Truly bizarre app

Whoever designed the feature set and user experience for EVA should be fired.
EVA does a bunch of unnecessary crap, but the important stuff, like managing your trip, rescheduling or cancelling a flight, it can't handle. It refers me to their website, which BTW has the same unintuitive look and feel as EVA . If I have to open a browser why do I need an app?
Also, the description says that it supports Apple Wallet. It's a lie. I checked in via EVA. I can see the boarding pass in EVA . There's no boarding pass in Wallet, only in EVA . Worst off all, the boarding pass is useless. At the airport counter they issue the old paper boarding pass. I asked them why they told me to ignore the one in EVA . Very Eco-friendly.
BTW, hire somehow proficient in English. When you display an informational message, the dismiss button should be OK, not CONFIRM. I can only confirm info that I give you. I can only acknowledge info that you give me. Lots of English mistakes like that.

Manage my account

I see no way to look at or edit my profile information. I got an email that gave me notice that the name on my ticket (Sehested RobertJoseph) does not match the name that I used when I signed up with on the this app APP. (Sehested Robert) So I won’t be able to receive the points I earned flying with you... when filling out a form if there is no line for a middle name .... and when you are asked for a given name the only name most Americans will put is there first name only. So adding a line for middle name could be helpful when dealing with Americans. OR using a persons passport number to give reward points might be another way to award points.

Can you change my name on EVA to SEHESTED ROBERTJOSEPH OR PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN CHANGE IT SO I GET THE POINTS I EARNED FLYING WITH YOU ON MAY 10, 2019. And MAY 20, 2019. Thank you

Shockingly Bad App

Additional Feedback new App Release.
I just booked a ticket from SFO-BKK for next year. I was browsing various flight options. I only went to the payment process for a single reservation. BUT ... somehow I ended up with 3 bookings!!!

There are so many issues with this site that it points to a major systemic problem in the this app IT staff.

I love this app Air. This Application is third rate. I won’t get into the defects I have found over the years, but it should be deeply embarrassing for such a fine company. The latest issue that prompted me to write the review: trying to book RT from SFO to Chiang Mai. EVA doesn’t let me select CNX as the destination But I can book CNX-SFO, just not SFO-CNX. I can make this selection on the website, just not the iPhone App. This may seem like a small issue, but it’s just one of many I have found.

The very good news is that the same Developers are CLEARLY not maintaining the software on the this app aircraft ...

this app Management: PLEASE listen to your unhappy customers regarding this Application. Repeated defects such we are seeing are indicative of a bigger problem.

difficult to book a flight

for some strange reason EVA won’t let me access the flight booking with a phone connection. It seems to require wifi. I love to fly this app but their phone app and website are not up to the same excellent standards.

Has Become Completely Useless

This was never a good app to begin with; however, I was always able to search for and book flights. Now, that capability no longer exists. EVA will allow the user to input airports and dates, but it only returns some message regarding Java Script. It says that the page will reload automatically, which it never does. If you try to load it manually, it just returns a “Bad Request” error message. Reinstalling it makes no difference. I just can’t imagine why a great airline like this app, which is based in one of the world’s most technologically advanced countries, would settle for having such a poor app.

Ticketing status shown is not consistent with desktop version

On a desktop browser, I see that I have a ticket number shown in my Manage trip panel on all of my reservations However, on the mobile app, one of my reservations showed “ticket not issued”. I’ve contacted the this app office and they confirmed that my reservation is fine, but I just want to point this out to avoid confusion for others who may have this issue and have paid for the ticket

Very inadequate

App should show updated boarding gate info. It should also show booked flight status without having to repeatedly type in your flight number.

It’s very annoying how you have to input data over and over again when you go to Flight Status.

It’s also very annoying how, when you click on anything, there’s a long wait where the screen changes to a paid service they’re advertising. Is that deliberate. Instead of just taking you to the page you want, EVA makes you look at this app ads?!!!

Stop

Stop sending unsolicited messages via EVA.

Update - I had to turn off a push notification feature that probably activated when I installed EVA . this app developer team sent mail advising this solution which was actually kind of nice. Most of the time app developers remain silent. At least this app was proactive so I’m changing from a 1 Star to 3 star as EVA is still far behind other airline apps that I use.

Really bad and useless

Truly one of the worst iPhone apps I’ve ever used and certainly the worst airline app of all time. Seriously you can’t add boarding passes to passbook? It’s 2018 get with the program. And the navigation and information architecture of EVA is a nightmare. Lastly, this airline stupidly requires you to enter your first name followed by middle names with no spaces as it appears on your ticket sometimes. It will not retrieve your reservation otherwise. You guys have so much work to do. Pull EVA from EVA Store and hit reset/start over.

