Watch out calling to inquire re: a spectrum phone

I called regarding getting a this app phone which sounded good. I have this app tv and internet and have been happy with it. After talking with the rep, I told them I had to hold off on buying the device until I could make sure I could get away from sprint. The person said fine but make sure you call back and order it from us. Next thing I knew I had a phone sent to me. I called and said I had not ordered it so they sent an envelope to return it. That got misplaced, as I was caring for my 94 yo mom who was dying. I asked for another one but if you don’t get the phone back to them within 14 days of when they sent it you are stuck with it. They are now charging me for a phone that I did not order and is older than my current sprint phone and that phone has never been opened and the sim card never inserted, so I say be Warned, that if you even call to inquire about their phone you just might get stuck paying for something you never actually wanted. I am still with sprint but they have my payment info. Thru my billing with this app TV. I was so busy caring for my 94 yo mom who did die but they had no mercy, 0 customer service. Be very , careful if you ever call them about their phones. WARNING!!!

Very Happy With Spectrum Mobile

Sure there are dead spots, struggles, & network issues, but 99% of the time my phone works well. In comparison to Verizon it’s literally the same thing. The only thing I miss is Verizon’s external router for my Mac when I’m out & want to work from a coffee shop. I really miss that super fast mini router hookup. I’m hearing I can just use my phone as a hotspot. I’ll be trying it out on my mini vacation this weekend. For $45 per month per line & 20GB of data each phone per month, I’m very satisfied. At one point i was paying $300 per month for my daughter & I. Verizon is ridiculous, but maybe they’ve changed some. I never thought I could like the cable company again but I do. They have finally found a way to compete & save us money! Thx this app !

App Is Not Useful For Support Issues

Recently got this app and I’m constantly having to change my password every day, literally. First off, the rep who I spoke with to get set up with service didn’t mention that I could go into their new locations. I had no clue a this app Mobile Store Existed otherwise I would’ve went their first since everything from start to date has been horrible. WiFi Hotspots are impossible to get onto even though the WiFi Profile is installed, I received the wrong phone, mentioned it 3 times within the 14 days and two reps said they would exchange phone for me since I was within 14 day period. Never happened. Secondly, I made it clear I wanted to have unlimited plan, and they put me on “By The Gig.” Spectrum says you can view your cellphone bill in detail but it’s not true. If so, it’s not clear where because I tried and get nothing. Spectrum is useless.

I’m very happy with Spectrum . I was able to easily see my monthly usage anytime. After the month I was averaging less than 1G per month. I was able to switch to $14G right on Spectrum , plus I can switch back to unlimited anytime.
I have this app service at home too. Awesomely fast Internet that works all the time, all the tv you could ask for, and a landline for only $10/month... unlimited almost everywhere.
I couldn’t be happier with the products I’m using from this app. No, I don’t work for them! 😀

Same old problem!

I was surprised when I read a review that was written a year ago. I am having the same problem with my mobile app. My phone app does the exact same thing. It won't let me in I change the password and it messes up the password for my Internet. When I try to get into my mobile phone app I always have to change the password thing is after I change my password I go to my account and it wants me to sign in again. When I try to sign in again it tells me I have the wrong password after I've just changed it and they said everything was fine. So basically what is happening I am changing my password to get in and when I get in and go to go to myAccount it tells me I have to sign in again and this is after I've already signed in. Ask them about the problem and they don't know what's wrong.

Better than no app at all.

As you can see in the Apple Store’s screenshots, Spectrum rounds your data usage up to the nearest 100MB. So, if you’re paying By The Gig and want to avoid going over 1GB, you’ll have to turn your cell data off at .9GB because that’s as granular as the counter gets.
Also, even though Spectrum offers notifications, the lowest usage you can set an alert for is 1GB. So you won’t know if you’ve gone into the next gig until you have already done so.
Right now, I have supposedly used .1GB, but I just signed up for this service and rarely use cell data. My actual usage at this point is more likely something like .050GB, and Sprint’s app would have given me a number to the third decimal point. this app apparently doesn’t want to do that.
All in all though, it is better than having no app at all. Just not by much.

You are active in another session. Please close this session

When you try to sign in to Spectrum , it takes you out of Spectrum and loads the website to sign in there. After you sign in, it just keeps you on the website. Now if you (heaven forbid) close Spectrum , you’ve just screwed yourself. You are now locked out of your account on both the mobile app and the desktop website because that session remains open (and completely unavailable to you), and you can only have one session open at a time.

