Kids Academy Learning Games Reviews

I’m so disappointed to write this review. I’ve been a fan of “Kids Academy” and their material. My son has always been really interested in technology so a platform such as this one allowed me to expose him without feeling too guilty about screen time. We started purchasing exercise apps from the group (which was a huge success) and later decided to give a try to the subscription option. Unfortunately KidsAcademyLearningGames, the one they develop to support the “academy path”, is full of glitches. From the long time it takes to download content, to the constant (soooo constant) clashes, to exiting out of the classroom section,... they just can’t keep my sons attention for very long. After 10 min, having to restarted 2 times and waiting forever for the video to download, and the elephant saying “watch the video” that never starts, my son just throws a “I don’t want to do this anymore” and we are done. Oh well... I guess I don’t want to do this anymore either. We are locked for 2 more month in the quarterly subscription but plan to cancel after that.

I get so frustrated with KidsAcademyLearningGames because it gets stuck loading something half the time and it gives instructions you have to skip skip skip through even though we’ve done it several times an know what to do. . It is really just worksheets so you might as well get a book of worksheets. And this only gives a few worksheets and then you have to go to the website or something to get more. Why not just have more available to continue? We like to do them with the Apple Pencil so that makes it more fun but not everyone has that and a pro. The worksheets don’t always seem appropriate sometimes. PK is too easy but sometimes K or 1 are too difficult - the jump is too much. I like that it has so much to offer but so far it is frustrating and not worth the hefty price. Some if it might be my fault because I haven’t figured out how to access more worksheets or find the activity I want or the video the kids want but I don’t really want to take the time to navigate KidsAcademyLearningGames that should be more intuitive.

Are use KidsAcademyLearningGames with and several moderate to severe autistic middle schoolers and they love it! I love that there are so many mini games within KidsAcademyLearningGames and they are all very high-quality. The games engage a wide range of my students and the overall app is designed in such a way that all of the different games feel distinct from each other, but carry over enough design elements across the different games to build a sense of familiarity and confidence when a student tries a new game for the first time. The games cover skills that are actually very key to cognitive development, like sequencing, sorting based on different attributes, and matching. I have honestly worked with several 13-15 year old special needs students who have NEVER been successful with using an iPad and learning with an iPad who were then completely successful with KidsAcademyLearningGames!!!

This company has the absolute worst customer service. I tried to sign up for the free trial but couldn’t figure out how to start the trial. I emailed to inquire about it but did not get a response for days - but they would not extend the trial so I could actually have a week to try it.

We tried to use it with the few days we had left on the trial, but KidsAcademyLearningGames keeps crashing. We had to delete it and reinstall it more than once to get it working.

I decided I did not want to continue the trial, because all my kid wanted to do was watch the videos. However, I could not find any way to cancel because KidsAcademyLearningGames is continually crashing. I emailed them three days ago and still no response. In the meantime I find that my card has been charged $40. $40 for an app I do not want and can’t even use if I did want to. I am very angry about this.

Btw, I see that many of the five-star reviews were posted on June 16 or thereabouts. Are those real reviews or were they paid??

To the developers: thanks for your response. But you have not addressed my problem. I still have not received any response about cancelling. Are you going to keep charging me $40 every few months, whether I like it or not? What kind of business are you running? I want a refund of the $40 you charged to my card, and assurance that you will not continue to charge me for something I do not want and can’t even use.

I purchase KidsAcademyLearningGames 11/5 (and my night mare started because KidsAcademyLearningGames keeps crashing , No only that correct answers was wrong answers my child get frustrated etc )I delete that app a couples times and finally enough is enough I delete for good . I contact you developer and seems like that game start . A couples day later I receive a email Question me and ask me for proof to help them to fix KidsAcademyLearningGames ( screenshots with the wrong answers, screenshots of KidsAcademyLearningGames sticks exactly and which actions I did before KidsAcademyLearningGames stuck ? Etc..) are you serious! What part you developers don’t understand went I said I delete that app ( 11/5 same day )are you guys going to charge me for a couple hours ?o I have to charge you for waisted my time ? I already contact my bank and send emails that we exchange ,I need my money back. And stop to play around ! What kind of business are you running?

