Secret Photo Vault - Keepsafe Reviews

I don’t usually write reviews. But when my files have not backed up to the cloud in more than 2 years! (won’t share between platforms) there is something wrong. I can set my phone to lock never, leave the program open the entire night and it will still say 32 files uploading in the morning, or worse, the program will have crashed in the night and be back to my home screen. It also crashes a lot when trying to view a video, more often than not, and happens on two of my devices, so it’s not just a bad copy, it must be the program. You can’t blow up pics and zoom in like on apple photos, basic functionality like that is behind the times. I wrote to customer service, they wrote back, but when I asked if they would have access to the files in my account in order to help - no response. I bought the one time lifetime membership, so am now stuck. What crap - it now has filled my iPhone and I can’t erase SecretPhotoVault without fear of losing all my content. Why doesn’t my iPad have my iPhone files and viva versa? The settings are set to backup to the cloud. What a load of crap. It’s time to tell the world how bad this is - I began writing this last year and just now noticed it was never submitted. I’m beside myself that I fell for this and blame the article that rated these apps a few years ago - do you research and learn which outfits actually work, do what they claim, and have real customer service.

I downloaded SecretPhotoVault because i have a lot of videos and no where to put them. i downloaded it at some point in december 2020 and from the start it was super glitchy. it would shut down randomly and it would cause every single app on my phone to shut down as well. some of my videos were fairly long and when i would try to upload it would take me a few tries. DO NOT GET SecretPhotoVault. i have snap and the last few days whenever i would open keep safe and then open snap, snap would give me the terms agreement from october of 2019. i’m not sure if everyone got it but no one i know has had that issue whcih leads me to believe it was because of keep safe. SecretPhotoVault overall is very very glitchy and will cause your phone to move super slow. i didn’t want to deal with it anymore since it took up so much of my iphone storage so i went through to save all of my photos back to my camera roll. i had to restart my phone about five times, close SecretPhotoVault about 20 times, and re-save videos about 2-4 times. every few photos it would say that they failed to save to camera roll which is why i would have to completely close everything and restart my device. i’ve read that other people have had issues with SecretPhotoVault being glitchy as well. if you need some where to save your videos and photos please do not get SecretPhotoVault.

SecretPhotoVault is great for storage! You have the option to choose a custom color scheme for the display theme and choose between grid or mosaic display for media files in your albums. SecretPhotoVault is compatible with photos, gif files, and videos. And the options to save photos/videos to your phone, move a file to a different album inside SecretPhotoVault , and select an image as the album cover(s) are all wonderful features. And the option is given to delete files from your phone’s photo library once imported to help clean things up. The downfall, though, happens when uploading a video. Videos take a century and half to import. Understandably, they are larger files (especially when considering length of time) but it should take eight hours or longer to load. Importing videos seem to freeze SecretPhotoVault . While you can still navigate in it, you cannot import anything for hours and hours when importing a video (even if it is ~20 sec) because the... well, I actually know WHAT it is but it’s inconvenient. All I can say is that SecretPhotoVault is great. Except for this one critical piece that it claims to support.

A couple other things: 1) It would be nice to be able to crest an album within an album. 2) It’s a bummer that the timer lock screen is no longer available. And even when it was, there wasn’t a slick way to discreetly add the feature to use Touch ID when using that lock.

SecretPhotoVault is great it lets you save a bunch of stuff, has a bunch of features like taking a picture of break in attempts, fake pin, fake albums, lets you personalize it as you wish, pretty sure it has a big storage. The only huge problem I have with it and that’s making me unsubscribe my premium subscription is that it takes extremely long to import big files like videos. And when I say extremely long i don’t mean an hour or 4. I mean days and weeks. I could try to import videos and they would never import. After weeks of trying. SecretPhotoVault backs up automatically which is great but what’s the point of it if big files for some reason never get backed up. I’ve had this large videos in SecretPhotoVault for months and they never finish being backed up. I’m not sure what the problem is but it’s really annoying. I purposely bought the premium subscription to be able to have a lot of storage and not have problems like this. But for sure it was a waste of money since it’s such a problem to import stuff and get them backed up.
Other than that like I said SecretPhotoVault has some great features just for sure don’t download it if you’re looking to save large videos

I have used keepsafe for 4+ years and never had any issues. I always thought it was a great app and have recommended it to other people for secure photo storage. But recently it has become unusable. It is extremely slow, is constantly syncing even though I have cloud backup turned OFF and constantly crashes out of SecretPhotoVault . It is also suddenly taking up a HUGE* amount of space, to the point where my phone is full and other apps are unable to function. Trying to delete content only makes things worse. Usage has actually GROWN by 7GB after trying to clear space. I'm not the only person reporting the syncing and crashing issues. PLEASE help to fix this.

