This is the most inconsistent app I’ve ever used. First, when I enter my (correct!) password, half the time it won’t accept it or just freezes on the loading page. Second, sometimes BlueCrossMN just crashes or logs out when I’m trying to look something up. Third, the “Find a Doctor” tool, which I use the most in BlueCrossMN, is so clunky and difficult to navigate. Fourth, any time they update BlueCrossMN , none of the above issues are fixed but instead the layout or how to search for things changes and becomes even more difficult to navigate.
Just log in to their website instead of using this horrible app!

It makes me sick to my stomach that I even have to give BlueCrossMN one star, BlueCrossMN is completely useless. I log into BlueCrossMN , am able to look at the front page for a few seconds, then I get an error message saying “oops, something went wrong” and I’m logged out. This happened three times in a row, completely worthless app!

BlueCrossMN does not consistently show me my digital card. This kind of defeats the purpose of having a digital card, I have to carry my card with me Bc I never know when it will show or not.
Also, why can’t I add this to my Apple Wallet. My past health insurance providers had this option, as well as my dental and vision.

Every time I try to log into BlueCrossMN with my account information I get the loading pinwheel of death. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling the same thing happens. There’s an app for everything and it’s a shame this has one does not work properly. As the title of this review says, just go to their website and log in. Takes substantially less time.
Side note: I can’t request ID cards in any form from the website either. May benefit to call them. So, food for thought to any who care.

Another time sucking forced convenience .
Anytime I’ve gone in to BlueCrossMN I have to request an additional token password ( defeating the main purpose of convenience ) which may take up to 20 minutes to arrive in my email. However, when you finally get this one time token pass word, it doesn’t work. Tonight I gave up after 4 times .
So, 20 min and I still don’t have the information I need .
This is my first year purchasing BCBS . If it doesn’t improve shortly it will be my last .

Did BCBS MN actually pay someone to design this awful website? Not intuitive. Not user-friendly. Cannot view an EOB that I need to send to my Flex account. What exact.y was the purpose of this tripe? You must get a lot of calls from dissatisfied customers wondering how to use it. Do us a favor and start over.

I can’t even log on! It keeps telling me to “log into the online experience to validate my email address,” but I cannot find anywhere to do this. I can successfully navigate the desktop site (except the part where I’m supposed to validate my email, I guess) but I can’t get into to app.
There’s no tech email or anything to contact for help so I’m just going to complain [review] loudly [poorly] until someone responds to my problem, as is the American Way.

I have never taken time to review an app when it’s not performing well. . . Until now. Absolute complete disappointment every time. Uninstalled BlueCrossMN and installed again many times. . . Still the worst. Just serves as false hope. Consider yourself lucky if you can even get signed on or past the constant spinning pinwheel. Apps created by Joe Schmo in their mom’s basement work better than this multimillion company’s app. I would change insurance providers if I had a choice just for ease of convenience for a better app. . . It’s that bad. Fingers crossed for improvement in the future? Sigh.

I hate BlueCrossMN. I hate it so much. Thought I’d try it again after many months, just did the delete and reinstall, jumped through the hoops for logging in, it seems like the main screen loads and then it crashes a split second later, giving you the “Oops” screen.

If I can get past logging in — such a difficult thing I am only successful half the time! — I almost always fail to get the info I want before BlueCrossMN just gives up. It either freezes or knocks you back to login.
You are far better off just going to their website since that is where you will end up anyway.

BlueCrossMN has been broken for months, if not years. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling. After login in successfully, and error screen that says “something went wrong” comes up in less than a second, which logs you outs automatically.

BlueCrossMN is so frustrating to use. I’m lucky if it works successfully for 5 minutes before it either stops loading everything, takes me to an error screen, or endlessly repeats a pop up about not being able to view a PDF at this time. (Spoiler alert: it is not able to view the PDFs at any time ever.) BlueCrossMN is essentially worthless.

