Your experience may very

I love the idea of the this app service. I have saved a ton of money not buying games but renting them from this app. I use the 2 games out at a time (the intro discount version).

But once the discount runs out, you then have to pay $25 instead of $15. That is ridiculous, considering that you have to rely on the USPS to get your games. It has taken two weeks for this app to receive my game several times. And you are screwed out of that time. That means you’re paying all that money for nothing. The average turn around for a game is a week. You put it in the mailbox, it usually takes 4/5 days for this app to receive it (NOT including Sunday’s), and 4/5 days to get it a new game. That is OVER A WEEK of service you are PAYING for. That is absolutely Ridiculous. They are charging you assuming that you are going to enjoy every game you receive, but that’s just not the case.

Now if the price was $15 for the 2 game plan, it would be a 5 star rating. If it was even $19, it would be a 4 star rating because that is still a bit much, but more reasonable. But this service is $25 after the trial period. I wish I could keep this service, but I can’t justify paying for a service when you don’t have games half the month.

Why?

Why does GameFly exist? It’s a terrible app for a terrible company. It’s a scam. You don’t need physical media to play video games on your systems anymore, you know that, right? You especially don’t need physical media that is scratched and chipped (for a game WAY down your queue, even if higher games in the queue are listed as available), and won’t actually install on your system, physical media that takes days to get to you, and then days to get back to some warehouse where they will send you another chipped, scratched piece of media that won’t install on your game system. Why would you do this to yourself on purpose? Why would you give a company like this any money?

Edit: They responded with some blah blah blah canned message about shipping times, which wasn’t the actual issue I had at all, so you can see how much they pay attention to important details, like “are we sending out damaged discs?” or “are we totally ignoring the queue our customer set up?” Congrats on your dying business, GameCrash.

Shipping

I’ve been a member for a few years now and When I first started out they would ship out a new game as soon as the game I put in the mailbox was scanned. Not anymore, even if it says there Is immediate availability they won’t ship out for a week sometimes. This is the number one gripe I have about game fly. Plus being a member for so long I feel like I should get some kind of reward points that don’t expire so quickly or something. I don’t know just my two cents

Good but expect looooong shipping times

I’ve been a this app subscriber off and on for more than 10 years now. It’s a really good way to get access to the newest games, and much cheaper than buying or renting other places.

I wish they offered release date delivery, but they don’t. Not a huge deal.

I have lived in nearly every major metropolitan area in the US, and even if you live right next to a shipping center you can expect a game to be “shipped” for 5 days before you get it. Sometimes it’s quicker, but that’s the way it’s always been since the beginning and it’s my only major complaint with the service.

I would be a lifetime subscriber except for this issue, so instead I use it only during the busy holiday and spring seasons and cancel it the rest of the year and it works fine for that.

Again, if they could reliably get games to you quickly, I would be recommending this to everyone. Really leaving money on the table here. I would pay for faster shipping if this is what’s been holding it back all these years - im not joking.

If you’re a gamer, you should try it.

Oh and GameFly itself seems to work fine.

Their chat support deleted my Q

I had a question as a new user so I got on the chat support that they have or had cause i cant seem to use it anymore during the hours of operation. She kept repeating the 24 to 48 hours thing and I ask her if its from the point you add a game or if its from the point you set up the account because I dont know if there is like a waiting period before you can rent or what but after I was done with her I gave her a bad rating and all of a sudden now I had my Q cleared so instead of getting my rental sent out 24 or 48 hours from the 26th now I had to add everything again on the 28th and who knows when it will go out now and also now I cant use the online chat either coincidence doubt it. So if you dont want your Q erased don’t get on their customer supports bad side cause they wipe your stuff.

I wish they never changed the app to what it is now.

Like the title say, I wish they never changed GameFly from what it was previously. Before it felt like an actual app for this app. Now it looks and feels like you’re on a desktop/mobile version of their website. It’s responds very slow too. Before the change, tapping on titles/navigation menu would react almost immediately. Now it takes 2-3 seconds before it responds to your touch. It is no longer user-friendly and I really wish that you would change it back to how it used to be, or update it to something infinitely better than what it is now.

Great way to try out games before committing

It’s a great way to test games you’re on the fence about ...If you like it then keep it ! And pay with discount with monthly coupons...also you can lock in games you want to preorder with Gamelock and you’ll receive it once it’s released! However you’ll have to have a slot empty for it and the sooner you gamelock it then better your odds... there’s a few different options you can choice to pay for depending on your gaming style ... new and old games for old and the latest systems even movie rentals! And collectibles andAccessories for games.

Good concept, Awful execution

The concept of a “Netflix for games” is great. However, one of the biggest perks of Netflix is quick shipping. It took over two weeks for my game to get to my house after shipping—in fact, it took so long that I reported it as missing. They shipped me a second copy that took so long to ship that I had already tried the game, disliked it, and sent it back. Turns out, I *had* received the “lost” copy in the mail. It took nearly three weeks for me to receive, and I had assumed when I received it that it was the new copy. Imagine my surprise when another two weeks passed and I received the same game in the mail! A three week turnaround apparently is the normal shipping time, and something I’m certainly not interested in.

Does what it’s supposed to do

The this app app is useful to easily add games to your Q. That is the main function of GameFly , and I’ve never had any trouble reporting an issue or updating billing info. The only reason GameFly doesn’t get 5 stars is the news section. I used to go there for the latest gaming news, but recent updates have turned the news section into a bunch of screenshots from weird, random games. You have to weed through these to find an actual news article. I grew weary of this and downloaded the IGN app to find news again.

I LOVE GAMEFLY

I just subscribed to a two game out at a time plan. I am extremely happy with the turn around times I put a game in the mail on Friday and another one on Saturday and I happily discovered that two new games were being sent out on Monday due to fast return I recommend this app to everyone who likes to play games and are unsure what games they’re wanting to try without having to buy games first to discover if they like them or not.

