I just wasted my time doing a project, and when emailing it to a teacher, it is either a very poor quality JPEG, or a 5mb crappy PDF file that shows up blurry and pixelated on the computer. Totally useless app. Can’t believe I actually paid money for this.

Popplet ended up completely useless. The only export options give you low-res jpg/ pdf files that are unreadable. I was going to use it to help outline a novel and hoped to export as a jpg that I could then import into Scrivener. But since the text is completely blurred, that's not possible. Utter garbage.

Bought this when they had 10 free boards on the web app. Stole those away with no grandfathering. Pretty despicable behavior!

It is very difficult to use it, so I don't use it more.

Why!?!?

I downloaded Popplet because the online version kept timing out. I get all my info plugged in and Popplet version does the same thing. I can’t even get back in to see if the information is still there. My internet connection is strong. How can I complete the project if Popplet won’t even work properly.

pros:

this is one of the most useful applications ever made for any stage of creative or organizational processes. i use it nearly every day. the staff is really friendly and enthusiastic, and when they actually communicate, they do it well. they are very receptive to user feedback. i truly support them as a company and want this app to succeed. but...

cons:

- lost user data in a huge server snafu
- site goes down intermittently with no ETA. meaning if you are in the middle of a project and use a synced online this app for work, TOO BAD, you're out of luck. so basically you can't use this app for anything important.
- if you stay logged in but lose network connectivity, this app acts normally but you're actually not saving any data. so you might keep working for an hour, close Popplet , launch it again, and all your changes are gone.
- erratic support for user issues, very little outreach, mostly only reactive behavior

that's my big problem. it's this amazing product that seems to need better prioritization. who cares about internationalization and icing on the cake features if I can't even rely on it as a service?

i will seriously pay $$$, a subscription fee, whatever (at minimum, the cost of omnigraffle, which i no longer use) to fund development if it guaranteed support priority or server reliability. I am certain other users would as well.

As a teaching tool, this application blows other mind mapping apps out of the water. However it's biggest weakness, lack of support for multiple languages, is also it's most undesirable point. Popplet will be very unsuccessful if it is marketed outside the US because of it's lack of multiple language support. I am currently using Popplet for learning Japanese and would like to see Japanese language support. So work harder and expand on Popplet in your next up date.

Popplet seems to function properly and does what it says. I have used this app online so I am familiar with the service. $4.99 is a bit much for Popplet . I would say it is worth $2.99 in its current state. I just don't know why there has to be local and online popplets... Why cant the company figure out how to sync the two? Also, the last update was supposed to fix the retina graphics, but Popplet does look as clear as other apps with retina optimization. But, the touch input is nice and accurate. Good app for brainstorming and mind map style layouts. Please keep the improvements coming!

I like this program even with its flaws. The photo and drawing capabilities add a lot to a mind map. I decided to upgrade from this app lite so I could create more than one file. Lo an behold, the only way to get a copy is to email a screen shot. That means that it can only be as big as the iPod screen. If your mind map extends over the edge the image is cut off. Also, make sure you can read all your text when you push the share button. If you zoom out too far the text changes to gray boxes and then the ideas in your mind map are useless. Even with the export problem, you can make nice mind maps that are fully visible from within the program.

I have been using this app for I believe a year now consistently. I have created dozens and dozens of files for when I have ideas and it has been great for documenting them. I love how you can connect bubbles easily. My only addition would be to please add more colors! So often I have found myself wanting more than the 7 colors for the bubbles (which include black and grey) and have consistently thought that there should be more. Please add more colors for the bubbles! Also, it would be nice to drag a square to select popplets rather than tapping them with two fingers. If you mess up it deletes all your selections and honestly it is frustrating if you don’t do it perfectly each time!