If you do manage to sign in and return to Spectrum , you will eventually be signed out, Face ID will not work, and you will have to sign in on the external mobile web page again. I close my background apps so of course I closed the this app app and now get to deal with this all over again. It’s a very frustrating experience and this is just with sign in page.

Good, essential features

Spectrum provides essential information in an easy to read format. Being able to switch plans is a great feature. Suggestions: 1. Show data usage with 2 decimal places so the by-the-gig users can really see how close they are, 2) allow notifications just short of the next GB so by-the-gig users can put the brakes in before hitting the next charge, and 3) fix Spectrum ’s response to the iPhone’s Touch ID feature after it’s timed out and the user has been logged out automatically. Currently using Touch ID after an automatic log out results in a “you’re not a user” error message and the user has to manually log out before the Touch ID will work again. But overall very good app.

Senior customer

There has to be an affordable way for senior citizens to access the Internet. When we were both working we had a WiFi card that allowed up to 10 devices to connect. Then we upgraded to a newer card costing more, but only five connected devices. This was all on the Verizon plan. We switched to this app router $62 a month for our home and switched our iPhone 10’s to the $14 2 gig plan.
While on our travels we didn’t have the data or connectivity to the internet so I switched my phone to unlimited.
Now we are home and I’m back on the 2 gig plan.
Can you help us? Is there a affordable mobile WiFi card available that will help us on the road.
Seriously thinking of going to one phone. We don’t have what we need in order to do band jobs. HELP!

Doesn’t function well

Spectrum redirects you to a built in web browser where you need to log in (AGAIN) in order to change a payment method or for a few other tasks. The problem is, when you add your new payment method, the “save” button is grayed out as if you haven’t entered everything correctly. So you close Spectrum and try to use a laptop of your phone’s mobile browser, seeing as Spectrum is useless for this task, and it tells you that you can’t log in until you close another session you’re already in - except you can’t access that session anymore and before you closed Spectrum there was no option to “log out” of that session. So then you just have to wait a couple hours for your phantom session to expire. Absolutely frustrating and makes Spectrum useless for billing.

Needs Work

This is my second review which is a 1 star. Following is what I write in my initial review and I I went down from 2 stars to 2 this time - July 20, 2019. It’s worse than before meaning I cannot even login to Spectrum . It’s saying that I’m not a customer and the only option I’m given is to click a button that says Learn More. When I called, I was on hold and then the call just disconnected. When I attempted to login to my mobile account online, it took me through a loop where it wouldn’t accept my login credentials. Sigh. Horrible. Horrible. Whomever is responsible should be re-evaluated on whether or not app and web development is their forte. I suggest they take all of that money they are spending on commercials and put it into ensuring Spectrum and website is up to standards.

I see why the overall rating For Spectrum is a 2. I went into Spectrum to retrieve my April billing statement, and it is not available. It only allows me to see the current billing statement (May).

I can see my April billing statement online yet it does not allow me to convert it to a PDF. That is a very fundamental function, for apps and for websites, based on my experience in using tons of apps.

I am hoping and trusting that IT is working on improving Spectrum and the billing feature on the website. Less than ideal.

Luck of change/poor navigations

this app mobile app is so poor and can’t even edit your bank card on Spectrum without directing you to their website. All small small companies have better app than this one. Payment cannot be paid before the due date and our phone nice cannot be seen on Spectrum meaning I don’t event know how much I still owe for the device. Poor functionality and very very poor app. System limitations. You can’t basically do anything on their app. Even some options that all iPhones has some of them are missing in this app mobile services. For example, if you go to the iPhone setting and then click on mobile you will see the last option that say show my call ID. There you have the option to show your call ID when placing a phone call or hide your call ID. All iPhone has this option but this app Mobile doesn’t have it.

Great App but Sign in Twice isn’t practical

Spectrum would be great and it has potential however the sign in process isn’t practical. I sign in with Face ID first but then Spectrum takes you to safari to sign in again and verify your real with a recaptcha, and then it signs in off app, then you can’t go back to Spectrum to use Spectrum and I have to sign in on safari again but this time it says I’m active in another session (I’m not) so then I can’t sign in again for awhile. Is this a bug? Can it be fixed? Am I doing something wrong? Also I can’t contact customer service through chat because I can’t sign in... I’m apparently in another session.... Again I’m not. Great app.. sign in is a hassle and inconsistent.

JUNK APP & CUSTOMER SERVICE ATTEMPTS...

As we all know by now, Spectrum is total junk, useless, wast of phone storage, and not important enough for this app to address the issues created by their inadequate software.