* 17GB of content in keepsafe was consuming 85GB of space on my phone.

UPDATE: After clearing space on my phone by dumping pics and music I was able to move all of my content out of keepsafe, uninstall and start again. Huge inconvenience but the issues seem to be resolved with the fresh install. No more syncing or crashing and SecretPhotoVault is not consuming excessive space.

SecretPhotoVault has come a very long way since it’s release, and the developers seem to be serious about making a quality app. However there is no way to sync images between devices. You can pay for the premium version of SecretPhotoVault , but it still doesn’t have this feature. It allows for a honestly quite small amount of cloud storage, but if you’re like me and have thousands of photos it’s not a viable option. You also can’t upgrade your cloud storage. I pay for a large amount of ICloud storage but the files in SecretPhotoVault don’t backup to ICloud. There should be some way to sync files between 2 devices that are right next to one another, or a way to get the files on SecretPhotoVault to sync to ICloud instead of their cloud. If they want to put that feature behind the premium paywall that’s fine. I’m not a developer so I don’t know what, if any, limitations there would be to including a feature like this. All and all I love the design and accessibility of SecretPhotoVault, but I may have to cancel my premium sub, and go with something that has a feature that allows sync or cloud that I can upgrade.

The reality is that our phones are mobile intrusion devices into our lives which governments, thieves and nefarious hackers can use to steal our most private thoughts and data. Hence, I’m privacy-obsessed in regard to my phone. KeepSafe has been part of my protective arsenal for a few years now.
KeepSafe does a wonderful job encrypting snapshots of my unlock, Recovery and two-Factor codes; as well as drivers license, social security and other pictures and videos that would be very harmful if they got in the open.
AES-256 encryption is the gold standard. You should NEVER settle for less. And that’s KeepSafe’s standard.
Combine it with a VPN which never records logs - which they also make - and you’ve made it very difficult for intrusive others. Not impenetrable, as nothing is, but the encrypted data that someone can steal will at least be gibberish, indecipherable.

SecretPhotoVault is absolutely trash. It hasn’t worked right for a while now. It seems to get worse with every apple update. It won’t import photos correctly. I have to close SecretPhotoVault numerous times before it will finally import then it doesn’t ask do I want to delete the photos from from my phone afterwards. It also has imported photos to the wrong place when I’ve imported to a specific album. Now it keeps importing every single photo I have on my phone to the main album when I attempted to import only certain photos to a different album. I tried deleting the album I created but now it keeps importing to the main album and it won’t stop. Every time I delete the photos (like over a thousand photos) from the main album and try to import selected photos to the right album SecretPhotoVault , it just keeps importing EVERY SINGLE PHOTO FROM MY PHONE TO THE MAIN ALBUM! I even tried closing SecretPhotoVault or cutting the phone off to stop it but once SecretPhotoVault is re-launched, it justs picks up where it left off. I’m not going to continue to keep paying for SecretPhotoVault. I’ll find some other app to use.

I would have definitely gave five stars if not for one issue I have, and it’s a pretty big issue. SecretPhotoVault is awesome and well worth the premium for it’s easy to use, fast and convenient(depending on your WiFi and size)transferring, delete option, and lots of other stuff I haven’t even used yet. The loss of the two stars is due to SecretPhotoVault crashing. For the most part I never transfer on data, mainly WiFi and as I explain earlier everything works great. Transferring is actually easy….BUT….. after a few minutes of transferring both photos and video it tends to crash and stop working. Everything is saved so that’s great but it acts almost like a fuel engine…..like I need to let it cool down or something and that can be very frustrating when I find myself flowing nice and easy. If that can be fix and not happen to me at anytime I’ll add the two stars and be more than happy to have paid for it!!

I’ve been using SecretPhotoVault for years now, paying for premium, not typically running into too many problems, but the little things started to add up and I’ve decided that Dropbox will suit my needs better. So, I’m in the process of moving my photos - which has been nothing short of a chore.

CONS: 1. For a lot of photos, after clicking on ‘export’, I get this error message;

Error
Error exporting one or more files: Could not download one or more files.

I would like access to my photos, please. They’re mine, I copyright them, please give me back that access.

