My biggest gripe with BrotherPtouchDesignPrint has been that you have to search for your device and sync it every single time you want to use it! Every single other device and app I have, it’s a one time sync, and it’s automatically remembered... not with this! (HUGE DESIGN FLAW!) So, if you think this would be handy for a quick label, think again... Such a pain to go through all of the steps, it’s hardly worth it...

Knowing that, and having waited until I have several labels to do at once, now my bigger gripe is that I CAN’T ACCESS SAVED LABELS TO EITHER EDIT OR PRINT. No matter how many times I tap on one of my saved labels, I can no longer access it. It used to annoy me when I’d have to tap on a label a half dozen times in order to access it, but now I can’t access any at all! This happens on both my iPhone and my iPad, so it is clearly an issue with BrotherPtouchDesignPrint .... so incredibly frustrating and time consuming. If you’re considering purchasing the Brother P-Touch Smartphone Dedicated Bluetooth Label Maker, do yourself a favor and just flush a $50 bill down the toilet and avoid the aggravation.

I purchased the P Touch Cube earlier today and was so eager to begin labeling and getting things organized in my kitchen. I’ve been using the program for approximately 45 minutes and have already discovered two functions that don’t work properly that are demonstrated on the online tutorial. The current version of BrotherPtouchDesignPrint software does not allow you to turn off the tape feed when chain printing as is indicated in the tutorial this means a LOT of tape is being wasted. Secondly, when I attempt to create my own label BrotherPtouchDesignPrint closes entirely when I attempt to change the label width from .97” (which the Cube can’t print) to something else. This means that you can not customize a label with the Cube since it can’t print that width. It seems to me that since BrotherPtouchDesignPrint knows that I am using a Cube it shouldn’t offer the option to create a custom label if that’s a limitation of the label maker. Because BrotherPtouchDesignPrint is so bad, I have no other choice than to return the Cube, I am so disappointed.

Works pretty well and has some nice features but it does not work on an iPad in any way that matters to me. The point was that I could use my iPad keyboard but as it does not even show horizontal or even vertical full screen this makes it impossible. BrotherPtouchDesignPrint should not claim to be an iPad app if it does not really work that way. If it just said iPhone only then I would have been more happy. They should make the p-touch be able to connect with a Mac, iPad and iPhone. Seems like it would not be too hard to set up that kind of application. Considering the really high price of $99 for this label maker I am a bit disappointed with the product. Improvement over the ancient label makers but should be better with todays technology.

The Brother P-Touch app was crashing on open. I also had issues with Apple Pay not allowing me to add any payment methods. The fix for the latter was to go to Settings and setting the location to United States (even if the device is already set to US, you will need to select it again and it will save and correct issues with apps that need your location settings to operate.)

Apparently BrotherPtouchDesignPrint also relies on having the locale set correctly and will crash if it can not detect it because now BrotherPtouchDesignPrint is working again!

BrotherPtouchDesignPrint is a good app. The only problems are that I have to feed the tape and cut the label each label. The next problem is that the size doesn’t change. The next problem is that there is only Bold and italic, and most label makers have about 9. The next problem is that some fonts have bad print quality. There is endless features. There is 2 ways to connect to Bluetooth: on settings or on BrotherPtouchDesignPrint . The Bluetooth is very easy. It takes like seconds to connect. It says it takes a few minutes, but it actually takes seconds. You can choose from about 100 fonts, hundreds of symbols, and tens of frames.

I had a problem connecting the label maker to my iPhone. I tried everything, including searching the internet for trouble shooting solutions. I called Brother (the company that made the label maker and developed BrotherPtouchDesignPrint ) and setup an appointment for them to call me and help. I was called within the time frame and within 5 minutes I was connected and printing labels. It was as simple as clicking on the label maker name in the Bluetooth setting as it was searching. Other than me feeling a little foolish, the entire customer service was A+.

I need this to make 6mm tape symbols and pretty much the only symbols that are clear at this size are the ones that come with BrotherPtouchDesignPrint (high resolution or not). So until that is resolved, please add more symbols...specifically home symbols (cleaning, appliances, scale etc.). And despite the options selected, I am getting the 1 inch of lead tape every time. Before I started deleting the previously printed tape, it used to print the last print job before printing the current job. It’s so wasteful. Not sure if that is BrotherPtouchDesignPrint or the device. And what’s with the ability to only add 1 image? Please increase this number to 3+ like the symbols. And lastly, I co-sign on my hatred of having to sync my Bluetooth to BrotherPtouchDesignPrint every single time I use it. Please improve all this!

Will work in landscape on an iPad once you get past the home screen. Be warned, if you have an external keyboard BrotherPtouchDesignPrint won’t work, you need to disconnect the keyboard to be able to use. Would get a higher ranking if this was fixed. Brother that is a big miss on your part.

I am loving my new label maker. After searching for something simple to help my organizing look neat and tidy I came upon the device with BrotherPtouchDesignPrint and it has been amazing! They have made improvements since I got BrotherPtouchDesignPrint so it is running very smooth and is easy to edit. Pretty user friendly once you play around with things. Overall I am very happy and the labels look great and print fast! Plenty of options for fonts but not too overwhelming either.

BrotherPtouchDesignPrint has the professionalism of a High school class project. It’s a complete mess with the most basic settings such as length of the label, artwork and borders unable to be changed unless you dig through a 1990s clip art style library of “cute” presets to find the particular style and features that you’re looking for.
If you read other reviews, this dumpster fire has had huge issues with forgetting the label device and having to re-sync every time you use it, and spitting out wastes inches of tape for TWO YEARS and the developers still haven’t fixed it.
Try BrotherPtouchDesignPrint before you buy any of the expensive Cube products and save yourself the misery and waste of money.

I personally think this is much convenient than non wireless BUT the only little advice I like to suggest is the FONT part is a bit confusing because it allows 24” or up but when you actually select a font it goes down to 12 and etc! Hopefully it can’t get fixed but other than that I absolutely love this item ☺️

Had I known BrotherPtouchDesignPrint was so terrible, I would not have purchased the Cube Plus. Using BrotherPtouchDesignPrint for more than 5 minutes will almost definitely lead to a crash at some point. BrotherPtouchDesignPrint is simple to use, but it is slow/laggy, has a bad layout, and is very limited in functionality. While the Cube is great hardware, I will avoid future Brother products which rely on software made by them.

Like it’s companion app for theP-touch Cube, this too is poor software. As I said in my other review “It is incredible how poor this software is. It is difficult to use and lacks the ability to configure it to utilize the hardware to its full potential. The company has apparently chosen to ignore all of the reviews thus far. Had I known of this weakness before, I would never have purchased this product.”

It annoys me that I have to synch with the device every time I use it. And there should be an option to download more clip art. But it’s a very user friendly app... simple to use... and the printer is great and you can save all your labels for printing later. It’s a winner at the end of the day.

BrotherPtouchDesignPrint is the worst ever. If you’re designing a straightforward, simple label it works well (I think). I’m trying to design a vertical label with two fields and trying to edit it is agonizing. I have not even tried to print yet because I can’t even finish the layout. BrotherPtouchDesignPrint needs to work well since it is how you actually input and edit the design and print from. Fix this please.
