Unequal adjustments

So I've used T2 remote for the past 3-4 years and it has been working well. After upgrading to Gemini AI along with ITC hearing aids without the Bluetooth, I feel the updated version is causing only one sided adjustments rather than both hearing aids. This applies to both volume and memory. The only work around I have right now is adjust one to the preferred settings and take it out without opening the battery door and place it somewhere, and then go in another room, open the other hearing aid, put it back in ear, then adjust it to my preferred settings. There needs to be a fix to this ASAP considering the amount of money spent on this.

Worthless app!

I just installed StarkeyTRemote on my phone. It doesn’t do anything but turn the volume up or down! And the same with memory! I have a remote that does more than StarkeyTRemote! I tried to decrease the volume on my left hearing aid. It didn’t do a thing as far as I know! I heard the same sounds when I put my phone to my ears as I do when I just swipe to hear the tones AND my hearing aid does not make a tone back like they do when I use the house phone T2! Totally worthless! I have a friend who recently purchased hearing aids. I don’t know what brand; but he showed me his app and he can do all kinds of things to his hearing aids including his own adjustments!! You need something like that!!!

Does not work

StarkeyTRemote does not work. I have small in-the-canal aids. The only way to adjust volume is through StarkeyTRemote . Three years ago when I got the aids StarkeyTRemote worked. Now it does not. I contacted Starkey which did not help. I was told to delete StarkeyTRemote and reinstall. I did this several times. Still does not work. Aids which cannot be adjusted are almost useless. Starkey charges thousands for their product. StarkeyTRemote is a critical part and should work.

PAY ATTENTION STARKEY

I wrote the following review and then read the other reviews. YOUR customers have been saying that you lack information FOREVER !!! This is a simple fix! Hire a tech writer Go on google and search for tech writers. I say this because you obviously don’t know that. Get a decent manual
You have a GREAT product. The hearing aids work!
Simple instructions but no explanation about the memory. What it does. How it works. Why should I use it WHEN should I use it. I guess that I could find answers on the web. But I’m HERE. NOW.

App rarely works

I have tried to make StarkeyTRemote useful but it just is not. I like the hearing aids but feel I am limited to one setting with no consistently useful way to adjust volume or settings. I have previously used the magnetic wand that another brand hearing aid used and at least that would simply adjust my 4 programmed volumes. It almost makes me wish I had tried the other brand for this set of hearing aids just for simplicity of volume control. Starkey is revolutionary in their hearing devices surely they can come up with something better for volume adjustment.

Does not work

I just bought these hearing aids and they worked really well for one day. Once I got home, I couldn’t adjust the right side hearing aid using StarkeyTRemote . After changing the batteries, the right side began to work a little bit better but now the left side doesn’t work even with new batteries. Additionally, when I hold the phone up to one side it occasionally changes both sides. When it changes both sides, this causes them to be out of sync. Meaning one is louder than the other and I have to take the batteries out to reset them to the default volume. Complete waste of money.

App is worthless

Just the fact StarkeyTRemote relies on audible responses for someone hearing impaired is a joke in itself. In a noisy environment doesn't work at all but even if it did its next to impossible to hear. In a quiet setting the audible commands are also useless. Imagine adjusting these things at a Broadway play. How disruptive to the people sitting near you. Simple buttons labeled with the memory and volume settings would be a much better option with a visual indicator in StarkeyTRemote showing what setting you're on. Aids are great but IMO app makes them nonfunctional for my purposes. Going to discuss other options with audiologist and probably return them. Starkey please step up to the plate.

Horrible Disappointment

StarkeyTRemote and for that matter the Starkey hearing aids are worthless. I have not been able to adjust aids except sporadically. I was told an update was needed for StarkeyTRemote to work and yet the update has not been developed. Horrible.

Not so much the app

StarkeyTRemote works fine but the technology seems to be a little old. Since the hearing aids use a tone (like an old dial up modem) to change settings several things interfere with it. For instance: when I get into my car the door chime sets off my right aid and changes the memory which I have to then reset by taking out the battery and using the phone with just one or the other aid to re sync them

Next: the cycle timer on my Maytag washer changes the volume in one or the other which also needs re syncing.

I can even simulate the tone sometimes with my whistle which only happened once but I thought that was weird

Since then I have had the memory feature turned off for crowd and outdoors.

Too Many Irritating, Confusing Beeps

StarkeyTRemote was so bad, it was the cause of my returning the new Evolv AI IIC hearing aids. The beep sounds for volume/memory adjustments were loud enough to irritate nearby people despite turning the generic volume low. The ability to see the exact volume level was absent, leaving me so many beeps to interpret, it was confusing.
An overall terrible app.

A good thing to have but needs serious work

I am pleased with my new hearing aids and am glad to have StarkeyTRemote as a means of fine-tuning my hearing in settings. However, having said that, StarkeyTRemote needs a lot of work.

