I paid for this app Pro in 2017. It worked fine. BIMx was automatically updated to the new version in July 2020 -- and it no longer works. It says I need to convert the model to the latest format -- but the conversion process doesn't work. I'd be happy to go back to this app Pro -- which I paid for -- but now it wants me to pay again for an app I already purchased.

Not sure this is a software suppliers you want to rely upon.

Anyone who has used this app prior to the latest ArchiCAD 24 release knows how poor in comparison BIMx is. The 3D looks “shockingly” bad in comparison, there is no longer any function to view in stereo 3D with R/B glasses, and the parallel projections has been removed.

I can think of no reason why they removed these items, except a simply poor decision to do so.

Hard to learn and I can’t figure out how to create a design dong get it

BIMx is clearly attractive. And as much as I’d love to work with BIMx there’s one thing that set me off to uninstall it and that’s when moving the camera. The Left is Right, Right is Left, Up is Down and Down is Up. Why?? Why why why.?..? If i pan to the Right i want the camera to move to the right not the Left. Mind Blowing decision and sad because it could’ve been a 5 star in my book.

It’s alittle hard for beginners

I have been using BIMx for 2 months now. And since the latest update in July 2020 the colors have been too light and it hardly gives the outward appearance as intended as before. Please fix. I appreciate the effort put into this application though, just perfect. Sort the color issues because i want to buy.

This is a beautiful app and it is truly amazing. It can be a bit difficult to learn to move in 3D mode but after a bit it's easy. The details are grate and BIMx is very easy to view any part of the home.

With that said I am very disappointed that I can't edit anything! It just views only. If there was an in app purchase for a builder/ modifier then BIMx would be perfect.

Despite occasional issues BIMx has become an integrated part of our process allowing us to display and share construction documentation from ArchiCAD throughout the entire construction phase. The addition of Google Cardboard support has similarly allowed us to present buildings at scale to clients. Being able to see elements 1:1 allows everyone to make informed opinions. There's still room for improvement but this app has become a necessary part of our practice.

Absolutely love BIMx but it is very slow and glitchy. I will download some and then it's gone or logs me off. It is very slow. Please fix! Thanks!

I’m happy to report that after I reported a bug with this app related to either the new iOS 15 or iPhone 13, the bug was fixed within a week. And the bug was part of a teething problem of the sort you might expect from a major OS release. Thank you, Graphisoft! Good support.

This program is INDISPENSABLE in communicating my designs to clients and if you use Archicad you should be using it too.

This is NOT for building home models. This program is exceptional for product development and review of ArchiCAD files for client use. Easy controls and fast save make this a choice tool over sending client elevations. Most homes will have floor plans generated and simply send the this app file for review. Great tool!

Previous reviews claim BIMx is useless but that is likely because they don't know it's purpose. By itself it is useless but as a viewer of this app models created in ArchiCAD it is an amazing!! It allows you to fly through your models easily and on a mobile device, perfect for presenting the project!! Thank you Graphisoft

Once I used BIMx for the first time I realized how well it was constructed and how amazing the creators made BIMx, it is a wonderful way to have downloaded files of homes and buildings for architecture, planning, building, etc. But in all BIMx has for sure earned from me a great 5 Stars.

This is a fantastic app for showing models in the design stage. It is true that you either need Archicad or know someone who has it to get your models into BIMx , or you can also walk around other peoples designs that you can download from BIMx .

If you use a autodesk product like revit, you are going to have to convert it into a 3ds file to import it into Archicad, which can create some problems. (this may not be true for the newest version of Archicad) so I like using sketchup for early design stuff anyway. I have not had any problems doing it this way.

I wish that I would have had this as a way to show my projects back in college.

This is a decent viewer of the various layers of our architect-provided home plan, but the measuring tool (ruler) is disabled unless you “go pro” for $49. Why should I pay $49 to be able to measure things in my own house plan?

this app and this app Docs bring extremely useful and powerful visualizations to clients and customers. The apps demonstrate how drawings are but 2D "slices" through a physical 3D and alphanumeric database model of a building.

Many clients and customers have difficulty translating 2D into 3D but this app shows these important linkages.

this app Docs is excellent value for money and is one of the first "user manual" apps available to building owners.
