Got some fantastic shots that looked very much like me a couple of the styles were empty with no pictures which is disappointing after wasting style credits on them, and it looks like you can do a couples one but when you create there is only the option of man, woman, dog or cat . Over all it’s a win

I submitted my photos. I got the notice that it would take an hour or so. It is now 30 hours later with no results. I understand things can get overloaded. I'm not particularly annoyed that it's taken 30 hours to get no results. I am annoyed that the only option is to click Refresh and be told that "It's taking longer than usual, sorry."

More information would go a long way. Something like, "Demand is unexpectedly high, we're struggling to bring more capacity online. There are [large number] of requests ahead of you in line."

I'll happily update this review when I have some results to review.

This is my second review. First review was also one star. I CANNOT DELETE MY DATA OR ACCOUNT! I’ve gotten two bot generated replies by email telling me reinstall Retrato but this does not fix it. Nobody answers my request do them to delete my account and data. Nobody in person replies. Twice I’ve had this issue. Worse yet, the AI turns me into someone completely different even with different colored hair! Not one looks like me yet. Plus Retrato glitches. $10 so far down the drain. I’d give zero stars if I could. Reading all the reviews nobody else can delete their accounts either for the past month. What is going on?!?!

- “try again” is not working, when loading photos
- i had to pay twice, as there was notice to load photos without regular glasses. As a first result i got almost all ai photos whith my eyes different from each other on one picture, not realistic at all(((

Majority of the photos did not look like me but it’s clear the AI was struggling to read my ethnicity. But the few that were accurate were really nice and worthwhile for a few bucks.

it is dishonest to have the user of the free trial upload the pictures before announcing a not-so-small “small fee as a condition to try Retrato . the result is handing over personal information and loads of pictures for nothing, unless you pay. because even the examples they show you before payment are ridiculous and useless.
not warning about what is an unavoidable payment makes the free trial NOT free, which is an absolutely dishonest business practice.

I wanted to be impressed with Retrato by the given reviews but it was just bad. The photos were really distorted and even the hair was completely two different styles. I don’t think the ai has learned enough about enough people to be good. I wanted to update headshots but not only do the photos not look realistic, they’re horrifying! If you do not have straight hair and blue eyes, this is not Retrato for you, it does not adapt.

I purchased this but wish I hadn’t. The photos definitely took parts of me but were so different that it looked definitely like AI. It couldn’t handle the gap in my teeth and gave my breast the augmentation I’ve always wished for. If you want a laugh or you see how your future children might look, go ahead and grab it, but if you’re looking for photos to use realistically, save your money. For the results I got, it should’ve been a free app.

I am really disappointed in the results. From the examples Retrato provided, the person in the portrait looked just like the submitted selfie. Well, the portraits I got looked nothing like me. It changed my face shape (gave me a cleft chin, slanted eyes, and very plump lips.) My hair color went from blonde to brown. I can’t use these pics at all. A waste of my money and I’m sad about it.

I followed the instructions, paid, uploaded images, and when I came back to check on the process (app said it would take an hour or so), the photos it generated were the default set seen in the apps advertising. I tried to reach out to support via their email address, but it was returned saying no such email address exists.

Very good app, as on 6/23 still has a few glitches when creating fingers and sometimes has a problem distinguishing skin complexion. Overall, it’s a great AI tool.

It’s very hit and miss but those hits really bug me because I paid for them and I hate them. Autumn made me look SO OLD and I was really looking forward to that one. Autumn muse made me look Asian. Bohemian made me look like I have an eating disorder. The others I listed just look nothing like me. Zero %.

Really cool AI that gives you looks that you would never spend money to take. Fun way of seeing yourself and it is really cheap.

Here, find TWENTY different selfies of yourself and wait for them all to slowly load before we even tell you it’s gonna cost you $5.

Then the delete account function FAILS with an error (“save got an unexpected keyword argument skip_validation”).

Professional software that is def not just capitalizing on current trends.

Not worth it. It says error when I try to delete the account after purchasing. Not cool. Plus the Ai isn’t that great. Multiple pictures with messed up faces. You have to pay for each style of pics which ha about 6 pics in them each

I’ve tried a few apps like this, but this app is by far the best one. It handled my glasses perfectly, with no distortions whatsoever. Truly excellent!

I thought Retrato was great initially . However, I wasted four credits trying to do glamour photos to no avail. They took 4 credits and gave me NO images in return ! Smh.

I wrote support and attached the empty albums and still NOTHING ! I am very disappointed.

