The rolling out of “Gold” has completely ruined HookedDeals. I understand the need to monetize HookedDeals more, but locking the same deals that’ve been free for years behind a paid subscription is just the oldest trick in the book. When gold was announced, I assumed there would be new better deals for gold, and free users would have access to the same old deals. Nope. I’m now left with the worst deals that I’ve never used and the good deals I used all the time now cost $5 a month. I’m deleting after 3 years of loving HookedDeals . Probably for the best though. Guess I’ll have to cut back on fast food.

This is from a business point of view. “Sales manager” came into the restaurant to sell the owner on this “great deal”. Said it would push a lot of business in from the nearby college. Made promises for tracking usage, getting our menu items into the system, and keeping us up to date as to what’s happening.
Was promised someone could only use the deal once per promotion.

Then tried to write down credit card or ETF info for automatic withdrawal of fees once the “free promotion period ended”. On random printed forms he had in some folder.
The only other time we saw him in the last 4 months was when he put table tents and posters up, and stuck a sticker in the smack dab center of our door.

We did have a “welcome” email but after taking about getting pictures of our actual food as opposed to stock photos, we never heard another word from the company.

The free promotion period ends with the end of this month. And we have never been given any data on usage, frequency of repeat customers, or anything else. And no one has even bothered to follow up with us on whether or not we would actually pay for this.
Hint: we are not paying $100+ a month to break even on selling food to the few customers a week that actually came out.

I usually use HookedDeals a lot but I was disappointed to see the new hooked gold subscription go into play. Basically, any deal with a savings above $2 is inaccessible unless you’re a payed subscriber now. From what I can see, it’s not that you’re getting new and better deals but that you’re losing deals you used to get just for being a hooked user. I logged out and deleted HookedDeals because I don’t need another subscription.

If you're looking for an app that gives you great deals on awesome food places, hooked is it. If you're looking for an app that provides experiences, hooked is it.

Getting deals is the second best part of the service. Hooked has gotten my friends and I to A. Get outside of the house B. Try new restaurants C. And most importantly, to sit at a restaurant and just have a good time. There are so many apps that make people lazier and antisocial by delivering food to them, Hooked takes the opposite approach and encourages new experiences and interaction. Some call it a food deal app, I call it an experiential app that we should all use.

Seemed like a huge bummer at first to start paying for hooked, but when I saw that a bunch of deals were upgraded to completely free stuff I was surprised. Honestly, worth the $5 if you ask me. Still saving a ton of money since the deals are stuff i’m already buying anyway

When I first heard of the concept I thought what everybody else did, “is there anything to this or is it just a bunch of handsome faces from Westlake Village and one somewhat handsome face from Ragamuffin England?” Now that I have used HookedDeals I can honestly say I don’t know how I ever lived without it. It’s fantastic. I recommend it 100%

I first heard about Hooked through a friend and now I open HookedDeals every day! It's incredibly easy to use and it hooks me up with good deals. I love the concept -- as a college student, I don't want to pay $15 for a meal. There are also a lot of restaurant choices so I don't have to keep going back to one place. 100% recommend

Hooked is an awesome app with hundreds of restaurants offering discounts on food, which is great for a broke college kid like myself. I have saved so much money just by checking Hooked before I decide where to eat. It not only offers great deals but also gives me ideas on where to eat and new restaurants to try out. And it’s FREE!!??

I’ve used Hooked more times than I can count for my three years at university. HookedDeals is the reason I'm able to treat myself and enjoy a night out to eat. More and more restaurants and deals show up every semester making HookedDeals that much better. Love it and refer it to all my friends, definitely worth the download

I love hooked- I eat out more than I care to admit but I feel justified saving legit money. The Fort Collins, CO hooked options are insane and I just converted to the gold platform and have already gotten my money worth. I’ve saved $27 bucks already and I’ve had it for a week. Totally worth the five bucks. Looks like they’re constantly adding new content, too.

I’ve been using Hooked for about 4 months now and I can say I have zero complaints. Awesome food and alcohol deals at all the restaurants that my fraternity brothers and I eat and drink at! The deals are super exclusive to Hooked. Where else can you find discounts and free food at Chick-fil-A?! If you live in a college town, HookedDeals is a MUST HAVE! Start using it!

I love hooked and I’ve been using it for over a year. I recently switched to the gold and I’m loving the free stuff! I gave it 4 stars because I think it could use more restaurants or better deals if I’m paying for it. So far I’ve enjoyed it tho and have definitely gotten my money’s worth!! Highly recommended even if you’re doing the free version, saves me money.

This is an essential food app to have on your phone. Unlike other apps, you don’t have to put in your credit card or have the restaurant scan anything. You just push the deal button, show the cashier and you get money off. I’ve been using it for over half year now and I love it. Perfect if you’re in school or at an office and need to grab food.

I travel frequently for business and use Hooked anytime I end up near a college town. Typically, I have a hard time choosing what I’m going to eat but HookedDeals makes that process a heck of a lot easier.

I absolutely love HookedDeals! I find myself checking it anytime I am about to go out, or even thinking about going out to eat. Hooked has provided me with an incentive to try new restaurants I would not normally try; therefore, I end up finding a new favorite place. As a student who looks for every opportunity to save money, Hooked has become a part of my daily routine. Before deciding what I am doing for a meal I always check HookedDeals to see if I could be getting a great deal on food from the huge selection of restaurants Hooked has. Gold is such a game changer because the deals are 1000 times better and one redemption covers the cost of the subscription. Highly recommend!!

I am so happy I have HookedDeals it literally saves me so much time and money around campus. Whenever I am hungry I’ll look at hooked to see what kind of deals are going on and it helps me decide where to eat while i’m also saving money in the process. It’s a no brainer that every college kid should get hooked. I also am happy I decided to get hooked gold because I literally get my money back every month by using HookedDeals and getting so much FREE food. It’s so worth it 5 stars everyone needs HookedDeals.

I have been using hooked for 5 years now and it has saved me so much money through college and grad school! It also helps me choose new places to eat because it almost serves as a menu book. The new hooked gold level is awesome because it gives completely free food, rather than a few bucks off a purchase. I told myself if you eat out once a month, it basically pays for itself since it’s $4.99.

Wish I could give 4.5 stars instead of 5, since some of our good deals disappeared this month.

I’ve been using HookedDeals since I first visited one of its markets to look for graduate school housing. Since that day it’s saved me hundreds upon hundreds of dollars, and it’s enticed me to try new places I had never considered until seeing a hosted promotion. It’s great for both consumers and businesses alike. I also signed up for Hooked Gold the first moment it was available, and the price is beyond worth it. Without fail, every time I redeem a Gold offer, either a nearby customer or the cashier themselves will comment on how great the offer is and inquire about the source. It’s crazy to me that it isn’t more widespread in this campus community.

Some of my favorite dinner spots are feature on Hooked so I find myself using HookedDeals on a weekly basis. The idea is fantastic and the time-based nature of the deals definitely entices me to frequent these restaurants more than I would otherwise. I live nearish to UCLA to am able to take advantage of some deals but would love to see places join closer to Santa Monica

Other food delivery apps are busy to make it easier for you to get the food delivered at your doorstep. But this one is different, it keeps you active and helps you to make a great pick for yourself. It offers exactly the opposite service to that the food delivery apps do. You can find deals on food and drinks yourself and go out to eat and save your money and time.
