I mean it too. ZDF has had the best in krimi series (Bella Block alone speaks to that!), films, comedy, talk & quizz shows, documentaries & the occasional classical concert. The actors are wonderful too.
My only complaint is that because I live in France, I can't get some of your best documentary films, nor ZDF Live. Whereas, I can now, suddenly get ARD Live as well as video's to play & replay.
So I have to wait to visit Germany, which I do for 2 long stays per year, at Christmas & during the summer. And I'm glad I do! Germany is a warm & open country, in general, & the people have a great sense of humour. What would a country be without that?

I like to watch German TV. However, on narrow bandwidth connections for example when traveling there is no decent buffering, making for a disruptive viewing experience. Memory is no longer a problem on most devices. App could also check, etc. so that after some wait with well-designed progress info there is a fully enjoyable experience. I rather wait a longer time at the beginning than have to wait many shorter times in mid sentence or have a frozen or black image with only sound etc. Please have your app designers test under real world conditions. Thank you.

Very high quality content, easy and flexible to navigate also for all Germans or those speaking German but live abroad. Only negative is that some shows can only be accessed while in Germany. ZDF should introduce a netflix like subscription for those.

Sometimes the display goes black while audio continues. Kind of buggy. :(
Would be really nice if we could download the video for viewing offline or in an airplane. Even a 24 hour window to view content would be a really really nice enhancement.
Thanks though for giving us Americans the chance to finally watch German TV.

I am a little disappointed that so many programs in your selection programming can only be viewed in Germany. If I where in Germany I would not need your app as I could watch it on TV. Little Sad, best Regards, Christel D

If you understand German you are lucky. The programming is varied, intelligent and entertaining. Their news have an inevitable German liberal mindset at best, fake at worst! But you can ignore them and keep watching. Danke.

I have been watching ZDF on Ipad with closed caption. Now I got appleTV, unfortunately there is no caption option , very disappointed.

I love the zdf Mediathek app and used to enjoy streaming it with my chromecast 2nd generation. For some reason it will not work with it since about 1 month. I even bought a new chromecast, reviewed the internet WiFi with a tech etc, called chromecast customers service etc.
It can only be the zdf app, and it also does it on the ORF app. Please fix this, I would love to change my rating!
