The New York Times Status

Freezes (will not allow navigation among articles or sections) every evening. No other app does this. Essentially I can’t read the news in the evening. Very frustrating!

The past few weeks when going on The NY Times App, it does not let me scroll. Articles freeze

Unable to scroll down from first article that appears. Unable to open first article. This has been going on for 36 hours now.

When I try to open an article on the NYT app on my iPad, I cannot scroll to read the article. This has been happening for months now. Have tried turning my iPad on/off but it always happens.

App opens on iPad to “front page” and is frozen from there.

My emails from the NYT, and the app crash. I can only see the headlines. This happens on my Samsung Galaxy s22.

I can open the NYT app and it loads the current days pages but choosing any article or game and nothing happens. The app stays on the first page completely frozen. Rebooting does nothing. Can you assist?

NYT opens and then closes about 15 to 30 seconds later. This repeats over and over again and commenced 3 days ago. This only happens on one iPhone 13

My times app on my ipad freezes when turned on.

For a few weeks now the app partially loads or loads and freezes. At first it was random but now very frequently. I did the things suggested by the troubleshooting page and still not working.

On both my iPhone and iPad, the NYTimes mobile app is not downloading the stories. I see the articles,photos and links but when I click on them, I get a blank screen. Deleting the app and re-installing it has helped a little, but a LOT of stories aren’t loading. I am thinking this is not just me…..

App opens one article then stops working on my iPad. I have deleted and reloaded app and hard closed and restarted the iPad. Still doesn’t work.

My NY Times app on my phone freezes a lot of the time. The front page shows up and then I can't do anything else. I can't look at the sections or read any of the articles, etc.

Along with may other users, apparently, the NYT app opens on my iPhone and freezes on the first article, usually with a blank photo space. Is there any acknowledgement that this is a widespread problem and any effort to remediate it?

Constant crashing which has been going on for months. Occasionally all is fine but problem resurfaces. I have reinstalled app, changed the password - completed other suggested fixes.

The app opens fine. But then it crashes and closes about a minute into reading any story. This has been occurring for approximately two weeks.

For over a week now (today is 18 April 2023), the NYT app on my iOs ipad keeps crashing when I try to read an article. I have cleared the NYT cache, but it is still happening. Please advise, thanks.

App won’t open on my iPad. I’ve tried to remove the app but I can’t remove it. It’s gray on my screen. I’ve gone to the App Store and it says UPDATE on the NYT app but when I try to update nothing happens.

App freezes upon opening (screen freezes on first page displayed). This is the only app that freezes on my iPhone X, IOS 16.2, and it’s happened with every IOS version I’ve had recently. I’ve been paying and paying and have been unable to use the app for months. When I called NYT tech support, I was advised that this had not been reported by others, but it’s clear that it has been reported, numerous to many times, right here. Please fix this!

My NY Times app on iPhone 13 uses almost 7 GB of storage. My Washington Post uses only 400 MB. How can I reduce the storage space used and still retain all the access to the Times?

iPad, latest version of The NY Times app, OS 15.7.1, app crashes fairly quickly after opening. Happens every time. Does not happen on iPhone, same version #s.

When trying to save a recipe from food section your app asks me to login. Am already logged in. Type password & app won't accept it. Then app hangs.

The NYTimes opens on my iPad Mini but with a frozen screen. I have tried several attempts to fix the problem but with no success. Please advise!

I’ve removed and reinstalled app several times in an attempt to get it to work. It continues to crash or communicate that it can’t find the server. You would think that because The NY Times would prioritize this app working correctly since their revenue is largely driven by digital subscriptions. It’s very dissatisfying and disappointing that they drag their feet and are so lazy regarding this issue. Someone needs to fire and hire new blood.

App loaded. Immediately freezing. Updated entire system, and the app. Shut down, restarted phone. Still the ONLY frozen app.