2. While I was paying for premium, after changing the theme, it never stayed that way. Even after updating, SecretPhotoVault would crash it and revert back to the standard theme. Years this went on. I just couldn’t validate complaining about something so minute.

3. I’ve succumbed to moving the photos I DO have access to, to my camera roll, and THEN to my Dropbox. Why? Because KeepSafe only allows one photo to be transferred AT A TIME (between apps; keepsafe to Dropbox). I’m not spending the rest of my life exporting my photos from one app to another. C’mon.

4. Trying to share albums is a pain in the a**!! At least Dropbox is consistent.

PROS: Can now use Face ID to unlock app (yay!!). Good price for storage. Has potential. I like that it gives the user the ability to change the album covers, lock certain albums...

Ive had SecretPhotoVault for about 4-5 years. It does what it’s supposed to do but every year there’s always a new problem going on w SecretPhotoVault . But this years is by far the worst.(EX) I download SecretPhotoVault taking up 50mb but with 15gb worth of media in SecretPhotoVault . And I can open SecretPhotoVault and add more stuff without the my old media in SecretPhotoVault taking over space. Now I when I download it it automatically starts rising from 50mb to 15gb as soon as I open SecretPhotoVault . The point of SecretPhotoVault is to save space on your phone (and it did USED to do that) but now SecretPhotoVault includes the whole gb it’s got inside already which means it makes it difficult to save media because ur iPhone now has 15gb taking over space from your app. I tried not to make this confusing and I hope everyone understood this.

I have been using SecretPhotoVault for well over 2 years now to store some of my precious photos, SecretPhotoVault is great even if you don’t invest money into it but theirs just one major issue, whenever I want to upload a gif or photo they always seem to be very small when I import them from my camera roll and it really annoys me. I double tap it or just zoom in more but it’s no use I always have to crop out the photo and sometimes it just makes it worse and with a gif it’s even harder because it’s all zoomed out and even if I zoom in to its max it’s still not as big as my screen... as it’s supposed to be. This issue has been here for ever and I just keep getting more annoyed so I decided to write this review so please fix this it’s one of its biggest app issues and I’m surprised they haven’t fixed it but overall great app for storing pics and videos just this one problem.

Can you please give me all of my private photos that KeepSafe is not letting me access ... I have been using the free version of SecretPhotoVault since 2015. many of the pictures where deleted and before I delete SecretPhotoVault I would like the photos back. Truly hope that one day someone has enough time to file lawsuit against keepsafe inc. for these new, unfair updates.. American owned corporations are money hungry for pandemic dollars and it is absurd.

I don’t like SecretPhotoVault because photos can not simply be uploaded in a way where I never have to worry about looking back to see if the developer is doing sketchy stuff to get you to pay for free version. Photobucket , google photos , Shutterfly, etc don’t delete your photos if you forget to backup or if you log on from a new device... never have to worry about them being gone forever and for that I truly hate SecretPhotoVault... y’all had one job. save private photos. Not save private photos and then demand that I back them up periodically.... app is a joke

From a user interface side, it has good security. Not sure how security is handled in the background. I don’t like the fact that KeepSafe does have the ability to see your content. It’s stated in there privacy statement. They state they only do it with a users consent but it be much better if it was truly encrypted. I understand if it was they could not help if some issue with a specific photo or album arose but I’d rather lose a whole album for the extra privacy. Maybe at least offer an option of no return. Also one thing that may be a deal break is, as others said, if you try to back up a large video or just a high quality video, SecretPhotoVault , IF it even backs it up, takes forever. Like hours or days. Eventually Probably just freeze. And I have 500 Mbps upload speed. Once they fix that and hopefully make it more private, it will be a great app.

I’ve had SecretPhotoVault for a while now and had videos saved that I’ve since deleted from my camera roll. I opened it up today and now it’s trying to make me subscribe to something. If i choose not to it tells me I’m switching to the basic plan. So I select the basic plan. I’ve never even had a plan. Then it says I have to download my videos when I thought they were kept on my phone in a safe place. Then I get an error message that says there isn’t an internet connection. I have full bars and am online right now writing this review. So then SecretPhotoVault crashes and when I open again, it goes through the same process of trying to make me subscribe to something. Now I feel I just want to take my videos out of here, but I have to subscribe to do it. Smh.

Side note, I was always upset from the beginning that I couldn’t even scrub through my videos like a normal video player. I had to watch them from start to end. Smh. What it’s this 1991 or 2021?