Some suggestions:
1. Instead of having to cycle through each setting or volume level one at a time, there should be buttons labeled 1, 2, 3 etc. Having to cycle through the process four times to get from setting 1 to 3 in both ears is very annoying.

2. The volume at which the tone is produced seems to reset to max all the time for me instead of the volume I left it at. This produces unintentional very loud tones that I'm not expecting sometimes and is also disruptive to people around me.

3. an option to store favorite settings would be ideal. For example. I need a louder volume at work because it's a quiet environment. Allowing me to set up the hearing aids as I like for work and then store that setting by myself would be very helpful.

Doesn’t work on airplanes or other ambient-noise situations

First, it IS nice to have a handy way to adjust volume and modes. IF (and only if) you happen to be in a quiet place!

In addition, this system is not at all transparent.

When you put the aids on, you have no idea of the current settings. StarkeyTRemote doesn’t tell you the starting place and how to get where you want to go. Instead, using trial and error, you scroll through the choices for both adjustments on each ear.

OK, that can be done; but it seems pretty primitive.

Then when you get to a place where a change is required—like in a meeting, a concert, a restaurant, or an airplane: StarkeyTRemote fails to work at all! Seldom is it possible to leave for a quiet place.

So I think 3 stars is quite generous...

Technique to get app to work

I was not able to use StarkeyTRemote on my phone because it has a LifeProof case on it. I was also told that on some people the hearing may sit too far in the ear and they might not be able to use StarkeyTRemote either. Being an inventor I tried experimenting and found a solution that works quite well.
Open StarkeyTRemote and take one hearing aid out of your ear. On a flat surface place that aid next to the speaker at the top of your phone. Tap the negative or positive sign next to the function you want to use. While the count down is in progress use two fingers to cover and uncover the vents next to the plastic removal wire. This will activate a sound from your hearing aid that will then activate the program on your phone. The adjustment will now be announced in the hearing aid that you left in your ear. It takes only a little practice with your fingers over the vents to get the hearing aids to make the sound to communicate with the program but once you got the hang of it you will really appreciate the freedom it gives you. Hope this helps you.

Needs Earpiece Support

This is overall, a simple, easy-to-use app. However, I don’t understand why the sound comes from the bottom speaker of the phone and not through the earpiece. I would like the sound to come through the earpiece so I can discreetly change a setting while I’m in class or in a meeting if needed. Also, StarkeyTRemote needs to support iPhone 5’s and 5S’ larger screen.

Could use a better users manual

As a woman with very short hair, I appreciate how invisible these hearing aids are. They work well and I can easily adjust the volume. They also have different mode settings for things like meetings and restaurants. Unfortunately, the users manual has absolutely no information about how to take advantage of these potentially powerful features. VERY unhelpful!

Actually works very well if you play with it a bit

Recently received my hearing aids and started using StarkeyTRemote. I found it initially difficult to use as it appears to attempt to tune both side simultaneously but only update one or the other. The louder I set the volume control on StarkeyTRemote the worse it seem to be. I decided to play with a bit and lowered the volume close to the lowest input and then use it to tune each ear individually. This works virtually hundred percent of the time .now I use it all the time with no problems

Nice but needs more work.

It works, so better than having no control. Remote was 500$ more, so app saved me $500. I would like to see what volume my hearing aids are at when I am adjusting them. Also, it seems to me that I press the + or- symbols once and it will adjust accordingly, once. If you want to adjust the volume higher, you have to press the appropriate symbol, hold the phone to your ear, wait for the beeps, and then repeat the process to achieve desired volume. Fix this, and also allow me to see visually what power level my aids are amplifying, and StarkeyTRemote gets 5 stars. Keep up the good work!

Useful for novice, need to be improved

I think for a veteran hearing aids user, StarkeyTRemote is even less useful than the number pad. However, if StarkeyTRemote could produce command beep from the earpiece, all will be changed: my iPhone 5S can only make the beep from loudspeaker which may disturb others nearby me in a quite place. The resolution of the interface also need to be changed. Finally, I love starkey!

Great once you get the hang of it

It's not immediately intuitive that you need to put the phone by your ear to make StarkeyTRemote generate the remote tones after pressing a volume or memory button.

StarkeyTRemote uses the proximity sensor in the iPhone and will play the tones as soon as the phone is close enough to your head. Once you figure this out, though, this is a very handy app for anyone using the S-Series hearing aids!

Works perfectly as designed.

People on here giving one and two stars need to get educated on what StarkeyTRemote actually does and what it was designed for.

First off, you have to have a paired and compatible Starkey aid that needs to be setup and programmed by an audiologist. They will explain the functionality and features along with answering any questions you may have.

For those of us the have Invisible In-Canal aids that do not support other iPhone apps nor have a physical button, StarkeyTRemote is perfect for quick volume, mute, or changing custom memories. Basic, generic, but it works just fine!
