Mostly good

Update. I just spent over an hour trying to update my firmware, changed my password. I finally got password changed but it will not accept it with a this app service. I can only get into the new fancy reporting feature. What does it matter if I want to report what I make, if I can’t make any money with this darn thing!

FYI, it worked fine yesterday when I tested it. It’s the weekend updates that are going to make me go to square

This works pretty well most of the time. One rather large issue I have is they do their updates on Fridays. I need Payanywhere on Saturday mornings. If I am not near a trusted Wi-Fi. It will not work until I update, and I cannot update without Wi-Fi. I have been caught on several occasions without ability to take charges simply because of this. I am now in the habit of checking Saturday morning before I leave, but you know what? Sometimes it’s hard to make that much time. It would be such a simple thing to either alert the users via text or email that there is an update coming, or allow someone to use the 2nd oldest version if it’s not updated. I do think the customer service part of the service is really good. I did notice the most, positive, recent reviews were all dated in early December….

Great support system

Besides having one of the lowest rates, when issues develop with software or hardware, the support team has been conscientious, helpful and efficient. It’s one of the reasons I’ve remained with this company for over 10 years. They’ve included the hardware at no cost as well, allowed me to choose the plan that best fits my seasonal business and worked to correct things when clearly things weren’t my fault. The problems experienced, have much to do with technology itself and isn’t necessarily indigenous to this company. What I would like to see is a better flow of year end reports indicating clear accumulative fees, total sales tax collected, all in a transparent meaningful content. Currently I need to calculate each month’s statements against my bank account deposits. Seems redundant and not reflective of today’s efficiency in technology.

Unreliable and difficult to work with

New update is not easier. My day is filled with little stressors because my application and card reader do not connect. I have to log out of Payanywhere , log back in, and hope that it is connecting with the card reader. The new card reader is Bluetooth and the reliability is about 30% that it connects. I’m using an iPad. I put in manually half of the time because the card reader doesn’t work and I get flak when I call and tell them that it’s their software that’s the issue. I have to fight to get the percentage back for putting it in manually when it was their software that was the issue. There have been times when I haven’t gotten money back over this and I’m tired of the daily stressors. I’ve had this company for a couple of years and it is never been smooth. They try to hide the fees and don’t give out a monthly report. It’s very hard to find out how much they’re taking. My bookkeeping is clean I need reports, It doesn’t seem like they want to make my life easier… They’re more interested in hiding their fees from me.

Satisfied

I am a super small business ( spa) and I have been using this app for almost nine years now. I have been happy with them so far and couple of times when I was confused about nee card reader they helped immediately. I give four stars instead of five because I do not like changes and I feel like lately not only they have updated more often but also every update on the application comes with changes. How they leave a tip, where do they sign, why doesn’t it save the email address even though they put it there last time as well.? Little things like this that for older people make a difference. But I am happy with the service and I never had problems like other companies with outing a hold on my account or stuff like that.

There is definitely a room for improvement

I can definitely say that it’s the best CS of all PPS out there. It is easy and convenient to run transactions and have never had a single issue with a deposit since I became a customer in 2015.
With that being said, their invoicing system is one of the worse in the market, my customers become frustrated when their address doesn’t match and to run it from my end with just their info on file is a nightmare since there is no way to pull it from my end.
There is endless flaws with the invoicing system and I hope they can reach out to their customers for feedback. I love this company and want it to succeed but unless they improve their invoice system, they won’t be very competitive.

Grrrr! To Purrr!

My quilt guild has used Pay Anywhere to process credit card payments for a variety of purposes.

In June, I had a less than stellar experience, and posted a negative review. Since changing CC processing providers would be a painful experience, I decided to invest some unencumbered time to try to get it working correctly, preferably with the Bluetooth reader. (I hate the audio jack version)

What I found is that the pop-up instructions to connect the reader in your Bluetooth settings is misleading - at least as far as my Apple devices go (iPhone 6s and iPad Mini 4).

On either of my devices, you have to go into the Pay Anywhere app settings to establish the connection.

