Bookful: Kids’ Books & Games Reviews

Bookful is great for kids learning to read. It keeps their attention and makes reading fun. There are a few issues and features that could make Bookful a lot better
1 for some reason the narration tends to cut out and require restarting a book or Bookful randomly
2 it would be great to add a read with me type function that allows kids to read and tap on a word when they get stuck
3 overall Bookful is a bit choppy/clunky and would be nice if it ran a little smoother
4 more interaction with the stories. There are a few store sites that react when you touch the picture, it would be free at to add more of them

In theory Bookful would be a great app for kids and my daughter loves it when it actually works. It’s hard to even sign in on anything other than my iPhone because on any other device it won’t even let me type in my email, it keeps giving her level 4 books which are way too hard for her and it won’t let me change it to an easier level, it won’t even let her scroll through all the books and it drains my iPhone battery BAD. If they would fix these issues I’d give it 5 stars because she does enjoy it.

I submitted a review before. Due tj all of the problems we had with Bookful I was told you all would extend our subscription until January of 2022 however it still says October 2021 under our subscriptions. When I email you all all the last says is to submit another ticket?! Nogna Livne?? I need our subscription to reflect the extension you all said you would give without more multiple emails or contact?! Can you contact me directly please?! Your customer service needs much improvement!!!!

Our enjoyment of this beautiful app has been shattered. The book of genesis? Thomas and Friends and the fat controller? It’s clear nobody is paying attention to this content. If I had known there was religious content i would have NEVER bought this at a $60 price tag. I contacted Bookful but they are at no obligation to correct this. Just be warned you are buying Bookful without the benefit of a filter for the books. So disappointed and would not recommend this to anyone who is not Christian. I was shocked the creator of a children’s app had no care how uncomfortable this has made me and trapped in their app I am.

My kids are doing AR and have to read sooo many books to reach their 9 week goals. They used to get so annoyed when I would call them to read their books! NO MORE! And seeing each word light up helps them recognize the words so much easier. When they go back and read it themselves they don’t get frustrated. this app is a Life Saver.

this app is a good game for kids to listen to the books on this app and just be in a world of books and get information from the books they read and the only bad thing is that you have to pay to get all the book in this app. Other than that it is a magical place for kids.

I’m giving it a two stars because a could never actually use Bookful to its full potential due to the fact that the subscription prices are astronomical hight for a kids app! Keep that in mind before you download and waste your time! Not to mention the developers responses to all the negative feedback is pretty pathetic. What a terrible company. Seriously don’t give these idiots your hard earned money. They literally emailed me and tried to justify the cost of Bookful which didn’t make any sense at all. This is a company that does not care about children all they care about is the almighty dollar!!

We were not happy with Bookful at all. I have 2 boys, 5 and 6, who are beginning readers who love to read. Bookful kept freezing in different parts. We couldn’t even get a single book to read all the way through. They tried a “game” to spell words in the book they tried to read. They had to spell words from bus to excited. What 6 year old knows how to spell excited? The only part of the “park” that they did like was the coloring and painting, which is not what I got this for. I asked if they wanted to keep it and they both said NO. Far too many free apps that are much better!

There are three ways to purchase Bookful: monthly, annual, or forever subscription. They offer a “free trial,” but only if you select the annual subscription. But, when I attempted to cancel within the seven day trial, I found out that they billed me the first day. There was no trial. It’s a scam! Lassi. Bait and switch.

What’s worse, Bookful is terrible. My son hates it! You can’t adjust it to reflect reading level. Everything is crammed in one very busy library that small children find overwhelming. Don’t purchase it, don’t even “try it.” There is no such thing.

Wow, this book app for kids is amazing! My kids love how the book’s pictures pop out of the screen. It truly captures their attention and makes story reading and telling so much more fun! Thanks for making this and we hope to see even more books to come!

Super cool app! They definitely have something going here. On the flip side, they need to work on the technical side. There are a lot of glitches which gets pretty frustrating. I have to close out of Bookful and open it up again serval times each time I use it. Not to mention some books won’t work at all for me and I pay for this it’s not a free trial. The glitches really take away from how much potential Bookful has Please work on it!

I am a single 64 year old Episcopal priest and have no experience of children’s apps, but I have to say that this app is absolutely delightful. I could spend hours playing with it. I’m not a children’s educator but I have been a history professor at a couple of universities and the Greek myths seem to provide children with a very useful beginning in the Western canon.

While spending so much time at home - with the kids watching so much content online or playing with their phone, this is the BEST solution to keep them engaged in BOOKS. This way, they still get their screen time, while we as parents get them to read!

Children of all ages can use this app. My 16 month old grandson Ethan, 3 year old granddaughter Brooklynn and even my 6 month old Violet all enjoy this app. They can read stories, draw, take pics, play games at whatever level they’re at. I recommend Bookful to every mom and grandma I know. Best app ever!!!

🤔 my son loved Bookful so much that he is watching me even type this and is placing emojis on how he feels... 😁😁 he really likes the fact that the stories are so interactive and they are characters he already knows of. Thank you and he wants to show another emoji…👍🏼

this app is cool and amazing and I love it and you can read books and it doesn’t just have books it has other stuff. you can paint pictures of characters from the books and there’s a lot more and I hope everyone has fun!

