Less accessibility!! ☹️😠
I think they upgraded the app looks nicer but I was able to do more in the app before they made the changes. For example I used to pay my bill using the app, just a few clicks and my bill were paid. Now it’s impossible; where I usually found the link to make the payment now there is like a brochure explaining how to do it in the app or online but that way never works because the app or online don’t have those options. My husband tried to do it himself using his account as he owns the policy but same problem. Now every time I want to pay I have to call costumer service, wait long time for my call to be taken and give all my payment info every time because they don’t save it. I don’t have time for that. 😠 And now I don’t see the point of having the app, cuz that was the reason that I got it for in the first place. Please make it work again !!!
Just what I expected from an insurance app
Downloaded the app after creating the account online. Couldn’t sign in and was unable to view any of my information. I was able to sign in a few days after installing the app, and the UI is horrible, it takes ten clicks just to find out what your bill is, what claims you have and if you have to go back you might as well start over. A month down the road I can’t sign in again and the app says check your internet connection. On my 5th attempt the app then says the user name is not correct, it’s the same one I always have used and it’s saved on my phone anyway, and to top it off the website is down, again, and I have to use the phone to make a payment. Come on guys get it together at least if I have to shell out the equivalent of a Mercedes payment every month you guys could make an app that does more than use up memory on my phone.
App Is Useless
I've read the issue in other reviews about no message in replies. I've had the same issue for over a year. I can send message and they receive it, but can't view their reply because no message showing. I now have 11 messages I've sent with replies, but no message to read. Even after I open the message, it still states unread. They finally sent me a secure message today through a different system and I was able to view it. It stated my app must be out of date and should update it. My reply to them is my operating system is IOS 14 and get auto updates from them. Out of curiosity, I deleted the app and reinstalled. That made no difference with the problem. Another issue with the app and website is the PDF invoices won't open to view. You can go to documents and see invoices, but when you click to view, they don't open. I've brought this to their attention several times too for more than a year. One other issue on the app and website is it will not display schedule of benefits or benefit booklet or any other details about the plan including what the name of the plan is. Ive brought this problem to their attention too quite sometime ago. Bottom line is the app is the worst app I've ever experienced. The information you can view is very general without pertinent details to help you.
Functionality is not good
I’ve had a number of apps for health insurance and this one is the worst. I have larger font on my phone and the app doesn’t allow for it so words are on top of each other. Navigating anything other than claims is useless. Additionally when ever this app updates I have to go back in and put user name and password, it never recognizes the fingerprint login. I keep apps updated and the last time this one updated and I tried to login it told me to update to a newer version.
I thought the former iteration of this app was bad. This new version is worse. The initial page “shakes” up and down making it impossible to choose an option. I tried logging into Better Strides program on app, wouldn’t work. Logged into FL Blue website, set up my Better Strides programs and logged progress. Several days later was finally able to use mobile app, it none of my logged progress I had entered on the website carried over to app. Relogged progess on app. Today tried to log in, get repetitive messages that I am not authorized user of Better Strides...what??? Tried to log in on website, website is down. Maybe FL Blue does not want to issue my $20 reward for achieving progress. Shame on FL Blue for having such a shoddy progress as I pay them many $$$$ each month for insurance. I’m sure no one at FL Blue will pay the least bit of attention to this review, it felt good to vent!
Seriously don’t even bother
Want good information about your claims and the status of your deductibles and maximums? Don’t go here! Sure, this app lets you know what your deductible and out of pocket max is (for in network) but you probably already knew that. Want it to tell you how much you’ve met? Good luck! If you can find it you’re a better man than I. You’ll also find a list of claims on here. But heaven help you if you want any of the claim notes or the full explanation of benefits. Try the print button to see if that will get you a printable EOB. Oh wait! The print button does nothing! My favorite part is where it says it doesn’t include pharmacy claims in the claims list, then gives you a link to access the full claims list, but that list still doesn’t include pharmacy claims. At the very least I can say this app is a wild ride.