All that said, for the June meeting, I was able to connect my iPad Mini to the Bluetooth reader, and other than having a one-sided argument with Payanywhere over the presence of a chip on a card (it was well disguised) it behaved perfectly and swiftly as well.

This camper is happy once again.

Long time user.

I’ve been using Payanywhere since it was a different name. Some of the problems may be due to banking regulations. Other problems are app related. I have a Bluetooth chip reader. It rarely works. Customer support says to delete app and reinstall. Reader works for one transaction then fails. I do most transactions manually. The rate is higher for this type of sale, so no incentive to fix. I can do several sales a day. Payanywhere has a short cut log in but if you use it cards get declined. Force quit app and re enter email and password to process transaction. I spend several minutes processing every sale. The rate is fair. I’ve tried other merchant services and they are more costly. Overall frustrating to use but rates are good. I hope over time bugs get worked out.

Works for me

I have been using this app for a few years now and primarily use it for the credit card reader. I had some account issues in the past where inactivity may result in a payment freeze but that seems to be a security measure for our and their protection. I also experienced issues in the past with the card reader failing to sync or remain synced with Payanywhere .
Their updates and fixes within the last 18 months have really made reliability, ease of use, speed and convenience a strong point. I will continue to use Payanywhere and reader as I have no reason to use anything else.

Great app

The nice thing about this app is the support you get from using Payanywhere . I used Square for three years until a sales agent approached me about using this app. At first, I didn’t want to change because I was so used to Square but when the rep told me I didn’t have to pay the merchant processing fee anymore with this app because it has a cash discount feature, I made the switch and couldn’t be happier. Not only can I call someone if I have an issue but I no longer have to pay the fee that Square charges which is well above the 2.75% they fraudulently advertise. Wish I had used this app from the beginning!

Very useful
I love that Payanywhere does so much more than you expect - being able to take payments and view transactions has made using my mobile readers that much easier and allowed me to seriously take my business on the go. For the longest time we had to invoice our customers and hunt them down for payments but now I can take it right on the spot and Payanywhere allows me to keep track of my sales and monitor my business from LITERALLY anywhere. they mean it when they say pay anywhere. anywhere at all.

issues resolved!!!

I have a large event sunday and haven't used my account in almost a year- so it kept giving me issues and i was unable to log in. I called a few times and got the uninstall and reinstall spiel. emailed— getting nervous I called again- I got sent to Customer Care then onto a Manager- without asking and understanding my urgency - he pushed it all through to IT and had in working within hours!!! I am ever so Thankful for their customer care and him for helping me!! each time I received an email trail, of why i called and what they suggested- which I liked! GREAT JOB! This Client is Happy!!!

Best for small portable business

Have had Payanywhere & account for many years, lots of newer features & reports too. Love being able to let my customers be able to buy more because of ability to process a CC on the spot. But company needs to get their CC chip readers out in more stores too. A few glitches on this updates, but always fixed later. And my deposit in 2-3 days. Reports not showing up. Please find a better way to get more security without me having to log in and get multiple verification meathods.

Great app!

Had Payanywhere for years and have had no problems getting paid. I don’t know what all the negative reviews are for. Either their plain old stupid users or just want to put down a good provider. I’ve had no problems with customer service and get all my emails answered. Every app in the world has glitches sometimes. I use Payanywhere every day and love it and so don’t my customers. If you can add 2+2 you can use Payanywhere easily. It’s safe and secure. I recommend them. Now let me make some more money! See ya!

Poor card reader.

I have done everything they say to do and it works once and then won’t connect. I have used this app for a number of years and there has been no improvement. I work remotely much of the time so a regular machine is not possible. I just switched to PayPal Here and it is flawless! Have had no problems and I’ve run almost 100 transactions. They charge a bit more but when I have a line of people waiting to pay it’s worth it to pay a bit more for convience. Not to mention, when you manually have to key in the sale you pay more and it’s a hassle!

