App needs consistency and updating

There is an option on AetnaWorkAbility that says you can access your ID cards offline. When I tried to set this up, it asks for a PIN. I tried to set my PIN up, and it kept saying it was the wrong PIN, however, I had never set up a PIN in the first place. I emailed the customer support, and was told that the ID cards cannot be accessed offline and that I would need to save the documents. So there is no consistency between AetnaWorkAbility and customer support. If customer support doesn’t realize how AetnaWorkAbility is set up then how am I supposed to get any true help? Also, I am unable to download the ID cards to my phone off AetnaWorkAbility . Only way would be to screenshot, and with thousands of photos on my phone it would take a lot of time to look up those screenshots. AetnaWorkAbility just needs a lot of work and with a large insurance company like this, they should be able to afford a good IT person to fix it.




Can’t use a secure password manager = can’t even log in

It won’t let you paste your password into the login form, so if you use a secure password manager like LastPass, you cannot log in. For some reason, banks and insurance companies think that disabling paste is a “security feature.” It’s not. If you switch between apps to try to see your password and type it in manually, every time you switch back to the Aetna app, it deletes everything you’ve typed. So if you can’t memorize your whole password and type it in all at once, you cannot log in. I tried to type feedback into their feedback form, but that didn’t work either! It wouldn’t let me enter text into the form. AetnaWorkAbility is unusable. As soon as I submit this review, I’m going to delete AetnaWorkAbility .




Horrible App

AetnaWorkAbility 's "find care" feature is somehow totally disconnected from Aetna's website search feature, as I found absolutely awful results on AetnaWorkAbility but found great results on the website. Reviews on doctors and practices help a lot but sadly a lot of the ones in my area have terrible reviews- not the apps fault though. I just can't seem to find a simple therapist for depression using AetnaWorkAbility, please update/fix the "find care" feature. Also when I typed in "therapist" it forced me to select either "massage therapist", "physical therapist", or "occupational therapist" which is annoying, so I selected "occupational therapist" but then i couldn't narrow it down any further? Like I need a therapist for depression but I wasn't able to search specifically for that? Please fix.




Does Aetna care?

Does Aetna care that they are contributing to poor mental health. I feel like I am trying to access a 56k dial up server. I have to keep opening and closing to get basic functions to work. The stress makes my condition worse and I am at my end.

I don’t think the programmer has any clue what they are doing, or are someone’s child that is in a learning internship for the project. It mostly functions. If I could cancel my Aetna insurance through my work to find a company that actually cares, I would switch in a heartbeat. Seriously, if you are okay with providing half baked tools, how well can one really be at helping their customers. I work for a company that doesn’t care about the customers, but at least our apps work.




Buggy, Crashes

AetnaWorkAbility - WHEN it works - is great! Well organized (still needs more data features added!) and can quickly tell you the status of a claim. LOVE the quick, color pages/by category!
That said, it often crashes on an iOS (8 and 6), and the fingerprint login stops working if they have done an “update” - or stops working randomly for no reason at all.
WORST OF ALL - cannot reinstate fingerprint login (have to MANUALLY LOGIN EVERY TIME!), unless you completely delete app and then re-install.
Better than being told by Aetna “Customer Service” to NOT USE a mobile device (?!?!) and use a laptop to be able to login. Please HIRE more IT staff. Sounds like they are overworked!




Hard to search for doctors...

It’s ok...it would do in a pinch but I’m trying to search for a lactation consultant and it only gives me the first 5 or 6 (and 3 of those are the same person at different addresses) with no option to keep lookin down the list. I just spoke with someone from the insurance who said there are about 30 in my area but it doesn’t pull up on AetnaWorkAbility . Guess I’ll have to search on my laptop but the whole reason for AetnaWorkAbility is so I can search on the go if necessary. So it’s not the end of the world but could be better!




Terrible User Interface

Aetna, please fix this application. Constant updates but AetnaWorkAbility freezes and has bugs throughout the user experience. Want to check messages? Nope, AetnaWorkAbility freezes and requires a hard restart. Want to use the message feature regarding a specific claim? Nope, an error message pops up saying there is a network issue—how am I on your app viewing claim info if I’m not on a network?? Want to use the search feature for local providers who perform a procedure? Nope, search functionality is worthless. Please invest in AetnaWorkAbility, an intuitive solution would cut down on user frustration, which I’m sure gets passed on to your call center.