Paid for app, uploaded 28 photos. Get pics back that look like a distant relative. App now wants credits to do other things. I feel duped

I have four fingers in one photo and another photo has my hands disfigured. Retrato will not allow my to give the disfigured photos a hands down. After my awful photos, I attempted to delete my account. Retrato won’t allow my to delete the account.

Bad design and a time waste. If it’s going to be paid, mention it in the start not after I’ve selected photos and I’m ready to generate an image. Plus pricing is very steep.

I never take any pictures by myself . I was able to find 15 pictures and basically crop out other people in the photo and Retrato created so many nice pictures. Now I don’t have to get my picture taken for my professional photo at my job, which I was really dreading and putting off. I don’t have confidence in front of cameras, and these pictures make it look like I do . Thank you so much!

Retrato is really pretty good, but after the original poses, if you choose “seaside””boho” “autumn” or any other poses, things get really weird and unnatural looking. Some of the poses even changed my ethnicity! I was really happy with the initial set of poses I chose though, so I’ll still give Retrato 4 stars. Plus, it’s not a monthly subscription and the price for poses is pretty reasonable. I’d say Retrato is really pretty good! One thing I’d like the developer to change though is not to change hair colors unless someone really wants different colored hair. I like some of the poses, but I’m a blond, not a brunette.

These images are super cool. I have not experienced any issues with bugs in Retrato , but being such a new app, I would expect there to be kinks to work out. I’ve tried Lensa as well. I think my photos here are more realistic and I love the professional looks offered.

Submitted about 17 photos of myself and received fantastic professional headshots! And some fun ones too of course! One of them is my new profile photo! Beyond impressed with the power of AI. Definitely recommend that you give it a try.

I am very happy with my new headshots thanks to this app! You need to submit at least 20 photos to get good results. Take the time to select good photos and if you need to, take some selfies from different angles for optimal results.

Retrato was fun to use easy to use. Intuitive and turnaround time was rather quick. The only reason I didn’t give it up for five stars is because I didn’t feel that some of the images looked like me at all, whereas there were some images that were spot on a version of me.

Retrato was a very nice surprise! It takes a bit of time until the photos are generated, but waiting for an hour was worth it! I used for the professional style, but you have 11 more styles to choose from!

I would like to be able to review the functionality of Retrato, however the first tokens downloaded it I allowed access to select photos but Retrato kept throwing an error saying I had to give it access to all of my photos. The second time once I was able to select photos none of them would upload. I tried this many times and even redownloaded, but every image upload is a failure.

I wasn’t sure how it would work because I don’t take a lot of selfies of have many pictures with just my face. But I really found some gems among all the ones I got back! It’s so neat what technology can do!

Worth every penny. There are certainly many generations that aren’t accurate, but there are also several that are scary good. I can’t believe technology has come this far already.

Had a lot of fun generating both photorealistic images as well as movie and game stylized ones. In terms of gems-to-duds ratio output from the service, there’s a surprising number of gems. By far the best and easiest to use image generative AI I’ve used so far

This is simply incredible. I got a ton of really excellent results in many different styles. Highly recommend giving this a try.

So Retrato does some good photo mock-ups. But that’s where it ends for me.

The cost associated only allows you 1 profile. Meaning if I want to do a profile for my wife or kid I basically have to pay for Retrato again. This is not disclosed.

Furthermore, I cannot add additional photos of myself to my existing profile in order to make it better. I added 12 or so photos, some of the output photos were decent but some were wildly off. So naturally I wanted to add more of my photos to increase the training data set.

Nope - sorry. You have to pay again.

I wish they would just let me pay for Retrato once, or even do a .99 cent monthly fee and then let me use it to my hearts content.

First, the AI photos are GARBAGE. Second, I’ve tried multiple times to delete my account and it won’t let me. I’ve been in contact with support and the issue still hasn’t be resolved so my card keeps getting charged. I’ve been in contact with Apple to fix this since the folks at this app won’t help. AVOID.

Very buggy app and the picture has no resemblance to me at all

Thanks to this app, I have a new “va-va-voom” profile picture on LinkedIn. I couldn’t believe how Retrato was able to capture my biracial features: my nose, my lips, my eyes. I’m beyond impressed. Moving forward, I’ll continue to use Retrato to update my professional photos. Retrato just saved me $400-$500 which is around the cost of hiring a professional photographer for business headshots. Not to mention my time and the back-and-forth when it comes to editing and selecting the right picture. I’m going to try this on my cat as well. Thank you, this app! ❤️

Hated the output and tried to delete the account shows an error.

