gimp

well I too ran into problems i was I thought excited to see gimp for I thought would work on an apple I Pad,,, well it don’t I as well had a blank screen did the same as your other reviewer, opened it up as new and it failed to open up to the images. I love gimp too I’m one of the users from 2010, I kept my older version as I honestly hated the newer version as it was all different and was not as good as the version I have, and I will never take it off from my desk top or laptop,,, the old vein was true if it wasn’t broken then don’t fix it,,, gimp personnel, you thought you had improved it, gave it updated, look I gotta tell ya,,, Stop, Stop, Stop, you can not improve what was already working great. i hate that gray field and white icons, I had to take it off and go back to my old thumb drive and bring back my saved working above perfect version….. It’s annoying actually, with people not stopping to what was fantastic, working apps or programs, and ruin it in a new version. (2. 8. 20) was your best. the simplicity of it never fails ya….now I was hoping to find a version of it to work with the apple I pad I was given as a early Birthday, Christmas Present,,, sad it don’t,,,, I hope you see from that version I listed and work it for I Pads and Apples… You are awesome ,,, yours faithfully terry alan vincent, Illinois

Help Gimp usage? Wont work. Plz.

Hi how’s it going goes on I would like to say that I want to use camp I love the software and I just think that there’s a little issue a little minor problem basically if you guys can go and check your guises data servers maybe it’s not him showing exactly how to run it right through the relay servers. It could be a technical issue but as soon as I open XGimpImageEditorPaintTool it takes me straight to new image edit image and files in like that when I push new image tells me the name and eventually name it LOL just for testing and it pulls up a blank screen with editing tools in the bottom it does not look like a desktop version it just looks like a regular app but there’s no way to import my picture there’s no way to open gallery for my photo albums can you guys please maybe take a look into your processing servers and see if you can fix this for me thank you very much my email is well you guys should know it’s on here thank you bye-bye

Disappointing app

Like many others, I downloaded this hoping that it would be similar to the desktop version, or at least a trimmed-down version. XGimpImageEditorPaintTool has two modes: a poor emulation of the desktop version, and a half-functional copy of MS Paint.

The “remote” version looks like the desktop version, but imagine you’re running Windows 98 with no video driver; the colors are not even close to being correct. Furthermore, after picking a tool, XGimpImageEditorPaintTool with occasionally display a “please wait” message and fail to do anything.

The “local” version works if all you need to do is free-hand paint everything. It has a few tools that mostly work (these also have loading issues periodically), but some of the adjustment sliders are obscured by the ads. Additionally, the effects tool covers up a potion of adjustment sliders that aren’t already covered by ads, so if you slide the bar too low, you have to select a different effect to reset the slider. This mode also includes stamps and emoticons, but the selection is so limited as to be unusable.

Overall, this seems like an aborted attempt at getting into the mobile market. It may have some use if you just need to draw basic pictures, but for anyone who is expecting Gimp will be very disappointed.

Probably a scam

Im a huge fan of the desktop version, and it’s everything you want in a photo editor, but they tried to put the desktop version on the phone, and you can’t even tilt it or use your fingers to make the screen bigger! If you could do those two things I just mentioned then it would be great, but I feel they only made this to get people using it for the first time to look at the ads, then give gimp the money, then they leave, and one easy way to prove this is that the only ad I have ever seen on it is another effing mobile photo editing app

Useless. Absolutely useless.

The point of an image editor is for you to be able to edit images with it—or at least that’s what it was last time I checked. This one will not access my photos. There are some images that I want to touch up, but I can’t do it because it hasn’t requested access to my photos. Every time I use the “magick” function and try to add a layer, XGimpImageEditorPaintTool crashes. If the option to give a rating of zero stars was an option, I would opt for it.

Gimp for iPad doesn’t work

I downloaded it. It only looks like the far right image. It doesn’t respond. The other images never appeared on my tablet. I press reconnect it says there is an internet error. So I deleted it and reinstalled. Nothing works. I paid the 99cents to get rid of the ads. It is a monthly subscription. It never worked for me. I regret the time I have wasted downloading it. There is no mention of help or any type of directions. It is really bad.

Horrible but cool

This is a pretty good app...but one problem whenever I go first on XGimpImageEditorPaintTool it’s just fully white and I do not even know where anything is but I have to admit two things one I found out where the stuff are second it did work on drawing BUT nobody like a blank boring screen when you first get on the game I saw the reviews and I thought it can’t be that bad but it is kinda just to boring honestly like guys if you agree

It’s not what it looks like

XGimpImageEditorPaintTool pictures show a promising paint app. But good thing sometimes turn to bad. The pictures aren’t what XGimpImageEditorPaintTool actually look like. So when I got it it looked totally different. I felt a bit cheated! Maybe more but still. It has clickbait. And even so XGimpImageEditorPaintTool wasn’t even that good. I mean I would have kept it if it was actually GOOD. But it wasn’t. I am disappointed in XGimpImageEditorPaintTool. Don’t buy XGimpImageEditorPaintTool it is a scam thank you for your time.

