I’ve had Yuzu for about a week. I like the social/dating toggle, community groups, and I think it’s cool how you can specify your “roots”. It’s great there is an app for the Asian community in particular, and I’m excited to see what new features they come out with!

I love how it has distinctly different experiences for meeting friends versus finding dates! Really cool concept that I’ve not seen elsewhere before.

Growing up as the only Asian in my town, I often felt a disconnect from my peers, struggling to find others who shared my cultural background and experiences. this app has been a game-changer in bridging that gap. Yuzu isn't just a platform; it's a community where I instantly connected with people who truly 'get me'. It's incredible to interact with others who understand the significance of 'sliced fruits', who appreciate the cultural impact of shows like 'Beef' and 'Bling Empire', and who grew up idolizing Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and immersed in anime.
this app offers more than just social connections; it provides a sense of belonging. It's a place where shared experiences, like managing high parental expectations, are not just understood but deeply empathized with. Yuzu is user-friendly, making it easy to connect with people across the U.S. who share these common cultural threads. For me, It's more than an app; it's a cultural haven.

I saw this app through an Ad on Instagram and it peeked my curiosity here’s what happened. So I’ve already met with a lot of people. If you don’t want to date people, it’s still okay since there are community chats that you can check out and you can turn it off completely and just go for “social”. So far, the people I’ve met were very fun to talk to. Of course there are weirdos from time to time but you can’t really avoid it since it’s the internet haha. Anyways, Yuzu is relatively new and expect bugs. Hopefully they add more community chats and fix the distance filter.

was so hyped to see Yuzu on my tiktok for you page. i’ve always wanted a social app focused on my community, as it can be hard to make new friends in a big city. since Yuzu was recently released, there aren’t a TON of people on it like other apps. however, the community chats are already active with daily convos. super pleased with my experience so far and can’t wait for the space to grow!

I like how Yuzu looks, and I think the Asian focus is a nice touch.
HOWEVER, the sign in function is broken. I was suddenly signed out and I could not sign back in. The only option to sign in was with my phone number and the SMS one time password could not be verified. I am currently locked out of my account. If there is a server wide issue, I think this app management should send an email to all registered users.
It’s still the first week of their launch, so I’m gonna refrain from giving them a 1 star.

I have had fun on Yuzu and it’s exciting to something catered to the AAPI community. However, the amount of Asians vs. non-Asians I see on Yuzu is about the same, especially as I have swiped more.

It would also be cool if you could narrow preferences down to ethnicity.

My other complaint is there seems to be a large number of bugs. My preferences aren’t being reflected in the profiles I’m show (people from much farther away are being shown).

I just got matched with someone that was just looking for a friend while I wanted a date. It even tells you which section they swiped right on. And then they give you a cheeky "vibes can change". Talk about an uphill battle trying to skirt the friendzone.

I came to this app through an ad I got on Instagram, and ever since the last three days I met some of the coolest people on it. I’ve met someone I think that will hopefully be in my life forever as well as some great people in the community to hangout for brunch, raves and having lots of fun with! And they do a lot to maintain safety and keeping it fun for everyone!

I love the user experience of Yuzu! They have open chat room for different communities to join and interact. I’ve gotten to meet a lot of potential dates this way and the dating pool is so much better.

I really like the idea and concept but I’m not a fan of the fact that it’s parent company is match group. Match group is the parent company of Tinder, and all the other dating apps that I presume is for profit and not for people finding a genuine connection I.e. putting certain eligible matches behind the pay wall. I think that will spill over in Yuzu as well, so I deleted it.

Idk if it’s because my phone is too small but after I put my roots it asked if I want friends or friends and relationship, the continue button is underneath the “friends&Relationship” option so I can’t continue or hit the button

I’ve been meeting some cool people on here but my main gripe is the distance filter. I put it to be within 20 miles from my location but one of two errors can occur

1) I get people from 1000+ miles outside of my current location
2) Yuzu says that the person is one mile away from me when in reality the person is across the country

I love how Yuzu is catered to Asians though! It has come cool features and beyond the distance measurement has some amazing potential to be a great app

Distance between matches/other users is busted. it'll say like 1 mile away and then we're like hundreds. i'm sure this will be fixed soon though and will update my review when it does!!

Sure iPhone SE is not a model a lot of people use, but having Yuzu not made for all iPhone is just bad design. I can’t even go past the initial stages because the continue button is blocked by the selection whether I wanna make friends or make friends + date. Can’t rate an app high when I cannot even test the basic functionality of it 🤷

I love the concept and it’s a great app - but the preferences is so buggy! It’s shows people outside your set distance, people younger/older than your age preferences… what’s the point of having these set if it doesn’t work!

I’m really happy to have gotten the message that Yuzu is here! However is Yuzu specifically for asian people or can anyone outside the community join as well??