Have to update every time I open the app

I’m happy that AetnaWorkAbility exsists. I’m annoyed that there are so many mandatory updates. Every time I want to show my insurance card even if I want to look offline I have to update. It’s soooo annoying. Also I downloaded the insurance card to my iPhone wallet and only a simple form went. I wish that the entire card would go so that I don’t have to update every time. When I check in at the doctor and need to show my insurance card I have to say “hold on I’ve got to update my app AGAIN”




Ordering Rx's

Works pretty good. Was able to see my Rx's ordered last 18 mos. I don't find an option to auto fill them but maybe it's because they expired and needed to contact doc. Did not get email confirmation that docs would be contacted after waiting several hours. App said I had not chosen that option which is not accurate. I get emails all the time about Rx's ~ maybe it means text notices, but they have my cell # too ~ it's just not clear. Like the website, the Rx feature needs work. Have not used other features.




Very slow, when it works at all

When first opened, AetnaWorkAbility gives a blank screen except for two little buttons at the bottom- one that looks like a fingerprint (and has no effect), and an arrow pointing back. When I tap the back arrow, I’m presented with a login screen, despite logging in many times previously and making quite sure that the “use TouchID to log in” setting is turned on. Then if the login actually works instead of timing out, some of AetnaWorkAbility ’s actions cause it to crash, others frequently time out and give errors, and others (like the doctor finder) seem to give worse results than the website.




Freezes constantly

AetnaWorkAbility can't do a single thing right after the recent update. Hangs on practically each screen. Touch ID registration fails and hangs up. Pressing home button - hangs up. Aetna won't issue a physical id card despite multiple requests. Looks like they have completely stopped reissuing id cards and rely on AetnaWorkAbility to provide id cards. If AetnaWorkAbility too doesn't work, what are we supposed to do?

Also, when an update is available for AetnaWorkAbility but you haven't installed it, AetnaWorkAbility refuses to open. What an I supposed to do? Update AetnaWorkAbility at the doctor's office on cellular connection and keep every one waiting?




Needs to be updated!

Every time I log in, I only get one option to choose from which is to view my claim. Once I select that, it tells me there is an error so I would have to delete AetnaWorkAbility and re-download it again then have to set a pin # all over. It’s very inconvenient to have to do this every time I need to log in. Please get this fixed ASAP or look into it so that we can have an easier time accessing our account. All I had to do today was upload a document that would usually take me minutes to do but instead spent more time trying to log in and reset PIN number.




Find Care needs Improvement

So I wanted to see if I would have care abroad.
To my dismay the find care feature is seriously lacking in that Dept. AetnaWorkAbility builders catered well for the US but if you’re international say in Africa or Europe you have to use the desktop.
My gripe with the current app is how slow it is and the fact it keeps crashing or freezes.
Please fix the location finder when searching for care. expand the parameters to not just selecting zip codes but being able to choose countries because your customers travel and it would be awful if I couldn’t find a hospital.




This app needs fixed

Every single time I want to use AetnaWorkAbility I have to delete and reinstall it if I use the PIN or FACE ID. If I decide not to set them up I have to log in with my user id and password every single time and it asks you to set up the passcode or face Id every time. If you accept, next time you log in with the PIN OR FACE ID, you will get the error AetnaWorkAbility isn’t working when your click on the work disability tab. Please for goodness sakes fix AetnaWorkAbility. This has gone on way too many months. It’s very frustrating. I though your latest update would’ve taken care of it and it surely did not.




Worst possible application

This is a useless dysfunctional app. I have not been able to access my account from AetnaWorkAbility for over 2 months and when I did it was not working properly. The times it did work, it required an update, which in just 2 weeks failed to work again. I can’t login, doesn’t even go to the login screen. Neither the touch or passcode is possible to use for access. You would think a huge insurance company would spend the resources necessary to give their clients a smooth experience — I mean they charge us an arm and a leg. Hire someone to fix this!
