Not intuitive wasted two rolls of tape already

I'm a reasonably smart person I assembled the tape loaded the software connected to the machine tried to print something and it won't print the whole label without pushing the off button quickly a couple of times to extend out the tape.

Slow, really slow.

BrotheriPrintLabel itself is fine, but for some reason I need to wait like 1 minute after clicking in anything. My iPad is the new version so not sure what’s happening.

Terrible UI

Trying to make simple, basic labels with centered text and a frame. Something my ancient P-Touch did trivially. But BrotheriPrintLabel makes it super difficult to size the frame, lets you drag the frame outside of the printable area so it gets cut off, doesn’t properly (visually) center text.

Then, when you print, it doesn’t produce a label that looks like what it showed on screen. The frame and text weren’t centered horizontally and needed to be trimmed with scissors. It’s ridiculously hard to use.

Can only print photos or in-app created things

So there’s no way to print shipping labels with the QL-1100nwb by Bluetooth. It only works with Wi-Fi. The reason is that the printer will only print things via Bluetooth from BrotheriPrintLabel and BrotheriPrintLabel has no way to add a pdf (like a shipping label) to the label. Not very useful at all.

I can’t get it to print properly

I followed instructions to eliminate a blank space to the left margin and no matter what I do, it doesn’t go away. On the verge of returning it. It needs better instructions. I went on the website to get a more information but it didn’t help.

Out Dated 1990’s Level Templates Wasted My Time

Really what I should have known that this old dinosaur Brother was unwilling to provide an up to date level App to make it easy to create labels on its Cube technology. I got it on sale saving $20 but it’s not worth the time consuming 1990s level software. I’ll just hand write what I need on labels.

Needs Text to QR Linked

I give only 1 star until these problems are fixed. All barcodes can have their content written in clear text as well as in barcode form except QR. Even if you have a template file that links the QR to text in a group BrotheriPrintLabel will say they’re still grouped but will not allow the data between the 2 stay linked. There should also be a way to make custom links and groups in BrotheriPrintLabel rather then copy a pre-made template and alter it the way it needs to be customized or by creating a template on the infuriating desktop software.

App crashes

I have used this for years and loved it..now it crashes every time!! Lost everything and after downloading a new app and deleting old still crashes! I Have good connection ..not the problem . All other apps work. Please fix this!!! I have a business. 😡

Program crashes immediately AFTER I Print.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled BrotheriPrintLabel on my iPad and it still crashes. To add insult to injury, I lost all my labels from doing this BROTHER recommended FIX. Is there a fix for this that actually works? I love my BROTHER label printer but unfortunately, I can’t use it effectively with BrotheriPrintLabel that doesn’t work. Can you help a BROTHER out?

Horrible Platform

Tedious printing is an understatement. This whole product line should be binned. Is asking to print more than one label a time too much, or asking the BT connection to stay live for more than a few minutes? One star is too many for this train wreck of a product line.

Trying to print label so I can put labels on things but they don’t have a sticky background

So far I’m not too happy with this product I just got it I put the paper in and it supposed to be in says white and it comes out clear with a black label has no stickiness to it

Good and simple, except the COVID baggage.

I like that BrotheriPrintLabel lets you get right into the label options and it's easy to navigate with the tabs on top, which leaves plenty of room to scroll through the label options.

However, why is there still a COVID category? It's time to move on. Get rid of the ridiculous "social distance" and "wear a mask" nonsense and relabel the category to something more appropriate. Good hygiene is universal and doesn't need to be wrapped up in a perpetual COVID narrative.

Other than that, BrotheriPrintLabel is simple and compliments my label maker well.

Buggy software

I own three brothers printers, including a LabelMaker, an expensive multifunction office machine with automatic document feed, as well as another laser printer.

All three of them are wonderful hardware devices with great features, excellent user interfaces, and beautiful printing results.

However, the software for all of these devices is incredibly buggy, unreliable, updated endlessly for several years over and over again, supposedly for bug fixes.

They are considerably less reliable now than ever. The most recent label printing software update, 5.3.8, is a especially bad. It made all of my previously saved labels totally disappear, dozens of labels I need to generate on a continuing basis.

It is incredible to me how poor the software reliability has become. Great products but truly poor software…

Too complex to use for printing labels

Clearly designed by an engineer to be used only by an engineer and not anyone else. Consistently the biggest problem with almost all of Brother products.

It’s Okay but leaves a lot to be desired.

I would like to see BrotheriPrintLabel improved with a number of things. For one, having the same menu of fonts that are on the D610BT as the ones that are in BrotheriPrintLabel . Another is having alignment tools when creating custom labels, let me enter in multiple text boxes, select them all, and then align them with a command. A third is having templates that aren’t cryptic with how to enter in numbers that repeat into multiple text boxes. I have no idea how to change some of the templates that are provided in BrotheriPrintLabel and I have an extensive background with graphic design software. A third is having more intuitive ways of applying a font style to a whole template rather than one text box at a time for a label. BrotheriPrintLabel is a good start but definitely needs a lot more help to make it amazing. For now it’s just crummy, painful software.