I cannot get into Yuzu since it keeps saying “We are not able to process your registration at this time. Please try again later.” I’ve tried to register multiple times over the course of a week. None of them have worked. I will review again or delete this once this is solved.

For the most part it’s a pretty solid app only bad thing is the inaccurate dating radius. Example have your dating distance set to 40miles but still people 1000+ miles away.

there was a LOT of underage people there, and pedos. They were talking about illegal gambling to a 13 year old.

The unlimited swiping is cool — it gets VERY boring after some time though, and there’s like a 000.1% of getting a match.

There’s a lot of non-Asians in Yuzu and people pretending to be Asian. It’s encouraging Americans to be a koreaboo pretty much.

Needs moderators in chat, people just talk about whatever they want pretty much.

They dropped a photo of a discord link in chat, and told the 13 year old to join it. It was stupid.

I tried it and its ok. Though a lot of people here arent asian.. im not getting whats the point of making a seperate theme advertised for asians when a good like 40% arent asian.

Love the concept of Yuzu but sad there Re so many bugs to deal with. I matched with someone but it doesn’t show and i feel like my likes aren’t going through since the profiles keep reappearing. Also location issues. Luckily the chat room works

Specifically got Yuzu to look for Asians but about 50 percent of the people I see on here are either African American or of some other descent other than Asian which defeats the whole purpose of Yuzu . Idk if it’s because Yuzu is new, but there are so many people located hundreds or thousands of miles away.

I’m happy that there is an app that is built for the Asian American community, last app that I can remember is East Meet East before it became a camcorder site. However, it is absolutely bonkers that all the users I am seeing on this are hundreds of miles away! Hopefully it will get better when Yuzu gets more users but it’s ridiculous that even when my preferences are set at 20-30 miles I will get people 1400 miles away!!!

It’s a great idea, but the location issues are a joke. I set my locations to be maximum 20 miles within <5 year age gap and Yuzu would often recommend me people 300 miles away outside my age gap. I already updated to the latest version, but the problem persists. Can Yuzu developers please show people only within my parameters and preferences?

Also community wise, people also rarely reply back, but that is outside Yuzu developer’s control.

Not too many Asians on the dating section and the distance option doesn’t do anything. 97% of the people who actually pop up are 1500+ miles from me even though in my settings limited it to 1-55 miles from me. There was even one time it said someone was 1 mile from me and then once we matched it swapped to 2500 bc he lives in New York while I’m in Cali????

A majority of Yuzu is just people who are looking for Asians who aren’t Asian. Specifically females fetishizing Asians and are from complete different backgrounds. Another issue I find with Yuzu is that it’s lacking countries. Specifically Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan is a country in Central Asia that’s filled with Asians. My only issue is with the countries and the fact that Yuzu is being abused by other ethnicities and races for fetishization purposes. Other than that it’s good

Yuzu has a good concept and a good foundation, but it needs a big improvement when it comes to matching. Nobody can see who likes them until they match. There’s no messaging options available until matches are made. I feel being able to view the profiles of people who like/wave at you, let’s you see for yourself who they are as people. Having no messaging option available until you match with someone and not being able to see who likes you really limits pretty much everything.

I wish there was a way to fix the bug when it came to distance bc as much as i love the variety, it breaks my heart to find out they're 100+ miles away 😭

also, im not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but when i try to change my bio, the preview is showing the old bio i had? so im not sure which bio others can see, if it's the old one or new one

Just discover your app! Needs improvement with the buttons especially after selecting your roots, it doesn’t move past selecting your preferences why you would Yuzu for / the “social/ social dating “ part needs to able to continue in order for Yuzu to be successful

Maybe it’s because I’m used to apps like bumble but I’m not a big fan of the UI. Also filtering doesn’t work, so even tho I filter to only people near me it gives me people from far away. I wish it was a bit more like bumble where if there isn’t any people in the filtered specifics you put it would tell you. Another thing is notifications don’t really work in Yuzu . When somebody texts me I don’t get it till I open Yuzu the next day.

I got Yuzu when it came out, so I know they are still making improvements but I hope that it gets better otherwise I might end up not using it unfortunately.

Swiping left and right both deny. Gotta hit the hand. So it’s not like Tinder. So I was rejecting without knowing. It should tell you red or green or something to indicate. It has a lot of little bugs overall but that was annoying.

I would like to keep using it. Kinda still better than east meets east.

I like the idea of Yuzu but whats the point of being able to state your gender if you aren’t cis, but then you have to choose if you get shown as only a “man” or “woman” to people 😔 Devs please fix this so I can amend my rating or something, like I know Yuzu can playfully lean into our shared common stereotypes but not being inclusive doesn’t need to be one of them 🥲
