I’ve been using TanTan for a while and have been a paying member. Here is the reality of TanTan: yes, you can match with real girls, but there are SO MANY fake accounts pitching all kinds of schemes and scams, it is not worth the time to sort through the matches. And here is the rub: these fake accounts can report you and then you are banned from TanTan , even as a paid member. No refund, just a permanent ban. I believe this is what happened to me, I don’t send offensive messages, even to the scammers, and then one day I’m banned with a generic message from TanTan . It’s just ridiculous.

So if you are going to pay for “premium” features, do the month to month or 3 months at a time, because you may get banned anytime. Or use another dating app because TanTan just isn’t worth tour time or money.

I before using tan tan so much and also sometimes pay for it. But it’s really bad for send a message, even message must pay. So what’s different between TanTan and another apps? I before thought tan tan better than another apps but from now I delete TanTan.
For you who read this post; please please please don’t download TanTan because TanTan day by day , month by month let you pay more and more. I explain my 4 years experiences on TanTan.

This China app is fake and all AIs. TanTan is definitely not 5 stars if you take all the fake account ya out TanTan is probably an average of 1.7 - 2.3 stars only. Personally think because of how China like to fake AI profiles to mess with people TanTan should be 1 star or even taken off since it’s all computer. But yea it’s NOT A 5 STAR APP! New Update!! this app will hack your personal photos. I deleted a photo because this app keeps on messing with my profile. I ended up deleting the photo since this app is keeps on trying to control my photos. After 15 min later I realize this app went back found that picture and put it back on even though it was deleted! Disgusting 🤮
Communist will hack your phone for personal information be careful!!

I have been getting a badge app icon notification EVERY DAY at the same time when there is no match or message activity. I can only assume this is to increase app traffic and boost their Monthly Active Users numbers. I already discontinued my subscription to VIP and don’t use TanTan much anymore.

There’s ton of profiles with just one pic, blurry pix, blank profiles, and of course fake profiles too. Everyone that matched me logs out of TanTan as soon as the match is paired. Like people seriously just get on there to swipe, match, and log out. Save yourself the time and money, it’s not worth it at all. It’s the lowest quality of all the dating apps and I’ve used all dating apps out there. I just deleted my profile after 3 days. I reported a profile with an actor’s pic 3 times, they banned the profile really quick the first two times. Now I just reported another one, I even included a screenshot of the actual’s google image and info, they didn’t do anything.

I feel like TanTan is lowkey racist, I had strikes everytime I uploaded a new picture and now my account is banned after I uploaded my recent picture! I’m black and there is mostly Asians on TanTan and I feel like the company doesn’t want me to use their app, I did not violate anything at all if anything the men on that app have said disgusting things and I just ignore it! I haven’t done anything to be banned. Wow. When I tried to figure out the reason I was banned they couldn’t even give me a direct answer and said I violated their rules, even though I provided proof that I was completely harmless and didn’t do anything.

Please do better the Asian man and woman on the live stream are rude say a lot of racist comments I was watching many of there live streams and they all kept basically remaining me I am black my classmate was tell me please leave TanTan they are call you names there no color person who a live streamer I was try to become one TanTan won't let me do better for real a lot of matches are catfish too

Whatever algorithm they are using to up sell their super vip is utterly ridiculous. It is in accurate and downright fraud like. Do not upgrade! Do not pay anything! It will be a waste of money. It is just as much of a ghost town as it is if you were a free member. this app is a ripoff and a scam. Don’t fall for their ploys. I count this as a loss and I’ll never see this money back. I know after 5 days of trying I wasn’t going to get no where closer than I was as a free member. Hopefully the amount I paid went to a family in need. Upgrade at your own risk but don’t believe their tactics when they push you to upgrade

I used this app for dating and I met someone in a different city of mine in London. We were chatting online for few days and that person was fake. She was he and all this time he was stealing my personal information.

I am very sad that this app can’t be trusted as it’s verified profiles are not actually verified. And people use them for wrong purposes.

So that person called me on hangouts and made me do dirty things and recorded me. Then he threaten me to share that video with everyone I know, my friends and family etc. I would like to say that I will sue this app for not verifying members correctly and putting others in danger.

I was banned for using the words “friends with benefits “ ,” hook up” and “one night stand” too many times. This is a dating site that’s trying to censor casual dating which I’d imagine what a lot of people are on here looking for. Even if you’re not, isn’t it a good idea for people to be honest and up front with each other so you’re not wasting each other’s time? Can’t do that here because you can’t even use those words without it being automatically recalled and you get sent a warning.

Stay away from TanTan!!!!

I just updated and there was an incredibly long wait on a screen that said, please wait while we update your data. This should take less than a minute.