Be sure to use the iPhone app

I spent two hours trying to figure out the documentation for the P touch D 610BT. A waste of time, it’s so poorly done it’s incomprehensible: they focused on saving pages rather than being clear. By contrast, the iPhone app is easy to use and intuitive.

Please add support for PDF

Love BrotheriPrintLabel except for the fact I can import every type of file except PDF’s. Please add support for PDF import.

Buggy

Just trying to print basic labels. Changing the text and saving, sometimes it still then prints the old text. Wastes label tape…hmm?

Brother app okay, but not great

Works well once set up. UI a little cumbersome at times. App needs to find and reconnect to printer every time.

Designed by Robots

Oh my sweet Jesus GOOD LUCK trying to ever resize a text window. It takes literally ten tries to grab the stupid corner anchor that lets you RESIZE a text box (or whatever else) instead of dragging the entire box around - which it will do if you’re so much as ten microns off target. Definition of hostile UI. I hope you’re able to use your finger to select the two-freakin-pixel-radius area that activates the RESIZE instead of drag command.

I’m not joking that this one thing alone makes using this thing and creating different labels take about four times longer than it should. Its a constant hassle. It’s sufficiently stupid that I would sell my brother label printer in a heartbeat for an alternative that didn’t do this one thing.

Alas, brother label printers (and their awful software) are the worst - except for all the others. So I guess grin and bear it. Maybe in another, oh I don’t know, eight hundred friggin years the rest of the developed world will FINALLY click their brain cells together to create UIs for things like this that aren’t complete garbage. If we’re lucky.

Wifi

Once the printer links up with the wifi, Which i have to set up every time I use this printer, it works great.

Does not print in color on non brother paper.

Scan to text is great. Missing serialization

Better than manually typing on the printer.

Great App but can’t switch devices

I wish we can sign into account so our data is saved wherever we open BrotheriPrintLabel . Otherwise love itt

Fixed: ALL MY INSTALLED FONTS ARE GONE!

Update: after almost five days someone got back to me and said they’d have to call me to help me… this was after a 1.5 hour chat where they promised they understood my concern and could help… they couldn’t. Thank god they sent out a new update that seemed to fix whatever bug was there in the first place that blocked all my installed and third party fonts

Original review:
I use BrotheriPrintLabel on a daily basis! I installed fonts via iFont using different profiles and have NEVER HAD an issue! Now with this new update NOT A SINGLE INSTALLED FONT is showing up for use and EVERY SINGLE LABEL I HAVE MADE IS A MESS because it defaults to pre-installed max fonts! It would take me weeks to go back and fix everything! PLEASE PROVIDE AN UPDATE TO FIX THIS! ITS UNUSABLE TO ME WITHOUT IT!

Basic but works

BrotheriPrintLabel doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles. But it works just fine and is easy enough to get the job done once you learn it. Would be nice if the controls were a bit easier and more intuitive when moving things around.

Brother P-Touch

This little time saver is great for scrapbooking. My writing isn’t that great so journaling isn’t an option when I make scrapbooks and I do four a year for Grandkids that they can read the titles of the pictures clearly with these labels. I had a different one before I got the Cube and it auto-cut the tape. I wish this one did too negating the need for scissors and cutting straight.

Love this

I love using my phone so I can see what the print looks like .

Great Machine and App.

Top Notch

Absolutely love this printer! My only regret is that I didn’t buy it sooner. I use mostly with my iPhone and no hiccups! Would buy again

P-Touch cube

I love this products I’m like lil kid in a candy store

Works better with my P-Touch than my Macbook

For some reason this works flawlessly over bluetooth with my P-Touch D610PT while the MacOS app kept disconnecting from the printer. I also love that I could take the lbx file from my computer and copy it to BrotheriPrintLabel here. Brilliant!

App works like a charm

This is a very easy app to use and has a lot of options. I enjoy using it a lot in the future. Great app!

Works surprisingly well

To be fair I had very low expectations for software made by legacy printer companies, because I literally never had one working well before.

But to my surprise, BrotheriPrintLabel just works, I was able to connect to my label maker Brother D610BT at 1st try and everything worked great.

To be fair, the UI definitely could use a little polish and update, and the label template can be better organized, but those don’t really bother me at all.

Gosh Darned Perfection

What else can I say? BrotheriPrintLabel makes my whole world better and happier.

Better than these apps

For basic label printing, I prefer BrotheriPrintLabel.

For more creative templates and interesting designs, these two are better: Design&Print & iPrint & Label

If you have a brother

If you have a brother label printer this is the best thing! I’m always making quick fun coupons on the fly and printing them out

Nice app. I am using it for years

Nice app. I am using it for years

P-Touch Label Maker

I just got it. No problem connecting or learning to use it. I hate reading instructions so I didn’t. It was easy to figure out. I printed from my phone within 10 minutes. This is great.
