I was obligated to switch to this app for my employer’s wellness program. It offers other features that I don’t need and don’t care about; I just want it to count my points for steps and calories. I have no idea if one star is really warranted, but it fails at the one thing I want it to do.
Castlight says it is linked to CaloryGuard and is syncing, but no calories (and thus, no points) make it into this app. If it were accurate, I’d be dead by now.
Emails to support are ignored. In-app chat with support never connects. Any other app would be deleted by now, but this is designated by my employer as my only interface. Harrumph.

I installed this app and it had my Garmin added from the previous Jiff app but Apple HealthKit does NOT work! This is a known issue that appears (based on previous reviews) to be an ignored issue. Support indicated through chat that it is a known issue but there is no fix.

Some pages in Castlight will simply not load, with a loading screen churning away for a minute+ and chat support didn’t load 3 of the 4 times attempted with an error the second time and nothing but an empty support screen three other times.

Loading times are slow for many of Castlight pages and content is arranged awkwardly so navigating Castlight can be frustrating.

I still enjoy perks for spending earned points, but even this process is more time consuming because each time you want to enter a 10 point drawing, you must do it individually. Not a big deal, but in jiff I seem to remember being able to select how many entries I wanted at one time so I didn’t have to sit through loading multiple screens for each entry. Again, not a big deal, but 10 entries now takes 10+ times longer.

Jiff was a better app in my opinion.

Many of the reviews of this app are also suspiciously 5 star ratings with too good to be true positive sentiments as if they were either bribed with points or not real users. Go read some and see for yourself.

Updated to reduce from 2 stars to 1. Castlight went from slow to the point of not even loading. My phone is on the latest iOS and Castlight is updated, so this should not be happening. It has also stopped capturing data from linked applications such as Apple Health. Usage of Castlight has actively contributed to adding frustration to my day.

I want to like Castlight. It is really nice to have integration of a number of different health elements incentivized with rewards for achievement. It doesn’t really do anything that Apple Health is missing aside getting a reward. The biggest problem is that Castlight is painfully slow. It takes longer to load than any other app on my phone by a long shot. After the most recent update it won’t even load.

Castlight does NOTHING!!! All reviews must be payed or something.

Only shows some of your benefits plan name and a link to their website. THAT’S IT!!!

Supposedly it gives you recommendations to improve your health... IT DOESN’T. The recommendations tab is empty even tho in the initial setup I connected it to Apple Health. But it doesn’t even show Apple Health stats.

Supposedly it gives you access to Doctors visits costs and nearby emergency care price etc... guess what? IT DOESNT

NOTHING WORKS!

It has been installed on my phone for about a week... giving it some time to refresh or something and... NOTHING WORKS.

Sent an email 5 days ago to Support and... no response. I called several times to customer service asking for a device store credit that I never got and they all gave me different answers but NO SOLUTIONS.

Funny thing is... some of my coworkers are using it and is working fine for them. They just don’t care if you’re having a good experience with Castlight or not.

Overall seemed good, but the devil is in the details if you care about having accurate tracking. First, you have to enter your password every time you enter Castlight . No way far as I can see to correct that. very annoying. Next, I was having issues with my activity tracker and have been entering sleep and steps manually. The slide bars to enter your steps and sleep hours is very frustrating. It’s hard to get the slide bar on the right number. If you accidentally entered information for anything on the wrong day you’re stuck with it. Called the support line and they can’t fix it on their end either. So no way to correct any mistakes. Very frustrating

Ever since the last update, the time does not display when adding activities manually until after you stop moving any of the slide bars. You can’t tell where you need to stop the slide when trying to put your time in. Then, trying to adjust it up or down is difficult because you don’t know how much further to move it one way or the other. It takes 10 times as long to manually input anything anymore because of all the back and forth and guessing where to stop.

I would love Castlight more if it read my steps consistently and if you were able to count other workouts in place of steps. It’s frustrating when some days I do a long run and therefore end up with anywhere from 20,000 to 30,000 steps or more depending on what distance I’m training for. It would be nice to have some way of giving my feet a break the day after a long run by biking or swimming or even doing my weight workouts and having this count towards my steps. Ask, I find that some days my steps aren’t syncing up on this app. Otherwise I think Castlight is very motivating.

It’s ok but please add a search function ao we can actually find what we are looking for.

Would also be a huge improvement if you could update the manual activity entry options so we can enter data without using these terrible side scrollers that are way too sensitive and the values are way too specific for such a large number range (180 touch points in less than 3 inches!) so it takes almost a minute to adjust to correct value for each field! A drop down or open entry 3 digit number field would be far more practical.

