I just moved back to PNW after 20 years away and was shocked at the state of transit options in the area (for a region that prides itself on being so green, everything is 120% car based!) in general, but payment options specifically.
Every other major metro area, I wave my phone or watch as I walk past and the machines take care of it. Not here! You have to buy a special card, that’s only available in limited places, and you have to pre fill it as you go.
That said, I respect myORCA as the system admins have acknowledged these issues and have a roadmap to address them. Granted, that roadmap is long and winding to avoid stepping on the toes of any of the corrupt, unnecessary profit takers along the way, but they have a plan to at least make the payment system better.
Except myORCA, which is very much limited as the other reviewers have noted, just locked me out, saying my credentials are invalid. The help system ONLY offers me a password reset, but that says my email address isn’t recognized.
But I CAN still log in on the website, so obviously myORCA is just busted. Cool.
