I've had it!!!!

UPDATE: I am now upgrading my rating from a one star to three stars because it appears that the kinks are out and it now works as expected. I would have given it five stars but it took customer service way too long to respond to my emails.

April 2nd they did an update to ChicagoSunTimes and I have not been able to receive my paper more than 2 consecutive days. It may show up but u can not download it or the download form will appear the next day. I send emails explaining each incident to no avail. I even tried to call and speak to tech support but that's not allowed; you must email your issue. How's that for customer service for a company hanging on to its existence? I'm calling in my cancellation to my 7 day subscription that I've had since 1984 and will be content with just reading the daily Chicago Tribune. Wonder if someone will contact me then.

Awful, what were they thinking?!?

Pluses---able now to email/print articles and crosswords.

Negatives--Can't get rid of annoying headers and footers; pages reset to smaller size each time so I have to expand every page; headlines now in a standout blue which I find distracting and ugly; can't expand crossword for printing so easier to work; no longer have pages to select, only categories--if I want to read hockey but not baseball, I have to scroll through the whole section.

Overall--made an effort to look more like a web page which is silly because if I wanted a web page, I'd go to the web page! ChicagoSunTimes should be more like a newspaper, like the previous version. This is just like New Coke--basically a total failure in my book!

Current version does not work at all

A couple weeks ago ChicagoSunTimes updated. It still shows an small image of the current front page, but when you click to read it you are sent to a login page with nothing on it except the words "Log in". Nowhere to type our login info, and nothing to click. Dead end.

It's totally broken for those of us who voluntarily chose to pay to subscribe under the new system for this feature.

Nearly two weeks have passes and still can’t sign in

new update doesn’t work on my Ipad. It does not have a log in on screen. I sent a note to the tech but still no action. There are many complaints but there is absolutely no action to fix this. What’s up?

This is a follow up. It’s been nearly two weeks and the developer still has not fixed the log in problem. Please go back to the old app so I can read my paper. AWFUL.

Resolution fix

ChicagoSunTimes needs to fix the resolution to allow the screen size to be used properly. It has been almost a year and half since the 12.9 been out! Come on!!

UPDATE: the resolution has been fixed on the 12.9 ipad pro!!! Thank you! Thank you! The paper looks GREAT NOW!

Wow!

I, myself, am not from the Chicago area, but ChicagoSunTimes is just genius. You can get all the editions of the Sun-Times you can handle, and the best part is, you don't have to pay a cent to get an issue! More people, especially Chicagoans, need to know about ChicagoSunTimes.

Decent app

App is simple and easy to use. Swiping your finger turns the page. My only gripe is ChicagoSunTimes doesn’t save your place if you close it. It always opens on the front page. Other than that, I’m satisfied and use ChicagoSunTimes to read the news every morning.

Easy

Enter in your email twice and you're set, easy to use. Can take a long time to download because my wifi is slow, but no complaints

Two weeks broken and no fix in sight

Update: 2 weeks since they disabled ChicagoSunTimes. If they can’t fix it, let us go back to the previous version. Unacceptable. Unbelievable.

Can’t login to ChicagoSunTimes since the “update” last Thursday. Can’t read the paper. App is useless. No fix? Please fix so all of us that have complained can read the paper again. Are you trying to lose subscribers?

Can’t log in

The updated app does not allow me to input my login details. I see others have this problem. Please fix! (Rated four stars because it worked fine before the update.)

Not Optimized for iPhone X

The developers have not optimized ChicagoSunTimes to fully fit on the displays of iPhone X/Xs/etc. Just like the CTA's Ventra app, the top and bottom of the display are still thick black bars, making the reading much area. This should have been taken care of more than a year ago. It took about 30 seconds for me to realize this and delete ChicagoSunTimes off of my phone. It's a much better reading experience in your web browser.

Perfect

I don’t know why other reviewers are complaining but whether it’s on my phone at work, or on my iPad at home I love it.

With ChicagoSunTimes I can zoom in to read a particular part the other sun times app opened the page and was difficult to zoom at times.

For the reviews that say when you jump off ChicagoSunTimes it returns you back to page one -
Just bookmark the page your on before closing. Easy money

Can’t Log In - Unusable

I got tired of seeing John Kass’s face every morning in the Chicago Tribune so I decided to give the Sun Times another try. But after downloading ChicagoSunTimes to my iPad, when I try to log in, nothing happens. No error message, but no login. ChicagoSunTimes just sits there on the login page. One wonders if they did even the minimum amount of testing on ChicagoSunTimes...? Or why they would bother to release an inaccessible newspaper?!

Works great!

I can easily see every page. Pinching to make the font bigger and smaller is a easy and painless. Love it!

Login Issue

Current update has an issue with not being able to log into the account to read the paper. Fix this problem please immediately.

Can’t sign in to the app ,

I can read the paper on ChicagoSunTimes since you updated it on 13apr23 , there’s no sign in page , so should I just cancel the paper?

By

Decent Content, but

Why can you not seem to fix the log in problem? On a very random basis, ChicagoSunTimes requires readers to log in again. I subscribe to five other newspapers and this is the only one with that issue. Come on, guys, time to leave amateur hour behind and fix the problem.

By

Good, when it works

I have paid subscription app, and when it works it is good. However, at least once a week the paper cannot be downloaded until afternoon, and yesterday and today there is no download. About par for the course as a paperboy used to be.

In addition, ChicagoSunTimes is a bit wonky, skipping around to different places, seemingly on its own.

If it’s not broke, don’t fix it!

The update to your App should be rated -5 stars because after it did it’s automatic update, I can no longer log in when. Asked to do so. The Log In button does nothing when clicked on. I’ll be calling you tomorrow to cancel my subscription.

Not working

Today is April 26 and I still cannot sign into ChicagoSunTimes to read the paper. The online version is not as convenient nor is the ability to zoom out as far. I have written to Support and I was told ‘They are working on it’. It is taking way too long.