In addition, when I do have issues and I call in, they are nice, but can never help with experienced knowledge. I get “that’s odd, I’ve never heard of that happening before. I will make a note to tier two service and they will contact you regarding your customer service request. Never hear back and problems never solved. I did however have one agent give me the time of day to pick his brain on network security. Took some good notes. I appreciated him.

But this app as a whole has been very disappointing. Making me pay for a broken phone with software issues because I complained after the two week mark. It shouldn’t matter when , because when their product fails due to issues beyond my control, a customer shouldn’t have to pay for it. $250 more and I will be a proud owner of a Samsung 9 that I won’t and can’t use.

Would be nice if when they do not understand an issue , they could review a screen shot provided by a customer of the issue/event.

Payment

There should be an option to pay some through out the month. For instance, my daughter and I both have a phone and she pays her part and I pay mine. Since both our credit cards are in file, I was hoping to switch to mine and pay my portion and switch back to her and pay her portion. It doesn’t allow that. All my other credit cards, insurance, car payment, allows me to make a portion payment when it’s before the due date.

App issues

I hate Spectrum! A year ago i quit these people!!!! For app issues constant password changes!! I now got a bill from a collection agency for 90 dollars!!! I stopped my service when i could not get an i pad sim! That was right at the end of my month! How do i owe you 90 dollars. Ill never know because i changed my password 3 times tonight to chat with someone and none of the pass words were correct! At that when i cancelled my service the girl tried to keep me on i refused! She was actually mad!!! I dont think she followed through with my request!!! I cant reach them im not worrying. At that i never ever received a bill from them saying i owed anything when i have internet through them! Watch this company!

The mobile app is a total stinker. Problems with captcha!!

Trying to log into my this app mobile app because I am having cell issues, where every five minutes or so my phone just loses signal and has absolutely no cellular network service. In trying to log on I’m presented with a CAPTCHA. I select all of the pictures that correspond get a checkmark saying I am not a robot try to sign in and then it sends me right through the same set of steps over and over again!! So annoying and very disturbing! Please get your act together this app or I will be switching to another provider. This is after only six months of being with this app! Not a good way to form a long-term relationship. I sure hope someone sees this rating and responds!!!

App works great no problem

I have read a lot of reviews not sure why everyone is having a problem try uninstalling it and downloading again I think the more updated version this app fixed all the bugs cause it’s works great, no problems I am thankful for this app when all the other carriers wouldn’t approve me this app went off our loyalty paying for internet consistently for 5yrs no miss dates and that’s all I needed to get the most advance phones and on a outstanding plan and on the best network which is Verizon.

Review of Spectrum

I love this app because I can get weather, usually accurate, often. I used to get average local news. Now it seems to be very liberal, mostly about black people & anti Conservatives. That is unfair if you are to be a TV station for all viewers, not just women’s liberal stuff & black marches...all trying to influence the way people vote. Also your views on NC Covid for NC favors our sorry liberal governor who has hurt NC so much: schools, children, peoples’s businesses, allowing marches, looting & destruction to peoples’s finances with no Law & order.
In fact he even marched with looters & no mask. He is trying to hold out till after the election. Enough said. Please re-evaluate your presentation of the news. Rt now it is very biased. MW

*knock*knock*knock* .......is anybody there?

Where are developer responses to all the issues and complaints?

I add my vote to the mix in hopes that collectively, our voices will be loud enough that this app will finally listen and take whatever steps necessary to fix all the issues. Apparently, a complete overhaul is needed. Since developers don’t appear to be responding, I see no reason to go into great detail regarding my particular complaints. Suffice it to say, data usage on Spectrum and my account on the website don’t match. I assume the website is reflecting accurate usage since the number is moving up. It has remained the same on Spectrum since the day I downloaded it about a week ago. What good is an app that doesn’t work?

Still doesn’t work

“We’re sorry. Something didn’t work quite right. Please try again later”. That’s the error I get every time, after entering the IMEI. It has never worked and still doesn’t after last week’s “update”. If I could give zero stars, I would. I’m entering the correct login info because I can open a browser and login to the website.

UPDATE: Yay!! After 5 months of Spectrum not letting me past the IMEI entry, today’s (3/19) update seems to fix it! And it didn’t even ask for that silly IMEI. Now maybe I’ll be able to see if I like Spectrum itself.