I use this app to build mind maps, as a rapid prototyping means for larger pieces of work using traditional desktop mind mapping software. this app is very slick, appealing and easy to use. The simple interface is perfect for on-the-fly brainstorming sessions. I look forward to additional features such as interoperability with the web-based app, and some essentials like the capabilities for cutting and pasting parts of maps to other files, duplication, etc.

Great app, very easy and fun to use. A few suggestions for the next version:

- ability to choose colors for lines, as you can now with popples
- add (hidden) notes to a popple, so you can have more info than shown at the top level
- ability to designate a parent/child relationship between nodes, and then use that to allow the user to choose to hide the children of a specific node (to simplify viewing complex webs)
- add a hyperlink property to a node (instead of just putting it as a visible note). Then when the node is clicked in a certain way (perhaps on a certain part of the popple), safari is opened with that link. (Ideally, this behavior would be preserved in PDF output, but I realize that might be too much to ask). This would make this app a great way to organize an interface to distributed information.

this app is actually a really cool tool that seems to simple to be useful. Once you use it, however, it is one of those things that becomes indispensable because you get hooked on it. Improvements these days are marginal but it is still very useful.

Hooray for free demos, simple elegance, and small dev teams!

As I was trying to organize the various bits and bobs of a story idea, I decided to look into flowchart/mind map apps. My first thought was, of course, Omnigraffle, but the $50 price was way too much investment for non-business use. Fortunately, this app had a free Lite version of their app which offered full functionality but only one saved file. Within seconds I knew Popplet would do nearly everything I needed. And it looks great doing it.

It's simple, direct, physical, visceral. You don't have to learn how to use it. You don't have to study it or analyze it. You don't need the latest hifalutin hardware. You just TOUCH it, and start to discover the shape of your thoughts. It's not about software, it's about your subconscious. If you're looking for a bunch of extra editing features and complexity, you're not getting what it's for.

I hope they keep it supported forever!!! I'll buy it again if that's what it takes.

I bought my iPad knowing that I loved its "toy" features but desperately looking for productivity gains that would justify the purchase.

this app has been a great help with the productivity side of the story. I used to keep a scratchpad and pencil alongside my computer. Any real thinking and creative work came from that scratchpad. Well, my iPad with this app has pretty much replaced the scratchpad and pencil. And I have a digital record of my mental meanderings.

I like everything about the program. It does good things through a very intuitive and friendly interface.

I started to map a project on the free version of this app. The process was so intuitive and easy to use that it allowed me to focus more on my thought progression than on the mapping action. Consequently I decided to pause to purchase the upgrade. I continued my mind mapping on the upgraded version, more comfortable now in the thought that I am using a tool that I can count on for so many planning exercises that I can safely store digitally, take with me wherever I go and email in PDF format to my colleagues. This has made my iPad a working instrument and has more than justified its purchase. Great job, this app team. I look forward to future upgrades but as of now I am very happy with Popplet.

I was looking for a mind mapping App, and tried this app lite and decided to upgrade. This is the best stand alone mind mapping app for iPad. It allows you to create the standard trees, but allows you to add pictures and drawings easily, making this more than a standard mind mapping tool.

Features I'd like to see that would make Popplet worth a lot more:
-folders for organization at the home screen.
-spellcheck, auto capitalization.
-undue a stroke, but not whole drawing.
-ability to change colors and line type (dashed, etc) of branches.
-ability to add add webpages to a this app that will open in safari when clicked on from the this app.
-a second meta level for text. So you can add notes and comments to popplets revealable through a double tap on a this app, but is ordinarily hidden.
-ability to switch from the map view to a very simple hierarchical outline view, like Outliner app, of the popplets. This would make this a killer outliner app as well.
-PDF export via iTunes sharing. I don't want to have to send everything I create through an unsecured e-mail program, I want privacy when I need it. I can't believe how blasé people are about the security of cloud storage on some second party's server.

I like this app it’s very fun game to play all day

On 11” iPad pro the handwriting recognition is bad with Apple pencil. Please fix it.