After over 5 minutes nothing happened. I closed and reopened TanTan to get a cycle of slowly opening followed by shutting back off. I powered off and restarted my phone to get the same.

My next thought is to uninstall and reinstall but will i lose all my conversations and likes etc?

Just too many. What’s worse: many of them are scammers. The company is either purposely creating fake profiles to retain users or allowing fake accounts to be active. Either way, super shady. You don’t acquire and retain users by conducting shady business. As far as I see, this is a desperate move and I strongly recommend not paying a dime because the company is likely to collapse at any time.

Tons of fake accounts/scams. Their only attempt to solve this problem is popping up same warning again and again whenever they detect you matched with a scam. But you are forced to sit through for like ten seconds and can’t close the pop up. So every time you match with a scam you have to waste extra ten seconds reading the same meaningless message. Worst mechanism ever. Why are we punished when we’re not accountable for those scammers? I guess it’s true when no one’s using TanTan we won’t have to worry about scams anymore

TanTan works well enough, but two years later and it still copies whatever you have on your clipboard. This is dangerous. You aren’t allowed to screenshot profiles or conversations, which is good for privacy, but a pain if trying to translate

Okay hear me out.

The concept is a great one and I enjoy reading everyone’s profiles and matching with people in my area. However, since the short time I’ve been using TanTan , there have been several instances of people trying to run scams. I understand that there Is a lot that goes into developing and running an app but is there any way that scammers can be detected and removed? If not, there will be a lot of people uninstalling and making the people who genuinely want to meet each other suffer.

TanTan has a bug that, my chat history disappeared suddenly. I contacted with support email and they asked for my detailed infos. But, when they received my info, they did Nothing just sent me some useless, unactionable and irresponsible words. Like: ur chat disappeared maybe because the one unmatched (that is totally wrong, as if u unmatched, they history will still be there). And I replied to ask for more info and a number I can call for help, then there is no reply anymore, I think there is totally no customer support and TanTan is buggy. Terrible experience!!!

At first, I didn’t really expect to meet someone really serious on TanTan because TanTan was used for hook up for most ppl
But I met the love of my life. He’s sweet smart clever big and tall.

I seriously wanna write this here today. 😁 I never expect that I would meet love of my life here. It’s our wedding anniversary today. I can’t believe this app was the actually the reason behind it. Thank you this app to give me such a beautiful life. You guys deserve more than 5 stars. ❣️

OMG! I love TanTan. I am attracted to Asian men and it’s so hard to find Asian men that are attracted to black women where I like so TanTan has been HEAVEN for me. And a lot of them do live in my state not too far and I’m just like where have y’all been hiding. They guys actually respond and aren’t super sexual like on Tinder and other dating apps

I had used platform for over a month and paid my fees. I mostly said hello to my friends then I got banned. Rogue users reported me but this app never validated information. I never asked for services or offered services to my friends. I never used incorrect or offensive language. BEWARE of platform, it’s a 21 century scam. Customer service never bothered to validate my information or give me an opportunity. TanTan developers did enjoy my $50 that I spent for the month.. If you want to play around for month Getting band is a sure thing. This company will go away in five years because of their deceptive practice. Read the posts before you decide to download TanTan . There is truth in the negative experience of customers. What a joke, I’m banned and this app is asking me to pay fees to see my matches. Scam alert!!!

TanTan is a huge security and privacy risk. After initially allowing access to photos to create your profile, you cannot revoke access. I went to my phone privacy settings to manually remove access. But in TanTan I can still access my photos without any warning or request. Every other app respects your privacy settings, and if you revoke photo access TanTan will ask you for access again. Not this app.

Even worse, I deleted TanTan and tried to redownload it. Surely it would reset all settings and access on my phone? NOPE. Complete access to my photos. What’s worse, bc TanTan never asked for access, I don’t even have it as an option anymore in my phone privacy settings.

I liked TanTan at first. Because my preference is on TanTan but constantly getting reporting and banned for no reason is truly ridiculous. I never been banned off a dating app because guys get mad because I found out they are fake. this app is letting people on this with fake pictures. All my pictures are real but I kept getting reported smh. I haven’t been on TanTan all day and got banned. TanTan is a joke frfr. I decided to give TanTan another chance and use my Facebook to connect to it so if it gets a banned again then I really feel like the developers need to go back to the drawing board. Because there should be no way someone gets banned if their actual Facebook account is connected to it. There’s all the proof you need on the Facebook account. Smh

Again same problem. I don’t need to know “how many people have liked me”. Please don’t send me this notification everyday. Sometimes receive it twice a day. Too annoying, irritating, bothers me a lot with a sound came out especially when waiting someone’s message with disappointed when seeing this notice: how many bla bla bla have liked you. And than my app i have a red dot just like receive a new message, won’t go away until I go in TanTan . So I won’t know that dot is receive new msg or the not important notice sigh.
Please give me option to opts out it because I really don’t care about how many people have liked me, I really don’t care, I’m serious. All I want notification about when receive new message or maybe get a new match. That all matter!

