I know FreeFlight is very old so it may not work, just curious cause I found this old front and it needs FreeFlight to fly and it still works but I can’t fly it because FreeFlight won’t work. I click on the button and it says please connect to WiFi, which I am and I tested it and my WiFi works.

Since upgrading to iOS 8, this app crashes in mid flight constantly, causing loss of control, resulting in the drone eventually flying into something and crashing - such an unacceptable scenario that I will no longer fly my AR Drone 2.
It would appear that Parrot has ended all support for all but their newest Beebop drone. Needless to say, I'm not going to invest any more money for another drone from Parrot if they're going to end of life support on previous models so quickly.

I understand multiple people have all sorts of issues, but I'll explain mine. I'm all about app based controls. My bb-8 sphero app has worked since I bought the droid. Since I got the ar drone, FreeFlight has not worked. I probably can't even begin to understand how complicated this issue is, but you guys seem to be the only ones having an issue.

Terrible Christmas present when my child was looking forward to using this drone. Impossible to connect to Bluetooth even after downloading from Internet. Apple iPhone should've been much easier an automatic download. Sent an email to the developer in a return email said that they would get back to me within 48 hours. Unacceptable on a Christmas morning

I have been flying drones for quite some time now and my personal opinion is they dropped the ball on this one. I prefer flying with a controller as control is much more precise. Why parrot did not make this compatible with their fly pad controller is beyond me. I also have 2 bebop 1 drones and both fly awesome especially with the controller FreeFlight is terrible to try and fly this drone with and definitely not for a beginner. I am gonna just chalk this up to a bad investment and sell it I have many other drones that fly much better than this one.

every. single. time. I. use. this. app. it. crashes. I didn’t know an app could be this terrible. it never ever works correctly. I tried to watch the videos I took and it crashed every time. The setting menu is trash and gives you almost zero options to change. Using FreeFlight makes me want to cry and scream all at the same time. How has nobody fixed the issue of constant crashing yet? Advice: only download FreeFlight if it is extremely necessary or if you wanna have a mental breakdown every time you use it.

I just wanted to have some fun and fly my perfect condition AR Drone 2.0, but it is now headed for the trash can. I have an iPhone 7 with iOS 13.4 and FreeFlight has not been updated in years and now only works with iOS 9.0 or older. The wifi connected perfectly, but FreeFlight does not see the connection. So unless you want to find a devise with with an old operating system you are out of luck.

Have had drone for a month, ordered extra batteries, and had about an hour of flight time. Always kept/stored in original box. Sat for about a month, weather too windup, took out of box, charged battery, and drone would NOT FLY UP OR STRAIGHT. Contacted support, they sold me a new controller, installed and same problem! Contacted again via email and never heard from them again. Sorry I spent $300 for hour of flight. Feel free to contact me!

My words to those 5 star reviewers are either stop lying or get a better phone. I mean seriously, iOS 9.0 compatibility? I bet the phones with that are all broken down! Parrot should either update FreeFlight or add this drone to another app where you can control different drones.
Edited: Even their website doesn’t work!!!!!

So, after being grounded for a month after updating to iOS 9. AR finally catches up with this latest update (mid- October 2015). Not perfect. Now, my apple devices are prompting me to update to 9.1 and, for the first time in my "Apple life" I am scared to update.... All over this stupid, overpriced, piece of styrofoam with poor customer support and absolutely no warranty. I will continue to fly drones, but not Parrot. I'd really rather spend more money for a better, more thought out product and be able to update my IPhone and IPad at will.

I have two ar2.0 drones yesterday is the first time I had a chance to mess around with them. At first FreeFlight would connect and I could get to pilot mode and fly the thing ( it was a blast when it worked) but only 1 out of every 5 tries. Every time I connected to the Wi-Fi and would return to FreeFlight I couldn’t press any button and would be stuck on the home menu forcing me to exit the application and restart. Today however I am getting a big fat 0 out of 30- 40 tries connecting and freezing FreeFlight every time . Am I doing something wrong cause if so please help me . I am so frustrated and want to just use this thing as target practice.

While FreeFlight is still functional, and does well with my seeming ancient drone, I have come across one problem. I am unable to save flight recordings via my phone. I try to active the settings to allow ‘photos’ to access FreeFlight , but such a setting does not exist under app settings. This is probably a problem with my current iOS, but it’s alright.

The drone its self is pretty good but FreeFlight and signal to it is horrible FreeFlight also needs an update as it is very laggy and the web videos are not working.

OK it is better. It will at least run under iOS 9.x but not correctly on all devices. It works on my iPad but the display is skewed on my iPhone 4S showing only half of the right control pad.
Clearly Parrot's test procedures have a lot to be desired. Establish your test procedures, have them reviewed by an an independent group (I.e. Not your developers) then run them against all supported platforms by a third independent group.

I have had this drone now for 2 years. Needing a new battery, but as far as FreeFlight goes it needs update. I can’t connect my Facebook on iOS 11.1. I still use the drone and love to be able to link my google and Facebook accounts. Any help is appreciated.

FreeFlight works good and for those who don't know how to connect it you just go to wifi and put ar drone and then go back the FreeFlight and put piloting and then your done! FreeFlight also needs an update be used the GUi is old and sometimes doesn't work so update it! :)

Thanks for the update for a iOS9 but there are some problems. Sometimes when I browse my photos and videos it crashes. Also wifi is low when like 4 ft away and the left side of the controls isn't very responsive. I use a iPhone 5s for your information. I know I kinda sound mean and greedy about wanting more but I you guys can do better. Thanks again for the update!👍👍😀

Guys the only reason the left side doesn’t work is because it’s on tilt mode. You have to hold the button and then tilt your devise to where you want it to go. And people who can’t connect to the drone, it’s by WiFi.

App works good and so does the drone if anyone is having issues with their drone just stick a tooth pick down the reset button hole and then it works like it should, however the drone has bad connection and today it went full speed and dive-bombed straight at me with no control that was pretty scary.
by IhaveaMcharizard
It does its job, controls the drone. Not much else to say. It is rather sad they havent made the other apps, such as the ar-rescue game app compatible with ios 11 yet. And that the servers for accounts and the community are shut down. It is
understandable, however. With this drone being 8 years old. But it would be nice for the other apps to be updated to support ios 11.

Just release the flight plan option already will ya? I'm sick and tired of carying around a notebook to use QGroundControl that closes 80% of the time because of a crash and 20% because I want to close it. What kind of company are you if you sell hardware but not software so customers cand use their stuff? (I'm talking about the Flight Recorder)
by FallenPryme804
FreeFlight somehow isn't compatible with my AR Drone Parrot 2.0 🙃 It says connect to device when I am and so then I have to use my old iPhone 3gs to maneuver it. Great app and I sound cranky because I just woke up. Sorry 💤💤💤

I got my St drone for my birthday and I love it! Even though its styrofoam and not very strong, it's fun to fly but FreeFlight needs more updates but keep it up Parrot! (Btw to those who struggle getting this to work, IT USES WI-FI AND READ THE INSTRUCTIONS)