TERRIBLE WASTE OF TIME
Your app is terrible and utterly useless. What’s the point of making millions possibly billions of dollars a year just to have an app that doesn’t even work! I honestly don’t understand why it takes so long to switch between plans. I shouldn’t have to switch between plans;It literally does not make any sense to switch between my dental in my health plan. When the screen finally changes to the plan that I want you can’t see anything. It seems the developers and the company only cares about the federal employee program for Blue Cross Blue Shield and the state of Michigan‘s app for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Those are the only two apps that seems to work. It is obvious that the app developers and the company didn’t put any thought process in to the other apps within the separate states. DO BETTER!!!!!!!
No bill pay option anymore?
Well go away for a month and bad things happen. I wanted to pay my premium. Used to be able to via this app. First i log in and it gives me 3 choices of plans to choose from. Never mind all three are the same plans. So i pick one and go a screen that say my browser is out of date? Huh? Isn't this a mobile app? So i ignore that popup and am given a choice of claims or account. Nothing about paying premium. I pick account. Nothing there at all about paying the premium bill. No warning that paying the premium option has been removed or that i need to go onto a computer to pay the bill. Complete failure. Does anyone really work on this app? It changes from month to month as far as functionality is concerned. Awful.
For a company that makes a ton of money I expect something far more better than this crap. You try to search for a provider and select specialist and you can’t scroll all the way to get further down the list. You can’t simply just see an invoice and print it. Constant pop up saying using a browser that isn’t supported but it is your own app. I simply want to see my bill and search for a provider and see my card. I don’t get why this is so hard. Don’t bother downloading the app. Use a regular computer. It’s been at least 3 years that they have had this junk crap app. Don’t waste your time. You may want to even try another company at the premiums they charge.
The app highlights the coverage you get, totally confused and incorrect. Called for a cardiologist after calling 20+ on the list that say they do not take the insurance. Was emailed a list of two which I couldn’t find much info about. Was happy to see the update which includes a search for a custom list. They state it is updated daily. I search specialist which was the most defined one can get in the search. For my area I got a list 628 pages long which lists doctors alphabetical! Looking for a cardiologist I tried to read through some of it. The doctors I called that don’t take this insurance are still listed in the mindless custom directory.
Subpar App with bad developers
App is not very functional. Developers refuse to comment on issues with it other than caned responses similar to a politician answering a question by talking about something unrelated. In app messaging works half the time, access billing works less than half the time and the need to use the website to do what needs to be done is the only solution most of the time. HHIPA does not apply to comments on app issues that need to be addressed but they act like it does. Entire developer staff needs to go back to school or they need to hire some high schoolers that can put an app together better than what they have given us.
This app is worthless!
I have only been able to log into the app successfully once in during my first month of use. The normal result of a login attempt is the following message on my screen: “Oops! We’re sorry. Something went wrong. Please try again. BACK”. There have been multiple updates to the app and multiple delete/reinstall with the same message. Logging into my account via a browser is successful. This issue occurs on both my iPhone 11 Pro and iPad Pro 9.7 inch with the latest iOS installed. I have to give it one star to be able to submit this review. This is a zero star app.
Dragging your feet
Fixing this app doesn’t seem to be a priority for this company. I feel this company is along advantage of its customers. It’s been over a year and nothing is fixed! Same problems. Why so long? Obviously they don’t care about there customers or they would have fixed it! CEOs get here bonuses but they cut corners in other departments. Seriously over a year nothings changed. If I counted the time wasted on this app and calling customer service over all the issues with Florida Blue I’d have over 18 hours this year. Quit wasting every ones time and money fix this !
Nice looking but doesn’t work well
When trying to find a doctor in the are and choosing specialists you are then only allowed to scroll as far as “dentist” the rest of the menu is unviewable, if you wanted to see any specialist on list that falls alphabetically past “dentist” you might as well forget it. I have informed customer support several times that this is option is useless on my iPad using app, but it is never fixed.
What happened... just bad.
It’s like they completely forgot to finish it. There are errors and missing info everywhere. Very disappointed to see this with a big insurance company. I guess it’s useful just to put your id in your phone’s wallet.
