Only half works trip planning is stuck in pre august 2019

I have to go to google maps to plan my day After the buses stop for the night app is also fine for the night and I have to wait until 4 am to plan my dayBeing that I have difficulty moving in the morning and most of the time don’t need to leave until noon this getting up at 4 am stinks Also have been told as I’m heading out the door checking my phone that I am running on time I’m told no dudes running google tells me next bus is in one and a half house ok decide to go to the store two blocks down from my stop and as I am half way to the store I am posted by my bus I was planning on ridding was an hour late to my appointment also since bus routs at citrus connection changed the new roots do not show up in trip planning just old buses and old time trip planning is useless the only thing is you can see where the bus is and when the buses will be stopping in select routes just have to google to find out witch bus routes to look at since the trip planner hasn’t been updated

myStop makes taking the bus easy you can easily type in a address and it will show you the fastest way to get there on the Sunline, it lets you know exactly where and when the bus will arrive for daily commutes there’s really not much more myStop could be expected to do it lets you also know if there road construction or a reason alerts on why the bus route if there is any changes often I see people starring signs wondering when will the bus arrive if they have a phone I always show people how easy it is to use myStop my brother actually showed me myStop years ago and I haven’t had any trouble with transportation through Sunline ever since truly a useful app

Like favorite routes? Then DO NOT download new version

This “improved “ update removed the ability to limit and pick only your favorite routes and instead burdens the map with all possible routes and busses using a location. I think they want to force you to share where you are—which uses more battery and provides more information about you to whomever is purchasing it— but which was not necessary to use the previous version well. (FYI myStop provides zero privacy information so you’re just supposed to trust them on that.) As far as better bus location information that still depends on your bus system and how well the transponder is working on a particular bus. I’m sorry I upgraded because the experience for me is much worse.

Not working, UPDATE

***UPDATE***
After not hearing anything firm the customer service rep for the entire week, I got an email this morning saying that they had a new build of myStop and believes they fixed the ‘fail to launch’. I reinstalled myStop and now it works. Very happy that it works now.

***ORIGINAL***
I downloaded myStop after iOS 13 rolled out and myStop never opens. It will try to open but will immediately crash. I was emailing back and forth with a customer service rep but i haven’t heard anything in a couple days.

Useless when it can't dial home

Favorite stops and basic route information should be cached locally and not require internet/WiFi.

Obviously real-time updates require an active link but myStop becomes useless if the connection is laggy or it can't dial home.

Even if I can't connect, I need to know where the closest stops are, what the stop ID is, and which routes service them. It would also be good to show the scheduled times with adequate notice that they are scheduled, not real-time updates.

Useful!

This is a very useful app! You can see the buses in real time. I took off 2 stars because sometimes when you tap on a bus stop, it tells you that a bus is coming in 5-10 minutes but when you zoom out on the map, there are no nearby buses. When that time is up, it’s confirmed that there actually is no bus for that time frame so you were waiting at the stop for nothing. Then you have to catch the next one and make sure a bus is actually approaching on the map.

No silver line information!

I would give this a five star, but only if you put the silver line on the route information as in I can’t plan a trip from my home to my destinations or from one side of town to Department of children and family. The silver line does not come up as an option, myStop says you have to walk from the purple line to Department of children and family, instead of being able to get off the bus at the stop for that location!

Orange Line (to Silver Lake) is Terrible

myStop consistently screws over riders that use the Orange Line. Traveling from Silver Lake to Park City can only be done via the Orange Line, which only has two busses. This means that if you miss one bus you have to wait 30 minutes for the next. This wouldn’t be that terrible if there was a way to request for the bus to pickup at an already set pickup location on the route, but there isn’t. This has lead to drivers ignoring me at the Orange stops and me missing pickups by a few seconds because the drivers erratically change how long they wait at specific stops such as Silver Lake and The Transit Center.

Could improve

The visual design is okay but the lag is a PITA. Seems to freak out a little when switching between networks. When I turn my screen back on, waiting on Reconnecting when it’s already loaded and the last app used is annoying - takes forever. Also, waiting for everything to load when all I want is ONE route, ever... it should save your preferences better and only load what it needs to if that’s what your PREselected route is.

