There is none better…

I’ve been a customer for years… my parents were have before me, and still are. There are companies that say they are like family…, but not so much when it counts. But here? These people at My bank truly do go out of the way to make sure you are treated with the utmost care…, understanding (if you have a hiccup) and To use a current day phrase… “good lookin out”. They are as proactive as possible to insure your accounts are square and safe. I even moved to the west coast for 10 years with no branch anywhere near where I was. And still I couldn’t justify swapping banks. With online banking the way it is there was no difference in my life -even so far away. And that’s saying something because I’m not the most wealthy person on the planet and they treat me like a millionaire… I just want to say !’

Changes

None of us do well with change. We love things to remain the same, but unfortunately they do not. I’ve been through many changes with this bank. I have banked here for over 25 years. I was with them when they were Farmers Exchange Bank in Riverside. The folks that run that branch are the best.
If you are experiencing a little withdrawal, no pun intended, from the recent change from Bank Liberty to Central Bank, then give it some time. It’s like starting anything new, there’s going to be a learning curve. Give those good people behind the counter a chance. They’re doing their best to serve us.

New App Update HORRIBLE

The new app update makes reconciling an account to any outside accounting software a nightmare. The old style was a quick look and see it all, the new style only shows date at the top, so you have to scroll up to see what the date on payment is, the pending and cleared charges are all mixed up and make reconciling checking accounts horrible... the best thing that can happen to CentralBank update is they re-release their archived app and go back to the way it was. The new app may be okay for someone that uses CentralBank without keeping track of their money and just wants a snapshot of their account, but if you like to track your account with multiple card holders (wife, kids, etc.), then the way CentralBank is made is horrible. I think I am going to have to log into the website, print the ledger, and then highlight to mark off each item during reconciling process the old fashioned way. Horrible!

Algorithm is the worst part.

While CentralBank is simple and easy to use, i hate the algorithm with a burning passion. After a certain point of “suspicious purchases,” it locks you out of your checking account. While I can understand this is a security measure to prevent fraud and the like, there have been way too many instances where I have been out to purchase something (I don’t carry cash on me) and I have been unable to use my account when the money is in my checking CLEAR AS DAY. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED OR OPTIONAL. Each “purchase” that has been deemed suspicious has been made by myself alone and I’m tired of having it read back to me through customer service. It also happens when it’s CONVENIENTLY a holiday or a weekend, so calling customer service is useless until the start of the weekday.

Good App

CentralBank all in all is good. They have done several improvements and upgrades since I first downloaded CentralBank about three years ago. The only thing I wish they would add is being able to deposit a check via CentralBank . The closet Central Bank location to where I live now is about 25 minutes away and where I work is in the completely opposite direction of a banking location. Sometimes I will hand onto a check for months before being able to deposit it. If mobile check depositing was added that would be amazing, that’s the only reason I don’t give CentralBank a 5 star review.

So helpful

I was in the market to open a new checking account and went by the St Charles location and the staff went above and beyond to open and print my card on the spot and tell me about CentralBank for my phone to track everything in real time . I feel like I have been banking there my entire life . From Mr . Steinhoff to the manager Victoria and a young lady named Brittney even during this out break scare it was all done in the drive thru. Such a great experience I will recommend this bank and branch to anyone I hear looking for a new bank .

Horrible bank that forced me to close my account

I had tens of thousands of dollars in my account that I was using to run my business. At one point, I made a deposit of about a couple thousand from a bank via a check. The status of my account at the other bank had changed with my knowledge, so the check didn’t clear. Suddenly, central bank’s fraud department flagged my account and froze it. No one told me. I couldn’t log in and was confused. I had to contact several representatives to figure out what was going on. Instead of unfreezing my account, they told me they’ll close it and that they would hold on to several thousand dollars of my money for a month before closing out entirely, even though I did nothing wrong. I was livid. I’ve never been so disrespected.

Works. Secure. Convenient.

I love that it’s not buggy and is secure. Can check my credit cards and checking to keep an eye on things. Banking at home is a breeze. Zelle peer to peer payment system is built into CentralBank is replacing Venmo and PayPal for my payment method. Instantly shows up in my account. Mobile deposit saves me a trip to the bank if I happen to get a check. Easy to set up monthly transfers to savings and redeem credit card points for $100 MasterCard gift cards. I highly recommend Central Bank!

Good Bourgeois Propaganda

This is a great bank, yet if this is my bank then there should be better aid that is helping people actually survive. The purpose of banks are to make money for the working class. We want to organise and provide for the community. As a construction worker, my job is to build homes for everyone and let them live there free of debt. How are our banks accomplishing this? Since we know money is fake and those who have the power to print it we should be constructing banks to organise the workforce. Thanks for a great app workers!

Home loan

I just recently went through the process of purchasing my first home and I had the extreme privilege to work Adrianne Smith in the loan department at the Main Bank location near downtown Branson. She went above and beyond to help me through this process. She walked through everything with me every step of the way and helped me understand all the little details. I would highly recommend working with Adrianne if you are looking to purchase a home.

Some Branches

The Branch in Vandalia is very unprofessional, Inappropriate the way the worded their communication with customers. Keep adding charges to a elderly woman’s account when she did not know what was going on otherwise she would have fixed it. Cruel is the word and Cold. I would also say discrimination. For a person to question someone who is already on the account I answered 5 to 6 security questions.

CentralBank is so easy to use. You can track every financial decision you make with the history options. The best part by far though would have to be the Zelle feature which allows you to transfer money into anyone else’s account within seconds/minutes!

Upgraded Banking

I recently switched from a bank in my hometown that did not offer as much online access or mobile access to my account. The added convenience is worth so much and it just makes life a little more simple when you are working full time and weekends. Hands down best experience I’ve had with a finance company to date.

I normally go to 500 Madison Street location, however when I need to check a quick balance I can log in instantly with fingerprint recognition. I transfer money and do mobile deposit as well. App seems to always be working without any issues. It’s a game changer when you can’t get to a brick and mortar bank.

Only possible improvement would be a PIN entry instead of fingerprint login. I only say that because my fingerprint scanner is broken. Everything within CentralBank is fantastic and incredibly handy though. One of my most used apps.

Very Intuitive

CentralBank is easy to use. I just log in with my fingerprint and then I have access to view all of my account balances and recent activity. I am also able to search for specific transactions, view net worth, retirement analysis, and more. Transferring money is simple and quick. 10/10

Over Complicated

There are so many possible screens, they should just get rid of the bottom tab. It’s pretty useless. Put everything there that’s not already in it in the drop down menu. Get rid of the back and forth arrow. Also useless. Put less info on one screen, and increase text size. Make it look like an current app, not some outdated app waiting for an update.

Depositing by mobile is a joke

I have tried numerous times to deposit checks by using the mobile app. I have managed to make a deposit exactly once. I tried again today and it kept telling me that my picture wasn’t good enough. The picture was perfect, clearly readable, the entire check was pictured and it was sharp and distinct. So if your goal is to deposit checks by mobile, forget it. Go somewhere else. I would give it zero stars, but it won’t let me. Surprise surprise.