Too annoying when keep receiving notification from this app saying “how many guys have liked you” few times a day which I feel irritate(I don’t need to know about it), please don’t send me this information again. And there is no option for me to opts this out, grrr. Make me want to delete the account. I just want to receive notification when receive new messages. Please fix it!

Extremely unpleasant experience with this software.
It’s a Saturday beautiful afternoon when I received email about TanTan’s charge for my subscription.

I deleted TanTan months ago and before I delete, I explicitly selected:”delete all my info”. It suppose to be the case that this software delete all my info and stop billing me.

BUT, the software did the opposite: my info was kept. I got charged twice. I have to call iTunes customer service to reverse the charges( it took me 15mins if a beautiful Saturday). I have to download TanTan again. You know what? It counts as a download! I bet TanTan will record my action as “old customer comes back” and show their inventor that they have one more active customer! Inflated numbers. this app is under Momo. I just inflated Momo’s monthly actively user by one. And I don’t think I’m the only one. As a public trading company, this app/Momo tricked me. Their monthly usage data is inflated.
As a public trading company, they treat user’s free will of privacy as trash.

I strongly suggest ITunes review the misconduct of this software!

Again, as a public traded company, they should be honest and treat their customer well. But what this app did, was a direct violation to my free will.

Mainly fake profiles , I’ve met some girls from there but very few . TanTan has a feature to verify one’s account but I think they some have bypass that because I’ve found many fake profiles with the verified icon on their profiles . I think in a big city you’ll have better results. Beware of their pictures, most Chinese women modify their pics a lot, longer chins, bigger eyes, whiter skin , MOST of them do this . I’ve had some decent experiences , bad ones and mostly no experiences at all cuz there are too many fake profiles. I verified my profile by taking a picture of myself, I don’t know if they do the same, maybe TanTan developers let it slide for female users to increase the number of women on TanTan .

Worst customer service ever and horrible experience. I have deleted my account. Be aware that they ask you to pay by iTunes and they do not activate your account or service. I paid $20 dollars (¥140 Rmb) for “who like you service” and the option was never activate or fixed. I tried for almost 2 months to talk with a human in that company and nobody respond. They don’t have English customers service. The communication is very poor between Apple and TanTan. I sent pictures of the Apple receipts including a screen shot of the payment until July 2019, however, they did not care and fixed my account. I asked for refund and nobody respond. They only have the stupid FAQ option without accurate responses. They took my money and I never had the service. There are many fake and scammers. Please do not register. This is a bad application. They take your money for nothing. I lost my money. $$😡😡

TanTan has too many prostitutes on it. I’ve reported accounts many times to this app and nothing is being done about it. The same accounts with different profile photos keep appearing. I will notify the police in China about this. TanTan isn’t doing enough to follow the rules and regulations of the Chinese internet.

Edit - the developer responded with “please notify us of any inappropriate accounts” but I would be spending too much of my time if I had to notify you for every prostitution account I encounter. You are the developer and it is YOUR job to stop these prostitutes from continually creating different accounts once you block their old ones. The customer shouldn’t have to spend their entire time having to notify you. If you are unable to regulate TanTan and verify accounts to stop the prostitution then you shouldn’t be hosting TanTan . It is your responsibility, not ours. The problem is too widespread and too time consuming for the people using TanTan to notify you everytime.

As reported by many other users in their reviews, this company’s behavior is fraudulent. As other users have also reported, my account was “permanently banned” about 1 month after I signed up and paid the fees. I was accused by this app of violating their terms of service. I have not even come close to violating any of the terms of service or parts thereof. I have not posted any offensive photos, texts, or other materials, no advertising, done nothing illegal or offensive, and I have been polite, considerate, and respectful with all members. this app’s actions are fraudulent. Their refusal to refund the subscriptions fees is outright theft. And, beware, anytime a member sent me an address for an alternate chat app, like WeChat, WhatsApp, or Line, a warning message appears that basically says that the user might themselves be engaging in fraudulent activities. This company is a fraud. See many other similar complaints. Use it and pay the fees at your own risk. When I complained via an app message and e-mail about my account being banned, they simply resent the message banning my account without guidance as to what I had done - which is nothing!