PayAnywhere

I have been using this application for 6 years now and it is constantly improving. I have used other apps before but the processing fees are too high. They actually do have a customer support agent to call, not like other apps. The chip cards occasionally are not able to be read but my agent support specialist is always there to help me out.

I have faith that all the bugs that need to be fixed will be taken care of soon and Payanywhere will be rated a lot higher than it currently is.

This allows me to accept credit card payments, but It doesn’t allow me to go back and access any transactions except the last one.

I haven’t used it in a while, but before I thought it allowed me to actually write up a bill with what was bought and I don’t find that now.

I need to be able to track my transactions. Oh, and my card reader doesn’t seem to work anymore.

Cheaper Than Square!

We were contacted by a local company and they told us about this app as we were currently using Square and they had just raised their rates. We were hesitant but so glad we made the switch! It has saved us so much money and also start using the cash discount feature so now we are saving even more. We are using it in a coffee shop, my only complaint is I wish it had gift cards or some type of loyalty built in

Rates!!!

According credit cards was an obstacle my business was facing and fees were a big concern - the rates are great and the service is outstanding. Now that we have the ability to take cards we are seeing more action in our business than ever before and we are growing every day thanks to this upgrade. No Surprises

Proactively lets subscribers know if any issues are amiss so we are not surprised. Love that extra mile. And if there are incidents which cannot be helped, like this one time that I think there was a bug wherein Payanywhere was not allowing me to back out of the Express Sale screen from my iPhone when it was set as the default sale option, they were very quick in addressing the concern.

Made us look great!

We are a small catering service and we landed a big gig but client will only pay through credit card. We had to think quick, got Payanywhere, able to use to so quickly and easily and did not lose the client! We looked like a proper business and didn't have to wait weeks to get paid through usual check!

Trustworthy point of sale

I have been very wary of using credit cards in my shop as I have heard horror stories of how some have lost money. A friend told me she even experienced losing $500 bue to processing fees after the system made an error. I was okay not having a point of sale system as well because I am a small business business but I hade to keep up with times. Of you have to trust an app, this is it.

New update has screwed up taxes!

I have been happy with the functionality of Payanywhere until their recent update in feb 2018. It will not calculate tax correctly. It does not add the decimal in. We should be 5.3% but it only does 5.0%. This seems like a no brainer fix (I used chat yesterday to try to resolve and she had to put in an IT ticket). Also the update is supposed to incorporate 2 factor authentication but it doesn't seem to use it. I hope they can fix this quick because I liked it until now.

So far so good

This has been a huge a huge help in my business. Other hand left a bad test in my mouth after I had to go through a whole lot of requirements to process things after they put a hold in my transactions making my business come to a halt. Pay anywhere has not given me any headaches so for.

Better than the others

I was initially hesitant to use this system for my merchant services. A friend insisted that this is more customer friendly than the one I was using as it has a cash feature. I tried this and was very happy that I did. I have since switched to this app. Think of doing the same too.

SHADY AND INEFFICIENT CUSTOMER SERVICE

It took me changing banks to realize they were charging me alot for cards that weren't punched in but were used with chip . 2.69% plus bs fees . When I changed banks it took almost a month to be able to close the account down to switch over . Emailed a few times and called four or five times . TG hey are in the east coast and are never available on California time to help . DONT USE !!! Took over one month to have you updated my bank have pictures if you wanna see how long it took you guys ! Worst service ever ! Rather pay more than use such poor customer service !

Bluetooth

It keeps disconnecting using Bluetooth. I have to constantly go to settings within Payanywhere every time it gets disconnected. It should be paired once, not every 30 minutes

After of weeks of trying to find a solution to the disconnection problem, I found it. Need to go to pin settings and chose not to time out immediately, chose any other time. Timeout immediately shouldn’t be the default and is the reason is getting Bluetooth disconnected. Hopefully this help someone.

Offline transactions

It works without fail with great signal but there was an instance where our area had a black out and l had customers in line. So what was awesome was that during that down time, i was still able to save the transactions for later processing so i did not lose any business.
