The BYUTV app on Sony tv runs but when you try to play anything you just get a blank screen

I was able to watch the first episode of Theodosia before finding out I had to create an account and register the Roku TV which we use most often, but upon trying to watch it again with my wife, I found out I had to create an account. After creating account, I could navigate the screens, but whenever I got to the actual playing of the episode, the screen showed the title still with the title at top and a loading status bar at about 40 percent, which never moves, and could not respond to anything except to stop the channel. Called tech support and was told to try deleting and adding the BYUTV app on the TV, which did not change the situation. Tried other shows with same result. Rebooted TV, no change. Tech support gave up and blamed it on the internet connection, but Verizon is not aware of any problem streaming BYUTV (search of Verizon web site showed problem with FiOS wired connection, i.e. cable emulator, but not with streaming on internet. All other channels work on Roku TV and on another smart TV, but not BYUTV (symptom on second TV is similar, but spins the circle of dots instead). However, Theodosia episode 1 DID start to display on a Windows desktop with no problem! Same internet service, same network, same everything. We are in Salem, Oregon, using the highest speed (newest) Verizon 5G/LTE service.

“You are not authenticated” message is at the bottom of the screen. We have used the BYU app for many years. What's up with that and tell me how to fix it, please.

Watching the Chosen it keeps freezing up. Sometimes I can take it back a few frames and it will go fine, a lot of the time it freezes at the same frame.

“You are not authenticated” is at the bottom of the screen. We have used the BYU app for many years.

I have not been able to watch anything on this app for awhile now. It is on my Samsung TV and worked fine when I would get on my roku and choose the byu app . I checked to make sure it was updated. It is. It looks like it will start to load for half a second and then goes back to the home page for roku. Please, help . I love watching byu !

I can watch a movie for a little while and then it just stops working. What can I do to fix this?

I use Amazon's Firestick on my home television. For this past month the BYU TV app does not work. All I get is a black screen with the BYU TV logo in the upper left corner of the screen. I deleted the app and reinstalled a couple times; it works until I shut off the TV, then the problem re-emerges. Is there a fix for this?

BYUtv just started not showing any of its content. Sometimes sound but no picture. Or, just the little spinning thing in middle of a black screen & no sound. Once in a while a movie. All other things work on my iPad Pro.

Selecting shows on BYU TV app for Roku isn't working. When I try to select a program, instead of moving one space, it moves three. This is not a problem with the remote. Other ROKU apps are functioning properly. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

We cannot exit the BYU TV app unless we shut down the TV completely. We use the NVidia shield on our Android smart TV. It is only your channel that we have this issue with. We also are not able to go back into other seasons of multiple programs to watch them. Today it was Relative Race season 2 episode 1. Even though it popped to start, it immediately popped into episode 2 and we can’t view episode 1.

Just about every time I want to watch byutv in the last month I have to uninstall it then reinstall it, and then sign in. Which I do, and can then watch shows for maybe a couple days if I am lucky. Now I am getting the message across the screen " you are not authenticated" What does this mean? thank you.

Every time I try to watch live coverage on BYU TV I have trouble signing in. Even using the code that it gives me does not work.

I cannot open the BYUtv app it has in the right hand corner a little sign that says sign in but I've never had to sign in and then it won't pull up any of the BYU programs so how do I fix this before we get into the basketball tournament?

On Roku the second you push "Watch now" on any of the shows or movies it just goes to the Roku home. We have uninstalled and reinstalled several time. It does this on all of our TVs. All other apps work on the TVs.

I am an avid fan of Dwight in Shining Armour. Binge watching it frequently. The app on firestick will only let me watch certain episodes. It just skips by until it finds one it likes. Literally the title comes up then it goes black. Next show comes up ditto. You never know which one it will show.

I have installed and uninstalled it 3 times on my fire tv. It works for a while then gives me a black screen with just the sign in spot in the corner. Please fix this!!! Sounds like I'm not the only one.

On an iPad and Roku device it loads lets us select a show like studio c (the bop it episode ) then the the screen goes black and closes out of the app.

firefox 102.7.0 esr (64-bit) on FreeBSD 13.2 won't play BYUtv videos. Just a spinning circular arrow. When I slide the mouse along the bar at the bottom I can see the images and times throu out the video but it doesn't play.

Trying to get the byutv app on firestick to register so I can watch live byutv. I keep getting the run around. It says to sigh in and it opens byutv app on my phone or computer but not to register the firestick. What am I doing wrong?

Solution: fire stick: go to the sprocket wheel (section to access all the firestick categories) Applications Manage installed applications Go to BYUtv Force Stop Clear your cache Clear the data (select clear data again when sent to a new screen) Launch application from this menu. When I sign on to byutv on my tv the screen is black except it says "byutv" in the upper left corner, and has a "sign in box" in the upper right corner, but I can't navigate to it. nothing happens. It was working great a couple of days ago. Thank you.

The but app works on my phone but on our LG tv using the Amazon fire stick, it kicks us off or just stops after a minute. We've uninstalled and then installed again but we can't get it to work.

We had to factory reset our Sony Bravia tv and now your app is no longer in the Google Play store. When I tried to send it from my iPhone it says it’s not compatible. Please help!

I bought a new Sony Bravia tv and your app is not in the goooplay store. When I tried to send it from my iPhone it say not compatible. I have added and watched on numerous devices before. I appreciate any advice you might have. I love your programming. Leigh

Tapped on my BYUtv app, and says it is offline. What happened. I use to just tap on it and it went on directly, and yes I do have an account!

Video is not playable error displays when I try to view most of the content on the app. It is installed on an Amazon fire tv cube. No issue with wifi or streaming on other apps. Is there a fix for this issue?

None of the videos will stream on my PC computer (windows 10) with either Chrome or Firefox. I turned off the add blocker. It does work on my iphone app when on the same wifi network. I restarted the computer and cannot think what else to try. The only video that does stream is the Chosen trailer video. I've found no others that work. Up until recently (within the month or so) it all worked. Thanks!

I cannot watch any shows on my BYU TV app on my TV. When I click on play episode or play movie a pop-up says video is not playable.

when I choose rudy and the well, after I choose the episode the web cuts out and goes back to my home screen. this only happens on my laptop. the App works fine on my Android phone.