I’m bald. 95% of the photos it generated had hair. Obviously can’t use this for headshots.

Cool app, I was able to generate a LinkedIn photo that looks like me and now my profile looks really professional, very helpful product 🔥

Paid the fee and then received a notification the photos were ready. It’s been hours of trying to see them but I get an “unexpected error” or “error with our servers” message and can’t see anything.

I purchased the basic for 4.99 and it did absolutely nothing all I got when they were ready was a black screen even swiping it showed nothing. Just black pictures. Such a waste.

Besides the fact that many of the features don’t work and just spin and spin. My main issue is that the “delete account” button suspiciously does not work. And email support will only go to the email app, which I do not have. There is no readily available contact service information. There is no service contact information on the site. This overall makes the experience very shady and deceptive.

Purchased the $4.99 session, uploaded my photos, and waited patiently as Retrato said it would take 20 minutes to generate the pics.

Reached out to their email support the same day after a few hours of no changes, and am still waiting on a response. Longest 20 minutes I’ve ever waited.

Don’t waste your money.

Used to be great until it started constantly glitching, Retrato freezes, and returning zero results, as a grey screen. They obv and unfortunately can’t handle operation at scale.

I paid my $4.95, got dressed up and took 20+ photos on the this app App, and waited and waited. The photos disappeared and had to dress up Again and retake the photos, this time on my iPhone. I uploaded 25-30 pictures, Multiple times and Waited and Waited.
Nothing! Nothing but waisted Time and $4.95. Buy a coffee and receive Much More Satisfaction than this Headache!

Nothing seems to work anymore. Processing times are insanely long if they ever complete at all. Image uploading doesn’t always work properly. Huge waste of money.

Takes your money and doesn’t work. Simple as that. Upload photos and just get error codes. No customer service

Shame on me for falling for Retrato. I submitted over 30 photos and I chose over 7 styles. Not ONE looked remotely like me. Believe me when I say it’s the worst $5.00 I ever spent.

this app advertised very well to entice people to join. On the other hand, customer support is not helpful at all. Images do not look like me. Some images depict me as a older male when in reality I’m not old smh. On a couple photographs my hands and facial expressions are not human, my hands / face had reptile features. When I compare my images to the people that where advertised in instagram they’re not comparable, mine look like a joke. I recommend if you’re really trying to use a professional photograph to use for a professional website or profile actually use a real photographer to actually capture the true essence of your beauty because there is only one version of you which is unique. Use Fiverr to negotiate prices with Real photographers. I don’t have nothing against Retrato, but what I do have a problem with is being charged a fee to get horrible quality results that don’t resemble me.

Retrato can be a lot of fun if you go in with correct expectations. It’s pretty glitchy and hasn’t smoothed out the bumps yet. It creates some funny pictures that are good for a laugh or a a joke but nothing that could be used for anything more than that.

Most of the images look like a different person with different facial features, hair and eye color, and body shape.

Go in with these expectations before dropping $5 on this.

Retrato was very glitchy when I first started using it. I would wait hours for the photos only for them to not get my skin color right or have me with half straight, half textured hair. Looked crazy and was discouraging, but their support is awesome and was ALWAYS responsive when I complained here and there about issues I was having. Now I’m on my second batch of uploads and the results are so great and exciting. I’d say 90% of the time I get at least a few flipping good photos to choose from in each batch. I’m very satisfied with Retrato and the developers. It’s fun to play around with… seeing a slightly younger and thinner me in endless scenes.
📌A tip that MAY help you get better results on your own is to create a new this app set and upload several of your previous generated images that you dig and that really resemble you along with your other photos. I found doing this gave me much more realistic results…especially in the more creative categories. It is an added cost, but in the spirit of fun…one home brewed coffee instead of a sbucks run and your credits are paid for. I would LOVE to see more styles to choose from and a better interface for remixing/prompting bc it’s tight in there.

But still a 10/10 from me at this point 🤘🏽

Retrato doesn't work!!!

I tried to upload my photos with my Wi-Fi cellular data and even tried with VPN and it didn’t work. It gets stuck in 99% or100%.

Can’t access any of my pictures for days now, keep getting an error message

I payed to get the picture I asked. It charged 5 dollars but I did not get it. I even sent an email to them and they said that they couldn’t refund.

Have purchased credits twice; uploaded new photos, and waited an hour for them to process in Retrato . When I came back to view the result, my photos were not processed, and I was prompted to begin the process, and purchase credits again. No response from customer service

30 pictures later and the AI looks NOTHING like me!
Waste of 5 bucks.
