I never waisting my money and time for SpareRoomUS, I subscribe for two weeks 20$,all the people sent the massage for me they all have a mess situation, one of them asked rent for 3 person in small room, one of them she haven’t even job and she insisted to much every day I wanna move in with you. in two weeks I didn’t find anyone in SpareRoomUS and funniest thing is when you’re membership wants be cancel few hours before a receiving a lot of fake massages in app and they say I’m really interested it’s funny they don’t recognize people are not stupid it’s so obvious it exactly the same happened in both weeks, and just for this week I wanted try them and before they cancel my membership I wrote for them my phone number 4-5 hours before cancellation, but they didn’t answer and they didn’t calle or text me and from spareroom they sent me email before visiting people don’t trust them , guys just believe me you can’t finding anyone here 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

I've found some really mature, focused, success driven, clean, polite, liberal male roommates with a calm energy from SR! I love that there is a profile that *if* filled out gives me a vibe for compatibility, which saves us both time. I don't like when people try to circumvent the whole process and just call me up, having no profile, like this is the Holiday Inn. It's not. It's my home and I live here safely too. Caio

The interface to SpareRoomUS is honestly absolutely horrible. I’m helping my little brother relocate and I’m in awe of how little sense SpareRoomUS makes. For an app that charges so much, I’ve gotten absolutely nothing out of it. I posted an ad and it’s disappeared somehow. It doesn’t allow proper filtering, for ex. he has a pet but needs to find a home that doesn’t have any. Another problem is that it only gives the option of counties, or major cities and it doesn’t allow you to search in a decently wide area so you’re unable to search an entire state in the US but they’re merging with the SpareRoomUK? So I can search in 2 countries but not a single state? Senseless all around. It was a waste of money.

I put a long description for the room I was offering and I was straight to say I was a Christian Catholic. 90% of the people who wrote to me were Christians and appreciated that I identified as one. So finally one of them is ready to sign contract with me and had no problems with all the rules I had.

Review review is great for people that are struggling to find a place fast it certainly help me and my family I was staying in Southern California for my job while my wife and kids were moving up north to get the house ready this allowed me to find a place to stay within a week

I trust really no sites like this one. However I swear by SpareRoom. SpareRoom is the only site that I know runs background checks with applications. They also make sure to verify everyone that posts in order to weed out anyone suspicious and any suspicious behaviors. I highly recommend SpareRoom

Another app, you have to pay to use unfortunately.. I was down to try it but I hate wasting memory and time on these apps. They should just charge a fee to begin with rather than you download first then cant use it without upgrading! Only gave it two stars because easy login. Plus layout doesnt seem to complicated. Dont waste yout time, if you really need a place to stay. Anyone have any recommendations on best app to find a place to stay ? Im looking for 1 bdr or roommate situation...

I’m not even going to lie.. SpareRoomUS is probably the best app I have used in regards to searching for a roommate. All the other apps are scammy, either by the company or win the sheet amount of fake listings. I would recommend SpareRoomUS to someone looking to rent out a room. They also have “speed-roommate” events also.

Not intuitive at all, they are putting other stuff at the forefront and also spamming with emails as soon as you sign up. Uploading profile photo doesn’t work - when I am asked if I want to give permission to SpareRoomUS to access my photo library, I allow it and SpareRoomUS gets stuck, doesn’t open the photos nor does anything. Nobody uses this to find a room obviously, waste of time. Will stick to craigslist.

App works, however, people that are looking to share apartments or homes are extremely bias, racists and place people of certain groups/color in a exclusion list. That’s unfortunate for how far America has traveled away from ignorance only to know hatred still defines this nation.

App doesn’t have many to none listings in smaller cities to towns. I didn’t discover many houses for renting finish basements etc. And this is true for all of these types of apps.

I gave it two stars for effort.

She’s so sweet and kind and smart and beautiful. I was just looking for a roommate but I found someone I want to spend the rest of my life with. I guess SpareRoomUS doesn’t work for everyone but I’ll always be grateful for it.

This is the best and most useful app I’ve used so far. It has lots of great features and many filter options, all it’s missing is more exposure and users. Good luck!

SpareRoomUS itself is not half bad, it keeps communication in one location. The down side is I have check for new inquires in the web site or my email account. After I communicate with someone the then updates the messages to reflect the new person I just contacted. Very frustrating. Another con, not enough information about who is trying to rent from me? No picture or other details to see if their profile is a fit.

The website was less confusing. If you’re trying to just scroll through apartments then Roomi or roomster might be better — or for finding the actual person to live with I liked Circle for Roommates. This tried to do a lot and on an app that was tough. Website was better!

SpareRoomUS itself is an absolute joy to view and instills a brief sense of confidence that you “might” find a room or roommates. The beguiling look makes it seem like it’s working but it offered no substantial solution to my problem. Luckily for me being the go getter I am, managed to get what I wanted in a city aching to crush you. So I’ll give SpareRoomUS one star for looking slick and one for the sense of confidence it instilled.

I have been on spare room for years now and not once have I found a decent person on SpareRoomUS. There are very strange people w creepy pictures, majority only able to afford $400-$600/mo which is alarming being that LA is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Rarely does anyone respond, I believe 90% are scammers. Pick another app is my advice. Don’t waste time or money on this one.

SpareRoomUS works u find some great ppl on SpareRoomUS if your honest. Ppl will give you a chance. Best app too find a room

This crooked operation charges and takes your money without explicit permission. I watched it “renew” an ad without me having done a thing.

Not only this, but most of the replies appear to be fakes, like what you would find on a fraudulent dating service filled with fake profiles.

I went and placed a good old classified ad and got many times more real people than through tbis British fraud scheme.

A woman who posted a room ad somehow figured out where I walk to work along with what time I would walk. She also figured out where I go to the gym, what time I go to the gym, and then appeared in my yoga class at that gym twice! She appeared at two classes. At first I didn’t know that that was her (she stuck out because she was the only other black woman in the class) until the second class and then it hit me that this is the same woman from the spare room app (profile photo) and the sidewalk on my way to work. She caused me no physical harm, but it was weird and creepy that she was able to locate me from SpareRoomUS . I don’t know how; the only thing I can think of is that she took my profile pic and somehow figured out who I was and then my routine. I think SpareRoomUS is great but I also think that there are some concerns that you might want to address with it because the fact that she was able to figure out what time I walk to work and where I walk to work, and then where I go to the gym and what time I go to the gym is quite concerning. I think you should definitely make the effort to notify your customers of the possibility of this and what they can do about it.

SpareRoomUS runs smoothly, there are many various safety features (you can block/delete/report creeps, and also filter for age and gender). So far the filters all function properly and there are many options to fit your lifestyle, and plenty of listings!
I’ve only given 5 stars bc I’ve had it for one day- if it continues to run smoothly and exceed expectation, I’ll come back and bump it up!

Hey, i look some of rooms in SpareRoomUS but I’m very disappointed because first SpareRoomUS need money to send message to room owner, then after pay the room owner have lot of requirements. Some of owners doesn’t reply, i waste my 10 dollars for 7 day messaging. On the other side there is not enough rooms to deal. I’m sorry

I paid for the premium feature and then SpareRoomUS banned me after 5 minutes for sending my phone number to someone to contact me??? Of course you need to exchange contact info to rent a place.
I want my money back or will continue to spread what a scam your app is.

A lot of the people on here are looking for white or Asian people so if your black it will take longer to find something on here.