The pictures are great I wish I can highlight the words as are being read. And we had experience some technical difficulties with Bookful , sometimes the screen skipped and makes weird noises. I hope in the future they can work on books in other languages too.

My kid is learning so much that he can read the longest books in like a whole day Bookful is amazing it cost money but I didn’t mind it took him an hour to read the shortest books but with Bookful he’s reading like a pro and he loves it so much

The graphics are very well done. I liked all the variety in the various books and games. The sections I thought were most educational were the ones where the reader had to identify things in the book. A good app for very young kids.

I’m very disappointed in how expensive Bookful is. Using this for a child is just ridiculous to charge that for a children’s app. There should be at least a few free books to try out before purchasing. I understand there’s a trial period but working in sales I know exactly what happens is people forget to cancel and then are hit with the charge. That’s crazy. $10-15/mont I’d pay. But not $60+! There are no free features on Bookful don’t waste your time

The AR animation concept is engaging and my daughter is keen to read more of these books, but the library is far too small to justify the $60 per year subscription, much less the $130 lifetime unlock. At the rate my kid reads, she’d be done with them all in a month or two. Library needs more books.

A few technical improvements to suggest: (1) insert longer pauses between page turns — sometimes the next page even interrupted and cut off the current one, (2) slow down the narration a bit, (3) highlight the words one by one in the captions below the book, to match the narration.

All that said, I see the potential for a 5-star app here, with a much expanded library! In the meantime we’ll probably subscribe just month-to-month.

I love Bookful and my kids are amazed by it, but having to buy the books will get expensive. The description says there are subscriptions but when I downloaded none were available only a book package. Would give a 5 star if they had the subscriptions but probably wouldn’t have downloaded if I had known that you have to buy each book. I recently downloaded to my ipad (6th generation) and it is very glitchy on the iPad but the iPhone version is awesome. Also, if you have multiple devices you cannot share purchases between devices.

This whole ordeal was a waste of time and the only reason I’m spending more time on Bookful is to warn other potential users to STAY AWAY!
Removed app about an hour after I installed it. I’ve got an iPhone X on iOS version 12.3.1. It took forever to get the library to function correctly to select a book and once I’d chosen one of the only two free ones, I never could even get it to display correctly nor would any of the games on the map open.
Loved the concept and was excited to have my child try it but no way I’m passing this headache on to him! I want to encourage his love of reading not turn that love into disdain with this crappy app!

My question is why won’t the books download on my child’s iPhone she has an iPhone 6s which is supposed to be compatible I downloaded it on my 7plus with no problems and signed up for lifetime this was all done yesterday and there library is still stuck not downloading is there anyway I can get a refund because evidently Bookful does not work for my child’s phone who needs it please respond

Bookful as I saw it I was so excited and wanted it to read to my grandkids. The animations look great in Bookful I read some of the reviews and a lot of them said that it was a waste of time and not to download it. But I took a chance and guess right all the negative reports was right. I’m so disappointed I’m going to delete it and recommend that no one should was their time with this. Not sure how they are saying that it got all those 5 stars rubbish they must had put fake reports to trick people into downloading Bookful and they want you too pay for something that you can even get to view it from the start.

My 4 yr old daughter loves the books and I enjoy watching her interact with the animations.
The downfall with Bookful is that I downloaded the purchases to my iPhone in the hopes of sharing them with my daughter, is there a way in which I can transfer the purchases to my daughters iPad?
That would be very, very helpful.

I’m disappointed in Bookful. I downloaded it to my iPad because it would not work on my son’s. The few times I let my son use Bookful on my iPad, it crashed. I spent roughly $20 on a book package. We got my son a new iPad that is compatible with Bookful now, but I can’t transfer the book bundle that I purchased on my iPad to his. So basically I feel as if I have been ripped off. And to top it all off, it wants a subscription rather buying book by book. When I first saw Bookful, I thought it looked like a great idea, but it’s not very user friendly in my opinion.

I downloaded this so as to work with my grandson who is just learning to read and finding out about books. But this has very little to do with either. Yes, the animations are great. And the narrators are very good. But the reading is displayed like lyrics and even though the words are on the page too the book is tilted so as to become a stage for the cartoon to be played out upon. It simply has no feel to it of reading a book. It’s a nice toy but not really an educational one.

The features of Bookful are great. Easy to use interface, varied content. It is not simply a tool to help you read books, it is an application that helps you educate your children and even entertain your children. All available in this application.

I think families with children should use this application. Children can not only read books but also increase their creativity when they are playing games as soon as they read and interact with vivid 3D images. What better thing than that? Vote 5 stars

The content of the book is very rich with many genres and for many different ages. 3D images have excellent quality, vivid sound. These games are also very interesting and suitable for children. I am completely satisfied with this application

A great application. Because of this application, everything becomes easier, it's like a library filled with animated animated English books in 3D and AR. both a game for young children and for reading educational books for young children

Before I knew it, I often bought books to read to my daughter but now I don't need to do that anymore. This application also has 3D / AR animation, many interesting entertainment stories but can educate young children many good things.

I see the price paid for this application is totally worthy of the results it gives users. Not only my daughter, but I also enjoy it every time I read books on this application. Highly recommend!

My kids love Bookful, it makes books come alive. Wonderful stories for all ages. Incredible augmented reality and games are well planned and executed. Looking forward to more new content and games in the near future