If you are a beautiful lollipop of a human being, then you shouldn’t have much of a problem. I’m an American And you encounter a lot of people who are OK with overcoming the language barriers. If the people don’t like you, they can have you banned for harassment. The review process is very one sided. They just make the accusation, and “bam”, you’re banned. I’ve had people straight up tell me that they don’t like Europeans and whites. I popped off back at them. Boom. Banned. There is no translator feature for the dialog boxes, unlike most other dating apps that exist in Asia. This is clearly designed for Chinese, by Chinese. Conclude what you want from my story but I’ve had a better time with other apps That let you be frank and direct with people without getting the ban hammer dropped on you.

Not bad for free, though I’ve not met anyone yet. Many profiles have information in Chinese. I don’t read Chinese being a California native. If any part of their profile is in Chinese, I am not interested due to concerns of cultural barriers. Just a personal preference based on the vestigial attachment to the language. I have to swipe left if I see non-English characters in either the name or occupation. Really quite tedious and I get bored of the process quickly. A language filter would fix this and afford me the opportunity to get further through the stack, increasing my odds of a match. With this feature and if I met a few women (TanTan has to be effective) TanTan would be FOUR STARS.

I paid to see who liked me. I sometimes get notifications saying a number of people liked me, and weekly reports saying a certain number of people liked me. However, the “who liked me” list is always empty. I complained about this but they did not do anything about it and Apple won’t refund me for some reason. Also, TanTan sends you annoying notifications EVERY DAY. I want to turn them off but can’t without turning notifications off for everything else including new messages. I’ve met a few great people through TanTan before but after these crappy changes it’s just not worth the trouble.

this app used to offer us simple buttons to perform basic operations. Those old school buttons were right on the GUI below each profile picture and were very straightforward and easy to use. Each button is clearly labeled with its function: Like, Pass, etc. Sliding up the profile picture revealed additional pictures of that person.

Now, for some reasons, this app developers feel that they outsmart everyone else and desire to force the users to get used to those wonky, absurd, so-called gestures which the developers made up out of nowhere. Slide right for Like, slide left for Pass, without any explicit instruction for anything. It’s even more bizarre what we must do to see additional pictures. We have to extremely accurately click right on the little tiny scroll bars to scroll to next picture. If you accidentally scroll left, just like you scroll for next picture in almost any other App, Ouch! You passed that person! Want to get him/her back? PAY FOR PREMIUM!!!

this app, why do you feel entitled to be different with what everyone is accustomed to? Or is it because you deliberately want users to Pass a person, when they actually want to see more pictures of that person, so you can allure more users to pay for your Premium?

I’m fed up.

At the start, I only really downloaded this app due to my friends doing it. I wasn’t too seriously looking for companionship or anything, but I find myself having good time with TanTan . I’ve met nothing but nice people on here, though apparently the experience differs according to my friends’ experiences. If there was anything that I feel would improve someone experience, I guess it would be a prompt to actual spark dialogue if you super like someone. According to my friends, it’s annoying when someone super likes you but doesn’t actually say anything. Of course whether this is something that can actually be implemented, I don’t know.

I have used this app for a bit now. I really like TanTan to get to know different women. But know what you want because if you don’t then you will be disappointed. Some guys want a serious relationship and some guys want to find play. Whatever your motive is you need to pay attention to profile details before you spend on that VIP or that Super Like.

Yes it is true that you can find fake women, fake profiles, prostitutes, and other unwanted material. But the software does not get any better if we are not reporting such things to the developer. I have nearly been scammed once and I reported it to this app. They were kind enough to help me and ban the accounts linked to the scammer. (Ex. The scammers tried to use an email in the description and say that they are not on this app often or not at all)

But I believe I found somebody on this app. And I also made a couple of good friends. In my opinion you don’t need to spend a lot of money to find a few good friends and a few good potential women (or guys if you’re a girl). Be patient and don’t get caught up spending when you’re done finding.

Overall, this app is a good app and I would recommend it. Thanks, this app.

Tan Tan is almost completely fake profiles and scammers trying to get you to invest in shares, 'like' something of theirs or click on links to something. I matched with dozens of girls and not a single one was legitimate. Fake. Scams. Avoid.

Horrible App. Scammers Most of women inside is fake profile. They will try to scam you anyways. From my experienced, Mostly of account use Beautiful Chinese ethnicity women picture are fake!! Please beware especially if they said they working in finance or investment industry, 100% scammer.

Chalison Abu on TanTan app contacted me and said she lived an Austin Texas and was going to visit me in Houston Texas. Sent money for Greyhound to PayPal email address sdrewc18@redacted. It belonged to (Shelley Cobb) who was supposed to be her friend that she lives with. She relocated from Thailand supposedly. She Skyped with me from ID: live:.cid.866413d730