I was skeptical about KidsAcademyLearningGames because of the price, but when my little one started using KidsAcademyLearningGames 3 month ago he was so happy even doing math and writing cause it's organized through playing. There are some simple games for children to play as they reinforce their understanding. These are usually a variation of drag and drop or multiple choice questions and, while not being games in the truest sense, brighten up the player's learning.
This program is an investment, find a way to get this! It's is worth your child's future! Talented & Gifted is worth every dollar, you won't regret it! I have recommended this to all my family and friends!

I downloaded KidsAcademyLearningGames for my daughter and it didn't take long to realize that it really wasn't what I was looking for in an app for my daughter. Nothing against KidsAcademyLearningGames , but She has another learning app which covers everything in this one.

Within hours of downloading KidsAcademyLearningGames I tried to cancel my free trial. When the option wasn't available via support (as per the instructions) I emailed the company that I wanted to cancel. They responded offering me a special price on KidsAcademyLearningGames to which I responded no thank you, and again requested they end my trial immediately.

Well, today I was charged the annual subscription price for KidsAcademyLearningGames! Despite my having asked twice to please cancel. App buyer beware, evidently the free trial comes with some serious bags attached, and you'll have to put in some serious effort to dispute charges.

My son was about 2.5 years old when I downloaded this game for him. I did the free trial first, then I wanted to cancel because I was going to go for the much advertised competitor, but my son is NOT interested in that. I saw how he was completing the worksheets and watched the educational videos at first, and then he discovered the activities/games :) He enjoys them, they entertain him and TEACH him words, colors, sorting skills; he can do puzzles, decide what's bigger and smaller, complete sequences and so much more! It has been 6 months now, and I'm a dedicated subscriber, that's all I can say :)

As many other people I tried to sign up for a free trial and hoping it will be ease to cancel if I decide it’s not what I want, as it’s advertised , but - NO! You can’t! You can’t cancel it! There is no such option, I tried from all devices, every possible way- it’s just not possible, so, after first charge of $40 for something I didn’t use other than spent hours trying to figure out how to cancel it- I contacted them asking to cancel my account- never heard a word back, month go by , I checked and I still was able to log in and no one canceled my account, so now I got another charge of $40 and another few hours of my life trying to figure out how to stop this! I guess I’ll have to spend more hours trying to get my money back as this is unacceptable!

I downloaded it for my K-year daughter. She loved the beautiful design at first however was very frustrated with the sudden and random system crash. It happened frequently and every time she had to re-do the quest again. Plus we found the lessons and tests seem too easy for her. I’m not convinced she can really have good learning experience with it compared to some other learning apps she has been using. Finally I decided to not continue subscription on the 3rd day morning after downloading. It is still within the 72 hours of free trial, I got access to my phone on 7:15 am, and found that it was automatically renewed on 7:02am. I contacted the customer service immediately but haven’t got any reply. Very disappointed!

My son is in K5. We had a horrible time getting him motivated to do anything school work related until we discovered KidsAcademyLearningGames. He now not only loves KidsAcademyLearningGames , but he is beginning to read and loves school! He has excelled in math as well and can count way past 100! When we started he could only count to 20. He is even doing addition and subtraction now as well! He recognizes all of his alphabet, is learning sight words, and has started to be able to read by himself. If I could give it 10 stars I would!

I signed up thinking this would be good for my preschooler. After playing with it for two weeks I’m quite dissatisfied with it. It feels like a bunch of typical school worksheets that vaguely get graded. And even on a bigger iPhone 8+ it’s near impossible to circle things correctly or trace letters. This should be pushed towards iPad only and charge a third of the price. It also didn’t engage my child. He was smart enough to see it was just the same as the paper handouts he gets at school and lost interest quickly.

And like so many other reviews mention, I signed up for the free month trial and cannot find any way to cancel (and have now been charged). There is nothing in settings like they say and they don’t really respond to emails.