Need better QA and UI/UX design

Around 2017 before someone did major upgrade on EVA in, everything was working OK, not great but EVA did not have any major bug and UI flow was Ok. After new upgrade around end of 2017, so many bugs and so difficult to use EVA.

1. Just forced to upgrade to latest version. EVA deleted my password so I have to find it or reset it. The user ID and password should able to save even new upgrade.
2. The number on the virtual keyboard is a mess on iPhone. It is in random order. This is such simple function and no one is QA it.
3. The UI flow is not easy to follow. It feels this app wants to turn EVA as eCommerce to sell more duty free items than make easier for passengers to use it.
I have been this app member for long time. this app needs to hire better App UI designer and QA team to fix the problems.

Multiple cities booking is needed.

Getting better and better. One star is carrying for attention. It is a good app actually.

One thing need to be added is to allow multiple cities booking. It can only book one way or round trip now. Other airline, like UA, allow you book multiple stops. Nowadays for business or for pleasure, it is rarely just from point A to point B and return. We Multiple cities booking is needed.

Please add it and I will change the rating to 5.

Pretty - but useless

So secure it can’t be installed without great trouble and then it can’t find my business class reservation i just made - and then they have their own keyboard for some Reason that doesn’t even have the special characters they ask you to put In your password, so I had to change my password to be able to log in to EVA - all together 1.5 hrs to install an app that disappoints you - my first experience with this app - hope it gets better ☹️

Poorly designed

You can’t properly check in and get your boarding pass, non existent option! Seats cannot be simply changed no matter how you try it! Freezing at times, buttons are not sensitive enough you better tap on it more than one time! Useless especially thinking in times we are living when apps should be able to do things! 5 star airline with really poor app that should make life better and not harder!

this app has a fair price for airfare. But these days of covid19 virus, you don’t how to contact them because all their offices were closed. They should allocate a number that should be answered by one of their staff. My flight has been cancelled and re schedule again but no one notify me. I’d been contacting them since last week but in vain. Please advised!

Terrible version. Full of bugs.

This version is so full of bugs. I can’t see any of my reservations for example. I can’t get any information on their membership section. It seems to be forever searching for information. But nothing ever shows up. I can’t even see my membership card. It just kicks me out of EVA . I was able to in previous versions. It appears like they didn’t do any testing whatsoever. So so disappointing.

FIRE the head of this app developer!!

I relied on EVA to manage my trips / view reservations since I travel every 2-3 weeks. Your new app (since September 2017) crashes every time I tried to view my reservations (iOS 10/11 on my phone). I have reinstalled EVA 3x and still can’t view my reservations. Being able to view reservation is the SINGLE MOST important feature, and you should fire the head of your app team for screwing this up. Garbage!!

Online presence is horrible

I suggest this app as my favorite carrier. However, EVA and website are nothing but juvenile. It does not surprise me. The Asian mentality is based on get their money and who cares after the check clears. Too bad because the flight crews are wonderful. They cancelled my flight which is understandable but then left me unable to rebook online or by phone. I had to rebook through a discount booking agency. Now I must attempt to get a refund. Disappointing.

As others have said...

this app also is one of my favorite airlines but whenever I am using your APP, it effectively discouraged me to pick another airline.

One very basic requirement of today’s APP or software- Remember the login information.

Do you not know that people using complicated passwords and who would remember all the user ID, membership numbers and password?

And for security reason, do you not know that today’s mobile devices already have bio-verification so it’s not just anybody can pick up your phone, open up APP, and steal any information in it.

Fire the CIO and the IT head and hire someone who lives in the modern era.

Your flights and services are excellent but your IT skills are sill in Stone Age.

This app is barely functional

- get push notifications for your flight but then when inside EVA , nothing shows up
- can’t find flight info using confirmation number and last/first name, but the website can do it just fine. EVA just hangs on the loading screen for minutes
- check in online to get my boarding pass, but then when I sign in on EVA , I can’t access it nor find it under ‘my flight’
- push notifications for meal selection but then when I navigate to EVA , there’s no way to actually select my meal (or even find my flight)

I’m not sure who would use EVA, since it fails to meet basic functions for travelers

Doesn’t quite work right

It’s a good idea, but there are just some logic problems with EVA. It never quite does what you need it to do and it does not take into account that people make mistakes. And I have to log in every time I use it?! The website isn’t any better...