Since this is a new App I’m expecting some growing pains; But the layout doesn’t work with the iPhone X users. The home buttons appear under our phones home button, triggering the keyboard to appear every time we try and navigate the menu. Annoying and frustrating.

BlueCrossMN seems to be a low priority for BCBS MN. If all you want is your plan name, or a digital copy of your member card - fine. But almost none of the utilities are up-to-date or useful. The "Find a Doctor" tool is littered with out-of-date recommendations. I found the BCBS MN desktop site far more helpful.

Needs to allow you to actually see an explanation of benefits. The call button is completely useless. I understand it takes some programming to launch a call but to provide a generic message that says to call the number on the back of the card instead of actually providing the number is absurd

BlueCrossMN is great… when it actually decides to work. Which is rarely. I haven’t been able to use it to log into my account for the last 2 months. I guess if you have the insurance it’s worth a download for the times that it does work, but just know that most of the time it won’t even log you in. Huge bummer when I just need a quick snapshot of my account and HSA balance waiting in line at the pharmacy. On second thought, maybe BlueCrossMN is simply more trouble than it’s worth. Just log in on your internet browser instead.

Developers recently fixed a major login issue. Now BlueCrossMN actually works!! Prior to the patch, I couldn’t even login. Good app to review my plan and check out my member card
Things that they should add…
- Face recognition login
- Ability to add card to Digital Wallet. BCBS has the capability for other states, guess BCBS Minnesota is just behind the times

Things have changed since when I started using BlueCrossMN. When you hit the find a doctor now, you have to sign in multiple times all over again. On the main screen of BlueCrossMN , it doesn’t give me my deductible info or where I am at out of pocket wise anymore.
by JustCJ
I like that the member card is available through BlueCrossMN . Just in case the card was forgotten at home or work. And see a process of a claim.
The one thing I would like to see in a next update, is the option to put my member card in the Apple Wallet on my iPhone. The other 2 apps I have for dental and eye offer the option.

Nothing seems to work when I try to do anything. It comes up blank when I try and search for a doctor, I can’t access my insurance card, I can’t access an EOB or a break down of what my benefits actually are. You’d think one of the largest insurance corporations would be able to get an app right.
by Buffalojohnson
Horrible App. I can’t even register my information because the screen won’t stay where I can press the register button. Just garbage!!!!
You’d think you wouldn’t put it out there if it doesn’t work!! Waste of time!
by BWJR88
This is, without question, the worst app I’ve ever downloaded. Slow, unstable, etc. everything you’d want in a horrible app, right at your finger tips. DON’T DOWNLOAD THIS

Can't even log on as a member. Infinite loading and nothing else.
by Jilly111
I can log in successfully; however; once logged in the screen goes blank. This just recently started happening. I have an iPhone 7.
by Jdmk9
I have attempted to use BlueCrossMN for multiple years and cannot log in even if i change my password.
Guess I don’t need to see a doctor.
BCBS of Minnesota is garbage.
by Sunn1441
BlueCrossMN is not currently working on my iPhone XS. I can logging but the screen goes white.
by GymnastBoatman
These two things right here make BlueCrossMN garbage compared to other BCBS state apps.
Also, it’s not optimized for X devices by 2019.
Response to Dev response:
Touch ID was introduced in 2013. Not having support for it now and having to recommend using password autofill is pathetic and makes you look even worse.
by Mnnice1111
Pain to always have to log back into BlueCrossMN
But it’s clean design
by Canoe22
Was forced to get a password from customer service(app wouldn’t register with my password choice) and now I cannot change it. There’s not options in BlueCrossMN or settings page. Lame!
by Rjparikh
Logging in is difficult. Would be nice if it consistently worked and would use Face ID.
by Tahoebigah
It’s a good app but having to type my username and password in every time is annoying. I wish they would implement touch/Face ID

Really like having access to my member card, my claims history and deductible info accessible in an easy to understand format! Great job on BlueCrossMN!