Would be great to notify customer when approaching GB data use before rather than after

I like Spectrum for finding WiFi & the ease of the layout, but I suggest allowing users to select a specific data used point to more effectively manage their data use before the GB is fully used rather than after the bill kicks up to the next $14 (e.g., I’d like to set a notification at .8 GB, 1.8 GB used so I could restrict cell data usage rather than being notified that I just spent money I may not have had to). Otherwise, it’s a user friendly app.

Not user friendly.

I throw my hat in with the less than satisfied users. If all you need is to occasionally see your bill or data usage then it’s okay. However, I’d like an app that also shows when I’m connected to this app hotspots. I have a hotspot profile setup but it’s a mystery if it works as advertised. The other pain in the rear is having to log in every time I want to glance at usage, etc. I have facial recognition setup and I still have to search through my passwords (iPhone XR) every time I want to use the limited functions of Spectrum . IMO Spectrum falls far short of reasonable expectations. I’m happy with my service but less than satisfied with Spectrum . Cheers

Spectrum mobile app

I’ve had the moble service about a month and have had Spectrum as long. I’ve enjoyed using Spectrum to find my usage and used it to upgrade service this month even. It’s worked great. The only issue I’ve had is logging in every time. Would like to see it use face recognition or at least be able to save my login name if not password as well. Other than that I’ve loved it!

How about some security????????????

Okay since it is 2019 can this app actually take security seriously for once? Still no security measurements in place for any this app services whether it be cable service or mobile besides basic authentication. Come on get on the program and either offer 2FA or discontinue all of your services since if any of this app’s services got breached an attacker could hack your mobile account, than WIFI and than whatever else since gained access to mobile or cable accounts...geez be like X-Finity they have their own 2FA app for their services! this app just doesn’t believe in security for their clients for logging in purposes!!!

Worst mobile cellular app ever

I have had apps from at least six mobile apps, this is by far the worst. I sign in and every time it states “exiting this app app”, takes me to a page, i sign in again, then an “I’m not a robot” check box, then verify by clicking blurry pictures of cars, fire hydrants, stop light, steps at least 15 times. Then a third sign in page, and an error that something went wrong. How $&@#% stupid and frustrating! Using web browser on mobile or laptop, I sign in, click “I’m not a robot” and see my info. Why have this stupid jump through hoops app?

Unable to load

Spectrum worked when I first switched to this app mobile, then it stopped working on iPhone and iPad. I can log in to my account using internet. I uninstalled app and reloaded, turned off iPhone and back on. Phone is up to date. Still not working, I called this app, helpless desk. Said app works for her but would send email to manger. Uninstalling since app does not work. Will not recommend either. Spectrum has very basic info, how much data you have used and to notify you when you are close going over data limit.

Doesn’t work

Just switched to this app Mobile, downloaded the mobile app and can’t get past the Enter IMEI screen. For the last two weeks Spectrum has returned the message “try again later”.

Don’t know if this is of any help to the developers but on an iphone Xr the last four digits of the Imei are displayed as xxx x (there’s a space between digits 3&4). Any chance the backend database stores the imei with the space? When we enter the imei on the phone app, only the numerical keyboard is available and the space character is not available, so we enter the imei as xxxx.

The app works well, however one suggestion for improvement

Spectrum has worked fine on my iPhone so far, however, I wish that developers would add a widget option, so that I could more easily see me data usage. The Verizon app provided a data usage widget, and I do miss that feature.

Not working please fix

I have heard Spectre mobile phone for about a month and Spectrum has not worked at all since I’ve had it and I am using the $14 plan so I cannot watch my usage very well luckily I did get a email about when I reach my won’t get your mark I understand that this is a new service but if Spectrum was not ready to be launched in still underneath a maintenance it should’ve been available through Spectrum Store when it’s working I will change my rating that one star is still too high of a rating for a nonworking app.

Cycle dates and data usage inaccurate.

Overall OK, but two big things:
1. The end date of the billing cycle is incorrect, it’s off by one day. My cycle ends on the 25th of each month, but Spectrum states it ends on the 26th.
2. Data usage is inaccurate. If your actual usage is, say, 2.12G, Spectrum rounds up and will show it as 2.2G, which is almost a 100MB difference.

Please fix these important information items.

I switched to spectrum mobile from Verizon. What a huge mistake. I got the worst phone service ever. Intermittent, and dropped calls. Sometimes I wouldn't receive calls at all, and my iPhone 11 wouldn't even know someone called me. I called Spectrum customer service. Most people I spoke to were incompetent. They gave me the run-around transferring me between departments. One of them deactivated my line leaving me without service. I had to spend about 9 hours on the phone with them to try to reactivate and no one was successful in doing so. If I could rate them negative stars, I would.
