This is my first time writing a review but i must for this. I have never been so disappointed by a bank service like I have by this one. I have a business account that I am regularly depositing checks to, three days after I deposited a check, they decided to put a seven-day hold on it with no explanation. It was not the first time I deposited a check from this specific client. When I finally got in touch with one of their supervisors, he was very rude and didn’t even try listening to me. DON’T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID! THE WORST BANK EVER! HOLDING MONEY FOR NO REASON IS ILLEGAL!

Where ever this is being devoted, they should fire the entire team. Since this app was taken over SVB has gone from bad to worse and today, you cannot make a deposit. Terrible app, don’t bother until they fix the basic bugs of being able to deposit a check.

It takes a lot of clicks to deposit checks. I’d recommend going to the next screen without asking for a confirmation (click) each time. For instance, once a check is deposited, it’s safe to assume another check needs to be deposited. There’s no reason to ask (click) to confirm another check needs to be deposited. It’s just one more click that takes time to load.
In general, SVB is unstable and often lags or errors out.

It’s not often you come across a bank with a mobile app this horrible, but it’s doubly ironic when they are supposedly a Silicon Valley bank. I would rather deposit the checks into our Wells Fargo account and transfer the money to this app than go through the nightmare of trying to get the mobile deposit feature to work. Unbelievable. The experience is bad enough to make me switch banks solely due to how bad SVB is.

Not sure if it’s due to a new update and if it’s strictly only affecting iphone users but SVB is not optimized for pro max - the drop down buttons on the top left are covered by the iphone panel and cannot be clicked - basically rendering SVB useless - not able to process wires or deposit checks is incredibly frustrating

It’s shameful for Silicon Valley company to have this kind of app out for its customers. this app should fire its Dev team and hire a new team or consultants to rebuild SVB.
For example - the “Tour” says you can deposit checks, but that option is missing. It requires some access to be granted, but there is no way to do that online, even when I’m the main and sole administrator of the account.
this app - read the customer feedback on App stores and fix these basic problems!

SVB might work well for personal use but for businesses with many accounts it is not good. Clunky navigation, bank accounts enabled for mobile banking but don’t show up on drop down list for making deposits, accounts jump around a lot when you scroll. Not smooth at all.

this app is the go to bank for startups but they’ve rested on this position too long implementing almost no visible technological innovations. SVB is pretty bare bones, borderline horrible. It has no Face ID, no automatic sign in, no saved passwords and usernames, no ACH transfers without a DocuSign, and lacks many other features of almost every other consumer banking app. I’d look at other alternatives if you’re a founder like Mercury or Brex.

unable to do ANY business deposits this week due to lack of update. version history shows 9 MONTHS since the last upgrade. after a few days of alert on SVB , they’ve simply stopped communicating that SVB no longer works for mobile deposit with this OS.

Worst user experience I have ever had with an app or bank. You have to request the ability to make mobile deposit, and when you do, they add a button label “mobile deposit” that just refreshes the page and does nothing. The only reason I want a mobile account is to make mobile deposits.

Can’t access the top menu because it is behind the iOS status tray. As others have mentioned if you ever can get it to work the check photo capture feature doesn’t orient correctly to landscape

just switched to an iPhone 15 Pro Max and SVB doesn’t work as well anymore. It hangs during mobile deposit, the auto check capture function doesn’t rotate, and it seems that user testing wasn’t done very well.

SVB is a very primitive and out of date. Navigation is poor and clearly not the product of user centered design. Ironic given this app’s role as a popular bank in the tech/startup world. That said, once you learn your way around, you can get the necessary tasks completed (in my case, usually mobile deposit).

this app looks sleek but has one of the worst user experiences I’ve ever had with a bank. Mobile login is awful (won’t remember credentials, and even facial recognition doesn’t work because it won’t recognize that a password is in there if you don’t “type” something in manually. The prefill won’t work), the website is clunky, having a sweep account makes the information you get nearly useless without using excel to clean it up.

The recent update in September 2023, is not optimized for iPhone max screens. Please fix immediate as the top left account button and other menu options are getting cut off on the top of the screen not allowing any ability to go back to accounts.

The overall UIUX experience needs to be significantly improved compared to other bank/financial apps.

We love working with this app, however, with so much effort being spent on marketing to tech companies I would expect to see a better user experience on all mobile banking options. I’m hoping things will get a little better as time goes on.

Always 5 star service at this app. Their app is intuitive and the communication between our business and theirs is phenomenal.

SVB is fantastic. I have been able to monitor our six accounts transfer money between them approve outgoing wires and more. For someone who runs meaningful amounts of capital across several entities this is a useful tool

Really convenient for depositing checks, able to do all my banking online!
