to buy the app

The app is downloading my stuff and then restarts download automatically. It’s at 95% or so and then I check the downloads again and it’s back at 1%. Also saying download failed when I have data connection and lots of space left. Very frustrating

Hi, by mistake I erase my phone and deleted all downloaded apps including Kode. So there was an important pictures and videos. I downloaded Kode again but it was empty. How can I recover my pictures and there are not many options for to someone download the app and the pics and videos keeps safe forever.