Very disappointing

Don’t even waste your time with SecretPhotoVault. I’ve recently just had my final straw with it. I’ve had SecretPhotoVault for years, and I’ve always had problems with it but chose to ignore them. Such as videos take so long to load when on and off WiFi it should be instantaneous but it’s not. My biggest problem is that SecretPhotoVault basically slaps u in the fave and says buy premium or else. Like many I was conned into buying premium after my free trail. I purchased it for a year, that year is now up and I’m trying to downgrade to basic but SecretPhotoVault keeps trying to tell me I don’t have 7.44 gb on my phone. (200gb iPhone 11 btw) I have plenty of space but SecretPhotoVault just wants me to buy premium again and I’m not here for it. I can’t even access my photos because of this dumb pay wall. Why not just automatically downgrade to basic when it’s over why is there a pay wall??? You app developers are all scammers, people don’t waste your time on SecretPhotoVault there are better ones with less problems.

This is the best replacement app I have found for keeping sensitive personal photos and videos since my other app became defunct and unavailable. Still needs a lot of work such as naming individual files, option to keep some files locally and others on the cloud and the ability to import large amount of files from a computer such as by using the iTunes data import to get it into your iPhone/iPad. Right now I’m keeping part of my library on another app that I want to keep local, and keeping the rest that I want available on both the phone and the tablet (via iCloud sync) in KeepSafe app. I’m hoping they will keep developing until it becomes more fully featured but for now this is definitely the best there is in SecretPhotoVault Store that I know of.

I’ve been using SecretPhotoVault for a little while now and recently decided to purchase premium but SecretPhotoVault itself is missing some essential features for an app of this nature.

- Better organization of photos in albums
- *Better import options such as being able to select a specific album to choose photos from
- **THE ABILITY TO SKIM THROUGH VIDEOS AND SKIP TO CERTAIN PARTS (honestly I do not know how this isn’t in SecretPhotoVault and it’s honestly embarrassing that you can’t currently do this)
- *Ability to set the application to switch to a specific app by placing your phone face down
- Possibly change SecretPhotoVault icon and name to something less conspicuous if you so choose
- *Even though it says you can change SecretPhotoVault theme there is literally zero options to change the theme from within SecretPhotoVault
- *Option to type a pin in instead of a password for specific password protected albums
- *Option to leave the album unlocked for x amount of time after typing password in so you don’t have to keep typing jt in if you accidentally leave to album

Until the essential things in the list above (items marked with * or **) get fixed/added SecretPhotoVault will not receive anything higher than 3 stars. It has the potential to be amazing but is just missing some absolutely essential features.

I’ve used SecretPhotoVault for a long time now, and have been a premium member for what feels like a year. However most recently I’ve found I can no longer upload anything to any of my albums. I checked my space thinking I had finally used up all 5,000 spaces, but I’ve found I’m only just under half that, and have plenty of storage on my phone itself as well. When I press the plus, and select “import”, I can select pictures and videos I want saved in the vault, but when I press the button to activate the upload, nothing will happen. The photo album closes but nothing gets uploaded. I’m hoping it can be fixed with a simple update, I’m not wanting to have to find another app for this, I love this one.

SecretPhotoVault use to be great; It did what it was intended to do.. keep certain files private. But then they went and added this “Shared” album crap. If I wanted to share the kind of files I’m using SecretPhotoVault to hide, then I would just upload them to Google Photos or something. Also you can’t “copy” a file from one album into a “new” without it creating that album as a shared one... I DO NOT WANT to SHARE files so stop trying to force the crap feature onto paying users. And why cant I copy files to “non-shared” albums? I like to make a copy to a non-shared album so I can edit it, and keep the original where it is. And you can’t “delete” shared albums, also if you try to leave the album (being the owner) it locks SecretPhotoVault up. They should have left SecretPhotoVault along, and added the “share” option to another separate one, or make a option to turn off all share features.

Again, SecretPhotoVault was great now it’s just crap.

SecretPhotoVault has been very easy for me to use so far, which is a good thing! I sometimes have difficulties with some of the apps I download, either because they turn out to be unnecessarily complicated, are designed for use by programmers who like it complicated and consider it a game to figure out, or are “buggy”.
SecretPhotoVault has been an unexpectedly easy to use, stable, and stress relieving feature for a “getting slightly older” person who prefers to think about ways to relieve his arthritis than how to use an app to help make his life a little easier. I am very happy to have discovered it, found it very helpful, and recommend anyone looking for an app for this purpose to give this a try!

