AxonView is honestly awful. It has potential to be a great resource when videos actually load, but it’s almost never. You can’t skip through a video because it never loads and then the video crashes. Even while a video is playing just fine, the video crashes and you have to go back and “reconnect” the camera and go through the whole process again. It’s honestly taking up space in my phone at this point because the only thing that *usually* acts right is Live view but I hardly ever need it for that. Fix the loading and connectivity issues when trying to play back videos. It’s the whole point of AxonView .
…that my department will switch to another BWC system. They haven’t gotten AxonView right in ten years, so there’s no reason to think they’ll do it now. App for viewing footage can’t actually view footage. I wouldn’t be upset if they called it “Axon Label,” because you can label videos, but not view them.
How is it that AXON is a multimillion dollar company but can’t afford to put some money into AxonView? Videos don’t load. When they do it’s spotty and consistently drops. It would be nice to be able to review my videos on the go so I can write more accurate reports.
Similar issues as the others, does not connect to camera. I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall several times. Multimillion dollar company and they can’t seem to fix the simplest of issues.
Like a lot of people have stated, I have to delete and reinstall AxonView completely, everytime I need to switch to my second camera. I never had problems with the older system, but now it’s a giant pain.
What good is reviewing body camera footage from a call if it doesn’t load or freezes when you skip over a part? App has been horrible for the two years I’ve had to use it.
It’s designed with good intentions and would work so well IF it worked as it was designed. However, it rarely works. I usually cannot connect my camera. Even if I can, the playback feature is GARBAGE. I don’t think it’s ever worked for me.
I never seemed to have any problems with pairing and staying paired with the body cam three. We just got body Cam fours and AxonView is completely worthless. I don’t know if it’s AxonView or the body cam 4 but it won’t pair. Then once I get it paired, it will only stay paired for about a week. It’s so frustrating
Unable to view videos on my work iPhone or my personal iPhone. The wheel just spins constantly and once the video plays it won't allow skipping to a different part without stopping playback. Also is not landscape-friendly.
After a long period of attempting to pair my equally as horrible body 3 camera to AxonView, it just sits in a loading phase when trying to review a video for my report. AxonView did work better with the body 2 camera (which was light years better than the body 3). Don’t waste your time downloading these Axon apps to help with reviewing your reports. Pen and paper is way more reliable.
AxonView used to be great for viewing videos in the field to assist with reports. Now it’s a shell of what it used to be. Camera will not stay connected to Wi-Fi and we can only view approximately 60 seconds of video before it fails. When you contact axon they’ll blame you and the bwc despite widespread reports from multiple agencies about AxonView ’s failures.
App has worked well for the months I’ve been using it. The latest update has cause intolerable connection issues for all of our cameras on every deputy’s phone. Camera will not pair to a phone anymore period and simply gets stuck on “Bonding…” during the pairing process. Phone reboots, app reinstalls, camera reboots, yet nothing has remedied this issue and AxonView is unusable. Please fix this AXON.
I have had to install and reinstall AxonView so many times here recently it’s crazy. Before it was only every once in a while but now I’m getting the “an unexpected error has occurred” message and it won’t even let me get to the login screen and if I get there I can’t get pass that. Please fix these issues.
It’s keep kicking me out everytime I try to advance forward and after about 40 secs of playing a video. Goes back to the connect and play screen.
Update is needed to fix the bugs. Keep crashing and disconnecting from my BWC. App has great potential, but if these issues persist, it will more of a pain than help.
AxonView would be great if it consistently worked. It has several flaws and bugs that should have been worked out by now. I need to delete and reinstall AxonView in order for it to link with another BWC. It also has a difficult time loading a video for review.
You can title and add incident numbers. Try viewing video back and it’s impossible. Constantly buffers until the wi-fi disconnects. Pretty awful app.
I’ve had no real issues until the most recent update. The camera default names the videos something that used to easily be erased by tapping the “x” next to the name. Now in order to erase and rename the video, I have to hold the backspace key and delete however many(30?) characters. Please bring back the old way. When trying to label videos in between calls, speed and convenience help!

Crashes the phone periodically
Ever since the 5.8.0 update, video playback has not been working very well. The video is slow to load and will often crash. If you try to pan forward in the video, it won’t load and continuously buffers and eventually crashes. I’ve tried reinstalling AxonView as well as repairing my camera to AxonView . Another complaint is you cannot set the prefix for the ID number and the iOS version of AxonView .
It would be nice if they added the user manuals of each model to AxonView so one could quickly reference it.
Other than that, once it pairs with my camera it’s great.
