Frustrating

Charging doesn’t follow the online profile I made. It’s so frustrating. I have 3 different electricity charge times. My car didn’t charge during the cheapest time, but started in the middle of the most expensive time. Arrrrg!!!! What’s the point!!! I double checked online (since you can’t fix location profiles from MyFord -lame), and It’s all correctly done online. I’d rather be able to turn on/off charging from my phone and set alarms for myself rather than play roulette with charging times. But, that’s not possible from MyFord . You literally have to plug and unplug your car manually if you want to do that. Maybe I’ll get a smart plug adapter and do it from that instead. It’s kinda sad that those $10 smart plugs can do something my $30K plug in car app can’t.

Dear Ford,

Electric is the future, so you should really start putting in the groundwork now...

Should have same features as ford pass app

App is ok when it works but I rarely use it now. I was so happy when I bought my new 2017 Fusion Titanium energi because not only did I love the car but I also thought I would have the same functions on MyFord as the Ford pass app. I was sadly mistaken. If I would have known that before I purchased the car I probably would have looked more into the Ford Fusion Titanium like I went in to purchase. MyFord isn’t bad when it works but it’s not great either and after my 5 years I wouldn’t pay anything for MyFord, if I even keep the car that long. The “bug fix” they say was recently fixed wasn’t really fixed. Instead of MyFord always logging you out every time you did anything on MyFord now it only occasionally signs you out and the contact customer service at the 800# doesn’t show up as much. If they added the Ford pass features with the features on MyFord and the issues with MyFord weren’t at frequent as they still are after several “fixes” and updates then MyFord would be great. Other than that I could completely be fine without ever having MyFord.

Wrong notification.

I get a notification that my car is scheduled to charge at a certain time when I have never scheduled my car to be charged. Also don't know how and don't want to schedule my car for a specific time to charge. Otherwise great app. Another problem, MyFord opens fine on my iPhone 5c but now that I got an iPhone 7 Plus MyFord would not let me login, keeps shutting down when I open it. That was eventually fixed. I can remote start, lock my car from miles away when I forget to lock it. I always have it on ‘charge now’ mode to make sure it has a full charge when I need it. The only wrong notification I get now is “had an accidental unplug when charging”, it was not in charge mode as I was out and about in a shopping parking lot. Notification number on app keeps increasing without being cleared.

Pretty UI not close to accurate with discharge and trip log

Pretty UI but clunky in operation as it frequently requires quitting to back out of a menu choice, but big issue is that it’s completely WRONG with respect to battery energy discharge tracking. My 2014 CMax Energi said it was only getting 3-3.5 kWH from a full charge, down from 7.6 kWH spec for new. I was getting about 50% of original range. Dealer does balance and discharge test that shows 6-6.1 kWH - I have the graphs directly from service. App now showing 3.7 kWH, so about 40% off. Do the developers need help to know which PIDs to pull for MyFord as Ford dealers are using different ones that are more accurate.

Definitely Needs Improvement

I do not wish to be overly critical in my review. I use MyFord daily. For basic information about my 2019 Fusion Energi it is okay. —I give the developers credit for their work and say thank you.

That being said, I would request some additional work and development be invested into refining MyFord . —The latest update which happened autumn of 2020 was a step backward. Since then I receive errant information about my charges, the full capacity of the charge, and incomplete information as to whether a charge was completed at all.

In addition MyFord is more difficult to use than it has to be. —Will not let the user easily input data nor profile information.

I’m simply not “geeky” enough to use use an app for that requires more than medium technical knowledge. —But most of these car are not being driven by “kids.” MyFord should be relatively user friendly and intuitive. But most of all, it should be accurate about the information it provides.

I enjoy my Energi immensely. MyFord however is unnecessarily frustrating. —Thank you for your time.

It use to work...

It use to work fine but now all it does is try to update and fails... I rebooted my phone with no change so I deleted MyFord and reinstalled it. It’s still doing the same thing.

Got an update. You would think that would fix it.... but NO! It still fails to update.

After spending hours on the phone talking to many people, they finally told me the modem in my car needed a firmware update and only the dealer could do it. I talked to my dealer and said they could only update sync for $125 even though it’s still under warranty. I had already updated Sync, so I called a different dealer and they updated the modem firmware from 1.4.1 to 1.4.4 under warranty. Now MyFord works fine.

Can you make it work better for an iPhone?

I like MyFord, but if I want to go back or go to a different screen I have to exit the entire app. The back button does not work due to the design of the new Apple phones. The developers need to update this. Also I noticed that looking for a charge place does not bring you to the right charging station. I was brought to a Tesla station which does not work on this car. I was also brought to the Nissan dealership which again did not work on this car. I really like being able to lock the doors and see what’s going on with my car from my phone, although the other day it said it was in the Gulf of Mexico...ha!

Bring Back ‘My Ford Pass’ for Electric Vehicles!!!

ZERO Stars!!!

Love your Electric Cars, HATE your annoying and LESS than WORTHLESS APP.! Worst App. in the industry! Just look at your reviews in MyFord . Store! Do ANY of you at Ford actually READ these terrible reviews?! For me, your App. is TOTALLY USELESS as I cannot even sign in after multiple attempts after the latest update. MyFord . just flashes away and crashes on iPad. Last year’s version was so much better but still not as good as My Ford Pass that actually worked BEFORE you INTENTIONALLY disabled it for electrics. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT???!!! Rebooting and Reinstalling is of no help. Look at your competition and Learn! The Tesla owners are sooo much more fortunate with their App.

FIX IT! Or MOVE IT BACK to My Ford Pass where it was actually USEFUL!!! Please! Thank You...

Nonfunctional.