The “rewards” offered are a joke, as they are just sweepstakes for things I don’t actually want that go in for way too long and have tens of thousands of entries, so odds of winning are practically zero; but I’m guessing that is based on my employer and not Castlight itself.

Has all your healthcare stuff in one place. I have my Health app synced with Apple Health. It pulls over all my steps, but doesn’t pull over sleep hours. I have to put them in manually. The frustrating thing with the manual entry is it is a sliding bar for 15 minute increments instead of a keypad to type the number in. Would go to 5 stars with one of those two fixes.

This is a great tool to help manage your health. Earning points is so easy! I have already used points towards some rewards and purchased an activity tracker with the discount. One suggestion would be to award points for workouts logged not just step goals. I can have an hour long high impact or strength training session and not make my step goal for the day because I have a desk job. I think minimum points for any workout and the max for workout plus making step goal would be great!

What an experience to be able to see everything about my plan and all the benefits I have on one website / in one app. I felt frozen to do anything with my healthcare because I didn’t know how much it would cost to see the doctor and I didn’t know what was covered. I didn’t want to end up with a giant bill! But now I feel like I’m in control.

I absolutely love how easy it is to earn points and get free stuff! If I didn’t already have motivation to be healthy, this is just icing on the cake. I also love Monj, the nutrition and recipe site. How cool is that!

this app is very easy to use. I was able to determine if a doctor was in-network and which location was best for me within a minute! I sincerely mean it! It was so fast. I also like the programs and chances to make up to $750 in HSA dollars. All in all, I have enjoyed using this app this year!

I loved Castlight until the last update - I haven’t been able to sync with my Fitbit app since the upgrade. Actually I am assuming it was the upgrade due to the timing as i synch weekly without issue until today and when I checked for a Fitbit upgrade I saw that this app did a background update 3 days ago.

I just downloaded the cast light app. I am blown away at the features. It has everything I need in one place. Where have you been all my life? The rewards are top notch. Great gift cards at the best locations. I’ve got to figure out how to link my Fitbit/steps to track for points but that should be easy. Just wanted to stop, take the time and say Castlight nailed it! It’s what I call my life’s app.

I enjoy having the search for a network physician already completed for me! It is really convenient that physicians are categorized by their specialty, and are listed as those closest to my home address with contact information, and patient reviews.

Although Castlight connects to Apple Health, it gives you points based on steps and not calories burned that come from Apple Health/ Apple Watch. That would be the one recommendation. Otherwise Castlight functions pretty well aside from having to log back in after just a short time if you multi-task into another app.

I’ve had to call customer service due to points not being accurately added. I’ve also spent countless minutes into hours trying to sync, sync, sync and re-sync to get to app to properly track my points. I’m spending way too much time for something that should be an automatic. I was told if I wait to long call customer service, I could risk losing points. I’m unsatisfied but still encouraged to keep at it for now.

My employer recently went to this app and I kind of groaned a little when I heard the previous program was being discontinued. So I went ahead and signed up with this app. I’m so happy we went with this program!!! EVERYTHING is available to me instantly. Where am I with my deductible? Boom, right there. The incentive program is really good too! I’ve never had access to something like this before, and I hope I’ll never have to live without it!!!

I took my daughter for her first ever gynecologist appointment and he just talked to her the first day, no exam. Spent a good solid 30 minutes educating her about college and things that can happen, educational preventative measures and taking special care to make her comfortable and care about her health. He is a gem. He is new to the area for a couple years now and moved from Colorado and did his residency in New York. He talks to you and is a normal down to earth smart human. I would trust him with myself or any of my three daughters.

I have really enjoyed Castlight thus far. I can track my workouts/steps and I also use the feature to track my sleep, eating and help pay off debt.

I also like that I can easily see the balance of my HSA and view my insurance card from Castlight . It was also very easy to search for a doctor in my area and see the price and quality of the doctor. Love it.

I’m new to Castlight (and service). I love how friendly and approachable Castlight feels. Especially for such a complex thing like healthcare. The cost comparison could come in handy, as long as it considers quality, which it seems like it does.

I’ve encountered one bug so far. When using the Find Care search, after I adjust the filters, things become unresponsive. Oddly, the list still scrolls, but almost everything else I touch is unresponsive.

this app provides me with both a snapshot and detailed information regarding my health care concerns. From choosing a medical professional, financial information regarding my deductible and costs to providing me health care information on exercise and dietary needs. I really appreciate the comprehensive approach that this app provides.

Literally a must have! This is the best thing to happen to Insurance. It eliminates the hassle and struggle of finding a doctor and takes away any headache. Seriously LOVE this app! I’m only 20 and I was avoiding going to the doctor because of the process and having to find the right person who takes me insurance.