Update

After the last couple of updates, app has become so much buggy and removed good features. Whoever planned the last update has to be playing a prank on us. You can’t click on games to view details from Q anymore ? Seriously ? I look at a game in my Q then go to search and find the game to see its details and videos. When you find that almost all the time the page does not show up completely. The top part is not showing. Everything from the details and below show up. You can see some of it when you drag and scroll down. Utterly frustrating. And of course, no need to mention the shipping time getting worse and worse by each disc. I don’t know what’s going on at this app.

an Oasis in 2020

Literally a saving grace all year this year. Remember when Netflix sent movies this is just like that but with all the video games. They send first class games to you by mail and recently have been offering wicked deals in accessories and gently used games. They are very prompt and excellent customer friendly. I’ve been a member for over a year and its been amazing to fall in love with this service. 5 stars doesn’t do it justice!

My game won’t work

Please check to see if the disc is not cracked because if it is then get another one (and maybe fix it by GameStop)
because whoever used it can be sometimes be dropping it a lot and my game got some cracks in the sides and disc itself has cracks but if you guys already fix that problem then it’s the mailman who is driving in bad roads but everything else is fine

EDIT: it was just one game so maybe someone did it but every other game I received was fine ( I return the broken game yesterday so I’ll put it to four stars)

GameFly is Great!

I was pretty skeptical about using this app, but it has saved me so much time and headaches from bad games. Also not to mention money, albeit it’s not the most convenient way to rent games but has come immensely in hand during the pandemic. Plus the system they use is pretty streamlined even for when issues are had regardless and of the situation this app always makes sure to take care of the customer.

Fix the tabs!

All of the different tabs on the main menu are messed up (Most popular, new releases and coming soon). Some are listed from oldest to new others are from an unknown release date to the closest to be released, for example, coming soon shows games from 2013 where it should be unreleased games!. At least allow people to sort the list as they want.

EDIT: Fixed 👍🏼

Love GameFly, but App Needs Help

Every time I try to review a game I rented, I type it out and hit Submit, then it asks for my password so I enter it then the review I just spent 10 minutes writing disappears. I check back the next day and it’s still not there. This has happened like 3 times now, so I started leaving my reviews on the actual website, but when I check for them on GameFly , all the punctuation has the ? box symbol for unknown character 😂 I just want to help my fellow gamers use your service man, why is it so hard to write a review??

Mixup

I’ve been using this app for a long time and GameFly makes it even better. However, there seems to be a mixup or something. I’m looking at the Coming Soon category and it’s showing games that have been released for a view years. The same thing is happening with the New Releases category but they are showing games that are no where near close to coming out yet. It’s a real head scratcher.

Needs shipment tracking

I love this app so far, it usually ships quick and It has all the new games and most old games. The only complaint I have is that I suggest a way to track where your package is. Example I’m waiting on elden ring and it’s taking longer than usual and I’d like to know where it is. Other than that I love everything about this app

Discs do not work...

I’ve been with this app for almost 6 years, and the first 3 years were fine, but this app needs work on their quality control... it’s so bad the past 10 games I’ve gotten have either not worked, or read but couldn’t be played fully. I’m so sick and tired of the Invalid Disc screen popping up that I just won’t be having it anymore. When they work, it’s an awesome company, but I’ve gotten way too many discs not working for the past dozen rentals. (cartridges work flawlessly though) Nothing will make me subscribe back to this app after this robbery of $16 a month...

Excellent for gamers

I’ve been a member of game fly for several years. I do the two game packet, that way I can play one as one is being shipped for a quick rotation. I get these games probably within 5 days of mailing back. Any issue I’ve ever had was dealt with promptly and to my satisfaction. Also purchase games and then there’s a breeze. Excellent company to deal with.

News feed caught up feature and more

Hi, I've been a years long user of GameFly. For the most part it is good, but one thing I find myself doing several times a day is trying to remember what the last post was before I exited GameFly , because when I return a while later there are new articles posted and I have to scroll back down and remember what the last post was so that I don't miss any.

Instagram solved this issue with the caught up feature. I would love it if you could bring a similar feature to the news feed section of GameFly .

Also the feature to curate my news feed by signing in needs improvement, like the selection of games I can choose to follow are extremely limited also there should be a way to limit movie related news or turn it off completely, and news about certain games that I don't want to see, and games by consoles, like if I only want to see Xbox one games and news only about Xbox line, and nothing related to Nintendo or PlayStation. Or vice versa. Or if I only want to see news about certain Xbox one games.

Please add these features soon. Thank you

Works well

When ur a broke 14 year old u can't pay 60 dollars for all those good games. this app works very well for me usually only takes a couple days for my game to come. But just a warning if u live very far away from their shipping centers then it might take a while to get ur game I only live a few hours away from on of the centers so my games come fairly quickly.

Update

There is no better way to save money while playing games. The shipping may take a bit but you will certainly save over time. I have had one issue that took some communication but the support team did everything they could and the issue was resolved. If you’re on the fence about subscribing I say just give it a shot!

GameFly

Incredible value! Been a member on and off for a few years and I’ve tried a couple different membership plans… I have enjoyed bonus games + $5 rewards and I think it’s pretty cool that they’re building a subscription-based streaming service on all game five is always delivered and there one of the few companies I don’t mind having a subscription to!

Never going back!

I’ve been. Loyal customer for many many years and this app has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have saved a ton of money over the years as a gamer who used to buy games for $60 every time a new game released. For $60, I can get a membership of 1 month of 2 new releases with this app. How can you beat that? No late fees? And you can return anytime? Awesome !