Be warned: DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THEIR SERVICES!!! They scam you into buying a full year subscription instead of a monthly one which you originally think you signed up for. But then you get a receipt for a full year payment!!!!! They think it’s alright to trick you into a full year fee through their monthly services. I am very confused how this is at all acceptable! I didn’t use the subscription for more than 15 minutes, so I contacted their customer services to ask for a refund, yet they were vulgar, and unhelpful in all aspects. All they think about is money and they don’t care whether or not you are happy with what you get. From the bottom of my heart, DO NOT BUY INTO SecretPhotoVault! They will scam you and not help you. They will scrape any extra dollar and not care for their reputation. Is this what you want to buy into? I bet you don’t want that! So leave SecretPhotoVault behind and move on to something better, because all you will find here are dollar craving, customer abusing and power thirsty thieves.

The software lags I have two phones and the video and photos that I have saved on one phone will not transfer over to the other phone that I have keeps saying is saved on. Both phones have keep safe on it however keep safe does not function the way it supposed to. I don’t know what they do every day but it is not business. This is a software that has a lot of potential however it lags when it comes to loading and transferring files to upload to the keep safe cloud. For file transfers. I believe that it’s very possible that the software that keep safe is using is very slow and I are their servers. Causing the lagging In the uploads. Also 5000 photos is very middle I was once introduced to them and offered 100,000. However they were unable to make it stick on my account. As I stated before the potential is there but the software they are using is very outdated

SecretPhotoVault works okay but every time you open it they ask you to upgrade to their premium service. Usually, at the bottom of the screen, in very small print, you can click “no thanks”. Recently I opened SecretPhotoVault and the small print was NOT there and I couldn’t get to my content and I could not get out of the screen. Some how I purchased the premium lifetime subscription by accident. I immediately contacted them and asked to cancel it and process a refund. They replied immediately and advised me no, they won’t process the refund. They advised there is a 3 step confirmation before a purchase is made. I did NOT receive 3 steps to confirm a $149 purchase. I contacted them again and heard back a few days later. It was the same response from the same person. Their replies are scripted responses sent to all customers and have not attempted to address my concern.
If you use the basic app beware, they will trick you into purchasing their premium service.

I’m a “premium” member, have been for a few years, and SecretPhotoVault has totally gone down hill in the past year. SecretPhotoVault used to be fantastic for photo and video storage, a great UI and super responsive. I could get my photos to sync across my devices and they even offered a Mac app. One day the Mac app disappeared from SecretPhotoVault Store, and they stopped updating it. It became very buggy very fast.

Then I upgraded to an iPhone X. Now, with iOS 11, SecretPhotoVault is constantly locking up my phone, forcing a hard reset. On top of that, if I add photos and then delete SecretPhotoVault and redownload it, even days after the photos are supposedly uploaded to the “private cloud” the photos are gone. Not synced to my iPad or other devices, just gone. I’ve contacted the support team about this and their only solution was to delete and reinstall, which obviously doesn’t work. Very disappointed in an app that used to be worth paying the yearly fee for.

When I first got keep safe it was a great. App. Now it’s all about The money I guess?!? If we don’t want to pay please just give us our photos we trusted you with and let us stop using SecretPhotoVault and we’ll walk away from each other happy?! For you to threaten or to actually destroy Photos of mine that mean a lot to me and others. Without any other means to recover private images which belong to me is not only wrong, it’s actually terribly unethical in ANY industry!! Even in warfare, we’ve evolved as a specie so much we allow the enemy to respectfully collect and conduct religious rights for their fallen. How can you treat your customer’s property like this?!?.... if you just destroy my photos; you’ll be viewed as nothing more than simple greedy DATA PIRATES AND EXTORTIONISTS!!! A compromise will absolutely be cause for a re-evaluation of SecretPhotoVault and service by myself and possibly result in a NEW friendship between us!!! Whattya say, Old Friends?!!😬🤷🏼‍♂️.....

da best application for photos and hiding sensitive material from those you love most. they will come for your photos, and all of your files one day. it may be them, or it may be someone. but it will be one of the people you know or one of the people you will know in the future. do not let them get a toehold. strike while the iron is hot. pincer movements and pressure. tempo is the name of the game. you dictate the time and the tempo. attack. push. prod. check. move. displace displace displace.

that’s right. deceive them all. conquer them. take what is yours, give nothing back.