KidsAcademyLearningGames is so great - appreciated by parents for the fun way it helps to teach and reinforce with fun graphics. Our two year old grand daughter loves the interactive graphics as well and love playing the games. When we lost the audio on KidsAcademyLearningGames I reached out to the a Tiny Hands support folks and they responded quickly with advice that not only regained our audio on KidsAcademyLearningGames but helped me to "fix" a few other issues we were experiencing due to little fingers!!!! We all love these learning games! They make learning fun!!

My 5 year old just tried KidsAcademyLearningGames yesterday.. he was hooked. We started with the chess introduction video and it was an amazing animation that encouraged him to try the next couple videos.

He then asked me to try the math and the language arts section and enjoyed the worksheets. It's an excellent feature to scan the kids work and give a response.. made him do his work more accurately.

All in all, looks like a very quality app and we can wait to try more. My son will be starting K this year but is doing slightly advanced stuff .. I am happy there is an option to select the grade level in different sections.. so he might be a early beginner in chess but a grade 1 in English and math.. so it's better than other apps in that aspect!!!

As a parent, I hope KidsAcademyLearningGames manages to keep my child hooked and I don't have to find anything else for my kiddo!

I’m sorry to say but we hated KidsAcademyLearningGames. He lost interest before our trial even ended. I tried to cancel the last day of the trial but had already been charged for the subscription. That’s a complete waste of 20bucks as my kid never opened KidsAcademyLearningGames again. All he wanted to do was color, he does worksheets at school all day. In the single hour he’s allowed screen time a day he just wants to color but getting to that is seriously frustrating in KidsAcademyLearningGames. I also hated that there isn’t AI that actually notices what the kid is doing. He’d open a worksheet and without even doing anything it would say “you’re doing great!” My kid was confused and said “mom, I haven’t done anything.” He caught on quick that actually doing the sheet didn’t matter at all.

KidsAcademyLearningGames is not worth the cost. I looked over my son’s shoulder while he was doing the second grade phonics today and the majority of the “correct” answers are completely wrong. Which word has the same vowel sound as “long?” Bat, Tub, or Lace? The answer is none of the above. There were at least 3 other answers in the same section that were also wrong.

If you’re going to charge an expensive recurring monthly instead of a one-time up front fee, at least put some of the resources into QA to make sure the answers are right. Otherwise you’re wasting my time and money as well as my son’s time by just teaching him gibberish. Canceling this obviously.

KidsAcademyLearningGames itself is cute and seems to have a lot to offer. I particularly liked the short teacher led videos that brought concepts to life. However, past that the digital components of KidsAcademyLearningGames fell severely short. The games are minimal, and the one we could find was just picking a letter and watching a word come up... that isn’t even a game.

By far the worst component were the worksheets. The concept they were going for behind the image isn’t always clear (how is a bridge a ramp?) and we often had to re-try a check mark 4 or 5 times before the game recognized an answer. Finally, we gave up after trying and failing countless times to get past a worksheet on pulling.

Beyond that, the concept of cancellation is nowhere to be found. Obviously, we will contact the company, but after realizing this “free” app is 100% locked until you sign up for a disgustingly overpriced service, I’m not surprised they’re being intentionally difficult in this way.

I’m frankly blown away this is rated so highly. It’s nearly impossible to believe.

I’m admittedly one of those parents that prefers to limit my toddler’s “screen time.”
This has been a nice compromise as it is teaching my kids so much, they are having so much fun with it, and yet they are occupied without having to play video
games or watch TV. My daughter Aspen is obsessed with math and loves learning new things! And my daughter Addilyn loves to write and spell her name! My twins are learning so much and their preschool teachers as well as I, are so impressed with their growth! I owe it all to Kids Academy.

I have used the program just a little because I do not have the money to pay for it. I was able to use the worksheets for k. Thaw enjoyed them so much. We used the video activities for some students. The children I work with go to a charter school and do not have access to computers very often. I bring my iPad and let them use them. They like the interaction and are learning. My daughter is all about learning games currently. I've tried quite a few apps and this is so far her favorite. We have it downloaded on the ipad and she is always asking to play. Looking forward to when my son gets older to use it as well!

Update: My daughter is more interested in doing her homework and learning with KidsAcademyLearningGames then any other one we have downloaded. She loves doing the worksheets and going through all the segments. Thank you!