I just purchased a 2018 Ford Fushion Hybrid. I downloaded the Ford app to not be able to use, but to be shooed to another app that has zero functionality. I open MyFord and it tells me MyFord has been “Decommissioned”. Also that MyFord is no longer available and has migrated to FordPass…………………. Which I can’t use! Highly disappointing since MyFord would make my daily commute easier.

I love my Fords but this is unacceptable. Ford generates so much money and has recognition across the nations and they put a five year old in charge of developing their apps. I’m sure it doesn’t matter since the first review I read stating the same issue was 3 years ago but I will not purchase another Ford since they obviously do not care about their customers.

Recent update made app accessible on iphone only & not both iPhone & iPad like before

I used to be able to log in my 4 digit passcode on my mini iPad but now this recent update has made me unable to type in my passcode because I can only get access to the digits 1-6 on my iPad, only digits 1-6 appear in my iPad, I can’t even scroll down to be able to access other digits 7,8,9 & 0. This update doesn’t let me be able to access all the digits 1-0 like before in order to log in my passcode to check the charging status of my ford car. This update made it so I can only use MyFord on my iPhone instead of accessible like before of access to it on both iPhone & iPad.

Ford Missed the Market

I’ve owned my 2013 FOCUS FFE since 2015 and enjoyed it immensely, but like so many others I’m confused by Fords lack of support for not just the Focus, but to future electric car buyers.
You would have thought we (current electric owners) would have been the first ones offered deep discounts to not only buy but promote Fords future entry into the EV market.
I don’t know who’s running their EV division, but I’ve gotta believe it’s the same guy that ran Coca Cola’s campaign & invented “New COKE...Wow took the number one soft drink maker in the world and ruined it in 1 day.

Tesla model 3 will be my next EV. Time tested, fully supported, and affordable on the secondary market

The new app design is terrible

Don’t update MyFord if you can help it. They took a decent app and made it less usable.
Lots of stark white background with no option to dim it or switch to dark mode.
The on the home screen is much smaller than it used to be, making it harder to find the two most important pieces of information: battery percentage and projected distance.
Blue text on the screen that isn’t a tapable link.
Buried the station finder in the menu; a frequently used feature now moved off the home screen.

Great app, when it works

I use this mostly to keep track of charging times or to check current charge level. Lately it has been randomly logging me out of MyFord which is highly annoying. It isn’t the fastest app but when it works I find it much more convenient than opening the car and checking readouts. The other features to control door locks are nice but I haven’t had to use them yet. I hope MyFord gets the attention it needs so it can become more reliable.

Ford’s Cruel Joke

App was so cool when it worked.

My kids loved talking about it. So I was always very happy, appreciative and even proud via the game of best driving / economy conservation. However, MyFord is constantly not working, or more like, never worked except for a few choices times. Seems so crazy to build something that created so much good word of mouth only to do the exact opposite as myself and other adopters become frustrated and perplexed why something that could work has been ignored, mismanaged and abandoned. Long story short, don’t give me something that I’m going to like and then show no commitment. It feels worse than never having it, which is ironic, but the truth.

Pony Express Competitor — look out

Rarely inspired to write app reviews. But maybe I can save 10 minutes of productive time for you. MyFord is really annoying.
Yes it sort of works. But in car analogies MyFord is just the engine with a trashy interior cabin. No exterior body at all.
You will find yourself logged out randomly and often. Then once you get back in it will cycle to find and update your car in a perpetual loop. The only way to get MyFord usable again is to find your fuses and hard reset them. That then works for a bit until randomly it does not. So if the body is all the final and finish of a car MyFord lacks that.

Would give zero stars if the option was available

Hands down worst app on the marketplace. My wife bought her new 16 fusion 2 years ago now and was so excited about the remote start function of MyFord and all the other neat little features of MyFord . Well we got the car home and MyFord worked as intended for about 3 months then one day just completely stopped working. Wouldn’t update the vehicle anymore at all. And now 18+months later it still doesn’t work. Why would you advertise such a broken app and use it as a selling point at the dealerships. I really feel swindled and ford will never get another dollar from me.

Used to work just fine

Until I took my 2016 Fusion Energi in to have the modem replaced. Now the range is stuck on 6 miles which is what the range was when I took it into the dealer.

Edit: I’ve had to come back and edit my review. It turns out there was a problem with a module in the car that wasn’t allowing communication with MyFord and the dealer has since resolved that issue. But I’ve had to come back a change my review because now I’ve upgraded my phone and MyFord doesn’t even open anymore. This new model of phone has been on the market for some time now and any issues should have been solved by now.

Getting better

It’s still has a lot of bugs in locks up routinely. Compared to another hybrid cars apps however, it’s highly functional. I like the stats and the reward system like the distance since last fill up feature. I also like the new feature that tells you if the windows are down or if the doors have been left unlocked.

Nothing perfect but it’s come along way and I’m glad they are keeping it updated.

Don’t worry, be HAPPY

Big thank you to Ford for finally fixing the automatic logout problem! I had come to depend on MyFord to keep tabs on my CMAX Energi while it charged at work (as we are required to move the car once it is charged). The previous update which caused MyFord to automatically log you out was a major PAIN! So happy that the latest update fixed that! Now I can love the Ford app again...

App is a joke

MyFord will ONLY allow you to set charging times, locate the car (never personally used this), remote start through MyFord , and lock and unlock the car. Electric cars used to be supported by the FordPass app, they discontinued this and now I have no access to accounts, oil life management, nothing. Don’t bother with MyFord . Looks like electric car owners are being shut out. Wasn’t this the wave of the future?!?!

Suggestion - make a better app for the electric cars that does EVERYTHING the FordPass app does and more - since it should have charging capabilities.