Didn’t work when I really needed it

I was relying on myStop to give me details of stops and when expected. For at least 40 minutes it was not updating the buses and delays. It was not the apps fault the bus was 25 minutes late but if the ap would have been able to connect I could have made other arrangements.

Be nice if the bus icons were telling you which direction they were going. The GPS was off a stop for us so took us a bit to figure out the next buses were based on that.

Recent update loses functionality

I have no idea why they rolled back so much of the usefulness of myStop. Before, you could view all stops on the map, click one, then click the lines that stop there to see the full route and the location of the bus. Now, you have to turn on the routes near you to even see the stops on the map, then go into a list of routes and turn each one on if you want to see the location of the bus. Total downgrade

Used to be good, now it’s garbage

1. Used to refresh automatically and there were no issues knowing there the busses are, now it’s very inaccurate
2. Used to be able to spin the map such that north didn’t have to be north, now you can’t do so.
3. Used to be able to view each bus route individually, now you can only select which ones to show on a map, not a bad feature, but offer both options.
4. Used to be significantly more accurate than cata app, but now they’re equally crappy

Very useful app

I use public transportation a lot, and myStop is really handy. It’s proven fairly accurate for getting up-to-the-minute info on the positions of buses along their routes, so I can tell if they’re running on time. I like how you can designate favorite routes for quick access.

App is basically useless since the update

I have had nothing but problems with myStop since I was forced to update to the latest version. There have been many occasions where myStop hasn’t been working at all when I need it, or if it does work, it is extremely slow. There was nothing wrong with the previous versions of myStop. No one asked for these changes that have only made thing worse. myStop developers should have just left it alone.

It doesn’t work anymore

About a year ago, I used myStop and it worked fine but then I redownload it yesterday and it doesn’t wanna work. It refuses to load ANYTHING like as soon as I open myStop it just gives me the spinny wheel of death and says “cannot load. No internet connection” (even though obviously I have an internet connection seeing as I have to have a connection to be able to write this review 🙃) please fix this.

Not Working Properly?

Every time I click on the stop I’m at to see how long it will take a bus to arrive, it says it will arrive at the time it shows on my phone (so if it’s 12:01 it says the next departure is at 12:01) even if the bus is across campus. I’ve deleted and redownloaded myStop and it still didn’t fix the problem. I know a few other people experience this same issue but I feel like it defeats the purpose of myStop .

Redesign is a mess on my device

I have an iPhone 6 SE, which hardly a dinosaur, and this new design update is a nightmare. There is a ton of wasted space; the map view is obscured by 50% with the oversized buttons, and when I try to view the bus times by stop, I can only see a sliver of the actual bus times while the rest of the screen is literally empty space. I’m sure I’m in the minority here, but this redesign has rendered a once useful app nearly worthless.

Needs work

Wish i could click on a bus and see the entire route with all stops and how late or early it is. Would also be nice if i could see when the bus was coming 24/7 even after buses are done running to be able to plane for the next day. Other than those few things its a very useful and helpful app.

Super useful but never displays the routes or bus locations on the map

myStop is super handy, but like mentioned in the title myStop only shows me the routes of buses 5% of the time I open it. And it never shows me the bus locations like it should. I would change my review to 5 if they fixed this but right now, it kinda stinks

Can’t use anymore..

Since the update I haven’t been able to use myStop for days. I have tried deleting and redownloading it countless times, every time I try to use it again, set a route, no matter what stop I click on it always says “No buses available for this stop”. It’s useless now and it always says there’s no buses running to any stops on any line for Lanta. Will use again when it’s fixed, until then have to rely on Apple Maps to tell me bus times.

Super frustrating to use

I don’t think the developers or product manager have ever used myStop to commute. It’s about 2-3 blocks slow on busses. In addition it’s not great at updating the information unless you force quit and restart myStop . Half of the time I’m trying to click on a stop it just opens the tool tip to let me know that the blue dot is my location. Great I already know that.

TLDR; it’s trash and I only use it because it’s the only option for my city
