Worth the wait - mobile BI is here!

I have been awaiting the this app platform to ready itself onto the mobile platform for quite some time ... This was worth the wait. As expected, I was connected to this app Server within seconds and not viewing ... But interacting with my Web Analytics, email, social media, and other online data (exported by MashableMetrics).

Again, great job this app team!

Terrible and Slow

This is the SLOWEST dashboard software I have ever used. Very glitchy, would not recommend for large companies. It has taken up to a WHOLE DAY or MORE to update the dashboard. What is extremely frustrating is I get paid based on when and how my data is updated in this dash. As a result, Tableau has cost me valuable time and income. It is beyond unacceptable to not be able to receive recognition or PAY simply because the application itself is so poor.

No functions for site admins

This is nice enough for viewing, but as a this app site admin it would be very nice to be able to use Tableau to do things like manage users and groups (permissions) and view site metrics, jobs, etc. I can do this on mobile web but the experience is clunky - got Tableau hoping for a smoother experience and all of these actions are entirely absent.

Tableau on the Go

Disclaimer: I am a developer of Tableau

I use Tableau to access team dashboards, mostly on my phone. The best new capability for me is the interactive offline preview feature.

Cool app but...

Great app that brings your vizzes to your mobile device in a beautiful and intuitive way but Tableau lacks web edit functionality that I think would push the use case of Tableau even further.

Great on IPad and PC.

Works well with my IPad and PC at work. Some reports do not show up on my phone.

Crap app

Absolutely terrible. Many of the graphs don’t work properly or effectively in mobile. What’s the point of having an app if you don’t render the screens correctly on mobile? Server connections frequently fail. Absolutely terrible.

The app is simply too huge

I had to remove this app from my phone since it was bigger than 2 GBs. Also, please set the font size to resize accordingly when viewed in ########

Slowest app ever.

Wait 3 min for something to populate + another 3 min once you’ve got in for it to show. 3 min to go live view. 3 min for it to change after selecting dates.

This is ridiculous. So slow.

Missing options

I can no longer access my custom view on my phone nor on the tablet since early 2019. Causes much frustration amongst the mgt team

Very difficult to navigate and lags from report to repot.
Also the reports come up with small print and are not easily printed.

Tableau Public Not Supported

Will this ever work with this app Public?

Much better with latest updates

I loved Tableau before it was updated in February 2019. That release was a big change and came with some serious issues for me. After a few cycles of updates it is much better. It remembers my login now, favorites work, and it’s pretty responsive in refreshing my reports. Glad to have the mobile experience back.

Almost there.

I am a daily user of this this app iOS app and have few things to say about it. Tableau is like a support feature for the server users who need to access their workbooks over the air frequently. Without the server license, Tableau doesn’t do any good except playing with the samples. However, there are also good things that server users will benefit from Tableau.

1) The new mobile authoring feature that enables the user to edit the workbook within Tableau is the killer feature that everyone was waiting.
2) Downloading the view by image, PDF, data or crosstab and sharing the view by either email or embedded works great.
3) The rendering speed has improved from 9 seconds to 5 seconds the view with over 10,000 rows of data.

Unfortunately, Tableau still does not support the offline with the twb or twbx files and mobile authoring does not allow editing the dashboard. Adding these two features will complete Tableau.

Long way to go...

I am a this app desktop user. I was hoping that Tableau would justify my company's investment in this app Server, but I am thus far unimpressed. As far as the UI is concerned, they have done a pretty good job. Two things, however, killed it for me.

1) They go to all the trouble of allowing me to select and view a set of data, but don't allow me to share it with anyone. An email feature, or an export to Dropbox, Numbers, Pages, etc would be excellent. I need to be able to collaborate.

2) Prohibitively slow. I (and many of the execs and sales reps in my company) are running iPad 1s (maybe the 2 is better?), and the visualizations all take a VERY long time to load, and an even longer time to filter, manipulate, etc. If I don't have the patience for the data to load, I know for a fact that other users in my company won't.

While I still think this has great potential, I'll be waiting to see improvements in the next iteration. I have faith that the this app team can deliver, but this is not it.

Touch dashboard without any extra work!

I am amazed! I just gave my boss the same dashboard on his iPad that he was using on a browser before and I didn't have to change or do anything - it just worked! Typical this app...

The iPad 2 users have better performance than my users with with ones but seems true with everything...

Nice start still a fragmented experience

This bi app seems to be slowly maturing, but still has a ways to go. The visualizations are nice and gestures fairly intuitive.

My largest complaint from previous versions still remains though. When you click on some places in Tableau it redirects you out to the browser. This creates a very fragmented user experience. At the very least you'd think this could be an in-app browser window. Also the design environment offers very limited capabilities around custom design.

Missing minor things... otherwise great

Tableau is great, it I think developers should take a fresh look at some minor things.

First and foremost is the fact that the views are NOT defaulted to "workbooks". Because the default it views, users and especially new users are quickly confused at what is going on! This should not be underestimated!

Also, I wish you would bring the concept of projects to the iPad. It is also hidden in the filters function and all we get by default is "favorites", "recent", and "all".

I think those small tweaks would make Tableau a lot less troublesome for users to consume!

Please consider these changes!!!

Love it but found a bug

I love the mobility of this app on the run, especially easy access to dashboards on my iPad in meetings. Nice improvements in how the dashboard workbooks are organized and accessed. Also, much faster processing speed! However, there seems to be a bug in that drill-downs are not working. The '+' sign doesn't show up. Can this be fixed please?