Like having a conversation with a brick wall

The creators of XGimpImageEditorPaintTool don’t seem to be familiar with the concept of user friendliness. You’re greeted to a blank, lined screen and a handful of non functioning buttons and are left to guess what each option’s vague description is supposed to mean before realizing that it doesn’t matter what you press, nothing is going to happen. Well, that’s not entirely true, the pop up ads work just fine.

Seriously!

Gimp for iPad is completely gimped up. I tried downloading it a few times and it will only appear on my iPad vertically. Well i need it to be horizontally. My stand is horizontal. I am not holding onto my iPad the whole time i am using XGimpImageEditorPaintTool . When i open XGimpImageEditorPaintTool everything is pixilated to the point where i can’t read the words only guess what they are. My images never did finish loading. Adobe Photoshop here i come :)

You are destroying your brand name with this crap...

I love GIMP for pc, and I was excited to see it available for my iPad. This, however, has to be the sorriest thing I have ever seen. You can’t simply import pictures from your gallery to edit, and there can’t be a more clunkier interface. If people download this before the pc software, they won’t give you a second notice. You can do better than this.

Ok , so

I would give it a five star but , when I do the computer thing it lags... it's really how to draw . I see these glitches when I draw and I don't like it. When I erase it does the same thing

Companion App

They REALLY need to reword the description of XGimpImageEditorPaintTool. This is a COMPANION APP to the GIMP program that you need to have on another actual computer to be able to connect to so you can use this. It DOESNT WORK ALONE. I love gimp but my computer died a few years ago and I can’t afford another so I use this iPad. Gimp is an amazing program but XGimpImageEditorPaintTool is useless without it. Very deceptive description.

Don’t download this as a mobile app!

It was really hard to figure out - not to mention nothing would upload! There were sooooo many ads, at least 8 in a single minute! Overall I would absolutely not recommend this as a mobile app - however if you wanted something like this that works try the laptop download which is much better.

By

Pointless

You have to have a folder and know the file name of that folder?? That’s pointless. It would be much easier and more convenient to be able to upload images straight from my camera gallery. Anyway, I never made it to the “image uploading” stuff once I saw the complicated file crap. Uninstalled.

By

Absolutely useless

You can literally not do anything with XGimpImageEditorPaintTool. You can’t import any images so you can’t edit your photos at all. You can only make a new image in which they give you basic tools to do so and weird stickers. Definitely needs to be deleted from XGimpImageEditorPaintTool Store.

By

Scam App?

I just tried XGimpImageEditorPaintTool and it’s a total scam! You can’t even edit an image or download/import an image onto the canvas! The whole point of XGimpImageEditorPaintTool is being able to edit stuff. Disappointing.

If you want a quality editing app, go with PicsArt or something else like that, not this garbage.

By

It’s confusing

I don’t even know how to use XGimpImageEditorPaintTool, but I’d like to be able to use it on my iPhone, I really don’t want to instill it on my laptop just because that’s already buggy and slow, there should at least be a tutorial for those who’ve only heard about XGimpImageEditorPaintTool .

By

😡😡😡

I downloaded it, but it just looks like the last image on the right, with a white screen. It won’t let me do anything. I was excited, because I like the desktop version. I’ve used it quite a bit. I was really hoping to have an app to be able to do the same thing. Really disappointed!!

By

Smh, just get photoshop at this point

Can’t even use it without full knowledge of how XGimpImageEditorPaintTool works. Too bad nobody makes gimp mobile tutorials. I’m just gonna use photoshop now. Maybe get my images backed up on a USB? Anyways this is kind of garbage which is disappointing because gimp is amazing otherwise.

By

It’s Free quit complaining

Definitely better on PC than mobile. Still it’s free and if you know what to do it’s serviceable.

By

This is not the authentic gimp

I knew immediately after downloading this could not possibly be the real GIMP. Notice it says XGIMP. The real GIMP would not put out crap like this.
For all GIMP users: they give us free software- lets give them some donations and ask them to make the a real IOS app. Other alternative is to pay thousands to photoshop.

This was terrible for 98% of the time I had it

.. the 2% it was good was when I thought I was getting a mobile version of a decent desktop app. I attempted to edit a picture of Candace to see if I could put deez in her mouth and couldn’t do it like I could with the desktop app. They need to add this before I’ll re-download.

By

Not that great

Ok, so I saw XGimpImageEditorPaintTool and was like "Finally! Something like a free photoshop for IPad!" Ha. Turns out I was wrong. XGimpImageEditorPaintTool has none of the brushes that photoshop has, it's really hard to find the colors, and when you draw something? It turns out to be really laggy. I deleted immediately after I got it. Gimp for computer is awesome but for IPad? Terrible.
