I am in the US and can’t log in since the new update. It tells me to register my device but when I get the pin sent to my mobile it doesn’t come through so I can’t register the phone and the phone it seems is now required to be able to log in via web browser. Whoever approved this new release should be sacked. Now I have to phone internationally to try to get this mess resolved. Very narrow minded to think that only people located in the UK or ROI are the only ones with BOI accounts. This needs to get fixed ASAP.

Since BOI app has been updated, I am UNABLE to use it on my iPhone 13 mini. I followed all troubleshooting actions to fix the issue, but unsuccessfully! Is there a way to overcome BankofIreland if we need to purchase something online? Thanks!

Tried to use functionality to do normal online banking but have to wait for a letter in the post. Offline banking from 1920 not 2020!!

It continuous not adapted to iPhone X, months later. Besides that, BankofIreland is very poor in functions, is slow and has a terrible layout.

Unreliable app for approving purchases. Frequently fails- no logic to when it works or fails!
BOI app and 365 still a decade behind in its functionality!

This is hands down the worst banking app I have ever had (out of 10+).

They clearly need to allocate more funds into the development. Super unreliable.

Guys please make a new app, even An Post have a better app… A bank like bank of Ireland should have at least a acceptable app… look the rate of BankofIreland … at least let me login with Face ID

BankofIreland keeps on throwing me out even though I put in the correct pin — and then blocking my account. I haven’t been able to access my account for 5 days now. Even after re-installing BankofIreland .

I simply don't get the notifications when I try to verify an online purchase with my card. It got to the point that I'm using another bank for everyday expenses as BankofIreland is useless.

Can’t leave zero stars ! Keeps crashing or freezing.

I’d leave zero stars if could. Impossible to register a device, and then can’t login in online because it has to send a notification to said device. I’m in the US, my phone number hasn’t changed, deleted and reinstalled BankofIreland , and now I can’t re-register! If the developers are trying to send people to the loony bin, then congratulations, mission accomplished. WORST APP EVER!!

BankofIreland, along with the BoI scheme for getting an account and a debit card registered online is the most complex and faulty system I have experienced. It has taken many phone calls to try to accomplish this and it still isn't working. With all the tech talent in Ireland, you would think someone could improve this. Unbelievably frustrating!

No Face ID working. Takes 20 clicks and two passwords to just send money. Doesn’t work on WiFi , only 5g . Put in Face ID to remove need for passwords. Make it simpler in less clicks to do things . Make it more stable. So many times it doesn’t work

Edit: was told to reach out to support about this review. Judging by all then bad reviews why don’t you just fix the issues. Hard to believe this is a bank in 2024

Breathtakingly terrible app. Locks you out regularly even when you’ve the right login info, the PIN reset takes forever (at international calling rates, I’m in the US) then it locks you out again when it mistakes its own stallouts for failed login attempts. Can’t circumvent it via web browser on a laptop, because it insists on using 2FA with the same phone app it locks you out of. Hasn’t got any better in years.

You sent me a note saying to contact you via Twitter or Facebook to discuss my problem. I am not on either system and won’t be. Every time I download BankofIreland it says it cannot access the Internet. yours is the only app that has this problem constantly. On my PC it needs to access my cell phone. Obviously, I cannot access your app on my cell phone so it’s a double whammy.
I am based in the states. I see other USA users have similar problems.

Very poor experience with BankofIreland. Firstly the login experience is dreadful. It is slow and error prone. Secondly, the payments/money transfer section of the application is extremely limited. If you pay/transfer money there is no way to see payment of past/recent payments until they are completed or in a pending state, I would have expected to see a list of outgoing payments in the Payments section. It’s a frustrating user experience and needs improvement.

BankofIreland is hopeless in verifying card purchases. I have tried over 10 times and it just freezes. It is perplexing to me that with Internet banks and banking bleeding customers from their market share, that senior management does not lavish their Internet banking with resources to counteract the onslaught. SENIOR MANAGEMENT SHOULD BE FIRED FOR INVOMPETENCE.

This review is more directed at Bank of Ireland’s in general online/mobile banking practices rather than BankofIreland itself.
BankofIreland performs fine.
The issue, is just how enforced we are to utilize this mobile app to go about our finances.
I make an online purchase, one that even requires me putting information only I should know such as the CVC or the phone number or email registered,
I still sometimes MUST approve it from the mobile app.
Being in scenarios where I had to redownload BankofIreland traveling abroad and needing to register a new phone on the, I had no means of receiving a text to revive the code to verify. (Alternative Bank of Ireland… maybe an include an EMAIL as an alternative means of receiving the code?????).
It is so tedious. No other Bank i’ve used has ever made the mobile app as absolutely necessary to go about making online purchases.
Please make some changes (even adding in email authentication verification as a possible means besides text message)

4 stars and could be a 5 if added feature of depositing cheques or easier funding this account. As set up it only allows me to see my balance and pay people. I really need to fund the account to pay fees and people. I like the ease and security of BankofIreland .

Long overdue, this new update introduces Apple Pay and credit card management! Keep up the good work!
